Hollywood star Rob Lowe celebrated all that veterans and first responders have done in a Super Bowl LIX ad that most people probably didn’t see even though it aired during the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
In the 30 second ad — which only aired in local markets in Colorado and Wyoming — Lowe provides a voice over for an ad for the White Heart Foundation, a charity that focuses on providing mental health support for veterans and first responders &#8230; according to its <a href="https://www.whiteheart.org/history">website</a>.
“They’ve had our backs — now let’s have theirs,” Lowe captioned his post. “Veterans and first responders face unique mental health challenges, but they don’t have to face them alone.”

The ad opens with the message, “It’s a thankless job, you exist to provide hope, but the trauma you face doesn’t just stay on the job,” Lowe said. “It follows you home. This is the sacrifice you make so that others can have hope.”
“But everyone deserves hope. Even heroes,” it added. “Join us as we provide hope for America’s heroes. The White Heart Foundation.”
Throughout the ad, there are numerous images of military honors and medals, juxtaposed with images of fires and accidents. 
It was just one of several patriotic commercials that aired during the big game on Sunday, including a Jeep ad featuring actor Harrison Ford that also got a lot of attention.
“Freedom is for everybody. But it isn’t free. It’s earned,” Ford said in the <a href="https://x.com/MAC_Arms/status/1888947531083567317">ad</a> which aLeo featured images of the American flag. 
“There are real heroes in the world, but not the ones in the movies,” he added. “Real heroes are humble, and they’re not driven by pride … The most sacred thing in life isn’t the path. It’s the freedom to choose it.”
Another <a href="https://x.com/TheCalvinCooli1/status/1888729012358234224">ad</a> features actor Brad Pitt and celebrates America’s history, showcasing an image of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence and talking about celebrating the glory of the game not as individuals but as one. 
“We, the people. Today we come together, not just these players and coaches or these teams and sides. We, all of us, the dreamers, the warriors, the builders and believers,” Pitt said. 
“Brought together to celebrate our greatest game, the game that teaches us what we can achieve when we gather together in a that most American of formations, the one most fundamental to every play call in every game, the huddle,” he added. “Think about it. When we are bound by a common goal, we have reached heights, authored achievements, pushed progress, not alone but together, in ways that have lifted the world and one another.”

The 29-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actor</a> has been working with his father on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/netflix">Netflix</a> series “Unstable,” a workplace comedy about an introverted man tasked with saving his eccentric biotech entrepreneur father and his father’s company from disaster following the death of his wife.
Lowe discussed their relationship during a recently published <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/rob-lowes-son-says-complete-idiot-best-way">interview</a> with Fox News Digital.
&#8220;Professionally, I would say we found a groove, so we understood how to navigate each other&#8217;s behavior on set, which was not something we had ever experienced before,&#8221; Owen told the outlet.

&#8220;So, I think there was less frustration in that regard,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I won&#8217;t speak for him, but I will say for me, and I think that with that sort of additional respect for each other professionally, came some personal respect, just a modicum, just a tiny bit, but, it is very fun working with him. My dad, he is a complete idiot in the best way.&#8221;
Owen was quick to add that Lowe would be pleased to hear himself described this way. 
&#8220;I think he&#8217;d be thrilled that I&#8217;m saying that. He would take that as a compliment because he knows what I mean. He&#8217;s not stupid, but he is a fool,&#8221; Owen explained.
&#8220;I mean, who wouldn&#8217;t go insane working with their parents? It&#8217;s like that, you know? I think we all can relate to that in some way and my dad drives me insane,&#8221; Owen continued. &#8220;He is so annoying. Yeah, I get it. He&#8217;s a beloved, you know, person to many. I have unconditional love for him as my father, but I wouldn&#8217;t go as far as to say beloved.&#8221;
The actor added, &#8220;This is the least articulate I&#8217;ll be, but he&#8217;s just annoying. He&#8217;s really annoying. He comments on my hair and my clothes and how puffy my eyes are and why there are bags under my eyes in the morning and wants to know why I was up late and what I was doing. He&#8217;s nosy, and he wants to know about my personal life and who I&#8217;m dating and blah blah blah. He&#8217;s annoying.&#8221;
Owen also reflected on growing up as the son of a famous person. He said if he wins an Emmy at some point in his career, the audience will likely call him a “f***ing nepo baby.”

