Prince Harry is getting backlash for his appearance on Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” on Wednesday night, even getting booed by the audience for making a quip about President Trump.
The estranged British royal family member participated in an awkward skit. “I genuinely thought this was the audition for the Gingerbread Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska,” Meghan Markle’s husband said while coming out onto the stage.
Harry joked he wanted to go into acting because he knew Americans were “obsessed” with Christmas movies and royalty. Colbert pretended to disagree, prompting Prince Harry to say, “Really? I heard you elected a king.”

Even Colbert’s audience reacted to the joke with booing and other noises of dissent. 
“That’s a fair point, he’s got a point,” the late show host told the crowd.
“And often making such a big deal about my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather George III,” Harry added, referencing the king of Great Britain during the American Revolution.
While Trump’s name was only referenced once, the Duke of Sussex alluded to him again during his appearance while saying all the things he&#8217;d do to become a Hallmark movie prince. 
“I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House. All the things you people on TV do,” Harry said, referencing the $16 million settlement Paramount paid Trump over the editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris ahead of last year’s election.

“Harry, I didn’t do any of those things,” Colbert said.
“Maybe that’s why you’re canceled,” the British royal replied.
Colbert and Prince Harry ended their cringe skit by embracing awkwardly as fake snow fell on them. 
Some Americans have called on Trump to add Prince Harry to his list of people to deport, but the president addressed the matter earlier this year, joking about the British royal’s marriage.

Although Trump has not targeted Prince Harry for deportation, he has been vocal about his feelings for the self-exiled royal. In February 2024, Trump accused former President Joe Biden’s administration of “protecting Harry” and said he couldn’t promise the same.
“He betrayed the queen. That’s unforgivable,” President Trump told the U.K.’s Daily Express in an interview at the time. 
The royal couple has also voiced negative feelings about Trump over the years. During the 2016 presidential race, Markle called the president “divisive” and “misogynistic,” prompting Trump to call her statements about him “nasty.”
In 2020, Trump said he wasn’t “a fan” of Markle.
“I’m not a fan of hers and I would say this, and she probably has heard that, but I wish a lot of luck to Harry … because he’s going to need it,&#8221; Trump said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have their multi-year deal with Netflix renewed when it expires in September, according to a <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/royals/35969847/prince-harry-meghan-netflix-deal-axed/">report</a> from The Sun.
The royal couple has launched several projects with the streaming giant since the announcement of their $100 million deal in 2020. These specials and shows have had varying degrees of success, with the 2022 docuseries “Harry &amp; Meghan” remaining the most popular among them. 
Meanwhile, other projects, such as Prince Harry’s “Polo” and Markle’s lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan,” have failed to capture the attention of Netflix’s audience. In a recent <a href="https://about.netflix.com/en/news/what-we-watched-the-first-half-of-2025">Engagement Report</a> put out by the streamer, the “Polo” documentary was listed as number 3,436 on the list of shows ranked by most-watched, while Markle’s new series came in at number 383.
A second season of “With Love, Meghan” has already been filmed and is set to debut in September. Her first <a href="https://people.com/chrissy-teigen-appear-season-2-meghan-markle-netflix-series-with-love-meghan-11736557">confirmed</a> guest star is Chrissy Teigen.
“There’s no animosity from either side,” an unnamed source told The Sun of Netflix’s decision not to renew the contract. “Things have just run their course.”
The insider also discussed why “Harry &amp; Meghan” was the most successful project so far. 
“Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair,&#8221; the source said, noting that the partnership ending represents a &#8220;huge loss of revenue.&#8221;
“They’re not unhappy with how things turned out — they got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time,&#8221; the insider added. 
Prince Harry and Markle have had a hard time achieving fame and success in the United States after quitting their full-time working royal roles in 2020 and moving to California permanently. Critics have been vocal in their distaste, as reflected on social media after news of the Netflix partnership&#8217;s end came to light.
“Good. The grifters are out of business,” one person <a href="https://x.com/TerryinSoCalif/status/1948052133389213733">wrote</a>, echoing what many others were saying.

