The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NFL</a> is reportedly looking into issuing a possible fine against 49ers star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/49ers-stars-jersey-sales-soar-after-he-flashes-maga-hat-on-tv">Nick Bosa</a> after he flashed his white MAGA hat on TV during an NBC “Sunday Night Football” postgame interview from the field.
Sources with the league reportedly told CBS Sports that the “NFL is looking into” the situation of Bosa going on TV pointing to his white ball cap with gold lettering that read “Make America Great Again,” CBS reporter Jonathan Jones wrote on <a href="https://x.com/jjones9/status/1852427821278527656">X</a>.
“There will not be a determination on any potential fine until later next week,” he added. “I’m told there is no consideration for any potential suspension…Based on the timeline from a source, appears, if any, punishment for Bosa comes, it will be after Election Day.”

According to the <a href="https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/possible-fine-49ers-nick-bosa-maga-hat.html">NFL rules book</a>, it states that on game day, &#8220;while a player is visible to the stadium or TV audience, players are prohibited from wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the league office.&#8221;
“The league will not grant permission for any club or player to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages, through helmet decals, arm bands, jersey patches, mouthpieces, or other items affixed to game uniforms or equipment, which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns,&#8221; it added.

Bosa made headlines after he jumped into a <a href="https://x.com/WarClandestine/status/1850748323046576338">postgame interview</a> wearing the MAGA hat following the 49ers’ 30-24 victory against the Dallas Cowboys during the Sunday Night Football game.
<a href="https://www.49ers.com/news/nick-bosa-ranked-no-4-nfl-top-100-players-2023-training-camp#:~:text=Reigning%20AP%20NFL%20Defensive%20Player,was%20unveiled%20as%20the%20No.">The top defensive player</a> in the NFL then appeared to double down on his support for former President Donald Trump during a post-game press conference when he was asked about it, saying, “I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,” as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nfl-star-crashes-postgame-interview-with-trump-maga-hat-doubles-down-at-presser">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.
Bosa is not the only athlete publicly backing Trump. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback and Hall of Famer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/brett-favre">Brett Favre</a> appeared on stage with Trump at his rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday and spoke to Trump supporters about why he was backing the former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/packers-legend-brett-favre-rallies-for-trump-time-to-bench-kamala" target="_blank" rel="noopener">president</a>.
“I can tell you one thing, I knew I would come back to Green Bay at various times, but I never thought I would come back in this setting,” Favre said. “There’s never been a more important time in our lives than right now in this election.”
“Much like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization is a winner. The United States of America won with his leadership,” Favre added.
