<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The chief medical examiner of New York City confirmed on Tuesday that the senior vice president of skincare company </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Estée Lauder died after suffering a </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">pulmonary embolism that was caused by a cosmetic injection. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kendal Ascher, 56, died suddenly in his husband William Howe’s arms back in February while in their $2.8 million New York City apartment. Ascher reportedly felt lightheaded while taking a shower before collapsing and going limp. Examiners ruled Ascher’s death “accidental.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It was revealed on Tuesday that his cosmetic fillers triggered a </span><a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pulmonary-embolism/symptoms-causes/syc-20354647"><span style="font-weight: 400;">pulmonary embolism</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, which occurs when a blood clot stops blood flow to an artery in the lungs. I</span>n Ascher’s case, it was the filler that stopped his blood flow.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“There was no pulse, he was immediately unresponsive, he died in my arms,” Howe </span><a href="https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-15614765/kendal-ascher-estee-lauder-died.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> The Daily Mail. “It all happened within eight seconds.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Howe was not aware of Ascher getting any cosmetic fillers immediately before his death, but he said that five months before the tragedy, the two of them got Botox together, which is not considered a filler.</span></p>

Facial fillers are received by more than five million men and women every year.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.kennethmarkmd.com/meet-the-doctor"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dr. Kenneth Mark</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, who did not work with Ascher but </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">specializes in Botox and fillers,</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> believed Ascher’s filler was accidentally injected into a blood vessel. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He told the New York Post that deaths are “extremely rare” after receiving facial filler and “much more classically associated with larger volume injection of fat in the buttocks.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cosmetic fillers are generally safe, but it is important to be treated by a board-certified plastic surgeon with FDA-approved products. </span></p>

Cintra, who was stationed at the rear holding Freitas by her feet, admitted the team routinely rotated who handled the rope, offering no clearer explanation for the catastrophic oversight.</p>

An off-duty nurse rushed down to help but was unable to save her.</p>

The nurse, Rayza Dias, said she had to climb down a steep, muddy slope to reach Rodrigues de Freitas, but when she did, she detected a weak pulse. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I even talked to her,” Dias said. “I have a habit of joking and saying, ‘Nobody dies on my shift,’ even though I wasn’t on my shift there.” </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The odds of surviving a fall from 131 feet are extremely low, but a study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine <a href="https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3212924/">suggests</a> that what a person lands on — and how they land — can influence their chances of survival. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The study examined a 28-year-old rock climber who survived an &#8220;unsurvivable&#8221; injury after falling 300 feet onto a solid rock surface, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">about 170 feet further than Rodrigues de Freitas fell. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the report, the climber initially fell about 200 feet onto a flat rock surface, then fell a further 100 feet, which slowed and redirected her descent. Although she suffered devastating injuries to her legs, pelvis, and spine, her body position helped her avoid immediately fatal trauma to the head, brain, and heart because her lower body absorbed much of the impact. The report concluded that body positioning at the time of impact can play a crucial role in survivability.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Officials have not publicly disclosed Rodrigues de Freitas&#8217; body position at the time of impact.</span></p>

Egoroff appeared to be attached to a safety rope while the child clung to him, but a chorus of social media users called the stunt irresponsible and called for an end to &#8220;these bizarre practices!&#8221; </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Brazilian police official Andrea Dantas Levy said the team wasn&#8217;t licensed: “It was a team there that wasn’t regulated; they didn’t even have authorization to be there. The convictions rely on charges rooted in Islamic penal law — a framework critics say is routinely weaponized to justify executions of political opponents while insulating the regime from accountability.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The driver, Jing S. Dong, is a Chinese native with U.S. citizenship who received a commercial driver’s license from New York in 2024, according to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.</span></p>

The young family&#8217;s vehicle caught on fire after the collision, the Post reported.</span></p>

<p>A proud California veteran known for plastering his home with American flags and Donald Trump memorabilia died after a &#8220;brutal and unprovoked&#8221; daylight <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/owner-of-trump-house-in-critical-condition-after-brutal-beating">attack</a> outside his Southern California residence — and his heartbroken widow fears his patriotism made him a target.</p>
<p>Kerry George Sheron, 69, tragically succumbed to his injuries on Sunday evening after spending days fighting for his life in a local ICU, authorities said.</p>
<p>The horrifying assault unfolded on May 20 at around 2:14 p.m. outside Sheron’s Escondido, California, home — a property widely recognized by locals as the neighborhood “Trump House.”</p>
<p>According to prosecutors, Thomas Caleb Butler, 32, <a href="https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/escondido/escondido-trump-house-attack-suspect-court/?ipid=promo-link-block1" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/escondido/escondido-trump-house-attack-suspect-court/?ipid%3Dpromo-link-block1&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1779973438730000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3x0hHPW8Pg9IumjUebIVnL">ambushed</a> the elderly veteran, punching and stomping on Sheron’s head at least twice. When a brave bystander attempted to intervene and halt the bloodshed, Butler allegedly advanced on him, threw a punch, and hurled criminal threats before fleeing the scene on foot.</p>
<p>Escondido cops quickly tracked down Butler a few blocks away and slapped handcuffs on him. He was initially booked for attempted murder, elder abuse causing great bodily injury, battery, and making threats. He has pleaded not guilty.</p>

