Joe Rogan reacted Friday to the blood-red background of President Joe Biden’s Thursday night speech in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
The host of Spotify’s “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast posted his thought on the viral photo of Biden standing against the dark red and black background of the hall on Instagram.

“Imagine thinking this was a good idea,” Rogan shared with his 15.5 million followers.
Looking through comments to the podcast host’s post, many of his followers made it clear they didn’t realize the photo was real and thought it was just a meme going around.
Several other people noted how it looked like something from the “Star Wars” franchise, comparing Biden to Emperor Palpatine.
Even Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) noted the similarity.

Others said it looked like something from the dystopian film “V for Vendetta,” comparing Biden to High Chancellor Adam Sutler.
And they weren’t the only ones. In Meghan McCain’s article Friday for the Daily Mail, she compared the president’s backdrop to that of a “dictator from a science fiction movie.”
“Look at the bizarre and apocalyptic optics of the speech,” the former cohost of “The View” wrote. “He stood at his podium in front of murky red lighting: this was the backdrop of a dictator from a science fiction movie, not the democratically elected President of America.”

“Whomever oversaw set design in the White House clearly wanted him to look ominous and intimidating, like a character from ‘V for Vendetta’ or the ‘Twilight Zone,’” she added.
Country singer John Rich told his hundreds of thousands of followers, “I could almost smell the sulphur …” as he too shared the same dark photograph from the speech.

Members of both sides of the media also called attention to the imagery and various elements of the backdrop they found disturbing, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
