<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Police are investigating claims that cyberbullying may have contributed to the death by suicide of reality star Darrell Sheets, who was best known for starring in the popular A&amp;E series “Storage Wars.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Law enforcement </span><a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/04/22/celebrity-news/police-investigating-claim-storage-wars-star-darrell-sheets-was-cyberbullied-before-death/?utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Page Six that they are “aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fans began circulating screenshots from a community Facebook group that Sheets was a member of, which detailed the alleged bullying. &#8220;My apologies to all people in Lake Havasu, my identity has been stolen and it is not me,&#8221; a post Sheets shared in January says. The reality star named two people who he claimed were “attacking me with hundreds of negative posts on people and their businesses.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sheets described the two individuals as “very sick people.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I banned him from being in my shop because of what him and [the other person] do to people,” he wrote, adding that he contacted the FBI about filing stalking, harassment, and stolen identity charges.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Another Facebook </span><a href="https://x.com/0hour1/status/2047065931822633184"><span style="font-weight: 400;">post</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> shared in March made similar accusations about these same individuals.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I’m extremely sorry and sick over this, these people have ruined me,” Sheets wrote. &#8220;People are showing up to my work and wanting to harm me, the police are aware of this.&#8221; He next said, “if something happens to me it was, it was [them].” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Fans were heartbroken by the announcement that the 67-year-old star had died in an apparent suicide. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to a press release from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, Sheets was found around 2 a.m. local time on Wednesday, April 22, after officers responded to “a reported deceased individual.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” the release said. “The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Storage Wars” premiered on A&amp;E in 2010 and just debuted its 17th season in February. The reality show depicts real-life buyers who bid on the contents of abandoned storage units. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During his time on the show, Sheets earned the nickname “The Gambler” for frequently bidding high on units that could be worth nothing. Sheets retired from “Storage Wars” in 2023 and opened an antique shop in Arizona called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A spokesperson for A&amp;E says in a statement, &#8220;We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">His longtime co-star Brandi Passante shared in an Instagram post full of photo memories that she’s “at a loss for words” following Sheets’ untimely death.</span></p>

<p>The U.K. immigrant accused in the random killings of three people, including a Department of Homeland Security employee, was found dead in his Georgia jail cell Tuesday evening.</p>
<p>Authorities said that 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel, who was naturalized during former President Joe Biden’s administration, was found unresponsive by officials in his cell, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene after authorities performed life-saving measures.</p>
<p>Officials have not released a cause of death as of Wednesday morning, but they do not suspect any foul play. Abel was found unresponsive by jail staff at 6:48 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m., which was around the same time that a vigil was being held by family and friends of his victims, Fox 5 Atlanta <a href="https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/shooting-spree-suspect-found-dead-dekalb-county-jail">reported</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;In accordance with agency policy, a standard internal review has been initiated to examine the circumstances surrounding this incident,&#8221; DeKalb County Sheriff Sheriff Melody Maddox said. County officials added that &#8220;there is no indication of criminal activity or foul play.&#8221;</p>
<p>Abel was charged with two counts of murder and aggravated assault after he went on a killing spree in Georgia earlier this month. Abel attacked three people at random on the morning of April 13, including stabbing and shooting 40-year-old Homeland Security auditor Lauren Bullis, who was killed as she was on a walk with her dog.</p>
<p>Bullis was the third person targeted by Abel that morning. The immigrant, who had an extensive criminal record, shot and killed Prianna Weathers, 31, outside of a Checker&#8217;s restaurant around 1:00 a.m. in DeKalb County. Abel then drove 16 miles to Brookhaven, Georgia, where he shot Tony Matthews, 48, outside of a Kroger store. Matthews died from his injuries on Sunday, according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/17/us/lauren-bullis-prianna-weathers-atlanta-shootings">CNN</a>, meaning that Abel likely would have been hit with a third murder charge.</p>
<p>Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said that Abel has previously been convicted of sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalism. After the brutal killings, the Trump administration emphasized that it is prioritizing &#8220;measures to ensure individuals with criminal histories and who otherwise lack good moral character do not attain citizenship.&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Actor and director Patrick Muldoon, best known for appearances on &#8220;Melrose Place&#8221; and long-running soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” died of a heart attack on Sunday at the age of 57.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The actor was also known for his role in the movie “Starship Troopers,” among other projects in the late 1990s and early 2000s, per </span><a href="https://deadline.com/2026/04/patrick-muldoon-dead-days-of-our-lives-melrose-place-1236865474/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Deadline</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. He played a villain, Richard Hart, on “Melrose Place” from seasons 3 through 5. He also scored a role on “Saved by the Bell” in 1991. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Muldoon has been working consistently in Hollywood for decades, with direct-to-video releases put out consistently over the years, followed by work as a producer more recently. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">His latest movie, a crime thriller called “Dirty Hands,” has a scheduled release later this year, the outlet noted. Muldoon also posted about an upcoming project on Instagram a few days before his untimely death. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazie Beetz And Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia,” he </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXPlPaWjyXC/?hl=en-gb"><span style="font-weight: 400;">wrote</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in the caption alongside a photo of a Deadline article about the new work in progress, which he also noted he’d be producing. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The comments were flooded with fans expressing their shock over Muldoon’s unexpected death. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I am so sad! He was just the best ever! Biggest heart and so kind to his fans. He will forever be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family,” one person wrote, echoing what so many others were saying.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Actor Jake Getman shared his thoughts about his former co-star on Instagram and included a picture of the pair on the red carpet together.  </span></p>