The actor told Fox News, &#8220;Rob Lowe loves being Rob Lowe. That&#8217;s the truth. He loves it and I think he would tell you that. I think because he had a good perspective about it. He didn&#8217;t take it too seriously. I will credit him and my mom in saying that I think I have a good head on my shoulders about the byproducts of success in the entertainment industry, like fame and, and, but it&#8217;s weird.”
He added, &#8220;Truthfully, it&#8217;s weird growing up with a famous parent. It&#8217;s strange going to dinners when you&#8217;re a kid and people come over and want a photo or an autograph and then getting old enough that people are interested in you as their byproducts.&#8221;
Owen said, &#8220;It&#8217;s a funky feeling at times, but you learn how to deal with it, and it&#8217;s never that serious. It&#8217;s just not that deep.&#8221;

The action film legend — a Republican who previously served as California&#8217;s 38th governor from 2003-2011 — said that from what he could see, the Democratic Party appeared to be actively working to &#8220;ruin&#8221; every city over which they had been able to gain control.
The conversation between the two longtime friends — as <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/podcasts/arnold-schwarzenegger-tells-rob-lowe-democrats-want-to-fck-up-every-city-in-america/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by Mediaite — eventually turned to the two major political parties and what each stood for in terms of policies and priorities.
Lowe led off with an example — former Rep. David Dreier (R-CA).
&#8220;Okay, let me ask you this, and I ask people this all the time,&#8221; the former Brat Pack member began. &#8220;David Dreier, good friend of ours and a good man. Surfer for many, many, many years. He used to have the greatest, &#8216;what makes me a Republican,&#8217; and he had I think four or five things. I think it was, in no particular order, strong military, low taxes, less government, more personal freedoms. There might have been one more, but it makes sense to know –&#8221;
&#8220;Strong law enforcement,&#8221; Schwarzenegger prompted.
&#8220;Strong law enforcement,&#8221; Lowe agreed before pivoting in the opposite direction. &#8220;And then I’d like to know, I always ask Democrats what it means to be a Democrat in that way. And I, I think whatever anybody would say –&#8221;
&#8220;Ruin your cities,&#8221; the &#8220;Terminator&#8221; star interrupted.
&#8220;What would they say?&#8221; Lowe asked.
&#8220;Ruin your cities,&#8221; Schwarzenegger said again.
&#8220;Ruin your cities,&#8221; Lowe repeated.
&#8220;That’s what the Democrats would say. We are about ruining the cities. We want to f*** up every city in America. That seems to be the theme right now,&#8221; he said.
Lowe asked why Schwarzenegger thought Democrats would want something like that, and the &#8220;True Lies&#8221; star admitted that he was at a loss.
&#8220;I have no idea,&#8221; he said.

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rob-lowe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rob Lowe</a> compared his time working on the “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The West Wing</a>” set to an unhealthy relationship. 
The 59-year-old star played deputy communications director Sam Seaborn during the first four seasons of the hit NBC political drama. 
“The West Wing” was a huge success for the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">network</a>, bringing home four outstanding drama series Emmys. The popular program was a fictional portrayal of a U.S. president and his administration. Lowe’s decision to leave at the height of the show’s popularity was a surprise to fans.
Now the actor is hinting at why he chose to exit. During an interview on the Stitcher Studios’ Podcrushed show, Lowe called his departure “the best thing I ever did” and likened his tenure on the show to “a super unhealthy relationship.”
The actor said he “felt very undervalued” there, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/08/rob-lowe-the-west-wing-super-unhealthy-relationship-claims-1235459155/">Deadline</a>.
“I did not have a good experience,” Lowe said. Referencing the popularity of the series, he said, “I walked away from the most popular girl at school, but I also knew that it was a super unhealthy relationship, and it was the best thing I ever did.”

