Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis minced no words when speaking about the rights of citizens if they were surrounded by a mob while in their car.
DeSantis <a href="https://rumble.com/v6uncqd-exposing-the-real-origin-of-gavin-newsoms-ice-riot-problem-ron-desantis.html">spoke</a> to Dave Rubin of the Rubin Report regarding the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, and Florida’s policy regarding civil unrest.
“In terms of the unrest, Florida’s policy is very simple: You have every right to exercise your First Amendment rights to protest and demonstrate,” DeSantis explained. “The minute you cross that line, you are going to be met with serious pushback, and you will be held accountable. We do not tolerate rioting; we do not tolerate civil unrest; we do not tolerate looting; we do not tolerate attacks on law enforcement.”
“And so I know they’re planning stuff for all over the country; they tried to do a little protest in Florida, and they actually just held signs, which is fine, but that’s as far as it goes here,” he continued. “I think the problem in places like California is the authorities at both the local and state level; they’re effectively siding with the people that are causing the unrest. And part of it is because California is the Shangri-La of sanctuary states. They give you drivers’ licenses if you’re an illegal; you get in-state tuition; they pay for your healthcare; they will try to stymie ICE and protect you from having immigration law enforced, And so they’ve been doing this over a number of years and I think have developed a sense of entitlement that somehow, federal laws don’t apply to them because they don’t like them. So you’ve had the mayor, the governor, empower that element, not just now, but for many years &#8230;”
Asked what Florida’s policy was when demonstrators crossed the line, DeSantis replied:

The Hamas demonstration, when that was in vogue, they tried to do that in the city of Miami and the Miami PD got them off the street in 13 minutes. They tried to do it in central Florida on a state road and our state highway patrol. they were able to dispatch them in 11 minutes. And so, yes, there is zero tolerance. You have no right to commandeer streets. First of all it’s just wrong. Second of all, that has huge impacts on people&#8217;s quality of life. You may have a parent needing to go pick up a child from daycare, from a camp, or from a school. You may have somebody who has a medical issue they need to get, and what, you’re going to clog all the roads?
So we have an absolutely zero tolerance policy for that and we also have a policy that if you&#8217;re driving on one of those streets, and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety. And so if you drive off, and you hit one of these people, that&#8217;s their fault for impinging on you. You don&#8217;t have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets. You have a right to defend yourself in Florida.

Just after midnight on Thursday, New York City police and firefighters found eleven NYPD vehicles on fire in a Brooklyn parking lot along with undetonated explosive devices.
Two masked individuals wearing gloves were seen running away from the scene, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/12/us-news/nypd-vehicles-burned-in-suspected-arson-attack-in-brooklyn/">reported</a>, adding that some witnesses were delighted by the arson.

Only hours before, roughly 100 anti-ICE protesters met at Foley Square, near a building where federal immigration offices and the city&#8217;s main immigration court reside. “They shouted profanities and chanted: ‘How do you spell racism: I-C-E’ and ‘Deportation no more, ICE get out of our state,’” Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/anti-ice-rioters-fight-nypd-set-police-cars-fire">reported</a>, adding, “About 10 people were arrested when scuffles broke out with police and demonstrators refused to get off the road.”
Last Saturday, more than 100 protesters confronted police officers in Lower Manhattan, trying to block ICE vehicles transporting illegal immigrants; the NYPD said 22 people were <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/nyregion/ice-detention-federal-plaza-nyc.html">arrested</a>.
On Tuesday, roughly 2,500 protesters demonstrated in Lower Manhattan, speaking out against the immigration crackdown implemented by the Trump administration. Some of the protesters yelled “Nazi scum” at police officers; others hurled bottles at the NYPD. More than 80 people were arrested, <a href="https://www.fox5ny.com/news/nyc-protests-trump-nypd-los-angeles-ice">Fox 5</a> reported.
According to the <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/the-nypd-is-being-monitored-at-anti-ice-protests-after-recent-george-floyd-settlement">Gothamist</a>, while the NYPD has been aiding ICE, they are under scrutiny from the New York City Department of Investigation (DOI). Agents from the DOI  have been monitoring the NYPD “as part of a legal agreement reached after demonstrators in 2020 claimed police illegally arrested them as they protested the killing of George Floyd,” the Gothamist noted. “DOI spokesperson Diane Struzzi said the agency dispatched the monitors as part of a legal settlement after the 2020 protests.”
That policy came about after the Legal Aid Society, New York Civil Liberties Union, and the attorney general’s office accused the NYPD of overaggressive tactics vis-à-vis protesters. “As part of the settlement, the DOI will chair a ‘collaborative committee’ that will review the NYPD’s response to certain demonstrations in the city,” the Gothamist reported.

