White House Press Secretary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/karine-jean-pierre" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Karine Jean-Pierre</a> said on Friday that Special Counsel Robert Hur&#8217;s remarks about Biden&#8217;s mental fitness — mainly his serious memory issues — do &#8220;not live in reality.&#8221;
Hur&#8217;s remarks were contained in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/special-counsel-biden-willfully-retained-disclosed-classified-materials-but-no-criminal-charges-warranted" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report on his criminal investigation</a> into Biden&#8217;s handling of classified material, which said that Biden should not be charged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/special-counsel-biden-has-significantly-limited-memory-didnt-remember-when-he-was-vp-or-when-son-died" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in part because</a> no jury would ever convict him because he was an elderly man with a &#8220;poor memory.&#8221;
&#8220;If the special counsel says President Biden has significant limitations on memory, then who is helping him run the country?&#8221; a reporter asked Jean-Pierre during Friday&#8217;s press briefing.
&#8220;The President of the United States runs the country,&#8221; she responded. &#8220;The commander-in-chief runs the country.&#8221;
&#8220;How can he be trusted with nuclear codes?&#8221; the reporter pressed. &#8220;I get that you are saying nobody in the building would say they have an issue with his memory, but just the little part of what we get to see, he has made mistake after mistake after mistake on camera this week.&#8221;
Jean-Pierre responded, &#8220;I want to be very clear here. The reality is, that report, that part of the report does not live in reality. It just doesn&#8217;t.&#8221;
When asked if the special counsel was &#8220;lying&#8221; about Biden&#8217;s memory, Jean-Pierre claimed that the special counsel&#8217;s remarks were &#8220;gratuitous.&#8221;
&#8220;It is unacceptable. And it does not live in reality,&#8221; she claimed. &#8220;That is just the facts.&#8221;
