Los Angeles mayoral hopeful Spencer Pratt said he’s not impressed by celebrity endorsements.
The former star of the MTV reality series “The Hills” has drawn the attention of plenty of big names in entertainment and business, with Democrats and Republicans donating to his campaign and encouraging their followers to vote for Pratt. But during a Thursday appearance on Fox News’ “Gutfeld!,” the candidate said regular supporters mean more to him than A-listers.
“You have celebrities that are now coming out in support of you, but they will deny it, won&#8217;t they? Leo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx?” host Greg Gutfeld asked.
Pratt replied, “What I have learned is I actually don&#8217;t want celebrities to come out and endorse me. I don&#8217;t want anybody to endorse me except for the moms and animal lovers in L.A. That&#8217;s my entire vote.”
This inspired the audience to erupt in applause.
He went on, “I&#8217;m cool if no celebrity ever endorses me. I actually love it when they attack me because then I&#8217;m like, oh, I&#8217;m doing so well!”

Gutfeld was referencing comments Pratt made during a Us Weekly <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/spencer-pratt-on-why-running-for-mayor-is-his-destiny/">interview</a> published earlier this week, in which he claimed to have private endorsements from DiCaprio and Foxx. 
“I don’t name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me,” he told the outlet. “Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, ‘Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.’ If their reps try to deny this happened, I have multiple witnesses. It was an out-of-body experience.” 
The outlet added a disclaimer in the article, which said, “Us understands DiCaprio has not publicly or privately endorsed Pratt.”
Other famous names to publicly endorse Pratt for mayor include several of his former co-stars on “The Hills,” including Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari, and Audrina Patridge, plus actor Dennis Quaid, rapper Big Sean, songwriter David Foster, Paris Hilton, and Los Angeles Lakers minority owner and franchise governor Jeanie Buss.
These comments about celebrity endorsements coincide with Pratt’s campaign pulling in millions of dollars in donations, including from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/major-democrat-donors-break-rank-put-their-money-behind-spencer-pratt">major Democrat donors</a> like the Sabans and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos’ wife, Nicole Avant. Pratt is earning significantly more than incumbent mayor Karen Bass and radical candidate Nithya Raman, but that won’t necessarily translate into a win. Prediction markets still rate Pratt&#8217;s chance of winning as a long shot, but his odds have improved in recent weeks.
Bass is currently leading in the polls, but could face a runoff election if she fails to secure 50% of the vote in the primary on June 2.

As seen in the viral videos circulating online, protesters erected tents, scattered trash and old tires, and even set up a barbecue in front of Raman’s multimillion-dollar home.
“This is happening all over the city and we brought it to her doorstep so she can see what other people are going through,” a masked man who said he helped organize the demonstration <a href="https://www.foxla.com/video/fmc-f9f4tav348s167c6">told</a> FOX 11. “We’re basically doing a parody ad for her.”

The man requested anonymity, citing concerns about potential backlash. He said he supports Republican Spencer Pratt in Tuesday&#8217;s primary but is not affiliated with his campaign.
In an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQpp6gwscU">interview</a> with comedian Adam Conover, Raman said she was shocked to find a homeless encampment outside of her house and relieved that her two children did not witness the demonstration.
“This has gone far beyond what I was expecting the campaign to be about,&#8221; she said.
Raman, who represents Los Angeles City Council District 4 and serves as chair of the council&#8217;s Housing and Homelessness Committee, has made homelessness a central issue of her campaign. 
Her campaign <a href="https://www.nithyaforthecity.com/homelessness">promises</a> to cut the number of people living in encampments by half by the 2028 Olympic Games and to develop solutions to eliminate encampments altogether. 
“The most painful crisis facing Los Angeles right now is homelessness,” Raman <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX9n9POuYyy/">said</a> in a campaign ad. “It’s the reason I first decided to run for office. My young children were seeing the crisis on the streets every day. It’s not okay for anyone to be sleeping on the sidewalk in the world’s richest country.”
Critics, however, say that Raman’s record on homelessness has fallen short of her rhetoric. She has <a href="https://cd4.lacity.gov/initiative/homelessness/">highlighted</a> efforts that helped take 500 people off the streets and into interim housing, which is only 0.7% of Los Angeles’s <a href="https://www.lahsa.org/news?article=1051-lahsa-releases-finalized-2025-homeless-count-results-after-hud-review">homeless population</a>. 
She has also faced criticism over more than <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/27/us-news/nithya-raman-abandons-4m-for-homeless-encampment-cleanup-during-run-for-la-mayor/">$4 million</a> in funding for homeless-related efforts that went unspent while campaigning for mayor.