A New York jury on Wednesday delivered a mixed verdict in Harvey Weinstein&#8217;s sexual assault retrial, finding the former Hollywood mogul guilty of one count while acquitting him of another.
The jury found Weinstein guilty of forcibly performing oral sex on former &#8220;Project Runway&#8221; production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006, but acquitted him of criminal sexual assault against former model Kaja Sokola.
They remain deadlocked on third-degree rape charges related to actress Jessica Mann, who testified that Weinstein had raped her in a Manhattan hotel room in 2013.
Since the trial began last week, the jurors have been contentious with one another. The judge even <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06/11/nyregion/harvey-weinstein-verdict">ordered</a> them to pause deliberations and “cool down” earlier on Wednesday, per The New York Times.
Justice Curtis Farber was informed in the courtroom that jurors were indeed “yelling and screaming” at each other throughout the day, and that one juror threatened the jury’s foreman, “I’ll see you outside one day.”

Weinstein attempted to capitalize on the situation, arguing to Justice Farber that the jury conflict was grounds for a mistrial.
“This is not right for me, for me the person on trial here,” Weinstein told the judge. “This is my life on the line, and you know what, it’s not fair. It’s simple. It’s not fair.”
“It’s time, it&#8217;s time, it&#8217;s time to say this trial is over,” the former Hollywood mogul <a href="https://apnews.com/article/harvey-weinstein-sexual-assault-trial-31d7a64b75148d1e482f3c020ffea527">said</a>.
Farber denied Weinstein&#8217;s request: “Jurors fight. They act childish at times. They get heated. I’m not going to allow any injustice to happen to you.”
This <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harvey-weinsteins-lawyers-argue-hes-the-one-whos-being-abused-during-retrial">retrial</a> followed the New York State Court of Appeals overturning Weinstein&#8217;s 2020 conviction, which had become a defining case of the #MeToo movement.
&#8220;If this person wasn&#8217;t Harvey Weinstein, would we even be here?&#8221; Weinstein&#8217;s attorney, Arthur Aidala, asked during closing arguments, maintaining the encounters were &#8220;transactional&#8221; and &#8220;consensual.&#8221; On June 5, Weinstein told FOX 5 New York that he acted &#8220;immorally&#8221; but insisted, &#8220;never illegal, never criminal, never anything.&#8221;
Over the past six weeks, three accusers testified: former &#8220;Project Runway&#8221; production assistant Miriam Haley, actress Jessica Mann, and former model Kaja Sokola from Poland. Weinstein, 73, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The partial verdict came as a shock, as Farber had only assembled the jury to formally send them home for the day when the foreman suddenly announced decisions on two of the three charges.
Jurors were unable to reach a verdict on the third charge and will continue deliberating on Thursday.
Regardless of the outcome, the 73-year-old former producer, who has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, will likely return to California, where he&#8217;s serving a 16-year sentence for a separate 2022 rape conviction.
Weinstein’s lawyers <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jury-harvey-weinstein-sex-assault-retrial-reached-partial-verdict-rcna210599">filed</a> an appeal for his 2022 conviction last year, which is still in process, per NBC.
Judge Farber instructed the jury to continue deliberations on Thursday regarding the remaining charge related to Sokola&#8217;s allegations.

