Friends” actress Courteney Cox said she hasn’t read Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” but wants to address one of the claims he made about doing drugs at Cox’s house party.

The 58-year-old said friends told her about the passage, which mentioned the Duke of Sussex ingesting hallucinogenic mushrooms while attending the event at Cox’s home. The “Scream” star said if Harry did drugs at her house, she didn’t give them to him.

“[Harry] did stay here for a couple of days — probably two or three. He’s a really nice person,” Cox said during an interview with Variety. She went on to emphasize that she “definitely” wasn’t distributing mushrooms to party attendees.

“I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it,” she told the publication. “I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”

Prince Harry wrote in “Spare” about becoming a bit of a recluse following his second tour in Afghanistan, choosing most nights to stay in and watch television. “Day after day, night after night, I sat around eating takeaway, watching ‘24.’ Or ‘Friends.’ I think I might’ve watched every episode of ‘Friends’ in 2013. I decided I was a Chandler,” the Duke of Sussex wrote in the book.

That was part of what made it so memorable when Prince Harry found himself partying at Cox’s house a few years later while visiting Los Angeles with some friends. He detailed visiting the “Friends” star’s home and said he wondered if he’d ever work up the “courage” to tell her that he “was Chandler.”

Harry said he encountered the actor from “the Batman Lego movie” – likely Will Arnett – and asked him to do the character’s voice.

“Then, maybe to get rid of us, he led my mate and me to the fridge, from which he extracted a soft drink. While the door was open, we spotted a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates,” Harry wrote. “Somebody behind me said they were for everybody. Help yourself, boys. My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.”

The Duke of Sussex described the details of his hallucinations, too.

“Beside the toilet was a round silver bin, the kind with a foot pedal to open the lid. I stared at the bin. It stared back. What — staring? I stepped on the pedal. A huge open grin,” Harry continued in the book passage. “I laughed, turned away, took a piss. Now the loo became a head too. The bowl was its gaping maw, the hinges of the seat were its piercing silver eyes. It said, ‘Aaah.’”

Harry’s friend described having a more frightening experience in the bathroom, explaining that he saw a coat seemingly turn into a dragon and scare him. “My delightful trip had been his hell,” he wrote. “How delightful. How interesting. I led him outside gently, and told him it would all be OK.”