The latest UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times poll shows a tightly contested mayoral race, with incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass polling at 26%, Raman at 25%, and Pratt at 22% among likely voters. The primary is June 2. The top two finishers will advance to the general election if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote.

Spencer Pratt is showing receipts after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass repeatedly dismissed him as a “former reality TV star.”
Pratt fired back by posting a decades-old Los Angeles Times article that referenced Bass traveling to Cuba in the 1970s with the Venceremos Brigade, a communist-linked activist group that intelligence documents accused of teaching “terrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare.”
“When I was in my 20s I was on a TV show,” Pratt wrote on X. “When Karen Bass was in her 20s, she was training in terrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare with communists in Cuba. Back when the L.A. Times was still in L.A., and used to tell the truth…”
The resurfaced Los Angeles Times article from 1983 stated Bass traveled to Cuba with the “6th Contingent of the Venceremos Brigade.”

According to the report, a 1973 intelligence document described the brigade as a group that “trains revolutionary-prone Americans in terrorist tactics and guerrilla warfare while claiming to harvest sugar cane.”
The article also stated Bass, who was described as a brigade leader, “returned from Cuba to the U.S.A. bringing back propaganda literature,” though the report noted the document did not cite the source of that information.
Bass denied wrongdoing at the time and reportedly said her trips to Cuba were educational and “had nothing to do with terrorism.”
Pratt’s post quickly spread across social media, especially in conservative circles where critics accused Bass and her allies of trying to reduce Pratt to a punchline while treating Bass’ own political history with far more caution.
Pratt’s attacks on Bass have escalated since California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom endorsed her. During an appearance on Fox News’ “Saturday in America,” Pratt accused Bass and Newsom of failing Californians while billions were spent on homelessness programs.
“It’s not shocking because they’re alleged criminal partners,” Pratt said. “They’re both complicit in laundering $24 billion to actually increase homelessness.”
Pratt also argued that Los Angeles residents can clearly see conditions worsening despite years of spending and promises from state leaders.
“Anybody with eyeballs in the state of California or Los Angeles knows that there has not been a reduction in one homeless person,” Pratt said. “Actually there’s been an increase of naked drug addict zombies in front of every kid’s playground, every kid’s school, every coffee shop.”
The exchange marks the latest escalation in the increasingly personal political fight between Bass and Pratt as the Los Angeles mayoral race continues heating up.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has received donations from some of Hollywood’s most prominent Democrat supporters despite running on a platform that leans heavily on conservative talking points.
It was revealed earlier this month that major Democrat donors Haim and Cheryl Saban, billionaires who have a major financial impact on the party, donated the maximum amount of $1,800 to Pratt. 
Nicole Avant, another prominent Democrat supporter and wife of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, has also pledged to support Pratt for mayor. So has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nba-champ-dunks-on-karen-bass-bets-on-spencer-pratt-to-win-la-mayoral-race">Jeanie Buss</a>, the Lakers’ minority owner and franchise governor, who also made the max donation of $1,800 to Pratt’s campaign.
As The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/14/business/dealbook/spencer-pratt-ceo-support.html">reported</a>, Elliot Grainge, the CEO of Atlantic Records and Sofia Richie&#8217;s husband, also made a donation to Pratt’s campaign. So did billionaire financier Dan Loeb and former CEO of Activision Blizzard Bobby Kotick; Jeffrey Sprecher, CEO of Intercontinental Exchange and chairman of the New York Stock Exchange; and cryptocurrency entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
The former reality star, a registered Republican who said he voted for Trump in 2024, has publicly stated that he doesn’t identify with either party.
“All my supporters in Los Angeles are Democrats,” he <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spencer-pratt-compares-fledgling-political-career-to-obama-national-rise/">told</a> CBS. “Everyone I know, my family, are all Democrats.” 
The mayoral hopeful <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spencer-pratt-compares-fledgling-political-career-to-obama-national-rise/">told</a> NBC earlier this month, “I do not represent a party. I don’t have a campaign manager. I don’t have campaign consultants. There’s no political party backing me.”
The former &#8220;Hills&#8221; star is polling second behind Bass ahead of the June 2 primary. While Pratt’s odds of winning have increased dramatically in recent months, he still faces an uphill battle in the Democrat stronghold. The last time a Republican won a mayoral race in Los Angeles was in 1997.