Prince Harry sat down for an interview in California with the BBC one day after losing an appeal to reinstate his security detail in the United Kingdom.
The former working British royal, who quit his official duties and fled to California with his actress wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, said he was very upset at the outcome.
&#8220;I&#8217;m devastated &#8211; not so much as devastated with the loss that I am about the people behind the decision, feeling as though this is okay. Is it a win for them?&#8221; Prince Harry said.
&#8220;I&#8217;m sure there are some people out there, probably most likely the people that wish me harm, [who] consider this a huge win,” he added.
Harry, 40, said his father, King Charles, &#8220;won&#8217;t speak to me because of this security stuff.” He also alluded to the king’s current cancer battle, saying he did &#8220;not know how much longer my father has,” per <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8074n5z597o">BBC</a>.
“I can&#8217;t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,&#8221; the Duke of Sussex said during the interview. 
&#8220;There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,&#8221; he continued, saying that he has &#8220;forgiven&#8221; them.
&#8220;I would love reconciliation with my family. There&#8217;s no point continuing to fight anymore, life is precious,&#8221; Prince Harry said, insisting that the security argument has &#8220;always been the sticking point.&#8221;
Markle and Harry share two children: Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4. The Duchess of Sussex did not address the interview, but did share a black and white photo on Instagram of her husband and the children facing away from the camera.

As for losing the court battle to reinstate security, Prince Harry said, “The things that they’re going to miss is, well, everything. I love my country &#8230; Despite what some people in that country have done.”

Gwyneth Paltrow had some fun with rumors that she&#8217;s been feuding with Meghan Markle, and posted a video featuring the two ladies visiting together.
It started when social media users thought a video Paltrow posted of herself in her kitchen cooking with no makeup on was a subtle dig at Markle’s new lifestyle Netflix series &#8220;With Love, Meghan.” Markle has faced criticism and dismal reviews that have panned the royal’s show as a disaster and pointless.
She captioned it, “My cleaner take on a classic breakfast: gluten-free buttermilk biscuits, not-so-perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and crispy bacon<a href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/boyfriendbreakfast/"> #boyfriendbreakfast</a>.”
In response fans wrote things like, &#8220;Love this. No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends just your beautiful true self. Following all the online chatter about the two being involved in some kind of feud, the “Goop” founder posted a video on her Instagram Stories, answering one fan&#8217;s question that read, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”
In the clip, Paltrow said, “I genuinely do not understand this, at all whatsoever. Do you understand this?”
She then pans the camera over to a person sitting there with her — and it&#8217;s the Duchess of Sussex, eating some pie. In response, she just shrugs her shoulders, smirks, and appears to start laughing.
The online rumors followed an interview the Marvel star did recently with <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/story/gwyneth-paltrow-2025-interview">Vanity Fair</a> when she was asked if she knew her royal Montecito neighbors.
&#8220;I don’t know Meghan and [Prince]Harry,&#8221; the actress said. &#8220;I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.&#8221;
She was also pressed about Markle’s lifestyle series, and as someone who found her way into that lane after her acting career with her “Goop” brand, Paltrow said there was plenty of space.
&#8220;There’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them,” the actress said. &#8220;I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.&#8221;
Markle’s eight-episode series debuted on Netflix in March, and the duchess recently shared the news that it would be coming back for a second season. Prince Harry and his friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho have announced that they’re resigning as patrons of their beloved charity Sentebale, a decision they both describe as “devastating.&#8221;
The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso established Sentebale in 2006 in memory of their late mothers. The charity <a href="https://sentebale.org/what-we-do/">provided</a> “comprehensive support for children and young people, including those living with HIV/AIDS, covering healthcare, critical life skills, education, advocacy, and climate resistance” in Lesotho and other areas of Africa.
Prince Harry established the charity to honor his mother, the late Princess Diana, who was also known for her efforts in helping the AIDS community in Africa.
In a joint statement, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso said, &#8220;What’s transpired is unthinkable. We are in shock that we have to do this, but we have a continued responsibility to Sentebale’s beneficiaries, so we will be sharing all of our concerns with the Charity Commission as to how this came about.&#8221;
&#8220;Nearly 20 years ago, we founded Sentebale in honor of our mothers. Sentebale means ‘forget-me-not’ in Sesotho, the local language of Lesotho, and it’s what we’ve always promised for the young people we&#8217;ve served through this charity. &#8220;With heavy hearts, we have resigned from our roles as patrons of the organization until further notice, in support of and solidarity with the board of trustees who have had to do the same,&#8221; it said. &#8220;It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.&#8221;
The princes said in a statement, “These trustees acted in the best interest of the charity in asking the chair to step down while keeping the well-being of staff in mind. In turn, she sued the charity to remain in this voluntary position, further underscoring the broken relationship.&#8221;
Harry and Prince Seeiso thanked the trustees for their “service over the years” and said they’re “truly heartbroken they’ve had to follow through with this act.”
“Although we may no longer be patrons, we will always be its founders, and we will never forget what this charity is capable of achieving when it is in the right care,&#8221; the statement concluded.