Lowe didn’t elaborate on what caused him to feel this way on set.
When the actor left the series in 2002, he didn’t hint at any animosity. The official statement from Warner Brothers Television and John Wells Productions said the separation happened “amicably.”
“As much as it hurts to admit it, it has been increasingly clear, for quite a while, that there was no longer a place for Sam Seaborn on The West Wing,” Lowe said in a statement at the time. “Warners had allowed me an opportunity to leave the show as I arrived — grateful for it, happy to have been on it and proud of it. We were a part of television history and I will never forget it.”
A <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/TV/07/24/west.wing.lowe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> report at the time referenced rumors that Lowe was leaving over a salary dispute. It said there were rumors that Lowe was disappointed that his $75,000/per episode rate wasn’t increased while Martin Sheen was making $300,000 per episode.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki discussed this week President Joe Biden finding a letter left by his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, while she was in the Oval Office with Biden.
As is tradition, Trump left a letter for the incoming president. Mediaite <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/jen-psaki-reveals-surprising-details-about-secret-letter-that-trump-left-for-biden/">referred</a> to the letter as &#8220;secret,&#8221; since Biden has not disclosed the letter&#8217;s contents, other than to say it was &#8220;generous.&#8221;
Joining actor Rob Lowe on his podcast &#8220;Literally! With Rob Lowe,&#8221; the press secretary revealed that she thought about not telling Biden about the letter Trump left for him but ultimately decided against it.
&#8220;I said, you know, I think you’re going to be asked about the letter that the former president left you,&#8221; Psaki <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/jen-psaki-reveals-surprising-details-about-secret-letter-that-trump-left-for-biden/">recalled</a> speaking to Biden. &#8220;And he said, &#8216;Oh, did he leave me a letter?&#8217;
&#8220;And I was like, am I telling him he was left a letter?&#8221; the press secretary questioned. &#8220;I don’t know, okay? So I said, &#8216;I think so. I think, I think that’s what happened.'&#8221;
&#8220;[Biden] kind of looked around for the letter and read the letter while I was sitting there, which was just kind of a remarkable moment,&#8221; she said. &#8220;He didn’t read aloud. He read it to himself. And he is such a classy guy — whether people agree with his politics or not — that he didn’t even convey it to us in that moment of what the letter said, he kind of read the letter consumed it himself.&#8221;
Psaki revealed that the letter was &#8220;long&#8221; and the handwriting was &#8220;lovely.&#8221;
&#8220;It was very long of the script, from where I could see was very lovely,&#8221; she told Lowe. &#8220;But I don’t know what was in the letter. But yeah, that was one of my early memories.&#8221;
On January 20, Biden <a href="https://people.com/politics/president-joe-biden-initially-kept-donald-trump-letter-private/">told</a> the press he wanted to keep the contents of the letter private, but noted that it was &#8220;generous.&#8221;
&#8220;The president wrote a very generous letter,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Because it was private, I will not talk about it until I talk to him. But, uh, it was generous.&#8221;
Moreover, at the time, Psaki called the letter &#8220;gracious.&#8221;

