Former House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-pelosi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Pelosi</a> (D-CA) advocated turning millions of illegal aliens into U.S. citizens this week and making them eligible for taxpayer-funded assistance for buying homes.
Pelosi made the remarks during a Friday interview on HBO’s “Real Time” with Bill Maher when asked about a highly controversial bill in California that would make illegal aliens eligible for $150,000 for purchasing homes — even as the state leads the country with the largest number of homeless U.S. citizens.
“What I would like to do is move them to documented,” she said. “One of the best things we can do for our economy is pass comprehensive immigration reform.”
Pelosi admitted that the issue of supporting immigration is no longer “bipartisan” ever since Democrats began to weaponize the issue and sought to import voters whom they believe will end up voting for them.
&#8220;But not free housing,&#8221; Maher responded.
&#8220;Well, that&#8217;s not free housing. It&#8217;s the American Dream being available to more people,&#8221; Pelosi claimed.
“California is always in the lead,” she claimed. “Maybe others will follow that lead, but that&#8217;s up to those states. But we are very blessed here with beautiful diversity.”

Maher then pressed Pelosi to answer whether she would vote for the bill.
&#8220;Well, I&#8217;m not familiar with exactly what that is, but making the American dream of homeownership available to all people is something we have to do for people who are here now,&#8221; Pelosi claimed.
Maher then informed her that the bill was for the benefit of only illegal aliens.

Former House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-pelosi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Pelosi</a> (D-CA) claimed this week that Vice President Kamala Harris won the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in an “open” contest despite not facing any competition as the entire party establishment rallied around her.
Pelosi made the claim during an interview Friday night on HBO’s “Real Time” with liberal comedian Bill Maher.
“Many times when I&#8217;m encouraging people to run, especially more women, to run for office,” she said, adding that she believes there is “nothing more wholesome in our political process than that &#8212; aren&#8217;t we excited about?”
Maher responded, “yes,” drawing laughs from the audience.
“Yes, and sometimes you&#8217;re discouraging people to run,” he said in reference to Pelosi reportedly stabbing President Joe Biden in the back by working behind the scenes to force him out of the race. “We’re not going to get into that.”

“Oh, absolutely they do,” Maher responded, causing the audience to erupt in laughter.
Pelosi claimed that Harris won an “open” contest for the nomination despite having no challengers and the entire party falling in line with endorsements from Biden, and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
“Anybody could have gotten in,” she claimed. “She wrapped it up, you have to give her credit for that.”

One of the new clips shows Pelosi <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCGggoyuwKA" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a> there was &#8220;a domestic enemy in the White House&#8221; — a likely reference to Trump.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told MSNBC on Thursday that the Democrats&#8217; election battle against Donald Trump in November is comparable to the U.S. warring with England for its independence.
Pelosi was interviewed by MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell as the Democratic National Convention begins its fourth and final day in Chicago. Many of the DNC speakers have focused on attacking Trump as a &#8220;threat to democracy,&#8221; and Pelosi repeated that rhetoric during her Thursday morning interview.
&#8220;We have to defeat a person who is a threat to our democracy of the kind that we have not seen,&#8221; Pelosi said. &#8220;At the beginning of our country, Thomas Paine said &#8216;The times have found us — declare war, establish a new nation.&#8217; Abraham Lincoln took up that charge to keep our country together years later, decades later.&#8221;
&#8220;And now the times have found us to save our democracy,&#8221; she added. &#8220;That is what we are here to do.&#8221;

The special episode aired live during day two of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-national-convention">Democratic National Convention</a> in Chicago, where thousands of protestors gathered to demonstrate.   
Pelosi was discussing her new book, “The Art of Power,” when a woman started chanting in the back of the audience, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/08/protesters-nancy-pelosi-stephen-colbert-late-show-video-1236045839/">Deadline</a>. 
Colbert responded by saying, “For the people at home who can’t tell, there’s a protest going on in the audience right now. Hold on young lady, I can hear you. We’re actually at a commercial break but the subject is on Israel and Palestine, and if you’ll have a seat, we have to go to a commercial break and when we come back I will ask the next question I had on that subject, if you will listen.”

