On Thursday, former Democratic Texas Rep. and failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, whose embrace of gun control included his desire to ban AR-15’s and whose latest attempt to seek office finds him running for governor of his state, found a new leftist bandwagon to jump on: transgender children. O’Rourke tweeted a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt emblazoned “Don’t Mess With Trans Kids.”

During his abortive campaign for president, O’Rourke was flailing about on the subject of the arms owned by civilians. Then in early October 2019, in the latest installment of “Beto O’Rourke: Real Person,” he offered a video about his own arm, following his wildly successful episodes of Beto Goes On the Road, Beto Goes To The Dentist, Beto Gets A Haircut, Beto Changes A Tire, and Beto Flips Burgers. O’Rourke actually offered a video of him bravely getting a flu shot.

As noted by The Daily Wire, Beto O’Rourke Goes On The Road featured a series of interminable videos of him driving during the campaign while he played rock music in the car, whether it was driving to Waco through the rain, driving to Houston at night, driving to Laredo, and driving to Killeen, among others.”
Beto Goes to the Dentist featured a “video showing him getting a mouth-wide-open cleaning in order to highlight the story of his dental hygienist’s upbringing in El Paso,” as Fox News reported. Fox News added, “With dental tools jammed into either side of his mouth, O’Rourke introduced his dental hygienist as part of his Instagram story ‘series’ on ‘people of the border.'”
Beto Gets A Haircut featured O’Rourke chatting with the barber in Spanish before another customer entered, and much to O’Rourke’s chagrin, recognized O’Rourke’s face but didn’t know who O’Rourke was. The viewers were even subjected to watching O’Rourke receive a back massage given by the barber.
Beto Changing A Tire depicted the forlorn failing presidential candidate fixing a flat tire on a truck.
At the beginning of September 2019, O’Rourke stated that if he were elected president, he would force citizens who owned “assault rifles” to sell them to the federal government, blaring, “I want to be really clear, that’s exactly what we are going to do. Americans who own AR-15’s, AK-15’s will have to sell them to the government.”
At the third Democratic debate in Houston, Texas, in September 2019, ABC News host David Muir asked O’Rourke, “Some on this stage have suggested a voluntary buyback for guns in this country. You have gone further. You said, quote, ‘Americans who own AR-15s and AK-47s will have to sell them to the government, all of them.’ You know the critics call this confiscation. Are you proposing taking away their guns and how would this work?”
O’Rourke responded:
I am, if it is a weapon that was designed to kill people on a battlefield. If the high impact high velocity round, when it hits your body, shreds everything inside of your body because it was designed to do that so that you would bleed to death on a battlefield and not be able to get up and kill one of our soldiers. When we see that being used against children and in Odessa. I met the mother of a 15-year-old girl who was shot by an AR-15. And that mother watched her bleed to death over the course of an hour because so many other people were shot by that AR-15 in Odessa and Midland [that] there weren’t enough ambulances to get to them in time. Hell, yes, we are going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.