Psaki Reveals Details About ‘Secret Letter’ Trump Left For Biden

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed last week that watching Aaron Sorkin&#8217;s &#8220;The West Wing&#8221; — a fictionalized TV series about Democratic politicians in Washington, D.C., fighting the &#8220;good fight&#8221; — is what ultimately dragged her back into politics 10 years ago.
Psaki&#8217;s comments were made during her appearance on Rob Lowe&#8217;s &#8220;Literally!&#8221; podcast. Lowe starred on &#8220;The West Wing&#8221; which ended in 2006. The comments were pretty revealing, as some in the past have accused the Biden White House, including Psaki, of copying plot lines from the TV show or uttering talking points so self-absorbed that they could only be ripped off &#8220;The West Wing.&#8221;
Psaki told Lowe — who played Deputy Communications Director Sam Seaborn on the show — that after leaving the Obama administration in 2011 she was working at a consulting firm and began &#8220;binge-watching&#8221; the show on a whim, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/psaki-binge-watching-west-wing-brought-back-politics">according</a> to Fox News. She credited it for bringing her back to politics:
<blockquote>&#8220;I&#8217;m working at this consulting firm and I started watching ‘The West Wing.’ And I don&#8217;t know what prompted me to watch it, but I watched, I binged, the entire thing,&#8221; Psaki said.
&#8220;In a crazy way, it really brought me back to come back to politics and I ended up coming back and doing the 2012 campaign, and traveling with then-President Obama on his reelection,&#8221; Psaki added. &#8220;So I was basically gone for like six months, and then I thought to myself, &#8216;I&#8217;ve got to go back, I&#8217;ve got to go back.'&#8221;</blockquote>
The parallels between President Joe Biden and &#8220;The West Wing&#8221; first began on the campaign trail, when the Biden team sent a fundraising email claiming that one of the characters on the show would have supported Biden in 2020. Shortly after that, Psaki compared budget negotiations to TV shows. &#8220;As President Joe Biden tries to save his $3.5 trillion overhaul plan, Press Secretary Jen Psaki describes the White House&#8217;s role in negotiations like TV show,&#8221; the Associated Press reported.
&#8220;Well, this is why we all came to Washington, it&#8217;s like a TV show,&#8221; Psaki responded to one reporter. When asked which TV show, Psaki responded, &#8220;Maybe the West Wing, if something good happens, maybe Veep if not,&#8221; referring to the comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Biden has also been accused of copying Bartlett&#8217;s TV promise to end cancer within a decade. Both the fake president and real president have made similar comments, referencing President John F. Kennedy&#8217;s pledge to land a man on the moon within a decade. Here&#8217;s how the U.K.&#8217;s Independent <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/biden-speech-west-wing-address-b1839379.html">covered his comments</a>, which he actually made on more than one occasion:

And it was suggested that on Wednesday Mr Biden struck a similar tone to Bartlet during his speech.
He said: “I can think of no more worthy investment. And I know of nothing that is more bipartisan.
“Let’s end cancer as we know it. It’s within our power.”</blockquote>
Regardless if the characters actually model themselves after specific characters from &#8220;The West Wing&#8221; or not, many have argued that Sorkin — the man behind the show as well as the TV show &#8220;The Newsroom&#8221; — has ruined politics, or at least the Democratic Party.

MEADS: Does Jen Psaki Actually Think She’s Playing A Character In Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The West Wing’?

