<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ongoing drama between political commentator Meghan McCain and “The White Lotus” actress Carrie Coon is still going strong, which is enough to make McCain question why the actress on one of the most popular shows on TV right now is so fixated on her and other conservatives actually watching it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I don’t understand why Carrie Coon’s been talking about me as much as she has,” McCain told The Daily Wire. “It just feels so random, like given that she’s on the biggest show on TV.”</span></p>
<p>It all started with a back and forth on social media. Coon, who plays an affluent liberal hotel guest on the hit HBO series, responded to one of McCain&#8217;s posts on X <span style="font-weight: 400;">about President Donald Trump voicing support for cancer treatment during his address to Congress, which McCain </span><a href="https://x.com/MeghanMcCain/status/1897127251445154235"><span style="font-weight: 400;">described</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as “so beautiful.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Coon responded by commenting, “Who’s gonna tell her?” McCain shot back with a still from the HBO series of Kate, who plays Coon&#8217;s conservative friend, making an annoyed and disgusted face. A few days later, McCain <a href="https://x.com/MeghanMcCain/status/1898824564567597307">told</a> X followers that she couldn’t “decide if I should still watch White Lotus tonight since one of the stars decided to tweet some nasty crap at me.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Podcast host Megyn Kelly chimed in, </span><a href="https://x.com/megynkelly/status/1898835232075505669"><span style="font-weight: 400;">saying</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, “Watch it anyway. Virtually every star in every movie and TV show hates conservatives, who could watch nothing if the prerequisite were: the ppl on screen could possibly like me or be like me.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But Coon didn’t stop at the snarky tweet. While speaking to </span><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/white-lotus-finale-mike-white-interview-1236177751/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Hollywood Reporter</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> on April 2, she said, “I do think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really gratified to see a conservative person on television,” referencing Bibb’s character, who called herself an “independent” and strongly insinuated she voted for Trump.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McCain expressed her surprise at being name-dropped in the magazine interview. “I’ve never met this woman. I do not know this person,” she emphasized. “If I were on the number one HBO show that everyone on planet earth was talking about, I tell you one thing: I would not be feuding with me on Twitter.”</span></p>

<p>McCain told The Daily Wire that she thinks it&#8217;s &#8220;triggering&#8221; for Coon that conservative women exist.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It’s so triggering for people like her that Republican women exist, that we just live in the world and breathe and watch her content,” McCain said. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She also pointed out the hypocrisy of actors criticizing audiences with opposing views while still expecting their support. “I just don’t understand this,” she said, adding that the whole thing was “weird and unfortunate.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She added that while she doesn’t necessarily feel “represented” by the closeted conservative character of Kate, she does respect her the most out of the trio of friends on “The White Lotus.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I do think it’s interesting that she’s not the dark villain of the show,” she added, praising creator Mike White for giving all the characters nuance and depth. “She’s like a normal friend. She was the one that was drinking water and had her pajamas on … the one who’s going to church every week.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It&#8217;s also possible that the narrative changes. &#8220;The White Lotus&#8221; season 3 finale, titled &#8220;Amor Fati,&#8221; is this Sunday, and as anyone who&#8217;s watched the first two seasons knows, anything can happen. So maybe the seemingly normal friend will end up being the murderer? </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">I have had the pleasure of meeting Payton &#8211; she is incredibly smart, strong and brave. Both she and her family have been through the unthinkable,” McCain’s post read.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McCain hit back, </span><a href="https://x.com/MeghanMcCain/status/1896928345935466758"><span style="font-weight: 400;">writing</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, “Surprised you’re okay with violence against female athletes. Peyton suffered serious brain damage &#8211; just one story. You have my cell, always happy to talk privately or publicly on either of our shows because these conversations are reductive to hash out on social media.”</span></p>
<p>A short time later, McNabb saw Cohen&#8217;s dismissive post about the dangers of trans-identifying men playing in women&#8217;s sports and wrote on <a href="https://x.com/paytonmcnabb_/status/1897008078492454999" target="_blank" rel="noopener">X</a>, &#8220;Andy, calling the protection of women’s sports a ‘non-issue’ that affects ‘four people’ is not just dismissive—it’s factually wrong.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Hundreds of female athletes have lost podium spots, scholarships, and opportunities,&#8221; she added. &#8220;My own injury was life-changing. And even if it were just one girl, that’s one too many. This is about fairness and safety, not ‘vilification.'&#8221;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McCain wasn&#8217;t the only person who slammed the move by Senate Democrats after </span>a motion to invoke cloture on Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-AL) “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act” failed on Monday by a <a href="https://x.com/CraigCaplan/status/1896714793031188630" target="_blank" rel="noopener">51-45</a> vote. A three-fifths majority — or 60 votes — was needed to cap the debate and proceed to a final vote for passage sometime in the future.</p>
<p>Other outspoken advocates for women’s sports, like <a href="https://x.com/megynkelly/status/1896751618697383986" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Megyn Kelly</a> and Riley Gaines, took to social media and said the Democrats should be shamed for failing to protect young girls.</p>

<p>Meghan McCain fired back after Ana Navarro — her former cohost on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View&#8221; — appeared to toss a barb at her from the Hot Topics table on Thursday, accusing her of profiting from &#8220;influence peddling&#8221; in the same way that President Joe Biden&#8217;s embattled son Hunter had.</p>
<p>McCain, who left the show in 2021 due to what she called a &#8220;toxic&#8221; environment on set, took to X to fire back after Navarro made several pointed comments during the midday talk show&#8217;s broadcast.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don’t understand why my former colleagues @TheView @ABC bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis,&#8221; McCain posted. &#8220;It has been years — move on, I have.&#8221;</p>
<p>McCain went on to draw a clear line of distinction between her own life and that of Hunter Biden — who is currently at the center of a probe into alleged business dealings with foreign actors and multiple members of the Biden family, the president included.</p>

