Political theorist Barbra Streisand lauded the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed that on January 6, 2021 former President Trump tried to get Secret Service to take him to the U.S. Capitol building.

Hutchinson, a former aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, stated before the January 6 House select committee that Anthony Ornato, a senior Secret Service official, said Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of the armored presidential limousine and lead security detail Bobby Engel responded “Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel.” Hutchinson claimed that Trump lunged at and assaulted the agent.

“I was on Nixon’s enemies list and intently watched the Watergate hearings. What Ms Hutchinson revealed today was far beyond John Dean’s testimony then,” Streisand burbled.

But as The Daily Wire reported, “CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz reported that ‘a Secret Service official familiar with the matter told CNN that Tony Ornato denies telling Cassidy Hutchinson that the former president grabbed the steering wheel or an agent on his detail.’”

John Santucci, executive editorial producer for ABC News, added, “Source close to the Secret Service tells @PierreTABC to expect the Secret Service to push back against any allegation of an assault against an agent or President Trump reaching for the steering wheel.”

Additionally, Hutchinson claimed she wrote a note stating “Anyone who entered the Capitol without proper authority should leave immediately.”

But that claim was disputed by former Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann, who claimed he wrote the note.

“The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021,” a spokesperson for Herschmann told ABC News. “All sources with direct knowledge and law enforcement have and will confirm that it was written by Mr. Herschmann.”

In March 2020, Variety published an op-ed Streisand in which she hysterically ranted about the possibility of President Trump’s reelection, stating, “The ‘beacon of hope’ that is America could be extinguished if he’s given another four years.”

Streisand began by stating, “Mr. Trump, let’s make America great again. But first, get one thing straight: America was great — before you were elected.”

Streisand must have confused Trump with New York Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo, who said in August 2018, “We’re not going to make America great again; it was never that great.”

Streisand continued, “Every morning I wake up, holding my breath while I turn on my phone to see the latest news. I think to myself, ‘It can’t be worse than yesterday.’ But when the news loads, I think, ‘Ohhhhh, yes, it is worse.’”

Streisand might simply have been worried about gaining weight; in March 2017 Streisand moaned, “Donald Trump is making me gain weight. I start the day with liquids, but after the morning news, I eat pancakes smothered in maple syrup!”

And, of course, there was this:
