Jamie Foxx has credited God for “finally startin to feel” better after the superstar had to be hospitalized in April for a yet-to-be disclosed “medical complication” that he said left him on an “unexpected dark journey” for months.
On Wednesday, the 55-year-old actor and comedian wrote on Instagram that he was thankful he was starting to feel like himself again after being in the hospital.
“You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…” Foxx wrote. “It’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light…”
“I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers…” he added. “I have a lot of people to thank… [You] just don’t know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day…”

Since the actor was hospitalized, very little has been released as to what the health scare was he had to deal with. His daughter, actress Corrine Foxx, first announced the news on Instagram.
In Corrine’s original post, she wrote, “From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family ask for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”
Foxx’s rep later denied claims that Foxx was experiencing medical issues as a side effect of getting a COVID booster shot, calling the allegations “completely inaccurate.”

Friend and actor Nick Cannon said that it did not surprise him that Foxx was keeping details about the medical emergency private, LA Times noted.
“One thing I’ve always respected about how Jamie’s moved throughout his entire career, if you’ve noticed, he’s always been somebody who is extremely professional and extremely private,” Cannon said at the time. “…I believe when he’s ready, he’s going to address the awaiting fans in the world [about his health scare] the way that only he can.”