The show went to break, and Colbert returned and asked Pelosi about her opinion on “the proper use of American power” in foreign countries. 
“If the goal is the peaceful and prosperous future for both Israel and Palestinians, what role does the United States play?” the late-night host asked.
She began by paraphrasing John F. Kennedy. “‘To the countries of the world, ask not what America can do for you, but what we can do working together for the freedom of mankind’ and that is our mission,” Pelosi replied. 
She continued, “Yes, we’ve had a commitment to Israel, that’s been in our security interest to do so. Israel was attacked by a terrorist organization. We want the hostages freed, but we don’t want children killed in Gaza, so we have to come up with a solution.”
“War has no place in a civilized society… We have to learn more about trust and peace and learning about each other rather than to have a conflict by war,” Pelosi added.

As some audience members kept yelling, Colbert said, “As you can see from the continuing protest out here, that answer is unsatisfying to some people.”
“Israel has a right to defend itself … But the other part of it that has been so major for all of us for so many years is that there must be a two-state solution. We cannot have peace unless there’s a two-state solution,” Pelosi added. “Unless you have a two-state solution, we’ll not have a resolution of this.”
The yelling continued, which prompted Colbert to address the audience, saying, “Please don’t interrupt my guests.”

&#8220;At a time when the other party had turned into a cult of personality, we needed a leader who was steady and brought people together,&#8221; Obama said, referring to Biden. &#8220;And was selfless enough to do the rarest thing there is in politics, putting his own ambition aside for the sake of the country.&#8221;

Obama also praised the Biden-Harris administration&#8217;s handling of the economy and the COVID pandemic. Biden was in California while Obama spoke at the DNC in Chicago. The 81-year-old president and first lady Jill Biden boarded a plane for a West Coast vacation shortly after Biden gave his keynote address at the DNC late Monday night.
Just days before Biden announced he was dropping out, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/biden-democrats-drop-out-election-2024-3f9e3d15431fd4974771a54e1d0e4ea7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) were expressing concerns to Democratic allies about Biden continuing to run for re-election following his disastrous June 27 debate against former President Donald Trump. The AP cited &#8220;information from almost a dozen people&#8221; who discussed Obama&#8217;s role in urging Biden to leave the race. The Washington Post also <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/18/obama-says-biden-must-consider-viability/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Obama was telling his allies, including Pelosi, that he was concerned about Biden&#8217;s path to victory.

As Democrats attempted to turn the first night of the Democratic National Convention into a loving farewell for President Joe Biden, CNN anchor Chris Wallace reminded viewers why the president was giving a speech on Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217; nomination instead of accepting his own.
Biden gave the keynote address on Monday night, addressing a crowd that held up &#8220;We (heart) Joe&#8221; signs. Throughout his speech, Biden was interrupted by chants of &#8220;We love Joe.&#8221; The show of appreciation for the 81-year-old commander-in-chief didn&#8217;t impress Wallace, however, who told CNN viewers that Biden &#8220;was basically forced out&#8221; by fellow Democrats.
&#8220;The word that everybody is using to describe tonight is &#8216;bittersweet.&#8217; It&#8217;s just bitter,&#8221; Wallace said. &#8220;The fact of the matter, I&#8217;m not saying Joe Biden is bitter, but, you know, it&#8217;s like you&#8217;ve been thrown out a window, and as you&#8217;re falling, you go &#8216;Gee, it&#8217;s nice out here.'&#8221;

President Joe Biden is preparing to speak at the upcoming Democratic National Convention — but according to a Wednesday report from POLITICO, he is still angry at the power players in his party, some of whom he blames for forcing him out of the 2024 presidential race.
Biden, 81, announced his exit after a disastrous debate performance in late June spurred intense pressure — much of it from within the Democratic Party — for him to step aside and open the door for a younger candidate. Within days, Vice President Kamala Harris had been elevated to fill his position on the 2024 ticket — despite having never won a single primary vote on her own.
But even as Democrats and media talking heads scrambled to praise Biden as &#8220;<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/07/21/biden-drops-out-democrats-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">heroic</a>&#8221; for standing down for the good of both the Democratic Party and the country, it became apparent that some may have played a part in convincing him that he had no choice — and Biden was less than thrilled with them.

