Los Angeles Mayor-elect Karen Bass said one of her daughters was injured Thursday morning in Los Angeles in a hit-and-run incident.

“While driving today, one of my daughters was the victim of a hit and run,” Bass said in a statement to NBC News.

According to local media, the crash involving two white SUVs occurred around 9:00 a.m. in the West Adams neighborhood, which is located about eight miles west of downtown Los Angeles.

NBC reported that police said four men ran from the SUV following the crash. Photos from the scene showed airbags deployed from the vehicle.

An official with the Los Angeles Police Department told Fox 11 that the second vehicle left the scene shortly after the crash.

No arrests have been reported.

Bass said the crash did not “seriously hurt” her daughter, and she is back home after receiving hospital treatment.

“I am grateful for the first responders and health care professionals who ensured her well-being,” Bass said.

According to Bass, the Los Angeles Police Department has begun investigating the circumstances of this incident.

Bass, who beat real estate developer Rick Caruso in a highly contested race for Los Angeles mayor last month, lost a daughter, Emilia Bass-Lechuga, and a son-in-law, Michael Wright, in 2006 in a car crash.

The Los Angeles Times reported Emilia and Michael Wright were married earlier that year after meeting at Loyola Marymount University, where Emilia was due to graduate in December.