WASHINGTON, May 26 (Reuters) &#8211; The U.S. Department of Justice&#8217;s Civil Rights Division filed a lawsuit against the University of California, Los Angeles on Tuesday, claiming it tolerated a hostile educational environment for Jewish and Israeli students.
In its complaint, the Justice Department accused UCLA of violating Title VI &#8211; a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance &#8211; &#8220;through its deliberate indifference to this pervasive on-campus antisemitism.&#8221;
The lawsuit pointed to an encampment that was built on the university&#8217;s campus in April 2024. The Justice Department described the move as illegal and said that Jewish students were attacked.
&#8220;Universities have an obligation to maintain safe and inclusive campuses for all students,&#8221; said Bill Essayli, the first assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California.
&#8220;Universities that violate our nation’s civil rights laws by repeatedly failing to shield Jewish students from antisemitism will be held accountable.&#8221;
UCLA REJECTS ALLEGATIONS
UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk rejected the allegations, saying the university had taken concrete steps to combat antisemitism on campus.
&#8220;Let me be direct: the suggestion that UCLA has been passive in the face of antisemitism is simply wrong,&#8221; Frenk said in a statement. &#8220;Combating antisemitism is a moral imperative — one rooted, for me, in personal history that makes indifference unthinkable.&#8221;
Frenk said the university had recruited an associate vice chancellor for campus and community safety, reorganized its civil rights office, appointed a Title VI officer, and strengthened policies to protect free expression and campus safety.
Frenk had introduced a campus-wide initiative to combat antisemitism, which issued a report in May outlining a roadmap to address campus antisemitism and bigotry.
In February 2025, the university suspended two leftist student groups, Students for Justice in Palestine and Graduate Students for Justice in Palestine, over their involvement in a protest at the home of University of California regent Jay Sures. The following month, the university recommended revoking SJP&#8217;s status and suspending GSJP for four years.
TRUMP ADMINISTRATION CRACKDOWN ON ANTISEMITISM
The Justice Department announced the lawsuit shortly after a federal appeals court earlier on Tuesday partially upheld an injunction that required it to restore grants awarded to the University of California that the Trump administration had terminated last year because it perceived they supported diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI.
The lawsuit is the latest legal action taken by the Trump administration to crack down on what it has described as antisemitism at U.S. universities in the wake of Hamas&#8217; October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.
The 2023 attack, which resulted in the deaths of more than 1,200 people, launched the Israel-Gaza war.
Hundreds of students across the United States and Europe held demonstrations in the wake of the war, calling for a ceasefire to end it. In some cases, students occupied campus buildings.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is getting dunked on by former Los Angeles Laker Kyle Kuzma, who is having a &#8220;Pratt Summer.&#8221;
The NBA player is putting his money where he hopes common sense is and placing a big bet on Spencer Pratt to win the Los Angeles mayoral race.
Kuzma, who won the NBA championship with the LA Lakers in 2020, posted on <a href="https://x.com/kylekuzma/status/2058970366039527711?s=20">X</a> over the weekend his bet slip, which showed the current Milwaukee Bucks power forward put more than $36,000 on Pratt to win, with the payout being $133,588.89 if the former reality star beats incumbent Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.
Kalshi has Bass as the favorite with a 70% chance of winning, with Pratt at 28% and Raman a distant third at 5.9% as of Tuesday morning.
&#8220;For my parlay papis I’m going big on Spencer Pratt,&#8221; Kuzma wrote beside an American flag emoji.

Kuzma isn’t a stranger to LA. He played for the Lakers from 2017 to 2021, which included the pandemic. And despite being engaged to fashion model Winnie Harlow, who is signed to CAA out of Los Angeles, Kuzma chooses to spend the off-season in Florida, not the “Golden State.”
The NBA star doubled down on his Pratt for LA stance Tuesday, sharing a long-form interview Pratt did on the &#8220;All-In&#8221; podcast recently, where the outsider discusses LA’s rampant homelessness, corruption, and lack of leadership.
Kuzma captioned the <a href="https://x.com/kylekuzma/status/2059257100279107769?s=20">video</a>, &#8220;Good watch when you have the time.&#8221;
Pratt is a registered Republican, though he is running as an independent.
Kuzma isn’t the only person with ties to the Lakers who is all in on &#8220;The Hills&#8221; star. Jeanie Buss, the Lakers&#8217; minority owner and current governor, made the max donation of $1,800 to Pratt’s campaign last month.
Despite her contributions, Buss hasn’t publicly endorsed Pratt, according to <a href="https://www.foxla.com/news/lakers-jeanie-buss-la-mayoral-race-spencer-pratt">Fox 11.</a> But like her former player, her money is doing the talking.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt ripped Chelsea Handler and Drew Carey on Monday for alleged Jeffrey Epstein connections in a viral post on X.