The president also reportedly still &#8220;harbors some resentment&#8221; at the man with whom he shared the ticket in 2008 and 2012, former President Barack Obama. Biden&#8217;s frustration with his former boss was focused on the fact that he &#8220;did not call him directly to voice his concerns about the campaign in the aftermath of the disastrous Atlanta debate in late June,&#8221; POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/14/biden-frustration-obama-pelosi-00173883" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. &#8220;The former president did not try to stir up a movement to dislodge Biden from the top of the ticket, but he also didn’t quell one, much to the dismay of some of those closest to Biden.&#8221;
The report also indicated that Biden has started to come around with regard to Pelosi, although he has not spoken to her since his abrupt exit from the race — and he recently dropped her name in connection with the reason that he felt compelled to quit, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-makes-numerous-false-claims-in-softball-cbs-interview-with-no-pushback">speculating</a> that media would be asking him about Pelosi&#8217;s comments and create &#8220;a real distraction.&#8221;

Former House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-pelosi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Pelosi</a> (D-CA) said she tells Republican leaders, &#8220;We&#8217;re out to get you, you&#8217;re dead,&#8221; and likened Donald Trump to a fascist, weeks after Trump was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin.
Pelosi pounded the table angrily in an interview with reporters while &#8220;dispensing wisdom that sounds like a mix of a crime boss and local party activist,&#8221; The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/08/10/nancy-pelosi-memoir-trump/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Following the assassination attempt on Trump, President Joe Biden gave an Oval Office address that said that political rhetoric has a role in contributing to violence. &#8220;We can’t allow this violence to be normalized,” Biden said. “The political rhetoric in this country has gotten very heated. It’s time to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-lectures-on-turning-down-the-volume-in-oval-office-address-after-attempted-donald-trump-assassination" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cool it down</a>. And we all have a responsibility to do that.&#8221;
&#8220;Unity is the most elusive of goals right now, nothing is more important for us now than standing together,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2024/07/14/remarks-by-president-biden-in-address-to-the-nation/">said</a>. &#8220;We debate and disagree.  We compare and contrast the character of the candidates, the records, the issues, the agenda, the vision for America. &#8230; Politics must never be a literal battlefield and, God forbid, a killing field.&#8221;
But in an interview days later, he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-cant-think-of-one-thing-donald-trump-would-do-well" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that he would not change any of his own rhetoric, implying oddly that it was rhetoric from Republicans that caused the Republican nominee for president to be shot. In that interview, he also could not think of a single nice thing to say about Trump. He said Trump &#8220;wants to be a dictator on day one.&#8221;
If the premise that Trump is a fascist or dictator were true, violence would conceivably be justified.
The Post said Pelosi is focused &#8220;squarely on defeating Trump, whom she called &#8216;unpatriotic&#8217; and whom she compared to fascist regimes for his attempts to destroy faith in independent media.&#8221;
“Nothing that I do has anything to do with him, except his downfall,” Pelosi said.
She said she refuses to be friends with Republicans who like Trump, and when freshmen Republicans asked her to attend invitations focused on their shared Italian heritage, she refused and said, &#8220;I do not like you. I&#8217;m out to get you, I&#8217;m out to get you.&#8221;