Meghan Markle announced she’s launching another podcast in April after losing her “Archetypes” show on Spotify when the streaming site announced that it would not be renewing it for a second season.

The duchess previously shared news that the eight-episode series, which debuted on Netflix March 4, was coming back. In the first week, the series placed in the top 10 on the streaming site, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/03/07/markles-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-another-season-despite-low-review-ranking/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=socialflowForbesMainTwitter&amp;utm_source=ForbesMainTwitter">Forbes</a> noted.
The series has scored dismal reviews from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and, unsurprisingly, did particularly poorly in the United Kingdom.
One reviewer from The Guardian <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/mar/04/with-love-meghan-netfix-deal-harry-royals">called it</a> “pointless” and predicted it would be the Sussexes’ last television show after several Netflix flops. Meghan Markle is having a rough week.
The actress turned royal turned tony Montecito resident debuted her new lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix last Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon, every corner of the internet had excoriated her for the effort.
And when it comes to effort, Meghan puts forth a lot.
Not unlike Anne Hathaway or Sally Field circa the 1985 Oscars shouting, “You like me! You really, really like me!” Meghan is a classic try-hard. I don’t say this disparagingly; as someone who regularly brings home-baked treats to professional settings, I respect her domestic hustle. And however disparate our points of view on politics or publicity stunts, I also tip a hat to anyone willing to enter the public arena and welcome scrutiny, a subject with which the duchess is well-acquainted.
Her new show is the latest in a string of attempts at reinvention that Meg and her husband Prince Harry have made since stepping down from their royal duties in January 2020. The much lambasted lifestyle show is preceded by three other documentary projects, all part of their reported $100 million five-year deal with Netflix, and Meghan’s short-lived Archetypes podcast, which rests under the banner of a reported $20 million deal with Spotify. Each project sparked more irritation than the last, but Meg’s new hospitality and cooking show takes the critical cake.
While Meghan and Harry have long held sympathies from legacy media and celebrity circles alike, even mainstream and left-leaning publications including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, ScreenRant, Vulture, and The Cut have no soft spot for their latest production.
Some outlets slam Meghan for her unrelatability and luxurious lifestyle, while others chastise her for not allowing enough access into the rarified world of a real-life American princess. Reviewing the collected criticism of this attempt at a lighthearted escape of a television show feels a little like getting Lindsay Lohan’s emotional whiplash upon her first high school cafeteria foray into the world of The Plastics in Mean Girls. One almost expects the sporadically featured cameraman, who, when asked if he’d like to share a glass of beer left over from a recipe for chicken brine, to respond to Meghan by saying, “So, you agree. You think you’re really pretty.”
While certain criticisms are warranted, they do lack an essentially nuanced understanding of both the show’s genre and its titular star.