Macklemore, a rapper best known for the 2012 song “Thrift Shop,” was the victim of a home invasion at his Seattle residence over the weekend while his children and nanny were there. 
According to the police report, two men allegedly entered the residence just after midnight on Saturday morning. A woman later identified as the family nanny was able to escape and call 911 after she was hit with a blast of bear spray. 
“She escaped, but three children were still inside the house,” the report said, per <a href="https://people.com/macklemore-seattle-home-reportedly-robbed-3-children-inside-cops-11751678">People</a>. “[The caller] also added that the house belonged to a high-profile individual.”
The woman claims the intruders yelled at her, asking, “Where are the jewels, b*tch?” She then said she brought them to a bedroom and observed as the thieves “went through drawers, cabinets and raided the closet full of clothing, jewelry, and shoes.”
Social media users are pointing out the hypocrisy of police being dispatched to his home during a crisis after the rapper released the song “Hind’s Hall” last year, which was critical of law enforcement and referred to police officers as “actors with badges.”
The report also noted that the nanny believed the attack was “politically motivated for some reason.”
The 41-year-old recording artist, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, shares three children with his wife. The family lives in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. 
Macklemore was in Ireland at the time of the alleged break-in, per <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/06/10/macklemore-seattle-home-burglary-nanny-bear-maced/">TMZ</a>.
Macklemore&#8217;s anti-police single is also explicitly anti-Israel.
“Block the barricade until Palestine is free/When I was seven, I learned a lesson from Cube and Eazy-E,” the lyrics say. “What was it again? Oh yeah, f** the police/Actors in badges protecting property/And a system that was designed by white supremacy.”
The song was also critical of former President Joe Biden. &#8220;The blood is on your hands Biden, we can see it all,&#8221; the lyrics said. &#8220;And f*** no, I’m not voting for you in the fall.&#8221;
In 2023, at an anti-Israel rally in Washington, D.C., Macklemore took the stage and told the crowd, “I don’t know enough, but I know enough that this is a genocide,” as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rapper-slammed-after-encouraging-crowd-to-chant-fk-america">reported</a>.  Macklemore made headlines in 2024 for encouraging a crowd at a Seattle concert to chant, &#8220;F*** America.&#8221;

Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell admitted that his department was &#8220;overwhelmed&#8221; by left-wing rioters in the city, and sparred with liberal council members urging McDonnell to illegally tip them off to incoming federal immigration raids.
McDonnell <a href="https://x.com/TheChiefNerd/status/1931919309229392192" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acknowledged</a> that his department faced significant risk from the rioters during a press conference on Sunday. “Tonight, we had individuals shooting commercial-grade fireworks at our officers. That can kill you,&#8221; he told reporters. &#8220;We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people out there engaged in this type of activity. &#8230; There is no limit to what they are doing to our officers.&#8221;

Further, on Tuesday, the chief told Los Angeles City Council members that he would absolutely not tip them off to federal raids to deport illegal immigrants.
“You’re asking me to warn you about an enforcement action being taken by another agency before it happens? We can’t do that,” McDonnell responded to Councilmember Imelda Padilla, the Los Angeles Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-06-10/l-a-city-councilmembers-spar-with-police-chief-over-immigration-protests">reported</a>.
The chief said such a tip-off would be obstruction of justice, adding, “That would be completely inappropriate and illegal.&#8221;
City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson also went after McDonnell, telling him it was wrong to suggest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were LAPD “law enforcement partners.”
“If we know somebody is coming here to do warrant-less abductions of the residents of this city, those are not our partners,” Harris-Dawson said. “I don’t care what badge they have on or whose orders they’re under. They’re not our partners.”
Following the meeting, McDonnell emphasized that the LAPD needs to cooperate with the feds on several issues, even if the department doesn&#8217;t on immigration per sanctuary laws.
“All of the crimes we investigate potentially could be in partnership with [federal agencies],” he said. “It is a partnership, and without that partnership, we wouldn’t be able to go into the World Cup, the Olympics &#8230; that require that we work with federal, state and local partners.”
Soon after President Donald Trump was elected in 2024, McDonnell said his department was working with consulate offices for Mexico and other Central American countries to protect illegal immigrants from coming federal deportation raids.
Enforcement of immigration laws would be “undercutting our primary mission, which is to be able to build public trust to work with every member of all of our communities, to be able to have hope that people will come forward if they were a victim of crime, a witness to a crime,” McDonnell <a href="https://spectrumnews1.com/ca/southern-california/politics/2024/12/04/lapd-chief-says-he-will-work-to-protect-immigrants?utm_source=chatgpt.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the Associated Press at the time.
The chief also took heat from liberal council members for using rubber bullets and making dozens of arrests. Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez, for example, told McDonnell, &#8220;We have to be mindful of the tactics being used by some LAPD members that is adding to the escalation.”
“Just like a few protesters can take away from the messaging, the same thing can be said about LAPD. It overshadows the response,” he added.
Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez also accused LAPD officers of acting “out of line for the situation.”

