A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/fox-news" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> producer is out at the network after a chyron on a broadcast referred to President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> as a “wannabe dictator” on Tuesday. 
Producer Alex McCaskill, who worked with former Fox host Tucker Carlson, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fox-news-dictator-headline-biden-producer-resigns-e1144344fc8e603b10c1667db2ce27e8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Instagram that he was no longer working for the network. McCaskill was reportedly behind the chyron which read, “Wannabe dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested,” according to the Associated Press.
“Today was my last day at Fox,” McCaskill said on Instagram on Thursday. “It’s been a wild 10 years and it was the best place I’ve ever worked because of the great people I met. But the time has come. I asked them to let me go, and they finally did. To all my friends there: I will miss you forever.”
Carlson, who was fired from Fox in April, responded to the chyron on his Twitter show <a href="https://twitter.com/TuckerCarlson/status/1669472439472988161" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Tucker on Twitter”</a> on Thursday. 
“Inside Fox, the women who run the network panicked. First, they scolded the producer who put the banner on the screen. Less than 24 hours after that he resigned,” Carlson said, referring to the producer who put up the chyron as  “one of the most capable persons in the building.”
The former Fox host went on to criticize the network for its apology over the label. The network <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/16/business/media/tucker-carlson-producers-leave-fox.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the label “was taken down immediately and was addressed.”

Some <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fox-news-raises-eyebrows-with-new-nickname-for-president-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">immediately criticized the network</a>, suggesting that it was a calculated move to mitigate continued fallout from the recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fox-settles-landmark-defamation-suit-sparing-murdoch-from-witness-stand">Dominion lawsuit</a> and bring back <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tucker-carlson-ouster-may-sideline-him-for-2024-election-report">audience members</a> who might still be angry over the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-tucker-carlson-out-at-fox-news-channel">ouster</a> of Carlson.
Many conservatives, including Carlson, appeared to accept the chyron as an accurate assessment of the situation.
“Of course Joe Biden’s not a wannabe dictator. Just because he’s trying to put the other candidate in prison for the rest of his life for a crime he himself committed doesn’t mean he has a totalitarian impulse. That’s absurd! It takes a lot more than jailing your political rivals to earn the title of ‘wannabe dictator,’” Carlson said. 
Another former Fox employee who worked with Carlson, Thomas Fox, also <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/16/business/media/tucker-carlson-producers-leave-fox.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> left the network this week.

Fox Producer Out At Network After Chyron Referring To Biden As ‘Wannabe Dictator’

The Trump administration said Friday that it was encouraged by “reports” that Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell was considering resigning. 
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte <a href="https://www.fhfa.gov/news/news-release/statement-from-chairman-of-the-board-of-fannie-mae-and-freddie-mac-william-j.-pulte-on-reports-that-jerome-powell-is-considering-resigning" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a statement saying that it would help the economy for Powell to retire. It is unclear what reports Pulte was referring to, but Trump has repeatedly slammed Powell for his refusal to lower interest rates and called for him to leave his post. 
“I’m encouraged by reports that Jerome Powell is considering resigning. I think this will be the right decision for America, and the economy will boom,” Pulte said. 
Earlier in the day, Trump again laid into Powell as he spoke to reporters before leaving for a trip to visit flood victims in Texas. 
“I think he’s doing a terrible job,” Trump said. “I think we should be 3 points lower, interest rates. He’s costing our country a lot of money.”
“We should be No. 1, and we’re not, and that’s because of Jerome Powell,” the president added. 
During his cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Trump <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/trump-demands-terrible-fed-chair-powell-resign-immediately-calls-rate-cuts">said</a> that Powell should “resign immediately” so someone could be appointed who would lower interest rates. 
&#8220;He&#8217;s always late. But he wasn&#8217;t late with Biden before the election, he was cutting them like crazy. It didn&#8217;t help too much, did it? But he was cutting them like crazy before the election with Kamala and Biden. He was trying to get them in, I guess. I don&#8217;t know, he was recommended by somebody who worked for me,&#8221; the president said.
Powell’s term as Fed chair ends in May 2026, but his current term at the Fed goes until January 2028.