Superfans hoping the show — whose trailer billed it as a straightforward lifestyle series — would spill tea on the royal family drama were left sorely disappointed. Just minutes into the first episode, Meghan announces that the sun-drenched kitchen in which she flits about is not inside of her actual house, and she goes on to refer to it as the “set” throughout the rest of the series. The most personal detail she shares about her royal husband is that he sometimes comes strolling into the kitchen when he smells that she’s frying bacon.
Even the most tuned-in Royal-watchers stopped speculating on the family drama about 20 minutes into the famed Oprah tell-all when most of it boiled down to salacious headlines, hearsay, and quite a bit of melodrama — all well-honed by an actress who earned her previous paychecks on a soapy legal drama series. All that said, did critics hoping for a fly-on-the-wall perspective of the royals’ new Montecito digs think that one of the most scrutinized families in the world would again open wide the doors of their life for a Bravo style reality show? They tried that before and it only served to plummet their social stock, most aptly and satirically evidenced by Southpark’s “World Wide Privacy Tour” episode in which Harry and Meg’s animated avatars travel the globe’s media outlets demanding that people leave them alone.
The more frequent complaint of the show and its host is the unrelenting lack of self-awareness: the in-your-face luxury of the one-percent that Meghan treats like it’s accessible to anyone with a pot to boil water in. Among other accouterments of said ridiculousness cited by critics is a backyard honey farm from which a quirky on-staff beekeeper extricates wax for Meghan’s homemade non-toxic candles. Her first guest is Daniel Martin, her longtime makeup artist, with whom she chuckles about how she called his talent agency herself (gasp!) to inquire for her first booking since she didn’t even have a publicist at the time. (How pedestrian!) From celebrity guest Mindy Kaling feigning awe at the fact that Meghan makes her own balloon arches for children’s parties, rather than farm out the chore to a hired hand (the ingenuity!) to Meghan sprinkling edible flowers atop literally everything (and you can too, once her merch website launches!) the show is ripe with out-of-touch excess.
To which, this author says: so what?
One has to wonder if critics claiming offense at Meghan’s unrelatable lifestyle have ever actually watched a lifestyle show; the genre is not supposed to be relatable. At most, it’s aspirational; at minimum, it’s a distraction. With Love, Meghan is not something you settle down to view with a critical eye. It’s something you put on the television while you’re folding heaping baskets of laundry or washing a sink full of dishes. Sure, the patio in the sweet little home my husband and I share doesn’t have enough space for a beehive, nor does our guest room provide occupancy for its quirky keeper, but darn if I wasn’t inspired to see if our local grocery store carries mãnuka honey. 
Other critics come after Meghan for positioning herself — by virtue of hosting this show — as something of an authority on hospitality and cooking. While it’s clear that she genuinely loves both, one does begin to question what qualifies her as the show’s star when she painstakingly arranges (yet another) crudité platter.
From the obsessively perfect and famously difficult Martha Stewart, to the unabashedly entitled and comically out-of-touch Gwyneth Paltrow, to the unmatched Ina Garten, who personifies the comforting charm of “eat, drink, and be merry,” the greats of this space have already been established during its heyday. Everything else is copy. That’s why With Love, Meghan feels, admittedly, a bit misplaced: unaware of what it isn’t and hitting our airwaves about 10 years too late. In an era when anyone can access all-star recipes from the homecooks of Instagram — shared from modest kitchens across our country — it does make the notion of a duchess casually modeling how to create a harvest basket using produce from her own palatial garden feel more than a little tone-deaf. Then again, Hilaria Baldwin, the Boston-born-and-bred wife of actor Alec Baldwin, once hosted a cooking segment on The Today Show and proclaimed to forget the English word for “cucumber,” so immersed in her Spanish culture is she. If there’s anything we’ve learned from celebrities, it’s that proximity to power can create all manner of ego-driven delusions of grandeur.
So, while aspects of the show are inauthentic and silly, and it’s largely devoid of pace and purpose in the way that an eight-episode series that should have been four often are, I didn’t go into the viewing experience expecting anything other than a beautiful West Coast backdrop, a few outfit ideas (even Meghan’s harshest critics admit that her style is impeccable), and a handful of tips and tricks for putting together gifts for loved ones. For all the eye-rolling criticism that her show has garnered, I would bet money on the fact that women all over America are, at this very moment, decanting store-bought peanut butter pretzels into little labeled gift bags. It’s an adorable idea and I dare even the most cynical of snackers not to be touched when they find it on their bedside table along with lavender towels and a carafe of sun tea next time they visit a friend who has watched (or hate-watched) Meghan’s show.
Sure, the duchess’s swooning commentary on the beauty of the weather, dimpled focaccia dough, or an egg yolk is tiresome, as is her penchant for speaking in platitudes that belong on tea towels. She’s understandably guarded enough to appear performative, and the amateurish tips presented as sacrosanct should be taken less seriously, but I didn’t tune in expecting to find this era’s Martha, Gwyneth, or Ina. As a Royal-watching, Nancy Meyers aesthetic-obsessed, amateur home cook, and aspiring excellent hostess, I am exactly the woman for whom this show was made. I watched it for the same reason that I saw Barbie in theaters without expecting it to rival an adaptation of Pride &amp; Prejudice, or enjoy reading a novel with a Nantucket beach scene on the cover without comparing it to Dickens or Dostoevsky.
It’s just a bit of fun, and sometimes, that’s enough.
So, to the show’s harshest and high-minded critics, I offer an invitation: stop watching.
Or, at least find a hobby to keep you busy while you do, because With Love, Meghan has already been renewed for a second season.

Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan” has already been renewed for a second season, despite criticism and reviews that have panned the royal’s show as a disaster and pointless.

“Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!” she added. “@netflix.”
The eight-episode series debuted on Netflix last week and by Friday, the duchess shared news it was coming back. In the first week, the series placed in the top 10 on the streaming site, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/03/07/markles-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-another-season-despite-low-review-ranking/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=socialflowForbesMainTwitter&amp;utm_source=ForbesMainTwitter">Forbes</a> noted.

The <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/03/07/entertainment/meghan-markles-netflix-show-with-love-meghan-renewed-for-season-2/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social">New York Post</a> reported that filming and production on the second season was complete, and it was set to drop this fall. 
It was this tidbit that seemed to upset critics, with many taking to social media to note that there was no support or outcry from fans for another season, but that the show had reportedly already completed filming for a second part.
“Honestly, this was an excellent PR strategy. Film the show. Break it into two parts and then make it seem like it was renewed for a second season because everyone loved it,” one person noted on X. &#8220;Good one, but we see right through the BS. With Love, Meghan is a flop.”
Another person added, pointing to a Deadline article, “The truth is out. With Love, Meghan was originally greenlit for two seasons. Nothing new here!”

Former working royal Meghan Markle has been mocked ever since the release of her new Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan,” which dropped on Tuesday.
The TV personality is being criticized for her show being inauthentic, elitist, and out-of-touch, even when interacting with her friends on the eight-episode series. One of the most viral moments comes when Markle firmly corrects her longtime friend, actress Mindy Kaling, insisting that she’s calling her by the wrong name.
“It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle.’ You know I’m Sussex now,” the “Suits” actress says abruptly at one point. Kaling remains quiet with a serious expression as Markle goes on to explain her reasoning.
“You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ And that feels so — I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me. But it just means so much to go, &#8216;This is our family name, our little family name,'&#8221; she went on.
“Well, now I know,” Kaling replied. “And I love it.”
Viewers have been critical of this interaction and of Markle’s decision to use her royal title “Sussex” as a last name, which is a break in tradition for the royal family. Meghan and her husband Prince Harry were given the titles His Royal Highness the Duke and Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex after they wed. But Sussex is a cultural region, not a name. Prince Harry’s actual surname is Mountbatten-Windsor.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement that Meghan and Harry could keep their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but they would no longer be referred to as His and Her Royal Highness after quitting their roles as working royals in 2020.
Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, are now using the last name “Sussex” informally, which is what led Markle to want to do the same.
&#8220;She has spent under six hours in the county in her entire lifetime&#8230; she&#8217;s not a Sussex, she&#8217;s a Windsor,&#8221; British news anchor Piers Morgan said.
“Her name is NOT Meghan Sussex. Her name is technically Rachel Mountbatten-Windsor,” another commenter observed. “Sussex is a county in England &amp; part of a courtesy title-NOT her last name.”
She continued, noting how the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, sometimes style their children’s last name in school as Wales to simplify things, but the adults don’t.
“Diana didn’t call herself ‘Diana Wales’ either,” she <a href="https://x.com/unreMARKLEble/status/1897028688019128821">wrote</a> in an X post. “[Meghan Markle] just showed how ignorant she is of the protocols &amp; customs of the family she married into &amp; no doubt they’re laughing at her. Many other followers pointed out how Markle complained about her name change during the bombshell interview she did with Oprah in 2021. “I grieve a lot. I mean, I’ve lost my father. I lost a baby. I nearly lost my name. I mean, there’s the loss of identity,” she said during that interview. “But I’m still standing, and my hope for people in the takeaway from this is to know that there’s another side.”

The series was marketed as a lifestyle show meant to highlight some of the Duchess of Sussex’s favorite tips for entertaining. The trailer promised a cast of guest appearances from Markle’s friends like Mindy Kaling and others. But from the get-go, fans were confused as to why the former working royal would choose such a saturated genre.

“All of Meghan Markle’s ‘recipes’ can be found on Pinterest,” another person <a href="https://x.com/MeghansMole/status/1896657704917381132">observed</a>, highlighting a photo of a rainbow fruit tray that looked identical to one a blogger had posted about previously. 
Viewers were also frustrated over how fake it all felt, especially since the show wasn’t filmed in her actual home. 
The Google Reviews so far are very low, with a current average rating of 2.4 out of 5. 
“Imagine if Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow had a love child who was raised by a committee of Instagram influencers—that’s essentially what we have here. Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle and cooking show on Netflix is a glossy, filtered, and utterly exhausting journey into the world of perfectly curated nothingness,” one reviewer wrote, adding that the “small, relatable moments” the show highlights “often feel as authentic as a Kardashian family dinner.”

