King Charles III has made a decision about whether to invite Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle to his coronation in May — a decision that follows the ex-working royal’s tell-all memoir “Spare” that took aim at his family and more.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared with The Sunday Times that the couple has been invited to the royal event, Page Six reported.
“I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation,” a spokesperson for the Sussex’s shared.
EXCLUSIVE – The King HAS now invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the Coronation but they haven’t decided whether to attend. The invite comes as Harry says sharing his trauma is an "act of service", using drugs helped him heal and Meghan “saved” him https://t.co/emGpEu5njN

The Royal Editor for the outlet, Roya Nikkoh, also tweeted a response from the spokesperson saying that the couple has yet to share whether they will be attending or not.
“An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time,” the tweet read.

The King ascended the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II at 96. Charles formally becomes the head of the monarchy on May 6 when he’s crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey.
Relations between the royal couple and the family have not been the best following Harry and Markle’s initial decision to step down from their senior roles in January of 2020. In January 2023, the prince released his tell-all memoir that took aim at Harry’s brother and sister-in-law the Prince and Princess of Wales along with his father King Charles, as previously reported.
In the memoir, the royal blames the media for destroying his relationship with his family, writing, “How lost we are, I thought. How far we’ve strayed. How much damage has been done to our love, our bond, and why? All because a dreadful mob of dweebs and crones and cut-rate criminals and clinically diagnosable sadists along Fleet Street feel the need to get their jollies and plump their profits — and work out their personal issues — by tormenting one very large, very ancient, very dysfunctional family.'”

Following The Sunday Times report, podcast host Megyn Kelly tweeted “Look at these pathetic money-grubbing spotlight addicts — King Charles invites them to the coronation despite their mean-girl betrayals and it’s ‘we’ll have to think about it.’ As if they have [something] better to do, and as if they would ever miss the chance to see themselves on cam.”

Foreign Policy analyst Nile Gardiner had similar thoughts on the topic: “It is simply staggering that Prince Harry retains his Royal title as Duke of Sussex. He should be nowhere near the King’s Coronation.”