“While continuing to run a deficit since FY23 (the first time in the Fed&#8217;s history), the Fed is way over budget on the renovation of its headquarters,” Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought <a href="https://x.com/russvought/status/1943362774416883908">said</a> on Thursday. “Now up to $2.5 billion, roughly $700 million over its initial cost. These renovations include terrace rooftop gardens, water features, VIP elevators, and premium marble. The cost per square foot is $1,923&#8211;double the cost for renovating an ordinary historic federal building. The Palace of Versailles would have cost $3 billion in today&#8217;s dollars!&#8221;

Trump Admin Cheers ‘Reports’ That Jerome Powell ‘Considering Resigning’

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would not support any Republican who voted against defunding the parent company of NPR and PBS in an upcoming bill that would enshrine DOGE cuts into law. 
Trump urged Republicans in the Senate to back a $9.4 billion rescission package already passed by the House, which would include more than $1 billion in reductions for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the nonprofit that was created by Congress and is funded by the federal government but is not a governmental agency. The House passed the White House&#8217;s proposed package 214-212 last month, and the Senate is expected to vote next week. 
“It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN &amp; MSDNC put together,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The legislation <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-passes-doge-cuts-targeting-foreign-aid-npr-and-pbs">would cut</a> $8.3 billion in foreign spending, including funding for “Net Zero Cities” in Mexico, Iraqi “Sesame Street,” and global LGBTQ+ initiatives, as well as $1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In May, Trump signed an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/ending-taxpayer-subsidization-of-biased-media/">executive order</a> directing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to stop funding NPR and PBS, saying the entities were deeply infected with leftwing bias. 
“The [Corporation for Public Broadcasting]’s governing statute reflects principles of impartiality: the CPB may not ‘contribute to or otherwise support any political party,’” the order says. “The CPB fails to abide by these principles to the extent it subsidizes NPR and PBS.  Which viewpoints NPR and PBS promote does not matter. What does matter is that neither entity presents a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens.”
NPR and several smaller publicly funded networks have challenged the order in court, <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.280953/gov.uscourts.dcd.280953.1.0_1.pdf">arguing</a> that it contradicts previous funding allocations made by Congress and violates the First Amendment. The courts have yet to issue a ruling on the suit, but parts of the argument could become moot if the Senate votes to pull the previously authorized spending. 
Some Republicans, including Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, have already voiced opposition to the proposed cuts. The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-threatens-gop-senators-over-vote-on-doge-cuts-f5a86c19?utm_source=chatgpt.com">reported</a> that Senator Mike Rounds of South Dakota also indicated he was seeking an exemption for the funding of American Indian public radio stations.