Former royal aide Jason Knauf opened up about the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry and said it’s been “hard and sad” for those on the inside to witness the split between the brothers.
Speaking on “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YHfkaVcGZ8">60 Minutes Australia</a>,” Knauf &#8212; who previously worked as a communications secretary to Prince William and Kate Middleton along with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle &#8212; said that he’s unsure if the bond between the two brothers could ever heal, which started after Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties and eventually moved to the United States.
&#8220;It&#8217;s very difficult to have this stuff play out in the public eye, but [William]&#8217;s chosen to keep his thoughts on it private, and I think all of us who know him really have to respect that we should do the same,&#8221; Knauf said.
&#8220;But I will say, of course, it&#8217;s been hard and sad, especially for all of us who know both of them,&#8221; he added.

Knauf, who “worked really closely with&#8221; Harry and Meghan to plan their wedding in 2018, called the opportunity to work with the couple on their event an &#8220;amazing, magical experience” and wished them all the best.
The former aide also said he couldn’t “speculate on the future” when asked if he thought Harry’s role in the family could possibly change when William becomes King. He added, “They achieved a lot together, and none of that can ever be taken away.&#8221;
However, another former royal aide, Grant Harrold, spoke to the outlet and said that the “broken bond” won’t last forever and suggested that Harry will &#8220;still be there to support his brother [at his coronation as King] as he has been for his father.&#8221;
After serving as a communications secretary to the royal brothers and their wives, Knauf took on the role of chief executive of Prince William and Middleton’s Royal Foundation, before he stepped down from the royal household in 2021.
In 2024, a source told <a href="https://people.com/prince-harry-prince-william-aide-breaks-silence-brothers-rift-jason-knauf-60-minutes-australia-11685045?utm_campaign=people&amp;utm_content=likeshop&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=instagram">People magazine</a> that Harry’s calls and letters to his father King Charles and his brother have reportedly gone unanswered.
The rift between the brothers is &#8220;very bad,” said a royal insider, but it’s not &#8220;irreparable.”

Former working royal Meghan Markle has announced that she’s rebranding her lifestyle company before hard launching a single product.
The Duchess of Sussex shared the news via Instagram with a post revealing the new name just a few weeks before her Netflix series premieres. 
The brand launch started last March when Markle introduced the idea of “American Riviera Orchard,” which, as far as anyone could tell, sold some homemade preserves. There were photos that showed celebrities receiving samples from a limited batch, but nothing beyond that besides a website collecting email addresses – until now.
In the video launch of the newly branded “As Ever,” the former royal explains that she chose a name that made more sense. And then things got even more complicated. Since the brand launch, the owner of the United States-based clothing brand &#8220;As Ever,&#8221; which he says has been in business since 2015, posted on social media about the newfound attention. He assured customers that he has no affiliation with the Duchess of Sussex.
Designer Mark Kolski wrote in a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DGO6FWasDQ4/?hl=en">post</a> on Instagram: &#8220;I want to say thank you to all the old friends who know and love our small family brand As Ever, and also say hi to all those that have just become aware we exist.&#8221;
&#8220;In the last 36 hours there has been an outpouring of support and concern regarding recent events around our namesake brand. We are aware. We are not affiliated,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;It&#8217;s 2025. We are grateful to still be here making clothing in New York &amp; New Jersey,&#8221; the post said. &#8220;We are grateful for all the customers coast to coast and world wide that have supported our venture. We will continue As Ever.&#8221;
The Duchess of Sussex shared the news in an outdoor-based video posted to Instagram featuring a brief cameo from her husband, Prince Harry, who can be heard saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s recording,&#8221; before handing her a phone.

She then explained that the new website is meant to reflect her defunct lifestyle brand, The Tig.
&#8220;As Ever essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,&#8221; Markle went on. &#8220;And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can, so as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first.&#8221;
&#8220;Of course, there will be fruit preserves; I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam. But there are so many more products that I just love, and now it&#8217;s time to share them with you. So I just can’t wait for you to see it. Thanks, guys!&#8221; she concluded.
