NFL star Jason Kelce went viral for his response to a follower who asked him about having Irish wolfhounds for pets, something Kelce has firsthand knowledge about.
In a Wednesday post on X, the fan of the Philadelphia Eagles center’s podcast “New Heights,” which he cohosts with his brother Travis Kelce, thought to ask if the breed of dog would be a good pet for him since Kelce and his wife Kylie own two of the giant dogs, named Winnie and Baloo.
“[Jason Kelce], listen, love ‘New Heights,’ so I gotta come to the source directly ASAP, do I need an Irish wolfhound in my life or do I need one?” the fan wrote.

Kelce gushed about what “wonderful animals” his pups are and said “absolutely adore mine.”
“Very loving and connected with their humans,” the NFL player wrote. “Not for everyone though.”
“If you travel a lot, have limited amount of space, keep food on the counter, and have nice furniture, they may not be for you,” he added.
In a later response, Jason said they have great temperament, calling them “incredibly gentle, loyal, majestic lapdogs that hate being away from their owners.”

“New Heights” podcast fans often get to catch a glimpse of the giant canines, and the Eagles center often posts picture of him and his pups. In one on Instagram, Kelce was holding a piece of pizza to the dogs, one of which towered over him to get it, and he’s 6-foot-3.
In a recent podcast episode, Kylie — a cat lover — was a guest on the show, and she tried to get Travis to help convince Jason how great it would be to bring a cat into their family, making a subtle reference to Kelce’s superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s known love for cats.

“No, here’s the deal, I told Jason that I want to get a cat,” Jason’s wife said. “And he told me no. And I feel like you might like cats now.”
Following Kylie’s husband’s shirtless antics at the Chiefs-Bills playoff game in January, she joked that she’s not “asking for permission, I’m doing this.’ – the exact quote I will say when I’m grabbing the keys to go get a cat,” the Daily Mail noted.
“Ky tweeted this or Instagrammed this and immediately, I googled ‘how to lose a cat.,'” Kelce said, referencing his wife’s comments. “Nothing came up. The only thing that came up was like, ‘Oh, are you sad you just lost a cat?’ Like, no, I need to lose a cat. I’m not worried about losing it. I want to lose it, and I’m surprised that there was nowhere to research good ways to accidentally lose a cat.”