Biden also used violent language about House Speaker Mike Johnson after the Trump assassination attempt. When a reporter told him that Johnson said a Democrat bill was &#8220;dead on arrival,&#8221; Biden <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2024/07/29/remarks-by-president-biden-after-air-force-one-arrival-austin-tx/">said</a>, &#8220;he is — dead on arrival.&#8221;
The refusal to tone down violent rhetoric on the part of Democrats comes despite political violence being primarily a Democrat problem. Democrats attempted to kill congressional Republicans at a baseball practice, and went to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh&#8217;s house with a plan to kill him. All presidents assassinated in history <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/all-u-s-presidents-assassinated-in-history-were-republicans-except-jfk-who-was-killed-by-a-communist" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were Republicans</a> except John F. Kennedy, who was killed by an apparent communist.
Both Biden and Pelosi cited an attack on Pelosi&#8217;s husband as a parallel to the shooting of Trump, but Pelosi&#8217;s husband was attacked by a hammer by a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-suspect-who-attacked-paul-pelosi-is-an-illegal-immigrant-report-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">homeless illegal immigrant hippy</a>. Biden also drew an analogy to the &#8220;violent mob attacking the Capitol on January 6th,&#8221; even though many of the protesters were gun owners, and yet the only person shot was Ashley Babbitt, a protester who was killed by a police officer.
That framing of January 6, even under intense pressure to draw bipartisan equivalencies about assassination attempts, raises further questions about a pipe bomb that the FBI claimed was found at the Democratic National Committee on January 6.
Kamala Harris, now the Democratic nominee for president, was at the DNC at the time, yet instead of using it as an example of the seriousness of that day, authorities hid the fact that Harris was ever there, instead falsely filing paperwork saying she was at the Capitol.
The bureau said it could <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-tied-january-6-pipe-bomber-to-metro-card-of-ex-gov-official-but-blocked-interview-of-him-former-agent-says">not figure out</a> who placed the bomb there, despite rounding up more than 1,000 people who were present at the Capitol using cell phone data and other techniques. An FBI whistleblower said the bureau quickly zeroed in on a former government official in Virginia, and that he was ordered to stake out the home then abruptly pulled off of it. Video shows the bomb planter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-rnc-security-officer-who-was-first-responder-to-jan-6-pipe-bomb-says-official-story-makes-no-sense-whatsoever" target="_blank" rel="noopener">waving</a> to a police officer.
Harris and other Democrats have gone out of their way to never mention the pipe bomb since, leading Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-fbi-said-there-were-pipe-bombs-on-january-6-evidence-points-to-a-coverup-congressman-says">allege</a> a &#8220;coverup.&#8221;

In the <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2024-07-08/read-the-letter-president-biden-sent-to-house-democrats-telling-them-to-support-him-in-the-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a>, which was sent to congressional Democrats after a fumbling debate performance that stirred a crisis of confidence in his electability, Biden insisted he would not drop out to honor the will of the more than 14 million primary voters who backed him. However, Biden later did step aside as his allies kept up the pressure, paving the way for Vice President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a> to take his place leading the ticket.
&#8220;I didn’t accept the letter as anything but a letter,&#8221; Pelosi said during an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/09/opinion/ezra-klein-podcast-nancy-pelosi.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with Ezra Klein on his podcast for The New York Times. &#8220;I mean, there are some people who are unhappy with the letter. Let me say it differently. Some said that some people were unhappy with the letter. I’ll put it in somebody else’s mouth. It didn’t sound like Joe Biden to me. It really didn’t.&#8221;
The letter came up as Klein asked Pelosi about her much-discussed appearance on MSNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; that followed in which the former speaker <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/nancy-pelosi-stops-short-saying-biden-stay-race-says-time-running-shor-rcna161097" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emphasized</a> she would support whatever decision Biden made about his political future — even though the president was insisting at the time he would not leave the race.
&#8220;I wanted to see a campaign that could win. Because I had made a decision that I stayed in Congress to defeat what’s his name, because I think he is a danger to our country,&#8221; Pelosi said, alluding to former President Donald Trump.
Pelosi suggested that she wanted to use her &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; appearance &#8220;to say, &#8216;Stop saying things,'&#8221; because leaders of NATO were converging in Washington, D.C., that week.
&#8220;If you have something to say, save it for later, until they’re gone,&#8221; Pelosi added. &#8220;Because this is a big deal — the summit of NATO, which he has strengthened, grown, and now is hosting. And they’re doing great things, and he’s the center of it all. Save your comments for later.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/nancy-pelosis-art-of-power" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New Yorker editor David Remnick</a> noted in a recent interview with Pelosi that people around the former speaker said her &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; appearance gave them &#8220;space&#8221; to call on Biden to step aside. Pelosi <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-admits-she-has-never-been-that-impressed-with-bidens-political-operation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> she has &#8220;never been that impressed&#8221; with Biden&#8217;s political operation&#8221; during that conversation, just days after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-suggests-adding-biden-to-mount-rushmore" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggesting</a> Biden&#8217;s face should be added to Mount Rushmore.
When Biden did announce he was exiting the race, he did so with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-drops-out-of-presidential-race" target="_blank" rel="noopener">another letter</a>. At the time, the White House had said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was socially distancing while recovering in Delaware. Biden, 81, addressed the public from the White House a couple days later, saying it was time for <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/07/24/biden-speech-2024-election-campaign-harris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;younger voices&#8221; to lead</a>.
CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/17/politics/nancy-pelosi-biden-conversation/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Pelosi had also told Biden in private that polls showed he could not defeat Trump and warned the president he could hurt other Democrats in down-ticket races if he did not bow out. In recent days, Pelosi <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/05/politics/nancy-pelosi-joe-biden-cnntv/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> she had not spoken to Biden since he dropped out. Journalist Lesley Stahl even told Pelosi it had been said that Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hes-furious-at-you-pelosi-grilled-about-dem-mutiny-against-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was &#8220;furious&#8221; with her</a>, ostensibly for not having the president&#8217;s back.
In a new interview with CBS, Biden <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/11/us-news/biden-specifically-names-nancy-pelosi-in-first-interview-about-why-he-dropped-out-of-presidential-race/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">singled out Pelosi</a> by name as he talked about why he ended his re-election bid. In explaining one of his reasons, Biden <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/president-biden-speaks-on-stakes-of-2024-election-protecting-democracy-and-his-place-in-history/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in the races. And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic. You&#8217;d be interviewing me about &#8216;Why did Nancy Pelosi say…&#8217; &#8216;Why did so-and-so…&#8217; And I thought it&#8217;d be a real distraction.&#8221;

