<p>President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> is slated to sit down on Friday for his first TV interview since a shaky debate performance last week rocked the confidence many Democrats have in his effort to beat former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> in the 2024 election.</p>
<p>ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-joe-biden-sit-abc-news-friday-interview/story?id=111618360" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> on Tuesday that Biden will speak with &#8220;This Week&#8221; anchor George Stephanopoulos, who previously served as a communications director under former President Bill Clinton, one day after the July 4 holiday.</p>
<p>The network said a &#8220;first look&#8221; will appear on the Friday edition of &#8220;World News Tonight with David Muir&#8221; — which airs at 6:30 p.m. ET — and portions of the interview will air on Saturday and Sunday on &#8220;Good Morning America.&#8221;</p>
<p>Viewers will have to wait for Sunday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;This Week&#8221; on Sunday for the &#8220;extended&#8221; interview to air. It will be shown again on Monday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;Good Morning America,&#8221; ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-joe-biden-sit-abc-news-friday-interview/story?id=111618360" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> in a story posted on its website.</p>
<p>Many Democrats are panicking about the election and there is growing pressure on Biden to drop out, including from <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/06/28/influential-donors-biden-drop-out/74243603007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">donors</a> and at least <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lawmaker-becomes-first-democrat-to-publicly-call-on-biden-to-step-down-after-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one member of Congress</a>, and give the party the chance to rally behind an alternative nominee.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/poll-debate-should-biden-be-running-mental-abilities/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polling</a> from CBS News and YouGov after Biden&#8217;s halting debate presentation found that 41% of Democratic registered voters and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/post-debate-poll-shows-72-of-voters-say-biden-not-fit-to-serve?topStoryPosition=5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">72% of registered voters</a> overall do not believe Biden has the mental and cognitive health to serve as president.</p>

<p>House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS0bJpw5x88" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during an appearance on MSNBC earlier on Tuesday that Biden should agree to interviews with &#8220;serious journalists&#8221; to tackle the crisis of confidence that he is facing within his party.</p>
<p>&#8220;Show your values, show your knowledge, show your judgment, show your empathy for the American people,&#8221; Pelosi added. &#8220;I think that that would be a great thing for him. Not one, maybe two. A couple of those. I think that is essential.&#8221;</p>
<p>News of the interview drew some mockery and skeptical reactions on social media.</p>
<p>&#8220;To alleviate concerns about his mental capacity, Biden is going for a taped interview with a professional Democrat. Should clear things up! Sharp as a tack!&#8221; National Review Online editor Philip Klein <a href="https://x.com/philipaklein/status/1808204512965890213" target="_blank" rel="noopener">quipped</a> in a post to X.</p>
<p>&#8220;Wise comms professional notes that aside from this Biden &#8216;interview&#8217; being conducted by noted Dem operative George Stephanopoulos, it&#8217;s not even being aired live, so it can be edited, sliced, and diced to help Biden,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/MZHemingway/status/1808210202921164841" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway.</p>