<p class="p1">Life doesn’t come with a handbook, and neither does death.</p>
<p class="p1">Why do we keep it hidden away? Why do we try so desperately to cheat it? I suppose we’ve come a long way since Walt Disney froze his head (fact check: <a href="https://www.biography.com/movies-tv/walt-disney-frozen-after-death-myth"><span class="s1">false</span></a>), but forever-young <a href="https://time.com/6315607/bryan-johnsons-quest-for-immortality/"><span class="s1">Bryan Johnson</span></a> isn’t any closer to living forever, and, judging by his thawed-over looks and massive supplement regimen, I’m not sure most people would find that route appealing anyway. But <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/04/03/silicon-valleys-quest-to-live-forever"><span class="s1">Silicon Valley</span></a> pushes ahead with its plan to play God ­— or at least outwit Him. Spoiler alert, not a good plan with <a href="https://www.bibleanalysis.org/saul-the-rise-and-fall-of-israels-first-king/"><span class="s1">Him</span></a> or the <a href="https://www.caltaxadviser.com/top-10-worst-celebrity-tax-cheats-in-history/"><span class="s1">IRS</span></a>.</p>
<p class="p1">But when someone like Ben Sasse comes along, it’s hard to look away. In fact, we must look and look with wonder and awe.</p>
<p class="p1">The former senator from Nebraska was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 pancreatic cancer in December 2025. He was the guest on New York Times columnist Ross Douthat’s “<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/09/opinion/ben-sasse-death-pancreatic-cancer.html"><span class="s1">Interesting Times</span></a>” podcast on April 9, where he called the diagnosis “a death sentence.”</p>
<p class="p1">Days later, Sasse went viral. It wasn’t because of his appearance on the podcast, <i>per se</i>, but because of a <a href="https://x.com/AlexGoldenNBA/status/2042407968528880070?s=20">clip</a> of a young couple sitting courtside at an Indiana Pacers game engaged in a conversation. It was later revealed to be about Sasse’s thoughts on the state of liberal arts colleges and America’s higher education system, as discussed with Douthat.</p>

<p class="p1">So here we have a made-for-meme moment starring two Pacers fans breathing fresh life into a man not just dying before our eyes but leaning into it so far that Sheryl Sandberg is taking notes. Now we can’t look away.</p>
<p class="p3">The good news and bad news are the same: you are going to die. We are all going to die. Fear not! There is no commitment on your end — other than the fate of your eternal soul. The trick to seeing both ways is to pause and consider what this means in life.</p>
<p class="p1">Americans are a dynamic, forward-thinking, happy-go-lucky crew who have too much going on at any given moment to stop and think about when things will stop <i>forever</i>. That mentality has had its benefits. We boldly ventured into the great Western frontier, stormed European beaches not once, but twice, to bail out our Old-World brethren from tangles of their own making. We rule the seas and explore the skies.</p>
<p class="p1">But all that moving and world-shaking leaves us wholly unprepared for the end. So yes, we’re all going to die. Death and taxes, as the saying goes. Except taxes can be managed, depending on who wields the political levers of power, or if you have an accountant whose address is a P.O. box and insists you pay in cash. Death has no workaround, comes with no instructions, and looks different for every person on the planet. But the good news is that being reminded of our mortality crystallizes the urgency and preciousness of life, and that life isn’t lived out on our timeline, no matter what technological advances the tech wunderkinds promise, and there are no one-size-fits-all guidelines.</p>
<p class="p1">In Tim Burton’s 1988 film “Beetlejuice,” married couple Barbara and Adam Maitland (played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident and find themselves stuck in the afterlife with nothing but the “Handbook for the Recently Deceased” to guide them. It contains tips and quips: “Live people ignore the strange and unusual,” and “The living usually won&#8217;t see the dead.” But Burton’s film is a fictional tale with a fictional book, devoid of faith, and it spares us the actual <i>dying</i> part.</p>
<p class="p1">Ben Sasse doesn’t have a handbook on death or dying, yet here he is publicly facing his mortality in the most painful and gruesome way. Sasse is turning Beetlejuice’s “Handbook” on its head, doling out valuable insight and wisdom to the living, and we treat it like a spectator sport, except this Pacers fan boyfriend, who is trying to impart a piece of that wisdom to his girlfriend. “What the f*ck are you talking about?” she responds. Keep trying, buddy; a nation is cheering for you, and for Ben Sasse.</p>

<p class="p1">We can plan for the afterlife: I want Elvis singing over the loudspeakers and free cigarettes at the funeral cash bar. But mostly, I want people to reflect on how they’re spending their limited time among the living — because even a one-day crash course on death could have repercussions in life. And that is exactly what Ben Sasse did and is doing: offering his death so we might reflect on our lives.</p>
<p class="p1">That’s not something we can find in any handbook.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Actress Nicole Kidman said she’s making a slightly morbid-sounding career move: training to become a “death doula.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 58-year-old discussed the transition during a talk at the University of San Francisco over the weekend, acknowledging that the work “sounds a little weird.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A death doula is a non-medical companion who provides emotional, practical, and sometimes spiritual support to people nearing the end of life. The role has gained wider attention in recent years, including through portrayals in the popular medical drama &#8220;The Pitt.&#8221;  </span></p>
<p>Kidman said her interest in becoming a death doula was shaped by her experience caring for her mother, who died in September 2024 at age 84. Her father died in 2014.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“As my mother was passing, she was lonely, and there was only so much the family could provide,” Kidman said, </span><a href="https://www.sfchronicle.com/entertainment/movies-tv/article/nicole-kidman-usf-death-doula-22198400.php"><span style="font-weight: 400;">according</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to the San Francisco Chronicle. “Between my sister and I, we have so many children and our careers and our work, and wanting to take care of her because my father wasn’t in the world anymore, and that’s when I went, ‘I wish there was these people in the world that were there to sit impartially and just provide solace and care.’”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“So that’s part of my expansion and one of the things I will be learning,” she added. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Death doulas are apparently becoming a “thing” in Hollywood. “Hamnet” director Chloé Zhao </span><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/24/magazine/chloe-zhao-interview.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">revealed</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> earlier this year that she has trained as one as well.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“The societal understanding of death and the space it gives to grief and how it’s embedded in the culture and the medicalization of death have shifted so much,&#8221; Zhao told The New York Times in January. &#8220;In the modern world, when death is no longer seen as a natural part of life — because now it’s about staying alive as long as we can — there’s almost shame around death.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I have been terrified of death my whole life. I still am,” Zhao added. “Because I’ve been so afraid I haven’t been able to live fully … And because I’m so scared of it, I have no choice but to start to develop a healthier relationship with it, or the second half of life would be too hard.”</span></p>