A federal grand jury indicted Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) in connection to last month&#8217;s scuffle outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba announced on Tuesday.
In a <a href="https://x.com/USAttyHabba/status/1932572573713514913" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on X, Habba revealed that the three-count indictment charges McIver with &#8220;forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers.&#8221;
McIver said she will be entering a plea of not guilty.
&#8220;The facts of this case will prove I was simply doing my job and will expose these proceedings for what they are: a brazen attempt at political intimidation,&#8221; McIver said in a <a href="https://x.com/RepLaMonica/status/1932575526595489938" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>. &#8220;This indictment is not more justified than the original charges, and is an effort by Trump&#8217;s administration to dodge accountability for the chaos ICE caused and scare me out of doing the work I was elected to do. But it won&#8217;t work — I will not be intimidated.&#8221;
On May 9, McIver and other Democrats from New Jersey demanded they be allowed to conduct &#8220;oversight&#8221; of the ICE detention facility at Delaney Hall. A confrontation between them and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents ensued, as shown in ICE body-cam <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-claim-ice-agents-roughed-them-up-body-cam-footage-says-otherwise" target="_blank" rel="noopener">footage</a>.
According to a Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-nj/pr/congresswoman-charged-forcibly-impeding-and-interfering-federal-officers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a>, the indictment says McIver forcibly impeded and interfered with federal officers amid their efforts to arrest the mayor of Newark, who had entered a secured area.

&#8220;Someone in the crowd yelled &#8216;circle the mayor,'&#8221; the DOJ said. &#8220;McIver then faced the Mayor and placed her arms around him in an effort to prevent HSI from completing the arrest. During her continued attempts to thwart the arrest, McIver slammed her forearm into the body of one law enforcement officer and also reached out and tried to restrain that officer by forcibly grabbing him. McIver also used each of her forearms to forcibly strike a second officer.&#8221;
McIver, initially <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-charge-new-jersey-democrat-over-clash-with-agents-at-ice-facility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> a few weeks ago, faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted.
&#8220;As I have stated in the past, it is my Constitutional obligation as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for New Jersey to ensure that our federal partners are protected when executing their duties,&#8221; Habba declared in her post on X. &#8220;While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve.&#8221;
Habba added: &#8220;Today’s decision by the grand jury is the next step in a process that my Office will pursue to a just end.&#8221;

President Donald Trump made it abundantly clear that he would not back down from intervening in the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, declaring, “I am not playing around.”
On Monday night, Trump mobilized an additional 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to join the 2,000 Guardsmen deployed by the Trump administration over the weekend, along with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-deploys-hundreds-of-marines-to-los-angeles">700 Marines</a> that were sent on Monday.
&#8220;If I didn’t &#8216;SEND IN THE TROOPS&#8217; to Los Angeles the last three nights, that once beautiful and great City would be burning to the ground right now, much like 25,000 houses burned to the ground in L.A. due to an incompetent Governor and Mayor,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114659367372751138">posted</a> on Truth Social on Tuesday morning.
Later in the day, speaking to a panel on Fox Business, Trump stated, “Last night was terrible. The night before that was terrible. As you’ve seen, it was on most of your networks, people with big, heavy hammers pounding the concrete and pounding curbs, pounding, breaking up, and handing these big chunks of concrete to people. And they were taking that concrete, going up on bridges, and dropping it into the roof of a car. They were throwing it at our police; they were throwing it at our soldiers that are there.”
“And we got it stopped and we have them in custody right now,” he continued. “Look, if we didn’t get involved, right now, Los Angeles would be burning just like it was burning a number of months ago with all the houses that were lost. Los Angeles right now would be on fire. And we have it in great shape. I am not playing around.&#8221;

That statute says the president can call up the Guard when there’s an actual or threatened invasion or rebellion, or when he can’t execute the laws with regular federal forces.
Given what’s being done to attack and obstruct ICE agents who are simply enforcing the immigration laws, the latter condition applies. This is not an invocation of the Insurrection Act, which would involve federal troops taking on general law-enforcement functions. Instead, the role of the Guard is limited, as the presidential proclamation stipulates, to ensuring“the protection and safety of Federal personnel and property.”