His vice president, Kamala Harris, has since become the Democratic Party&#8217;s presidential nominee.
&#8220;When I pressed Pelosi to talk in greater detail about her language on &#8216;Morning Joe,&#8217; she looked at me silently, unblinking,&#8221; Remnick wrote in <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/nancy-pelosis-art-of-power" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a story published</a> on Thursday. &#8220;Finally, as the silence expanded past the boundary of awkward, I said, &#8216;You’re looking at me and waiting for this moment to pass.'&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, but I’m trying to think of why you’re even asking it, because, you know, I’m not going to answer it the way that you want,&#8221; Pelosi said. &#8220;I didn’t plan to do that on [‘Morning Joe.’] In fact, if I did, I probably would’ve worn a different suit or something, because I didn’t look too professional.&#8221;
Remnick wrote that he told Pelosi, &#8220;It was like you felt his pain.&#8221; In the moments that followed, &#8220;Pelosi dropped her calculated reserve,&#8221; according to Remnick&#8217;s write-up of his conversation.
&#8220;I’ve never been that impressed with his political operation,&#8221; Pelosi said. &#8220;They won the White House. Bravo. But my concern was: this ain’t happening, and we have to make a decision for this to happen. The president has to make the decision for that to happen. People were calling. I never called one person. I kept true to my word. Any conversation I had, it was just going to be with him. I never made one call.&#8221;

