Fans are reeling over the death of Hollywood legend Olivia Newton-John this week, but it appears the 73-year-old singer had already come to terms with her passing before it happened.

The “Grease” star battled breast cancer for 30 years before her death on Monday. During an episode of the Australian podcast “A Life of Greatness,” Newton-John discussed her feelings about death and embracing what comes next.

“We all know we’re going to die, but I think we spend our lives in denial,” she said during the interview. “It’s extremely personal so it’s hard to put into words.”

“I feel that we are all one thing and I’ve had experiences with spirits and spirit life. I believe there is something that happens,” the Grammy Award-winning recording artist continued. “I hope the energies of the people you love will be there… I think all the love will be there. I’m sort of looking forward to that, not now, but when it happens.”

The New York Post reported that Newton-John began selling off multiple properties in 2019 upon learning of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She did so in order to devote the funds to her foundation and wellness initiatives, the publication reported

“Olivia loved helping people. She spent the last two decades of her life giving back,” a source close to Newton-John told The Post. “She wanted to leave behind something that would last, and something that her daughter, too, could benefit from.”

Newton-John’s husband, John Easterling, shared news of her death on Monday, saying she “passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation,” he wrote.

The singer’s “Grease” co-star John Travolta also posted a public tribute to the legendary star.

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better,” Travolta wrote on his Instagram page. “Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever!”