“There need not be an actual rebellion — only the danger of one — for the president legitimately to call the Guard into federal service,” former Assistant United States Attorney Andrew McCarthy, who led the 1995 terrorism prosecution against Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and eleven others,  <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2025/06/president-trump-has-legal-authority-to-suppress-the-siege-in-l-a/">added</a>. “Moreover, the explicit purpose of the ongoing rioting and mayhem is to thwart the enforcement of the federal immigration laws. President Donald Trump mobilized an additional 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles Monday night as the city cleans up the damage from a weekend of rioting and seeks to stave off more agitators.
The new batch of National Guard troops will join 2,000 Guardsmen who were deployed by the Trump administration on Saturday, along with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-deploys-hundreds-of-marines-to-los-angeles">700 Marines</a> sent to L.A. on Monday, bringing the total number of mobilized military personnel in the city to at least 4,700, The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/06/09/la-protests-ice-live-updates/">reported</a>. Trump said on Tuesday morning that his decision to deploy troops to L.A. saved the city from &#8220;burning to the ground.&#8221;

On Monday, Newsom <a href="https://www.gov.ca.gov/2025/06/09/100885/">sent 800</a> more state and local law enforcement officers to Los Angeles &#8220;to clean up President Trump&#8217;s mess.&#8221; Newsom and L.A. Democratic Mayor Karen Bass argue that the rioting in pockets of L.A. County was under control until Trump intervened to deploy the National Guard.
&#8220;Chaos is exactly what Trump wanted, now we are sending in hundreds more law enforcement to pick up the pieces. State and local leaders stand together, coordinated and resolute to ensure the safety of the Los Angeles region,&#8221; Newsom said.
Bass added, “While Washington choreographed these chaotic events, the LAPD and local law enforcement continue to effectively respond.”
The protests-turned-riots in L.A. were sparked by federal immigration raids in the region last week, one of which arrested suspected illegal immigrants in a Home Depot parking lot. The rioting picked up over the weekend as agitators attacked law enforcement officers by throwing rocks and cement and shooting fireworks at them. Rioters — some of whom waved Mexican flags — also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/waymo-suspends-service-in-downtown-l-a-after-rioters-burn-5-of-its-self-driving-vehicles">set fire</a> to multiple Waymo robotaxis in the street. A total of 42 agitators were arrested, and some of them face charges of assault on an officer and attempted murder, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/downtown-la-protests-looting-burned-cars-vandalism-arrests/">reported</a>.
The cleanup process has begun in a section of downtown L.A. after rioters destroyed planter boxes, pedestrian signs, and public benches and chairs. At least three businesses, a T-Mobile store and two athletic footwear stores, were ransacked by looters, and a Jordan Studio 23 and Adidas store suffered shattered glass in their front doors. What remained of five burned-out Waymo vehicles was also being cleaned up in the street. Waymo suspended service in downtown L.A. after the rioters targeted the robotaxis.
While L.A. looks to clean up the damage, more anti-ICE rioting has hit San Francisco, where around 150 people were arrested Sunday night and at least two police officers were injured, ABC 7 <a href="https://abc7news.com/post/hundreds-protesters-rally-ice-raids-san-francisco/16701175/">reported</a>.

Trump Sends Another 2,000 National Guard Troops To L.A.

The FBI has identified a man who threw rocks at federal officers during anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles County over the weekend, the Justice Department announced.
U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said Monday that 40-year-old Elpidio Reyna, a resident of Compton, California, was the man captured on video throwing rocks at law enforcement vehicles in Paramount, injuring one federal officer and damaging government vehicles. Reyna has not yet been arrested, and the FBI is offering $50,000 for information that leads to his capture. 
“Elpidio Reyna can run, but he can’t hide. He threw rocks at federal officers leaving a command post in Paramount on Saturday, a brazen attack caught on film and that could have resulted in deaths. Reyna, 40, is charged with assault on a federal officer, and faces up to eight years in prison if convicted,” Essayli posted on X.

