<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lindsay-lohan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lindsay Lohan</a> calls motherhood the &#8220;kind of love&#8221; she never thought she&#8217;d know after welcoming a son into the world in 2023.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsay-lohans-going-to-be-a-mom" target="_blank" rel="noopener">37-year-old</a> actress, who is back to making romantic comedies after nearly a decade away from the genre, said she&#8217;s changed since becoming a mom to her eight-month-old son Luai, <a href="https://www.bustle.com/entertainment/lindsay-lohan-irish-wish-interview?utm_source=instagram&amp;utm_medium=owned&amp;utm_campaign=bustle&amp;utm_content=later-41714717">Bustle magazine</a> reported.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a whole new, different kind of love you thought you could never experience,&#8221; Lohan told the outlet after putting her son down for a nap and texting her husband, financier Bader Shammas, to make sure Luai had settled in before she did the interview.

Lohan&#8217;s reentry into Hollywood came with an appearance in the &#8220;Mean Girls&#8221; reboot when she was six months pregnant. Keeping family close for her projects, she traveled with her husband and son to shoot her third Netflix film, a Christmas movie co-starring Kristin Chenoweth and Tim Meadows. 
&#8220;I had a scene where I was crying, and then my husband surprised me with the baby on set, so then I was crying again, happy tears,&#8221; Lohan explained of being a mom and working.
Lohan left Hollywood for a life in Dubai and said she had to disappear to find herself, a partner, and the chance to be a mom.
&#8220;I was like, &#8216;What if I never fall in love? What if this never happens?'&#8221; Lohan said. &#8220;And it took me just taking time for me for all those doors to open and the &#8216;yeses&#8217; to come — the things I wanted to say &#8216;yes&#8217; to.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;ve always been close with my younger siblings, and I&#8217;ve always had a very maternal instinct,&#8221; she added. &#8220;The parents kind of give that [responsibility] to [oldest children], too.&#8221;
The &#8220;Freaky Friday&#8221; star admitted that motherhood has even changed how she views her body image, something she used to struggle with.
&#8220;I was so attached to [Luai] that my last thought was going on a treadmill,&#8221; Lohan said. &#8220;I feel like we put so much pressure on ourselves to have to look &#8216;good&#8217; so soon, but you look so beautiful [postpartum]. Give yourself time.&#8221;

And as far as moving back to Hollywood now that her acting career has taken off again, Lohan made it clear she&#8217;s not committed to living in Los Angeles this time around.
&#8220;We&#8217;re probably going to start to spend more time here [in the United States],&#8221; the actress said. &#8220;But as for where the family&#8217;s home base will be, We&#8217;re not sure yet. We&#8217;re still deciding. We&#8217;re looking now.&#8221;
In November 2021, Lohan announced on Instagram that the couple was engaged. A year later, a representative for Lohan confirmed to <a href="https://people.com/parents/lindsay-lohan-husband-bader-shammas-expecting-first-baby/?hid=4f90b78dc31e627328d98338e1fa49d03b364abc&amp;did=8571174-20230314&amp;utm_campaign=ppl-breakingnews_relationship-builder&amp;utm_source=ppl&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=031423&amp;lctg=4f90b78dc31e627328d98338e1fa49d03b364abc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a> magazine that the actress had tied the knot with the financier in April.