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted on a recent podcast that a good portion of President Joe Biden&#8217;s marathon press conference was unplanned — and unscripted.
Psaki joined actor Rob Lowe on his podcast &#8220;Literally! With Rob Lowe&#8221; and the topic turned to Biden&#8217;s last <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/the-most-delusional-press-conference-i-have-ever-seen-kayleigh-mcenany-torches-biden-presser/">two-hour press conference</a> and just how much of that had been planned ahead of time.
&#8220;So I have a question for you. And this was the week where the president did his two-hour press conference. And now how did … That was a long press conference. Let’s face it, it was a long …&#8221; Lowe began, and Psaki pointed out that it had actually been &#8220;record-breaking&#8221; with regard to its duration.
&#8220;Record-breaking, and absolutely got into the thing where he was answering the same question five times. Was that planned? Was it on the fly or was it like, &#8216;You think this guy can’t talk in front of the country we&#8217;re putting him out there for two hours?'&#8221; Lowe asked. &#8220;What was the thinking behind it?&#8221;
&#8220;It was not planned. It was planned to be an hour,&#8221; Psaki replied, prompting Lowe to respond, &#8220;Oh, my God.&#8221;
&#8220;Right. It was going to be an hour,&#8221; Psaki continued, noting that staff had prepped Biden with a list of questions and notes about who to call on during the briefing, but that <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/he-lost-his-cool-jesse-watters-mocks-biden-press-conference-as-a-political-field-sobriety-test-that-he-failed/">he had just kept going</a>. &#8220;And, you know, I think in the moment, he just decided to take some more questions, and that went on for a record-breaking amount of time.&#8221;
&#8220;Were you pulling your hair out?&#8221; Lowe asked. &#8220;I mean, there is a moment where like, Look, let’s face it, it’s not – it’s not a knock on anybody. You just go declare victory and get off the field.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah. I mean, I’m a pretty chill person. I think people who work with me would say. But I think when some of the questions started to be off in &#8216;Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs&#8217; land there, I was thinking, Oh my, what? Where are we going here with this?&#8221; Psaki continued. &#8220;And that’s obviously not on the president.&#8221;
Psaki went on to note that the press conference had at times gotten repetitive, but that Biden had kept up with reporters.
&#8220;You know, it’s funny there’s been this is like a very Washington thing obsession with him doing a formal press conference, which is what happened the other night. But he also has taken questions multiple times a day since he started the presidency from the reporters,&#8221; Psaki added. &#8220;So in a funny way, it was a it was kind of people seeing what he does nearly every day, but in a less formal setting. But yes, there was a moment there where I was thinking, where is this going and where? What, who else is going to be called on in this room?&#8221;
&#8220;I watched it from the beginning at work,&#8221; Lowe concluded, saying that he had been on set shooting his show at the time. &#8220;I’m watching. I’m watching it in my trailer, and then I go — I literally went and put out five fires and saved three people and came back and the president was still talking.&#8221;
Psaki had previously addressed Biden&#8217;s impromptu expansion of the press conference during an interview with Fox News host and former White House press secretary Dana Perino.

‘Oh My, What?’: Jen Psaki Admits Biden Went Over Time — And Off Script — In Marathon Press Conference

Rob Lowe is celebrating 32 years of sobriety in May of 2022, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten what it felt like to hit rock bottom. 
The 57-year-old actor recently opened up to <a href="https://people.com/tv/rob-lowe-on-his-wild-journey-from-teen-idol-to-sober-family-man/">People</a>, reflecting on his journey through alcohol abuse and to the other side. The experience left him feeling grateful for where he’s been and where he landed.
“I&#8217;m happy I lived the life that I lived because I have no regrets, but I was super ready to coach Little League, carve pumpkins on Halloween, read books and serve hot lunch on Wednesdays,&#8221; the “Parks &amp; Rec” actor told People for their cover story. &#8220;I really, really loved every minute of it.&#8221;
&#8220;Up until I turned 26, I spent all my time investing in my career,&#8221; Lowe continued. &#8220;From 26 on, I&#8217;ve invested in me; my spirituality, my recovery, my marriage, my family. A lot of it has been, excuse me, f***ing hard. And no one has a perfect life&#8230; but I&#8217;m grateful for all of it.&#8221;
The actor started gaining recognition after appearing in “The Outsiders” in 1983. He became super famous after starring in the 1985 cult classic “St. Elmo’s Fire.”
The “About Last Night” alum admitted he didn’t handle the newfound fame well. &#8220;I became so identified with it — the wild, fun, rock and roll, quasi-debauched with the heart of gold [guy]: that&#8217;s my early twenties in a nutshell,&#8221; he said.
And while drinking and partying, Lowe recalls hitting rock bottom. When he was 26, Lowe got home after a night of partying to a message on his answering machine where his mother begged him to pick up because his grandfather had a heart attack. But the actor ignored her. 
&#8220;I remember going into the bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror and my thought process was, &#8216;You need to drink directly from this bottle of Cuervo Gold so you can go to sleep, so you can wake up, so you can deal with this,'&#8221; Lowe told People. 
&#8220;Out of all the things that had gone on in my life, that was the thing where finally I went, &#8216;This is no way to live,&#8217;” he continued. “I went to rehab 48 hours later.&#8221;
It was a dark time in his life but has ultimately led to the “Brothers &amp; Sisters” star feeling grateful for the little things.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve never been happier, personally or professionally [and] there&#8217;s not a day that goes by where I&#8217;m not thankful about it all,&#8221; the actor said. &#8220;I have gratitude and profound humility for the gifts that I&#8217;ve been given, and worked for, in this world.&#8221;
Lowe has been married to makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff since 1991 after meeting her on a blind date in 1983. The couple share two sons –  Matthew Edward Lowe and John Owen Lowe.
He’s still active in Hollywood, hosting two podcasts plus appearing in the “9-1-1” spinoff series, “9-1-1: Lonestar.” Lowe will also star in and executive produce the upcoming Netflix movie “Dog Gone.”