Trump Warns Republican Senators: Defund NPR And PBS Or Lose My Endorsement

Six Secret Service agents were suspended without pay due to security failures during the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, nearly a year ago.  
Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-assassination-attempt-butler-secret-service-suspension/">told</a> CBS News on Wednesday that the suspensions ranged from 10 to 42 days, and the personnel were placed on restricted duty with reduced responsibilities upon their return to work. Quinn’s revelation came just days before the one-year anniversary of the July 13 Butler attack, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired off eight rounds at Trump, striking him in the ear, killing one rallygoer, and injuring two others. 
&#8220;We aren&#8217;t going to fire our way out of this,&#8221; Quinn said. &#8220;We&#8217;re going to focus on the root cause and fix the deficiencies that put us in that situation.&#8221; 
Quinn said that the department was “laser-focused” on addressing the problems that left Trump, rallygoers, and the general public vulnerable during the assassination attempt. 
&#8220;Secret Service is totally accountable for Butler,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Butler was an operational failure and we are focused today on ensuring that it never happens again and executing our strategic plan to increase technology, to improve communications, to make sure our personnel are well-trained, equipped and deployed.”
He stated that the agency was now utilizing mobile command posts to maintain radio contact with local law enforcement and had begun using new, military-grade drones. At Butler, no drones were used, and Crooks was able to climb onto a rooftop outside of the security perimeter with a rifle about 150 yards away from the stage where Trump was speaking.
ABC News<a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/secret-service-agents-suspended-conduct-attempted-trump-assassination/story?id=123628351" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> reported</a> that those disciplined ranged from agents at the supervisory level to the line agent level, and the suspensions had been served in &#8220;recent months.&#8221;
Reports from both the House and Senate concluded that the attack was preventable, finding that the Secret Service was woefully unprepared. 
The Senate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/secret-service-was-told-of-credible-threat-to-trump-days-before-butler-rally">report</a> found that Crooks was also able to “fly a drone 200 yards from the site, use a rangefinder capable of gauging the distance to the former president less than an hour before he began speaking, and bring two explosive devices within proximity of the site of the rally.&#8221; 
The report detailed that local law enforcement had warned the Secret Service about the potential threat posed by the roof was a possible security vulnerability, but did not allocate resources to secure it. 
Furthermore, the Secret Service was informed that Crooks was on the roof of the building at least two minutes before he started shooting, yet Trump was not moved from the stage. Prior to that, they had known that a suspicious person was hanging around the same building for at least 27 minutes before the shooting. 
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position about 10 days after the attack, shortly after she was grilled by lawmakers about the security failures and faced calls from both Democrats and Republicans to step down.

‘Operational Failure’: Secret Service Suspended Six Agents After Trump Assassination Attempt

Trump&#8217;s Department of Homeland Security slammed a Minnesota newspaper for suggesting that illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes against children may have just been confused about American culture.
The agency slammed the Minnesota Star Tribune on Wednesday for running an <a href="https://www.startribune.com/hmong-minnesotans-face-deportation-laos-ice-arrests/601385285">article</a> that said a group of Laotians arrested for child sex crimes may be victims of a “cultural misunderstanding.” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told The Daily Wire that the story was one of the worst examples of media coverage of the deportations of convicted criminals.  
“We have seen a lot of gross reporting, but this may take gold for despicable. There is no excuse for anyone to commit crimes against innocent children. These pedophiles are the types of sickos our brave ICE law enforcement officers are putting their lives on the line to arrest and remove from American communities,” she said. 
Last Thursday, the Star Tribune wrote that the Department of Homeland Security was overlooking the fact that Laotians arrested for child sex crimes grew up in a culture where young marriages are normal. 
“Some Hmong Minnesotans say they suspect many of the decades-old arrests that led to the deportations were a result of Hmong culture encouraging girls as young as 14 to date and even marry older men, which is against the law in the United States,” the outlet reported. “Their lives in Southeast Asia often lacked education, several Hmong Minnesotans said, and they often did not understand American laws.”
One of those featured sympathetically in the article was Chia Neng Vue, an illegal alien from Laos who was convicted in 1998 of criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 and committing a crime for the benefit of a gang. 
Despite a judge ordering his removal in October 2003, Vue continued to rack up a criminal history in the United States. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Vue was arrested at least five more times between 2009 and 2012 for crimes including possession of a gun, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and domestic abuse.
“This illegal alien repeatedly broke our laws, committed sex and other violent crimes,&#8221; McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. &#8220;Why does the media continue to peddle sob stories of criminal illegal aliens — including child pedophiles — but ignore their American victims?&#8221;
&#8220;Instead of glorifying child pedophiles and violent criminal illegal aliens, the Minnesota Star Tribune should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these pedophiles from Minnesota,&#8221; she added.
A GoFundMe for Vue mentions that he has a family currently, but described his 1998 conviction for criminal contact with a girl under the age of 13 as part of “some bad decisions as a juvenile.&#8221;
The Star Tribune also quoted Democratic-Farmer-Labor State Senator Foung Hawj, who suggested that the ICE operations were overbroad. “Here we are, sending their children back over some petty misdemeanor, or things like early marriage that are transitioned by culture,” he said.
Hawj did not return a request for comment on whether he supported the deportation of Vue. 
The outlet also quoted another woman saying the cultural difference should be examined. 
“It’s seen in the eyes of American culture as, ‘You’re a predator,’” the woman said. “But in Hmong culture, he did nothing wrong.”
Other illegal alien Laotians arrested by Homeland Security Investigations in St. Paul include 44-year-old Yia Xiong, who was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and 44-year-old Thong Lao, who was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

Trump Department Of Homeland Security Slams Journos For Defending Illegal Immigrant Pedophiles

X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced Wednesday that she was stepping down from her role at the social media platform, just over two years after Elon Musk selected her to run the company. 
Yaccarino, who was previously the head of global advertising at NBCUniversal, described her time at X as “incredible.” She first became CEO of the company in May 2023.

The resignation comes one day after Grok, X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, made posts praising Adolf Hitler. Sources familiar with Yaccarino’s decision to step down said that the move had been in the works for over a week, and was not related to the Grok issues. 
Yaccarino highlighted the changes introduced to X during her tenure, including a “Community Notes” feature —a crowdsourced fact-checking and context-adding tool designed to identify misinformation. 
“We started with the critical early work necessary to prioritize the safety of our users—especially children, and to restore advertiser confidence. This team has worked relentlessly from groundbreaking innovations like Community Notes, and, soon, X Money to bringing the most iconic voices and content to the platform. Top Executive At X Steps Down From Elon Musk’s Social Platform

The FBI busted a multi-million dollar marijuana trafficking scheme run by Chinese nationals, the Justice Department said Tuesday. 
Seven Chinese nationals were charged over an alleged marijuana conspiracy operating out of Massachusetts and Maine. Investigators said that the operation, which began in January 2020, generated millions of dollars by distributing kilogram-sized quantities of marijuana in bulk.
“This case pulls back the curtain on a sprawling criminal enterprise that exploited our immigration system and our communities for personal gain,” <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/seven-chinese-nationals-charged-alleged-roles-multi-million-dollar-money-laundering">said</a> U.S. Attorney Leah Foley. “These defendants allegedly turned quiet homes across the Northeast into hubs for a criminal enterprise – building a multi-million-dollar black-market operation off the backs of an illegal workforce and using our neighborhoods as cover. That ends today.”
Those charged are 39-year-old Jianxiong Chen, 36-year-old Yuxiong Wu, 38-year-old Dinghui Li, 35-year-old Dechao Ma, 35-year-old Peng Lian Zhu, 35-year-old Hongbin Wu, and 47-year-old Yanrong Zhu. Yanrong Zhu &#8220;remains a fugitive,&#8221; while the others were all taken into federal custody, according to the DOJ. 
They are all charged with conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, and possess with intent to distribute marijuana, and many face money laundering charges as well. Chen, who investigators say was the mastermind behind the operation, is also charged with smuggling aliens into the United States.

FBI agent Ted Docks said that Chen, who lived in Braintree, Massachusetts, a city about 12 miles south of Boston, smuggled Chinese nationals over the Mexican border and forced them to work at marijuana grow houses to pay off the smuggling fees and get their passports back. 
In addition to Braintree, there were grow houses in the Massachusetts cities of Melrose and Greenfield. 
In October 2024, investigators recovered more than $270,000 in cash, a Porsche, and multiple Chinese passports and other identification documents inside a safe at Chen’s house in Braintree. Investigators also seized more than 109 kilograms of marijuana, nearly $200,000 in cash, and a $65,000 Rolex watch at the homes of other alleged conspirators.

In the last several years, Chinese-backed marijuana operations have cropped up across the United States, and there have been major drug busts in states like New Mexico and <a href="https://www.themainewire.com/2023/11/triad-weed-illegal-chinese-marijuana-grows-are-all-over-maine/">Maine</a>. In Maine alone, Border Patrol has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-chinese-marijuana-grow-operations-worth-billions-cropping-up-in-maine-border-patrol-memo">reportedly</a> identified at least 270 illegal marijuana grow operations that are worth billions of dollars.
Congressional lawmakers have also launched inquiries into the issue, saying that the operations pose significant national security risks.
