Fans can pay to see an Elvis Presley concert thanks to the growing popularity of AI technology in the concert sphere.

The new show, “Elvis Evolution,” will debut in London in November before premiering in Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo, according to a BBC report. The British immersive specialist company Layered Reality, which has produced previous AI-generated shows including “The Gunpowder Plot” and “The War of the Worlds,” has secured the global rights for the show.

Company reps describe it as a “jaw-dropping concert experience” where a life-sized digital Elvis “will perform iconic moments in musical history on a UK stage for the first time.”

The show will combine multiple technical elements, including AI, holographic projections, augmented reality, and live theater to make it look like Elvis is performing live on stage.

Layered Reality founder and CEO Andrew McGuinness described the project as “a next-generation tribute to the musical legend” that allows show attendees to “step into the world of Elvis and walk in his shoes,” per BBC.

McGuinness also said the show would provide “deeper insight into Elvis’s life, transporting fans back through the decades to experience his meteoric rise to fame, larger-than-life persona, and the cultural movement he catalyzed in the 1950s and 1960s.”

AI-generated concerts are becoming a trend. In December, the band KISS played their last live show but promised they’d return as digital avatars.

The band concluded their “End of the Road” farewell tour in New York City at Madison Square Garden by revealing the new digital images onstage.

“We can be forever young and forever iconic by taking us to places we’ve never dreamed of before,” KISS bassist Gene Simmons said. “The technology is going to make Paul (Stanley) jump higher than he’s ever done before.”

The new KISS avatars were created by George Lucas’ visual effects company, Industrial Light and Magic, and Pophouse Entertainment using motion capture technology.

And it’s not just Elvis and KISS hitting a stage via AI. The band ABBA kicked off its “Voyage” virtual concert in 2022 in London using the same type of digital avatars created by Industrial Light and Magic.
