<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daily Wire host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/candace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Candace Owens</a> on Tuesday defended her friend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kanye-west" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kanye West</a> after the pair sparked a Twitter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/paris-provocateurs-kanye-west-candace-owens-rock-white-lives-matter-shirts-at-fashion-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">meltdown</a> for donning shirts with the phrase &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kanye-west-calls-black-lives-matter-a-scam-declares-it-over-after-wearing-white-lives-matter-shirt-with-candace-owens" target="_blank" rel="noopener">White Lives Matter</a>&#8221; emblazoned on the back at </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">West&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paris</a> fashion show.</span></p>
<p>Owens, a fierce critic of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/black-lives-matter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Black Lives Matter movement</a> and, more generally, the Democratic Party, said outrage should not be sourced by a shirt that says white lives matter, but over real threats to the black community, like abortion, obesity, the breakdown of the family, and black-on-black crime — which the author described as a &#8220;racist&#8221; &#8220;truth.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;If &#8216;black lives matter,&#8217; then some of these things that we have been talking about on this show, things I&#8217;ve been talking about throughout my entire political career, would be getting attention, not the t-shirt,&#8221; Owens said on her podcast Tuesday.</p>
<p>The host first outlined the devastation abortion has caused for the black community in particular. &#8220;Just so we are clear, abortion in America has contributed to the greatest decline in black population since the first black slaves arrived,&#8221; Owens asserted, adding that &#8220;<a href="https://rtl.org/multicultural-outreach/black-abortion-statistics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">20 million black babies</a>&#8221; have been killed by abortion.</p>
<p>&#8220;For whatever reason, since we have convinced ourselves to genocide our own offspring, nobody cares,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;In fact, they tell you that it is your right [to abort] &#8230; 20 million black babies, and yet a t-shirt is what got attention last night.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;In 2012, more black babies were killed by abortion in New York City than were born,&#8221; Owens said, noting the <a href="https://www.congress.gov/115/meeting/house/106562/witnesses/HHRG-115-JU10-Wstate-ParkerS-20171101-SD001.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">placement</a> of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics near minority communities.</p>
<p>Obesity, too, is a top killer for all Americans, especially black women. &#8220;It&#8217;s the <a href="https://bigthink.com/health/obesity-leading-cause-death-america-shame/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">number one killer in America</a>,&#8221; she said, before snarking, &#8220;I know Black Lives Matter told you it was police shootings.&#8221;</p>
<p>The BLEXIT founder then discussed &#8220;criminality.&#8221; &#8220;No one wants to talk about criminality; people don&#8217;t want to talk about black-on-black crime,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Almost 40% of all of the homicide offenders in all of the United States,&#8221; the mother of two said, &#8220;we&#8217;re talking about 7% of the population is black men.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Let&#8217;s not talk about that,&#8221; Owens said. &#8220;In fact, let&#8217;s call that racist to even acknowledge that truth, to talk about the ills in our own community.&#8221;</p>
<p>The host then moved on to the education crisis, specifically regarding black boys. Owens listed off a host of shocking statistics, including that &#8220;74% of black boys in California can&#8217;t pass a basic reading exam.&#8221;</p>
<p>After recapping all the troubling issues she outlined, Owens mocked, &#8220;The real problem in black America is that Kanye and Candace put on a &#8216;White Lives Matter&#8217; t-shirt. So, let&#8217;s focus on that instead.&#8221;</p>