On this Memorial Day, celebrities from Chris Pratt to Rob Lowe to Mark Wahlberg have taken the opportunity to honor America&#8217;s fallen soldiers and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
In a lengthy Instagram message, Pratt recalled the many soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the service of this nation, noting that &#8220;they know pain and suffering that we never will.&#8221;
&#8220;America’s exceptional armed forces have altered the course of the world for the better. From the Union Army defeating slave owning confederates, to the Greatest Generation and her Allies vanquishing the Nazis or our special operators hunting down the perpetrators of 9/11. We count the names of each fallen soldier lest they be countless. They are the good guys. They run to the sound of gunfire. They know pain and suffering we never will,&#8221; Pratt said.
Pratt further added that Americans owe a debt of gratitude to those who gave their lives in service of this country and that our society becomes less &#8220;decent&#8221; if we fail to show that gratitude.
&#8220;They have given us the most free and decent society planet earth has ever seen. We run the risk of losing that decency when we fail to instill gratitude in the minds of our youth or the perspective of what it actually means to be free- should they never learn of the selfless sacrifice of our armed service members in the face of oppressive evil. So join me in showing support for our fallen,&#8221; he continued.
Pratt then scolded those who may wish to bemoan America in the comments, reminding them that they would be put in prison if they criticized the government in other countries.
&#8220;Take a quiet moment to really consider the sacrifice. And if you use the comments section on posts like this to b*tch and moan about America please understand there are countries in the world where criticizing your government will get you killed or imprisoned,&#8221; he concluded. &#8220;Criticism is a right and necessity in amending the flawed systems of man. So by all means, let your voice be heard. But never forget your right to free expression is paid for in blood. May God give their souls rest, and may they live in our memories this weekend and always.&#8221;
Actor Mark Wahlberg shared a photo of a service member planting flags over the graves of fallen servicemen. &#8220;Respect. Honor. Remember,&#8221; said Wahlberg.

Actor Rob Lowe celebrated his 31 years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol by giving thanks to those who helped him along the journey.
In an <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/COs6AjnleaG/">Instagram</a> post, the former &#8220;Wayne&#8217;s World&#8221; star shared a photo of himself biking on the beach with no shoes as he poured out his message of grace.
&#8220;Today I have 31 years drug and alcohol free,&#8221; wrote Lowe. &#8220;I want to give thanks to everyone walking this path with me, and welcome anyone thinking about joining us; the free and the happy. And a big hug to my family for putting up with me!!&#8221;