McCain said she’d been encouraged to use the prescription drug Ozempic, which has become a hot topic of conversation as celebrities have been using it for weight loss. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The former co-host of “The View” just welcomed her second daughter, Clover Jade, on January 19. She and husband Ben Domenech also have a 2-year-old daughter named Liberty Sage.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I just gave birth and I&#8217;m being urged to take a &#8216;miracle shot&#8217; of Ozempic as a quick fix &#8230; It&#8217;s horrifying, unfair and disturbing — and I refuse,&#8221; the op-ed title proclaims.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The article says McCain has been asked about </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/obesity"><span style="font-weight: 400;">weight loss</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> even now, just four weeks postpartum, and that those people have been suggesting Ozempic specifically. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;In case you&#8217;re unaware, there is a craze sweeping the nation: a new &#8216;miracle&#8217; drug. One injection, once a week, for a cool $1,000 a pop, and you can just melt the pounds away,&#8221; she wrote.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Elon Musk says he uses it. Kyle Richards, of ‘Real Housewives’ fame, who recently flaunted newly emerged abs, has denied taking it. But fellow reality TV star Jackie Goldschneider claimed &#8216;a lot&#8217; of her fellow cast members are on it,&#8221; the columnist continued.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McCain wrote that there are &#8220;people who legitimately struggle with obesity and need Ozempic. But I am not one of those people.&#8221; That’s why she was surprised when &#8220;casual friends&#8221; and &#8220;industry acquaintances&#8221; inquired if she planned to take it.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ozempic is an anti-diabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and is also used to treat obesity. There have been shortages of the drug as it gains popularity in the Hollywood community and beyond as a so-called miracle weight loss drug that helps suppress appetite and slow down gastric emptying, which makes users feel fuller for longer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s administered via a weekly injection. Recently, comedian Chelsea Handler admitted she was on Ozempic without realizing it. </span></p>

<p>And Griffin isn&#8217;t the only one to notice a toxic environment on the ABC show. Former cohost Candace Cameron Bure <a href="https://ew.com/tv/candace-cameron-bure-ptsd-hosting-the-view/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reflected</a> on her time at &#8220;The View&#8221; and said that there were times when, as the only conservative on the panel, she felt like a &#8220;punching bag.&#8221;</p>

She noted that one photo from one of the ad campaigns showed &#8220;a handbag on top of a pile of scattered documents,&#8221; and that &#8220;one of the pages is from a Supreme Court decision on child pornography laws.&#8221;</p>
<p>She accused <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/balenciaga-apologizes-for-advertisement-showcasing-minors-holding-bdsm-teddy-bear-purses" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Balenciaga of trying</a> to &#8220;shift blame to the production company and set designer behind the shoot.&#8221; But she said the idea &#8220;that these highly produced and — without a doubt — expensive photo shoots were not closely supervised and reviewed by every executive, photo editor and stylist in the company just doesn&#8217;t fly.&#8221;</p>
<p>McCain then lashed out at those linked to the campaign and company, like Kidman and Kardashian.</p>
<p>&#8220;Nicole Kidman, also in the 2023 ad, reportedly hasn&#8217;t said a peep,&#8221; McCain wrote before noting that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kim-kardashian-slammed-for-statement-over-balenciaga-scandal-there-is-no-grey-area-here" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kardashian</a> did respond and vowed to re-evaluate her partnership with the fashion house.</p>
<p>&#8220;For the record, I think she&#8217;s a coward for not immediately cutting ties with Balenciaga and I predict this choice will haunt her for years,&#8221; McCain wrote of Kardashian. &#8220;The bottom line here is that grownups are supposed to protect children – period. And as a society, we seem to be failing the most innocent and vulnerable, who have no advocates but us.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Why in this instance are celebrities being so understanding?&#8221; she added. &#8220;I will never buy another piece of Balenciaga clothing ever again &#8230; I am not comfortable giving money to any company, who not only enables the sexual exploitation of children, but also doesn&#8217;t seem [capable] of taking responsibility for the heinous bile they have injected into society.&#8221;</p>

<p>The former co-host of &#8220;The View&#8221; wrote an op-ed for the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11267365/Trevor-Noah-ruining-Daily-MEGHAN-MCCAIN.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> Friday, titled &#8220;I loved The Daily Show and Trevor Noah ruined it — the best comedy punches up at the powerful but today&#8217;s late-night hosts are too scared to be funny.&#8221;</p>
<p>In the piece, McCain shared that after Noah took over for late-night host Jon Stewart in 2015, the comedy show has &#8220;slogged into mediocrity and quite frankly, boredom&#8221; as she talked about the host being more interested in his “‘cool kid&#8217; clout in the media.&#8221;</p>

<p>Several other people noted how it looked like something from the “Star Wars” franchise, comparing Biden to Emperor Palpatine.</p>
<p>Even Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) noted the similarity.</p>

In <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/meghan-mccain">Meghan McCain&#8217;s</a> article Friday for the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/columnists/article-11173485/MEGHAN-MCCAIN-Bidens-unhinged-assault-MAGA-Republicans-throws-gas-fire-raging-country.html">Daily Mail</a>, she compared the president&#8217;s backdrop to that of a “dictator from a science fiction movie.”</p>
<p>“Look at the bizarre and apocalyptic optics of the speech,” the former cohost of “The View” wrote. “He stood at his podium in front of murky red lighting: this was the backdrop of a dictator from a science fiction movie, not the democratically elected President of America.”</p>

<p>The account posted a photo from the late senator&#8217;s funeral — with his daughter Meghan McCain standing beside the casket in tears — and added just two words by way of a caption: &#8220;Happy Holidays.&#8221;</p>