<p>“Death is terrible,” Sasse added. “We should never sugarcoat it. It is not how things are meant to be. But it is great that death can be called the final enemy. It’s an enemy, but it’s a final enemy, and then there will be no more tears.”</p>

<p>Sasse is now in the fourth month since his diagnosis, having been told he had three to four months to live.</p>
<p>“I believe in the Resurrection, and I believe in a restoration of this world, and so I did not feel great fear about my death,” Sasse said. “I didn’t want the pain I was going through, I didn’t want to be a pansy-ass in my final moments.”</p>
<p>Sasse had a bloody face during his interview, a side effect of a new cancer treatment, he told Douthat. The treatment is extending the lives of cancer patients, but causes bleeding, peeling, and rashes.</p>
<p>“It’s a nasty drug,” Sasse said. “It causes crazy stuff, like my body can’t grow skin, and so I bleed out of a whole bunch of parts of me that shouldn’t be bleeding.”</p>
<p>Sasse has done several interviews since his diagnosis, and he told Douthat he has “time to redeem.”</p>
<p>“You gotta redeem the time, and there’s only so many bits of unsolicited advice I can give my children,” Sasse said when asked why he is choosing to talk to journalists. “You journalists want to talk, and if you don’t have anybody better, I’m your man.”</p>
<p>Although Sasse said he has made peace with his mortality, he added that he does have regrets about having prioritized poorly throughout his life.</p>
<p>“We’re all on the clock, and I wanted to have prioritized better, and whether I really only had three or four months left or if I get nine to 12 months left, I wanna prioritize better from then. But in my tradition, in Christianity, the need for daily repentance is just a truth. I am broken,” Sasse said. “And I get to repent every day of my sins — of both omission and commission. And yet, at a slightly bigger level, if you’re only gonna get three or four months, you really wanna get some of your affairs in order.”</p>
<p>Sasse said he has felt a heaviness about the diagnosis because he does not want to leave his children without a father.</p>
<p>“I knew that God was not surprised by the diagnosis,” Sasse said. “There is not a maverick molecule in the universe. But I didn’t like the idea of my 14-year-old son not having a dad around at 16. I didn’t like the idea of my daughters, who are 22 and 24, not having their dad there to walk them down the aisle.”</p>
<p>Despite his concerns, Sasse said, he is still at peace.</p>
<p>“I’ve continued to feel a peace about the fact that death is something that we should hate, we should call it a wicked thief, and yet, it’s pretty good that you pass through the veil of tears one time and then there will be no more tears,” Sasse said.</p>

<p>The U.S. fertility rate reached a record low in 2025, continuing a troubling trend as annual deaths are projected to exceed annual births in America within the next decade.</p>
<p>Total births per 1,000 American women aged 15-44 dropped to 53.1 last year, according to data released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Last year also marked the first time in U.S. history that women in their late 30s had higher birth rates than women in their 20s, The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/us-news/why-the-u-s-fertility-rate-has-hit-a-record-low-13e7c2f8?mod=e2tw">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Recent <a href="https://x.com/BradWilcoxIFS/status/2042211547343450313/photo/1">projections</a> from the Congressional Budget Office warn that, beginning in 2033, there will be more deaths reported in the United States than births. After 2032, U.S. population growth will be entirely dependent on net immigration, according to the Congressional Budget Office&#8217;s projections. The United States recorded just 514,000 more births than deaths in 2025.</p>

