<p>Actress Drew Barrymore said she wanted to &#8220;deeply apologize&#8221; for offending people by &#8220;making light&#8221; of the testimony during Johnny Depp&#8217;s defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.</p>
<p>The 47-year-old actress reacted to criticism in a video she shared Sunday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CdBtV_QrL-1/">Instagram</a> after Depp fans called out the host of &#8220;The Drew Barrymore Show.&#8221; Barrymore&#8217;s critics accused the star of &#8220;making light&#8221; of domestic violence after discussing the trial on her show Friday and laughed about some of the testimony, <a href="https://people.com/movies/drew-barrymore-apologizes-for-making-light-of-johnny-depp-amber-heard-trial/">reported</a> People magazine.</p>
<p>&#8220;It has come to my attention that I have offended people with making light of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard,&#8221; Barrymore shared. &#8220;And for that, I just want to deeply apologize and appreciate everyone who spoke out because this can be a teachable moment for me and how I move forward and how I conduct myself.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I can be a more thoughtful and better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I very much appreciate the depth of this and I will grow and change from it. And I thank everyone for helping me grow along the way and teaching me. Thank you.&#8221;</p>

<p>During the &#8220;Charlie&#8217;s Angels&#8221; star&#8217;s show Friday, she and guest Anthony Anderson <a href="https://www.unilad.co.uk/news/drew-barrymore-apologises-johnny-depp-amber-heard-trial-20220502?source=twitter">reportedly</a> talked about some of the things that have come out in the trial and laughed about them.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s like one layer of crazy, it&#8217;s a seven-layer dip of insanity,&#8221; Barrymore shared. &#8220;I know that these are two people&#8217;s real lives and I know what it&#8217;s like to have your life put out in public.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I understand all the feelings, but they are actually offering up this information that nobody had to know,&#8221; she added. &#8220;This is crazy!&#8221;</p>
<p>On Friday, one of Depp&#8217;s security guard&#8217;s testified the &#8220;Aquaman&#8221; <a href="https://www.insider.com/amber-heard-admitted-poop-johnny-depp-bed-guard-testifies-2022-4">actress allegedly admitted</a> to leaving feces in her and her ex-husband&#8217;s bed following a fight in April 2016.</p>
<p>Security guard Starling Jenkins testified about having &#8220;a conversation pertaining to the surprise [Heard] left in the boss&#8217;s bed&#8221; before accompanying the 36-year-old actress on a trip, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/amber-heard-admitted-to-leaving-poop-in-bed-called-it-horrible-practical-joke-security-guard-testifies">reported</a> by The Daily Wire.</p>
<p>Heard called the incident &#8220;a horrible practical joke gone wrong,&#8221; Jenkins explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Pirates of the Caribbean&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/it-was-so-bizarre-johnny-depp-details-account-of-amber-heard-allegedly-leaving-feces-in-their-bed-after-fight">star</a> is suing Heard for more than $50 million for defamation he claims hurt his career in Hollywood after she allegedly defamed him in an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018. Heard claims Depp&#8217;s legal team made false claims about her and is countersuing the actor for $100 million in damages. Heard is expected to testify in the coming days.</p>
<p>Depp and Heard tied the knot in 2015. In 2017, their divorce was finalized, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/04/25/howard-stern-johnny-depp-is-overacting-in-amber-heard-trial/">reported</a> Page Six.</p>
