Actor Jeremy Renner revealed that his mother would like to burn the seven-ton snow plow that ran over him on New Year’s Day, nearly crushing him to death — but the “Hawkeye” star is having none of that.
According to a report from Page Six, Renner made the admission during a premiere event for his new Disney+ show “Rennervations” on Tuesday, saying that his mom had suggested they host a party and just light the offending piece of machinery on fire.
“My mom wants to light it on fire and have a big old party lighting it on fire, but the thing is amazing, and I love it. It’s a necessity,” Renner explained, noting that the amount of snow that often fell at his home near Reno, Nevada, made such a plow invaluable. “It’s a snowcat, and it’s a necessity on the property because we got so much snow up there.”
During a panel discussion hosted by comedian and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, Renner went on to say that having the premiere date set for his show had given him a concrete goal to work toward in his ongoing recovery.

“It set a big milestone for me to get better to make sure all of our hard work was not for naught … there’s no alternative,” he continued. “So to me it was easy, I had somewhere to go, somewhere to point and I had a lot of love, man, and I don’t know why, I feel like I don’t deserve it. I feel like I’m kind of a jerk half the time.”
Renner was airlifted from his home after an attempt to rescue his nephew resulted in the heavy plow rolling over the actor. He admitted during a recent interview with veteran journalist Diane Sawyer that he spent the early moments in the hospital putting notes in his phone that could be his “last words” to family members.
