‘Pretty Little Liars’ Actor Announces ‘Devastating’ Loss Of 13-Year-Old Daughter

Actor Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter announced on Tuesday that their 13-year-old daughter Fiona has died.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family said in a statement shared with People. Lowe and his wife added that their daughter was “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the statement continued. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

Fiona, who was born in 2012, was the middle child of the family. Her older sister Mabel is 17 and the youngest, Nixie Barbara, is 10.

Chad Lowe is the younger brother of “The West Wing” actor Rob Lowe. He is also in the entertainment business, winning an Emmy Award for his supporting role as a young man living with HIV in the television series “Life Goes On.” He is also known for playing Byron Montgomery in “Pretty Little Liars” and Reed Pollock in “24,” plus had recurring roles in “ER” and “Melrose Place.”

The family lost their home during the Palisades Fire in January 2025. Lowe posted about revisiting their ruined property, where the three girls grew up, the following month. 

“Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home,” the actor wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”

The photo carousel included images of his wife and daughters surveying their ruined property.

Lowe also posted a tribute to Fiona on her 13th birthday last November. “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he captioned a photo of Fiona. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much.”