The response appeared to add more context to Pelosi&#8217;s comments in a recent <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nancy-pelosi-on-political-violence-advice-for-kamala-harris-running-against-trump/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview for CBS</a>. Journalist Lesley Stahl told Pelosi it had been said that Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hes-furious-at-you-pelosi-grilled-about-dem-mutiny-against-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was &#8220;furious&#8221; with her</a>, ostensibly for not having the president&#8217;s back. Pelosi denied she was &#8220;a leader of any pressure party,&#8221; and insisted she &#8220;did not call one person.&#8221; Also during the CBS interview that aired last weekend, Pelosi suggested Biden&#8217;s face <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-suggests-adding-biden-to-mount-rushmore" target="_blank" rel="noopener">should be added</a> to Mount Rushmore.
A number of Democrats had been publicly urging Biden to end his campaign by the time he stepped aside. Pelosi was not one of them, though she did tell Biden in private that polls showed he could not defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 contest and warned the president he could hurt other Democrats in down-ticket races if he did not bow out, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/17/politics/nancy-pelosi-biden-conversation/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to CNN</a>. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) similarly did not publicly break with Biden but <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/schumer-forcefully-told-biden-he-should-drop-his-re-election-bid-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly used a meeting to discourage</a> the president from staying in the race.
&#8220;They said I was burning up the lines, I was talking to Chuck [Schumer]. I didn’t talk to Chuck at all,&#8221; Pelosi told Remnick during their conversation. &#8220;I never called one person, but people were calling me saying that there was a challenge there. So there had to be a change in the leadership of the campaign, or what would come next.&#8221;
Remnick wrote that Pelosi acknowledged she had not been in contact with Biden since the Sunday on which he announced his exit from the 2024 contest via a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-drops-out-of-presidential-race" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter posted to X</a>. Asked whether her relationship with Biden would survive, Pelosi did not appear certain. &#8220;I hope so,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I pray so. I cry so.&#8221; Pelosi claimed she had lost sleep on it. She said her goal was simply to make sure Trump &#8220;would never set foot in the White House again.&#8221;

Democrat vice presidential candidate Minnesota Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-expected-to-tap-minnesota-governor-tim-walz-as-running-mate?topStoryPosition=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tim Walz</a> once said that he was so pro-abortion that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested that he moderate his position. 
When Walz first ran for governor back in 2018, he joked about his extreme views on abortion.
“My record is so pro-choice Nancy Pelosi asked me if I should tone it down,” he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR5-262ucWI" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “I stand with Planned Parenthood.” 
Walz, <a href="https://nrlc.org/communications/kamala-harris-picks-minnesota-governor-tim-walz/#:~:text=During%20his%20time%20in%20Congress,from%20National%20Right%20to%20Life." target="_blank" rel="noopener">who was</a> in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, has a 0% pro-life score from the National Right to Life. After he voted for a bill in 2018 that would protect babies who survive botched abortions, he apologized and said that he had accidentally voted for the measure.
“Accidentally voted for HR4712 today,” he <a href="https://x.com/RepTimWalz/status/954442148073689088?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E954442148073689088%7Ctwgr%5E456ce1127e97f2c664d721f2f43c68cadb49fc55%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fa9beac89-0dd6-4475-b797-a9868170e7bd.usrfiles.com%2Fhtml%2F2b2e4b_d767b483cae16e027c4ea8ac7906fbf4.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “It was an honest mistake. I meant to vote NO, as I did on an identical bill last Congress. My apologies for the confusion. I&#8217;ll keep fighting for women&#8217;s access to health care.”
The <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/4712" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bill</a> would have required doctors to care for babies who were born alive after failed abortions and charge doctors with murder if they end the life of the baby outside of the womb.

As governor, Walz <a href="https://apnews.com/article/abortion-politics-minnesota-state-government-timothy-walz-11c3b1d5269c929e442b979ff1bac73b#:~:text=January%2031%2C%202023-,ST.,who%20sits%20on%20future%20courts." target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a measure in January 2023 that effectively removed all restrictions on abortions. Republican lawmakers said the law would allow for abortions at any stage of pregnancy. 
“Every individual has a fundamental right to make autonomous decisions about the individual’s own reproductive health, including the fundamental right to use or refuse reproductive health care,” the legislation said. 
Walz’s selection has already drawn criticism from pro-life advocates who say that a Harris-Walz administration would be radical on abortion. 
“If elected, a Harris-Walz Administration would push for the most extreme abortion agenda policies of any administration,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are both radically pro-abortion and see the lives of precious unborn babies as disposable inconveniences.”
The pick was also criticized by Susan B. Anthony President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz make up the most pro-abortion presidential ticket America has ever seen. There is no daylight between them on this issue. Walz is no moderate when it comes to abortion,&#8221; she said, saying that he has signed legislation that &#8220;grossly expanding taxpayer-funded abortion, stripping away the state’s informed consent protections, and significantly weakening protections for babies born alive.&#8221;
