The star of David is painted on the wall of a house formerly inhabited by a jew family. The house is located in the village of Wolleka near Gonder where Ethiopian jews ( falasha) were living till they migrated to Israel. Almost 100.000 falasha have left Ethiopia to Israel, most of them have migrated between 1981 and 2012.

Jewish homes in Paris were targeted by anti-Semites Tuesday as photos show multiple houses spray-painted with the Star of David.

Homes belonging to Jews in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, one of the city’s districts, were graffitied with the Star of David, an anti-Semitic act similar to Nazi Germany’s singling out of Jewish people in the 1930s, Israeli-based i24News reported. The Union of Jewish Students of France posted photos of the homes that were marked and called for those responsible to be found and punished.

“Some want to terrorize French Jews by using the methods of the 1930s,” the Jewish Student Union posted on X. “They must be quickly found and severely punished.”

The American Jewish Committee also brought attention to the anti-Semitic actions in Paris, saying that threats and harassment of Jews in France have risen sharply since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.

“Horrifying: Jewish homes in Paris and surrounding areas have been marked with the Star of David, evoking painful memories of the Nazi era,” the American Jewish Committee wrote. “In just three weeks following Hamas’ attack on Israel, France has registered twice the number of antisemitic acts compared to the entire year of 2022.”

Indeed, reports of anti-Semitic attacks and threats are on the rise in Europe and the U.S. after the deadly terrorist attack against Israel earlier this month. Just a week after the attack, Jewish-owned houses in Berlin were marked with the Star of David, and German authorities confirmed they were investigating the marks on suspicion of incitement and hatred.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the world, including the U.S., anti-Israel protestors gathered in cities to voice their support for Palestinians after Hamas attacked Israel, killing more than 1,400 people, including dozens of Americans. In the weeks following Hamas’ attack, anti-Israel demonstrators showed up by the hundreds and thousands in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

Jewish students at multiple American universities have also been targeted by anti-Semites who have condemned Israel following the attack. Jewish students at upstate New York’s Cornell University were reportedly “scared to leave their rooms” on Sunday night after a series of messages threatening extreme violence against them appeared on a website unaffiliated with the Ivy League campus.

Last week, at Manhattan’s Cooper Union College, Jewish students were locked inside the library and reportedly told they could hide in the attic as pro-Palestinian protesters chanted outside the library, calling for the globalization of the Intifada.