The post included a screenshot of an alleged 2002 email from TV writer Jeff Davis to Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate and co-conspirator of the late convicted sex offender. &#8220;I was having dinner tonight with Drew Carey &#8230; and we&#8217;re talking about our encounter with you,&#8221; the email said.
Pratt also included a clip of comedian Shane Gillis talking about Handler having dinner with Epstein in 2010. &#8220;Chelsea Handler went to dinner at Jeffrey Epstein&#8217;s house in 2010,&#8221; Gillis says in the clip. &#8220;It wasn&#8217;t like a big party, there were like seven people there — it was like Prince Andrew and Woody Allen were there.&#8221;

The left-wing comedians attacked Pratt personally in recent days, with Handler trashing the former reality star for being &#8220;a straight white male&#8221; with no government experience, and Carey calling Pratt a &#8220;serial scammer.&#8221;
“This is a reminder that a straight white male former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate,” Handler said in a video posted to social media. “Have we learned anything yet? Pratt, speaking with CNN&#8217;s Elex Michaelson, said that he wanted to build a rehabilitation center for homeless addicts — a move that he argues would swiftly and dramatically cut down the number of homeless in L.A. — similar to a training center for military veterans operating in Bentonville, Arkansas.
&#8220;You don’t get off these drugs with beds,&#8221; Pratt said, digging at incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass, whose plan was to throw more money, clean needles, and shelters at the problem. &#8220;You need support. You need a real solution. And what’s happening? We’ve done it now, what, for 10 years. Their plan does not work. Their experience is complete failure. This is not Spencer saying this. This is every single person with eyeballs driving around L.A.&#8221;
Instead, Pratt argues that the treatment should be mandatory and that those in treatment should be pushed not just toward recovery but toward the skills and discipline that will help them succeed.
&#8220;If they want to come back to the city, we have a job for them — not just a bed off Skid Row,” Pratt explained. “They’re sober off fentanyl for two days, they go into a bed, they come out right back on to where all the drugs [are]. We need to actually help these people and get that back into society.&#8221;
The model is the <a href="https://uhp.com">University of Health and Performance (UHP)</a>, a 19-day immersive training program designed to help veterans transition from military to civilian life. Tuition, meals, health and fitness instruction, and lodging are all free — and veterans leave with the confidence and skills to build a new civilian life.
Pratt told Michaelson he was eyeing property in &#8220;beautiful nature&#8221; and had already approached several people about helping fund the project. In addition, he said he wanted to bring in &#8220;top doctors&#8221; to make sure he was doing things the right way, because he wanted the center to become &#8220;a shining light of hope.&#8221;
&#8220;You need to offer people a chance,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s going to be somewhere where people will go, and they will say, &#8216;Thank God for Spencer.'&#8221;
Pratt <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reality-tv-star-spencer-pratt-obliterates-leftist-policies-in-heated-l-a-mayoral-debate">squared off</a> with his opponents during a recent televised debate, arguing that Bass had done little to solve the problem and that Democratic socialist Councilwoman Nithya Raman&#8217;s offer of help was likely to be met by violence from addicts just looking for another fix.

Los Angeles Republican mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt revealed that his political role model is &#8220;Jesus Christ&#8221; — and that the modern politician with whom he most identified was former President Barack Obama.
Pratt, during an interview with CNN&#8217;s Elex Michaelson, discussed everything from why he decided to run for mayor in the first place and what led him to become a Republican to his plan to manage the homelessness crisis — and he got candid about political comparisons and role models.

