Kim Kardashian had a one-word reaction to a fan who claims her life was saved thanks to wearing SKIMS shapewear when she was shot.
The 42-year-old company founder and social media influencer posted one of Angelina Wiley’s TikTok videos to her Instagram page over the weekend with a caption that said, “Wow.”
Wiley told her surprising story in the clip, saying, “Kim Kardashian saved my life. This New Year’s I got shot four times. The night I got shot, under my dress, I was wearing a SKIMS shaping bodysuit. It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out.”
“I recommend it,” she said of the bodysuit. “I’m definitely gonna buy some more. I mean, I should wear it every day. It’s like body armor for women. Call it fate or Jesus, but Imma call it Kim,” Wiley said.
The social media user said she was out in Kansas City with friends celebrating New Year’s Eve when the shooting occurred. Wiley decided to recount the experience in a series of videos several months later, per MetroUK.

Wiley said she was near a food truck with her friends at around 1:30 am when she witnessed “fighting in the road.” She claims a “man wearing a ski mask” started shooting and struck her four times. She said she did not know she was shot at first and tried to get to safety but then collapsed near the food truck.
Wiley said she was told at the hospital that she’d been shot four times and still had a bullet lodged in her stomach.
The Kansas City Missouri Metro Police Department reported that an unnamed man was also shot during the incident and sustained life-threatening injuries, per Insider.

Wiley created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for her medical bills. “I’ve gone through ups and downs as I hopped, scooted, and rolled around everywhere when I couldn’t walk,” she wrote. “I continue to have a lot of struggles with my hip ever since the fracture as well as many other pains.”
“The bullet still in me causes random pains and honestly I struggle with severe ptsd ever since the shooting,” she continued. “It has made returning to work full-time difficult.”
The SKIMS brand, co-founded by Kardashian in 2019, has an estimated value of more than $4 billion as of July 2023.