During a press conference last year, Lowe credited none other than Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler for helping him get sober.
&#8220;I’ve been sober for 30 years. When I first got sober, I thought, my life is sober. My fun is done, and I’m not going to be cool anymore,&#8221; <a href="https://ew.com/tv/2020/01/07/rob-lowe-steven-tyler-sobriety-911-lone-star/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">he said</a>. &#8220;I came home when I was probably sober two or three weeks and I got a call from Steven Tyler, who I did not know. He called to say ‘I heard you are in recovery and I just wanted to say hey, I’m thinking of you dude.’ If it’s good enough for f***ing Steven Tyler, it’s good enough for me.&#8221;
Though his political stance is murky, Rob Lowe has never conformed to Hollywood leftist norms by dismissing conservative ideas. The Hollowverse <a href="https://hollowverse.com/rob-lowe/">characterized him</a> as a liberal-leaning man that respects conservative views. For instance, he previously said, “Liberal politics is built on empathy. I think conservative politics, from my opinion, is built on logic.”
During the 2016 election, Rob Lowe voiced his support for the movie “13 Hours,” which chronicled the 2012 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.
“If you haven’t seen 13 Hours, it’s a perfect #MemorialDay movie. A reminder of everything we should never forget. Particularly in 2016,” he tweeted.
In June of last year, Lowe stunned Conan O&#8217;Brien when he revealed that Justice Clarence Thomas is a good friend of his.
According to Lowe, the two met when he was inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a few years ago, prompting their friendship.
“I do know him. I got inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a couple years ago. … It’s a very exclusive, very amazing society that provides scholarships for kids who come from terrible, terrible backgrounds,” Lowe said. “But they are the best and the brightest in their classes. And the people in it are pretty studly. He’s one of them. That’s how we met. They put the medal on me in the halls of the Supreme Court.”
“Wow. Okay,” O’Brien said.
Lowe described Thomas as a generous man who even provided some helpful career advice to his own son.
“The reason I bring it up is he’s one of those people who occupies such a perception in people’s minds and he’s like, ‘If you ever need anything, call my number. This is my cell phone,’” Lowe said. “And then my son Matthew was going to law school. So I had some ideas about clerking and things like that.”
“So I call this cell phone and he answers it. And you’re like, ‘Geeze. Shouldn’t there be, like, a vetting process?’ And 45 minutes he’s giving me advice on what my son should do vis-a-vis law school and clerking,” he continued.

Rob Lowe Celebrates 31 Years Of Sobriety: ‘I Want To Give Thanks’

Actor Rob Lowe stunned late-night host Conan O&#8217;Brien this week when he revealed his friendship with conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Speaking about his hosting gig on the FOX quiz show &#8220;Mental Samurai,&#8221; Lowe revealed that Clarence Thomas would be one of his guests and that the two have been rather friendly for a while.
&#8220;Are you guys really close?&#8221; O’Brien asked Lowe.
&#8220;See. Look at those eyes. That eye vein popped,” Lowe joked. “But he’s a guy people go, ‘You know him?'&#8221;
&#8220;Wait, you know him?&#8221; a seemingly surprised O&#8217;Brien responded, as reported by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/rob-lowe-conan-obrien-friendship-supreme-court-justice-clarence-thomas">Fox News</a>.
According to Lowe, the two met when he was inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a few years ago, prompting their friendship.
“I do know him. I got inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a couple years ago. &#8230; It’s a very exclusive, very amazing society that provides scholarships for kids who come from terrible, terrible backgrounds,” Lowe said. “But they are the best and the brightest in their classes. And the people in it are pretty studly. He’s one of them. That’s how we met. They put the medal on me in the halls of the Supreme Court.&#8221;
“Wow. Okay,” O’Brien said.
Lowe described Thomas as a generous man who even provided some helpful career advice to his own son.
&#8220;The reason I bring it up is he’s one of those people who occupies such a perception in people’s minds and he’s like, ‘If you ever need anything, call my number. This is my cell phone,’” Lowe said. &#8220;And then my son Matthew was going to law school. So I had some ideas about clerking and things like that.&#8221;
&#8220;So I call this cell phone and he answers it. And you’re like, &#8216;Geeze. Shouldn’t there be, like, a vetting process?&#8217; And 45 minutes he’s giving me advice on what my son should do vis-a-vis law school and clerking,&#8221; he continued.
Though his political stance is murky at best, Rob Lowe has never conformed to the Hollywood leftist dictates that seek to ostracize conservatives from all of public life by dismissing their ideas and leaders as subhumans unworthy of debate or quarter. The Hollowverse <a href="https://hollowverse.com/rob-lowe/">characterized him</a> as a liberal-leaning man that respects conservative views. For instance, he previously said, &#8220;Liberal politics is built on empathy. I think conservative politics, from my opinion, is built on logic.&#8221;
During the 2016 election, Rob Lowe voiced his support for the movie &#8220;13 Hours,&#8221; which chronicled the 2012 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.