&#8220;Who is your political role model?&#8221; Michaelson asked the question directly.
Without a second&#8217;s hesitation, Pratt replied, &#8220;Jesus Christ.&#8221;
&#8220;Okay, I mean —&#8221; Michaelson tried to reframe the question.
&#8220;He was a politician, you know, he had to go in and —&#8221; Pratt defended his response.
Michaelson tried a different tack: &#8220;Are there any modern politicians that you&#8217;re especially studying or drawn to that —&#8221;
&#8220;No, no, no,&#8221; Pratt was insistent. &#8220;I am not a politician. I don&#8217;t want to be a politician. I want to be a fighter for the people.&#8221;
&#8220;But you&#8217;ve mentioned, though, that —&#8221; Michaelson pressed again, and Pratt interrupted.
&#8220;Obama, yeah,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;m most similar to Obama. And I know &#8216;The View&#8217; ladies said that I don&#8217;t have a law degree, so I&#8217;m gonna work on that online in the next — before November — I probably can get one, and do the Baby Bar.&#8221;
Pratt argued that he was most similar to Obama because he viewed the former president as first and foremost a community advocate — and that was also how he thought of himself.
The former MTV reality star — in the mayoral race because of the fallout from the deadly Palisades fire that took his home — also explained during that same interview how he had come to be a Republican in a town teeming with young liberals.
It was all about his own personal safety, he said, explaining that when he&#8217;d been on MTV&#8217;s &#8220;The Hills,&#8221; his personal security team had advised him to get a firearm for his own protection. He and his wife, Heidi Montag, had done so and had learned in the process that Republicans were the ones supporting their right to do that.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate and reality TV star Spencer Pratt opened up about the personal experience that led him to register as a Republican.
In an interview that aired Wednesday night, CNN anchor Elex Michaelson asked Pratt point-blank, “Why are you a Republican?”
Pratt, best known for his role on MTV’s 2000s-era reality series &#8220;The Hills,&#8221; teased the revelation by saying, “You want to break some news here? This is the first time I’ve ever said this, so this is breaking news. Everyone’s going to freak out.”
&#8220;When I was a hated reality star, I got so many death threats, I had so much security and police, and what did they tell me to do? Get a gun,&#8221; Pratt said. &#8220;I know people don&#8217;t like guns, but L.A. was dangerous if you&#8217;re hated, so I got a gun. My wife got a gun, and then we needed [concealed carry permits].&#8221;

Pratt said only Republican candidates supported concealed carry rights, a key pillar of the Second Amendment that many Democrats oppose. In 2022, the <a href="https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/597/20-843/case.pdf">U.S. Supreme Court ruled</a> that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to carry a concealed handgun outside the home for self-defense.
&#8220;That was what I aligned with: my safety, my personal safety, my family&#8217;s safety. I know people don&#8217;t like guns, but when people are threatening your life and your own security is telling you, you need to have home protection &#8230; that&#8217;s it,&#8221; Pratt said.
Pratt, running in deep-blue Los Angeles, acknowledged gun rights represent a &#8220;hot button&#8221; issue, but vowed to use law enforcement to protect sensitive sites. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m also going to be the mayor that puts LAPD in front of every school to make schools safe from guns,&#8221; he said, not backing down on his position. &#8220;I know people don&#8217;t like guns, and we need to make everything, especially schools, safe, but that is where I connect to, and once you feel fear, and it&#8217;s real, you want to protect your family.&#8221; 
Beyond the cameras and Hollywood studios, Pratt is criss-crossing the City of Angels, meeting wildfire victims in the Pacific Palisades and <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/20/us-news/spencer-pratt-trades-the-debate-stage-for-bbq-in-south-la/">firing up the grill</a> with voters in South L.A. 
One voter, frustrated by what she described as Karen Bass’ inaction, pledged her support for Spencer Pratt.
&#8220;Karen Bass is not doing anything; she&#8217;s been bullsh*tting us,&#8221; the voter said, detailing her daughter&#8217;s painful drug addiction. &#8220;My daughter needs the help. They put her in jail. No treatment, no medicine, and we need more than that.&#8221; 
“She’s not homeless — she has a mother — but she’s downtown right now, walking around, and people probably don’t think she has a mother who loves her,” the emotional woman said as she embraced Spencer Pratt in a hug.
Pratt is set to face incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass and far-Left Councilwoman Nithya Raman in the June 2 mayoral primary.