<p>The U.S. fertility rate now stands at 1.57 births per woman, below the replacement level of 2.1 and among the lowest in the world. Data from 2023 showed that only eight countries, including Russia and China, had lower fertility rates than the United States. South Korea has the world&#8217;s lowest fertility rate at 0.80 births per woman in 2025, which was a slight <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/02/06/asia/south-korea-population-fertility-rate-intl-hnk-dst">increase</a> from 0.75 in 2024 and 0.72 in 2023. The United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and Spain also have lower fertility rates than the United States.</p>
<p>A big part of the declining U.S. fertility rate is the continued sharp decrease in births among young women and teenage girls. Since 2010, the birth rate among women between the ages of 20 and 24 dropped from nearly 100 births per 1,000 women to just over 50 births. For girls between 15 and 19, the birth rate has plummeted 72% since 2007.</p>
<p>&#8220;People are waiting longer to enter parenthood and probably want to make sure that things are set in their lives before they do so. There might be a lot of uncertainty, and that might not be good for a society in general,” Wendy Manning, co-director of Bowling Green State University&#8217;s National Center for Family &amp; Marriage Research, told the Journal.</p>
<p>The Trump administration has expressed concern about America&#8217;s declining birth rate and has enacted policies to encourage more Americans to have babies. President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Big, Beautiful Bill,&#8221; passed by Congress last year, sets up $1,000 Trump accounts for babies born between 2025 and 2028 and increases the child tax credit.</p>
<p>President Trump also signed an executive order in February 2025, seeking ways to lower costs for in vitro fertilization.</p>
<p>&#8220;My Administration recognizes the importance of family formation, and as a Nation, our public policy must make it easier for loving and longing mothers and fathers to have children,&#8221; Trump&#8217;s order <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/expanding-access-to-in-vitro-fertilization/">stated</a>.</p>
<p>Vice President JD Vance has also been outspoken in his desire to see more babies born in the United States. Speaking at the March for Life in January 2025, Vance <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23XJ2SqI8FA&amp;t=332s">told</a> pro-life demonstrators, &#8220;Our society has failed to recognize the obligation that one generation has to another is a core part of living in a society to begin with, so let me say very simply, I want more babies in the United States of America.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them,&#8221; Vance added. &#8220;And it is the task of our government to make it easier [for] young moms and dads to afford to have kids, to bring them into the world, and to welcome them as the blessings we know they are.&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Leonid Radvinsky, the owner of OnlyFans, has died at age 43 following a battle with cancer, the company announced Monday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Leo Radvinsky. Leo passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer,” the subscription platform said in a statement. “His family have requested privacy at this difficult time.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Ukrainian-American billionaire entrepreneur purchased Fenix International, the parent company of OnlyFans, in 2018, according to The New York Post. He served as the company&#8217;s director and majority owner until his death. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Radvinsky was known for staying out of the spotlight and had not publicly announced his illness. He was a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in economics and is survived by his wife, Katie Chudnovsky, and their four children. The family resided in Florida.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He famously declined interviews and did not attend industry events. </span><a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/media/only-fans-leonid-radvinsky-profile-706c914d"><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> The Wall Street Journal, employees were required to sign nondisclosure agreements limiting unauthorized disclosures about the company and its operations. Under his leadership, OnlyFans grew into a highly profitable platform that allows creators to sell subscription-based content directly to users, including pornographic material. </span></p>
<p>Critics say the model has expanded access to producing and distributing adult content and played a role in normalizing sex work.</p>

