Actor Daniel Radcliffe said he is not interested in any cameos for the new “Harry Potter” TV series that’s being developed for Max.

The actor shot to fame as the star of the film series, which began in 2001. The new TV version is expected to feature an entirely new cast of actors, per Deadline, and will last for ten years. Radcliffe said he isn’t interested in making an appearance.

“My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere,” the 33-year-old actor told ComicBook.com.

“So I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.”

“Harry Potter” fans have mixed feelings about the story being adapted into a TV series.

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, promised viewers this new project would be “a faithful adaptation” of the bestselling novels. “This new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years,” he said in April.

The network reportedly plans to include series creator J.K. Rowling as an executive producer despite all the backlash she’s inspired with her stance on trans issues. Rowling has been labeled a “TERF” (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) by critics for her insistence that biological sex is real.

Radcliffe is one of several “Harry Potter” stars who came out against Rowling. “Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional healthcare associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo [Rowling] or [me],” Radcliffe said in November when Rowling was getting trashed online.

“To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you.”