Spencer Pratt, the once-infamous &#8220;The Hills&#8221; villain turned viral political outsider, is suddenly within striking distance of becoming mayor of Los Angeles, and the new numbers are the kind that should make City Hall break into a cold sweat.
New Cygnal <a href="https://www.cygn.al/news/la-mayor-poll-pratt-within-striking-distance-bass-remains-flat/">polling</a> released this week shows Pratt climbing to 25% support once voters hear more about the race, putting him tied with incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, whose numbers remain completely flat.
That’s a brutal position for an incumbent mayor in a city where voters increasingly believe everything is spiraling in the wrong direction.
Just 30% of voters say Los Angeles is headed the right way, while 58% say the city is on the wrong track.
Their top frustrations? Cost of living, homelessness, and corruption, essentially the entire modern Los Angeles experience.
Cygnal CEO Brent Buchanan said Bass appears “flat, capped out,” while Pratt still has room to grow, particularly among independents, men, and Northeast Valley voters.
And suddenly, what once looked like a Hollywood punchline is starting to look like a genuine outsider campaign.
Pratt has built much of his campaign around viral videos blasting Los Angeles leadership over crime, homelessness, drugs, and wildfire failures, while positioning himself as the anti-establishment candidate in a city voters increasingly feel has been badly mismanaged.
The whole thing even caught President Donald Trump’s attention during a recent exchange with Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan.
“Do you see yourself in him at all? A former reality TV star?” Olohan asked Trump.
“I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character. I don’t know. I don’t know him. I assume he probably supports me,” Trump replied. 
When Olohan said she believed Pratt did support him, Trump leaned into the comparison.
“I heard he does,” Trump said. “I heard he’s a big MAGA person. He’s doing well.”

Trump then pivoted into criticism of California’s voting system, arguing the state’s elections are “very dishonest” because of widespread mail-in voting.
“If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California,” Trump said.
And honestly, there’s a reason Democrats may be getting a little uncomfortable watching this unfold.
After all, Democrats once laughed off a reality TV star named Donald Trump, too. That worked out great for them.
Trump famously turned “The Apprentice” into a political launchpad before bulldozing his way into the White House. Now, a former reality TV villain with frosted hair and a crystal obsession is mounting his own outsider-style political rise in a city where voters appear increasingly fed up with establishment leadership.
Meanwhile, Pratt’s candidacy is already rattling Democrats enough that far-Left Los Angeles Councilwoman Nithya Raman recently warned supporters Trump was “about to endorse Spencer” while urging donors to stop a “MAGA Republican mayor.” 
Pratt responded with an eye-roll GIF from a mayoral debate.
Which honestly feels like the most Spencer Pratt political response imaginable.
But beneath the memes and reality TV history, there’s something much bigger happening here: voters in one of America’s bluest cities appear so frustrated with the status quo that they’re willing to seriously consider a celebrity outsider promising to clean things up.
And for Democrats in Los Angeles, that may be the biggest reality check of all.

President Donald Trump told The Daily Wire Wednesday morning that he would like to see former reality TV star Spencer Pratt “do well” in his upstart bid to become mayor of Los Angeles. 
Trump made the comments when talking to reporters before boarding Air Force One to speak to members of the Coast Guard in Connecticut. Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan asked Trump if he saw any part of himself in Pratt, who is running a surprisingly strong campaign to lead the heavily Democratic city. 
“Do you see yourself in him at all? A former reality TV star?” Olohan asked. 
“I&#8217;d like to see him do well. He’s a character. I don&#8217;t know. I don&#8217;t know him. I assume he probably supports me,” Trump said. “Does he support me?”
“I think so,” Olohan replied. 
“I heard he does,” Trump said. “I heard he&#8217;s a big MAGA person. He&#8217;s doing well. I don&#8217;t know. You know, you have a rigged vote out there, that&#8217;s the problem. The votes are rigged. You have a really rigged vote in California. You have all the mail-in ballots, everything else. Very hard to win, because the elections are very dishonest.”

Trump then claimed he would have won California in 2024 if the election had been fair.
“If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes, I would have won California because I do great with Hispanics. But it&#8217;s a rigged vote,” he said, adding that “California&#8217;s one of the most dishonest states for voting.”
Pratt, who is running on cracking down on crime and getting homeless people off the streets, is challenging incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and far-Left councilwoman Nithya Raman. 
Raman claimed on Saturday that Trump was poised to endorse Pratt. 
“Donald Trump is about to endorse Spencer,” she said. “Tonight is the fundraising deadline, and we need to raise more to prove that LA doesn&#8217;t want a MAGA Republican mayor who lives in the Bel Air hotel.”
Pratt responded to that post with a GIF of him rolling his eyes during the mayoral debate earlier this month.
