Newly-released video shows former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saying former President Donald Trump must “pay a price” after the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6, 2021.
Pelosi’s documentary filmmaker daughter, Alexandria, captured the moment early on January 7 in a car after Congress certified Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory, according to multiple reports.
“I just feel sick about what he did to the Capitol and the country,” Pelosi said after being asked how she felt about being “done” with Trump. The then-speaker added, “He’s got to pay a price for that.”

The Democrat-controlled House ultimately impeached Trump for alleged “incitement of insurrection,” but the GOP-controlled Senate acquitted him.
Yet it did not stop there.
House Democrats spearheaded a bipartisan select committee investigation into January 6, resulting in a recommendation that Trump face charges.
Multiple criminal prosecutions have been levied against Trump as he runs another White House campaign this election cycle, including a federal case in which he is accused of election subversion.
Trump has denied wrongdoing and often insists he is the target of a politically-motivated “witch hunt.”
Republicans regained control of the House after the 2022 election and, in the months that followed, they began their own inquiry into the January 6 panel and the security failures underlying the U.S. Capitol riot.
In June, the GOP-led House Oversight Subcommittee disclosed video of Pelosi saying she took “responsibility” for not having the National Guard be more adequately prepared for the events of January 6.
🚨 Since January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi spent 3+ years and nearly $20 million creating a narrative to blame Donald Trump.

Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) said that video obtained from HBO — which released a documentary about Pelosi in 2022 — belied the former speaker’s public effort to pin the blame on Trump.

Other clips emerged in the press this week, less than 90 days before the 2024 election. Multiple news outlets reported they “obtained” footage that Congress had received from HBO.
One of the new clips shows Pelosi saying there was “a domestic enemy in the White House” — a likely reference to Trump.
Pelosi made similar remarks to MSNBC in 2020, saying, “Sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system and our honoring of the Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with their allies in the Congress of the United States.”
Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who is now House majority leader, responded at the time by calling Pelosi’s comments “disgusting” and saying he was shot at a 2017 congressional baseball practice because of “this kind of unhinged rhetoric.”
