“Avengers” star Jeremy Renner took some time on Friday to stop by Renown hospital in Reno, Nevada — one year almost to the day after he was air-lifted there following his near-fatal snowplow accident.
The “Hawkeye” actor offered his gratitude in a post he shared via Instagram on Friday, saying, “Rollin through Reno, NV with joy, blessings, and [pizza]!!!! Stopped by to see kids/superheroes, first responders, and doctors, nurses and staff at Renown hospital. Paying my respects and celebrating love, life and the blessings it brings to us all. Thank you and this community for keeping me here. I’m forever in your debt with gratitude #loveandtitanium.”

He shared the message along with a photo of himself, riding in the passenger seat of what appeared to be a fire truck. A sign on the truck’s door touted the “Rennervation Foundation” — Renner’s charitable organization geared toward providing “solid and compassionate support to vulnerable children, offering them a safe haven and targeted programs to develop their skills, confidence, and opportunities.”
Since the accident — which occurred when the snow-cat he’d been driving rolled over him — the actor has often shared updates documenting his recovery and offering encouragement to others who may also be struggling.
His first post came within days of the accident — when he was still “too messed up to type” but wanted his fans to know he was grateful for their prayers and well-wishes.

By early September, despite breaking 30 bones and suffering a collapsed lung, Renner was back on the leg-extension machine.
“Positive daily routines have been a solid foundation in my recovery. Build your mind, the body will follow. I make sure I get leg movements and stretches everyday … ‘oil’ up inside my metal/joints with movement … push out scar tissue, strengthen muscle, tendons to have more joint support,” Renner captioned the video.
“If you’re struggling, just know your attitude will dictate every waking moment moving forward …. Let go of the past, and move with positive intention and you will be provided. I promise.”

Just two months later — 10 months into his recovery — the actor was skipping and galloping down his driveway, a move that he said inspired “tears of joy” when he realized that he could do it.
“Today marks the day on 10 months of recovery,” he posted. “First attempt at any of this activity (especially at steep grade) and was brought to tears of joy, hopefulness, and gratitude for all your support along with my family and friends … I keep pushing for many reasons, but you are my fuel.”
