Jewel is not confirming or denying that she’s in a relationship with Kevin Costner.
The 49-year-old singer-songwriter dodged the question during an interview with Elle published Wednesday. When asked about their rumored romance, Jewel said, “He’s a great person.”
The interviewer noted that she was blushing when she said, “The public fascination is intense for sure.”
Jewel and Costner have been a rumored couple ever since they were spotted together at a charity event in the British Virgin Islands in December 2023, according to People.
Costner recently went through a very public divorce with Christine Baumgartner. The former couple filed for divorce in May 2023 after almost 20 years of marriage.
The 69-year-old actor, who shares three teenage children with his ex, said he was “shook up” from the divorce. Costner elaborated on those feelings after winning a court battle about child support payments.
“So, there’s a few things I have to do with this seismic change,” Costner told Fox News in September. “There’s a few responsibilities I can’t run away from. Mostly what I have to do is figure out how to spend more time with the children and help walk them through this … spend a little time with myself.”
Jewel is also divorced. The Grammy-Award-winning singer was married to rodeo competitor Ty Murray from 2008 until 2015 and shares a 12-year-old son, Kase, with him.

The singer told People of their split in 2017, “I don’t think any parent goes into a relationship and a marriage and having a child thinking of a divorce one day.”
“I don’t know if that’s a regret. One of the reasons I got divorced, though, is when I looked at my child, I realized I wasn’t the woman I wanted him to know. I had to change some things about myself,” she continued.
Rumors were circulating in November that Costner might be dating actress Reese Witherspoon, but she denied them outright.
“This story is completely fabricated and not true,” a representative for the “Legally Blonde” star told Page Six at the time.
Costner is currently working on a four-part Western-themed movie series, representing his first big project since his exit from Paramount Network’s hit series, “Yellowstone.”