<p>Former FBI director Robert Mueller, whose investigation into President Donald Trump&#8217;s first presidential campaign made him a Democratic hero, is dead at 81.</p>
<p>As special counsel, Mueller led the probe into whether there was Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. The investigation, which took place during Trump&#8217;s first term, earned Mueller praise from Trump&#8217;s enemies, and scorn from the president.</p>
<p>“With deep sadness, we are sharing the news that Bob passed away last night.  His family asks that their privacy be respected,” his family said in a statement, according to the New York Times.</p>
<p>“Robert Mueller just died. Good, I&#8217;m glad he&#8217;s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” Trump posted to Truth Social on Saturday.</p>
<p>While Trump was critical, others lauded Mueller’s career.</p>
<p>“Robert Mueller devoted his life to service — from the Marine Corps to leading the FBI and serving as Special Counsel,” Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) posted to X.</p>
<p>“He believed deeply in the rule of law and the responsibility to uphold it. His legacy is one of integrity, duty, and strength of character. My thoughts are with his family,” he added.</p>
<p>Mueller had Parkinson’s disease, the New York Times reported in August.</p>
<p>He served as the head of the FBI during under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama from 2001-2013.</p>
<p>Before his decades in federal law enforcement, Mueller served as a Marine Corps officer during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for valor and a Purple Heart after being wounded in combat.</p>
<p>His background helped shape his reputation in Washington as an apolitical institutionalist, a figure trusted by leaders in both parties.</p>
<p>Appointed FBI director by George W. Bush just one week before the September 11 attacks, Mueller oversaw the bureau’s transformation into a counterterrorism-focused agency during one of the most consequential periods in its history.</p>
<p>Mueller returned to the spotlight years later as special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, a probe that would define his public legacy. While the investigation concluded in 2019 that Russia had interfered in the election, it did not establish a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Moscow. Still, the probe fueled years of political conflict.</p>
<p>Trump repeatedly blasted Mueller throughout and after the investigation, calling the probe a “witch hunt” and accusing the special counsel’s team of bias. Even after the report’s release, tensions lingered, with Trump and his allies arguing the investigation had unfairly damaged his presidency, while critics maintained Mueller’s findings raised serious concerns about conduct and obstruction.</p>

<p>Brendon died of natural causes on Friday evening, according to a statement from his family to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/nicholas-brendon-dead-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-1236543090/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>.</p>
<p>“We are heartbroken to share the passing of our brother and son, Nicholas Brendon. He passed in his sleep of natural causes. Most people know Nicky for his work as an actor and for the characters he brought to life over the years,” the family said before noting that Brendon was not only an actor, but a painter and artist.</p>
<p>“While it’s no secret that Nicholas had struggles in the past, he was on medications and treatment to manage his diagnosis and he was optimistic about the future at the time of his passing,” the family added, requesting privacy as they mourn Brendon’s passing.</p>
<p>Prior to his breakout role in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Brendon appeared in episodes of “Married… with Children” and “Dave’s World.” After playing Xander Harris in 143 episodes of “Buffy,” he continued acting in TV shows such as “Kitchen Confidential,” “Private Practice,” and in films like “Coherence.” He also served as a TV and film producer.</p>
<p>According to IMDb, Brendon has two upcoming projects that are in post-production.</p>
<p>Brendon&#8217;s &#8220;Buffy&#8221; co-stars responded to his death on social media.</p>

<p>Brendon suffered a heart attack in 2022, later revealing that he had been diagnosed with a congenital heart condition that caused tachycardia, or abnormally fast heart rate. The TV star also battled mental illness and substance abuse issues, and had multiple run-ins with the law.</p>
<p>Brendon entered rehab for the second time in 2010 after “being tasered by police and charged with vandalism, resisting arrest and battery against a police officer. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to probation and community service,” according to <a href="https://people.com/tv/nicholas-brendons-troubled-life-after-buffy/">People</a>.</p>
<p>He was arrested multiple times over the following years — twice for allegedly attacking his girlfriend — and entered several recovery programs. He was <a href="https://www.desertsun.com/story/news/crime_courts/2020/02/28/buffy-actor-nicholas-brendon-palm-springs-court-2017-domestic-violence-charge/4905355002/">sentenced</a> in 2020 to three years&#8217; probation for one of the attacks, and given 20 hours of community service. Brendon had further run-ins with the law in the years that followed.</p>