Essayli’s post came after Attorney General Pam Bondi <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/ag-bondi-says-fbi-has-identified-suspect-accused-assaulting-federal-officer-trump-vows-tough-response" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News host Sean Hannity that the FBI was conducting a search warrant at Reyna’s home. Bondi added that he would be on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. 
&#8220;He has been identified by the great police work by the FBI,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So, you can run, you can’t hide. We are coming after you federally. If you assault a police officer, if you rob a store, if you loot, if you spit on police officers, we’re coming after you.&#8221;

FBI Identifies Man Caught On Camera Hurling Rocks At Feds During Anti-ICE Riot

Anti-ICE rioters, according to the latest reports from the Los Angeles Police Department, have been coordinating their efforts in part by communicating via two-way radios to share the locations of and actions taken by law enforcement, military, and federal agents.
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin shared the latest details he&#8217;d received from the LAPD in an X post on Monday, reporting that dozens had already been arrested on a number of different charges and that at least five officers and police department horses had been injured while attempting to quell the unrest.

Retired Army Colonel Kurt Schlicter assessed the situation in a <a href="https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtschlichter/2025/06/09/the-la-chaos-is-an-illusion-and-trump-will-not-fall-for-it-n2658455">Townhall column</a> published Monday, where he said that the chaos was all just &#8220;an illusion&#8221; meant to scare and intimidate people into compliance.

ORGANIZED MOB: Anti-ICE Protesters Are Sharing Law Enforcement Movements Via Two-Way Radios

More than 100 House Democrats voted on Monday against a resolution condemning the recent fire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terror-in-colorado-pro-israel-demonstrators-attacked-in-firebombing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">attack</a> in Boulder, Colorado, on people demonstrating in support of hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the October 7, 2023, assault on Israel.
The <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20250609/H%20Res%206.8.25.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">measure</a>, which denounces the &#8220;antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado&#8221; and offers a critique of the U.S. immigration system because the suspect was an illegal immigrant, <a href="https://clerk.house.gov/Votes/2025158" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> with strong bipartisan support from 205 Republicans and 75 Democrats. However, 113 Democrats opposed the resolution, leaving them open to broadsides from Republicans.
&#8220;House Democrats just sided with terrorists over cops and couldn’t even bring themselves to condemn antisemitism. They&#8217;re officially the antisemite and anti-cop caucus,&#8221; Mike Marinella, a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Republican Jewish Coalition posted a list on X of all the Democrats who voted against the resolution, calling their opposition &#8220;shameful.&#8221;

The resolution notes Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who is now facing hate crime and many other <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/06/06/mohamed-soliman-boulder-attack-hate-crime-charges/84065930007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charges</a> in connection to the June 1 firebombing in Boulder, allegedly shouted &#8220;Free Palestine&#8221; and spoke about wanting to kill all the Zionists.
In addition, it mentions Soliman is an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa and his case &#8220;demonstrates the dangers of not removing from the country aliens who fail to comply with the terms of their visas.&#8221; The resolution also expresses gratitude to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — a federal agency <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-comes-out-against-abolishing-ice-ice-is-not-the-problem" target="_blank" rel="noopener">derided</a> by some Democrats.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) chided Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), who introduced the resolution, during a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/znhJ3NB434E?t=218s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press conference</a> before the vote.
&#8220;Who is this guy? He&#8217;s not seriously concerned with combating antisemitism in America. This is not a serious effort. This guy&#8217;s going to be a one-term member of Congress. He&#8217;s a complete and total embarrassment,&#8221; Jeffries said. The top Democrat also <a href="https://x.com/NRCC/status/1932166132691083613" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> the resolution and Evans a &#8220;joke.&#8221;
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) fired back at Jeffries in a <a href="https://x.com/SteveScalise/status/1932172219494342769" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> on X.
&#8220;Only radical Democrats would call it a joke to denounce antisemitic terrorism and express gratitude to law enforcement for detaining the terrorist here illegally who perpetrated the Boulder attack,&#8221; Scalise said. &#8220;Appreciate [Evans] — a veteran and former law enforcement officer &#8211; for leading on this important resolution.&#8221;
Evans, a first-term congressman who is a former Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot and police officer, also delivered a retort.
&#8220;I served our nation in uniform in the Middle East, as a cop in Colorado, &amp; now as a Congressman,&#8221; Evans <a href="https://x.com/repgabeevans/status/1932192483510759662" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on X. &#8220;This wildly offensive sentiment from Democrat’s Leader is why antisemitism persists. The Left is unserious about finding real solutions. Condemning terrorism is not a joking matter.&#8221;
Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO), who represents Boulder, had pushed for the House to go with his own <a href="https://neguse.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/neguse.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/neguse_085_xml_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resolution</a> condemning the attack and criticized the measure from Evans. Among his complaints were that it contained small &#8220;inaccuracies&#8221; and failed to recognize the Boulder Police Department or FBI for their response to the firebombing — only ICE, &#8220;the one agency that was not in Boulder that day.&#8221;
Still, Neguse ended up voting to pass the measure from Evans, which did affirm &#8220;that free and open communication between State and local law enforcement and their Federal counterparts remains the bedrock of public safety and is necessary in preventing terrorist attacks.&#8221;
A Democrat who voted against the resolution, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do7FZ00kQIo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">griped</a> about how arguing the Boulder attack is a &#8220;reflection&#8221; of the U.S. immigration system &#8220;uses Jews as a partisan pawn.&#8221;