<p>&#8220;Back in March, people came through with razor blades and cut up a bunch of Kerry&#8217;s flags,&#8221; family friend Jim Gillie said, noting that Sheron always took the vitriol in stride.</p>
<p>&#8220;Kerry was used to it because he&#8217;d come out here with his Trump signs and stuff during the week and flags, and people would drive by and honk and wave, and most of the people are good, but when someone would flip him off, he&#8217;d just look at me and say, they have their right to freedom of speech too,&#8221; Gillie said.</p>
<p>Following the attack, the local community rallied around the home, placing flowers and holding vigils on the sidewalk. Devastated neighbors are now vowing to keep watch over the property to ensure Sheron&#8217;s beloved flags stay flying high.</p>
<p>&#8220;I want to remember my husband &#8230; how he was a very good man,&#8221; Garcia said. &#8220;Service in the church, service in the Army &#8230; for me, he is my hero.&#8221;</p>
<p>Yusef Miller of the North County Equity and Justice Coalition called the killing a wake-up call for a divided nation.</p>
<p>&#8220;What happened to our fellow veteran is something that should have never happened,&#8221; Miller said. &#8220;This is an example, when we lost Kerry, of how far we&#8217;ve gone off the wrong track.”</p>

<p>Colorado officials identified the man <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-horrifying-video-shows-moment-plane-strikes-airport-trespasser">killed</a> while walking on the runway of the Denver International Airport last week and said they believe he died by suicide.</p>
<p>Michael Mott, 41, died from multiple blunt and sharp force injuries he sustained when he was struck by a Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 that was speeding down the runway just before takeoff, according to the Denver City and County Medical Examiner’s Office. While authorities said they have not found a suicide note, they believe that Mott wanted to end his life.</p>
<p>“We currently are looking for any notes, computers, anything like that, trying to identify places where he most recently was,” <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/12/us-news/officials-reveal-grim-details-in-death-of-trespasser-mutilated-by-frontier-airlines-jet-engine-at-denver-airport/">said</a> Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas.</p>
<p>Mott had run-ins with Denver police in the past, according to a department spokesman, who did not say what led to those encounters.</p>
<p>Mott hopped an eight-foot barbed wire fence before casually strolling onto the runway just after 11:00 p.m. local time last Friday. Video footage showed the 41-year-old man slowly walking into the middle of the runway and directly into the path of the plane before the collision.</p>

<p>Mott was ingested into one of the engines of the Airbus A321, sparking a fire and causing passengers to evacuate through the plane&#8217;s emergency slides. Twelve passengers were injured in the emergency evacuation, according to officials.</p>
<p>The Denver International Airport said it has alarms set up to alert staff if someone gets past the airport&#8217;s barriers, but last Friday, the operator on duty “reviewed the alarm and identified a herd of deer just outside of the perimeter fence.”</p>
<p>“The camera view was alternating between the wildlife and the individual. There are some ditches in the area, so the person was out of view for a bit as well,&#8221; Denver International Airport CEO Phil Washington said.</p>
<p>Washington said the airport would conduct a review to look into the incident and better prepare for the future.</p>
<p>“Since this incident, we have been asked, ‘Why don’t you electrify the fence, or ‘Why isn’t the fence tall?’ or ‘Why don’t you use razor wire instead of barbed wire?’” the CEO added. “Safety and security, again, is always our top priority. We don’t want our fence to be deadly, and even if the fence was taller, we believe a motivated individual could find a way to penetrate, that is why we have many layers of security.”</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The trespasser was fatally struck by a Frontier Airlines jet at 11:19 p.m. The person, who has not yet been publicly identified, was ingested into one of the engines of the Airbus A321 as the plane accelerated for departure. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Airport officials later confirmed that the man was not an airport employee but a trespasser who scaled the perimeter fence. Authorities said he made it onto the runway and was struck by the aircraft two minutes after breaching airport grounds. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We just hit a person,” the pilot told air traffic control in the immediate aftermath of the collision. </span></p>