A Chinese national from Wuhan studying for a PhD was arrested on Sunday for attempting to smuggle &#8220;biological materials&#8221; into a laboratory at the University of Michigan, the Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi/pr/alien-wuhan-china-charged-making-false-statements-and-smuggling-biological-materials">announced</a> on Monday.
The arrest of Chengxuan Han at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport is the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-arrest-chinese-scholar-for-attempting-to-smuggle-pathogen-used-for-agroterrorism-into-u-s">second time</a> this month that a Chinese citizen with connections to the University of Michigan has been charged with smuggling potential biological threats into the country. According to the United States Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan, Han sent four packages containing &#8220;concealed biological material&#8221; from China to the United States. The packages were all addressed to people &#8220;associated with a laboratory at the University of Michigan,&#8221; the DOJ said in a press release.
“The alleged smuggling of biological materials by this alien from a science and technology university in Wuhan, China—to be used at a University of Michigan laboratory—is part of an alarming pattern that threatens our security. The American taxpayer should not be underwriting a PRC-based smuggling operation at one of our crucial public institutions.”
Han is studying at a university in Wuhan — the city where the COVID virus likely leaked from a lab before it shut down the world&#8217;s economies and killed millions of people. The Chinese PhD student was questioned by Customs and Border Protection officers at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Sunday. During the questioning, Han &#8220;made false statements about the packages and the biological materials she had previously shipped to the United States,&#8221; which she later admitted to the FBI, according to the DOJ.

Han also allegedly told the FBI that she had previously sent the packages and said that they contained biological material related to <a href="https://www.ars.usda.gov/news-events/news/research-news/2023/bioluminescence-may-shine-light-on-roundworm-secrets/#:~:text=Even%20though%20roundworms%20are%20nearly,crop%20losses%20worldwide%20each%20year.">roundworms</a>, a parasitic worm that can &#8220;pose major problems in corn, soybean, peanut and other crops,&#8221; according to the U.S. government. There are many species of roundworms, many of which are uncommon in the United States. Some can cause health issues for humans, such as abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea, if they get into the digestive system, the Cleveland Clinic <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15240-roundworms">states</a>.
FBI Director Kash Patel revealed last week that a Chinese scholar at the University of Michigan was arrested and charged with attempting to smuggle a biological pathogen into the United States that could be used for agricultural terrorism, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-arrest-chinese-scholar-for-attempting-to-smuggle-pathogen-used-for-agroterrorism-into-u-s">reported</a>.
According to federal prosecutors, Michigan scholar Yunqing Jian, along with her boyfriend, Zunyong Liu, tried to <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edmi/pr/chinese-nationals-charged-conspiracy-and-smuggling-dangerous-biological-pathogen-us">smuggle</a> Fusarium graminearum into the United States. Fusarium graminearum can cause “head blight,” a disease that can wipe out wheat, barley, maize, and rice crops and “is responsible for billions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year.” The pathogen can also cause “vomiting, liver damage, and reproductive defects in humans and livestock.”
