The Atlanta Dream remained inside the locker room during the national anthem before their matchup against the Indiana Fever on Sunday night. The unpatriotic moment gained some traction online — but the diss to the flag was nothing new for the embattled league.
A video shows Fever players on the court for the anthem, while the Atlanta team is noticeably missing from the court. League standout Sophie Cunningham appeared to be the only player on Sunday to have her hand over her heart as the anthem played. Beloved guard Caitlin Clark stood beside Cunningham with her hands behind her back.

Over the past decade, players and entire teams have amped up their social justice activism, often targeting the anthem. The women on the Dream, which went on to lose to Indiana in overtime Sunday night, routinely stay in the locker room while the anthem plays.
And they&#8217;re not the only team to do so. The Connecticut Sun, for example, have also been staying off the court during the playing of the national anthem this season. During a July game, rookie Raegan Beers gained support online when she was the only Sun player who remained on the court while the anthem played, standing alone as her teammates headed toward the locker room.
The New York Liberty have also made it a habit to leave the court during the playing of the national anthem, and then return right after. Fans online have commented on the practice. One person <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/wnba/comments/1twz9ki/national_anthem_protocols/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">posted</a>, &#8220;I&#8217;m a Liberty [season ticket holder] and one thing I&#8217;ve always noticed is that the teams always leave the court during the U.S. anthem and come back immediately after. I&#8217;d never seen that happen in any previous sporting events Id attended, so I clocked it as interesting.&#8221; The person added that it seemed like the practice was the &#8220;WNBA way,&#8221; but then noticed some teams do stay on the court and stand for the anthem.
The practice has a history in the league, including highly publicized instances involving the Los Angeles Sparks in 2017 and the Seattle Storm and Liberty in 2020. In 2017, the Sparks stayed in the locker room during the national anthem before several WNBA Finals games, while the Storm and Liberty walked off the court before the anthem during the 2020 season opener.
Meanwhile, the league is catching heat for refusing to stand up for girls and women on the transgender issue. The league notably allows pro-trans activism from players, while it quickly distanced itself from Cunningham after she famously said males should not be allowed in female sports.
Cunningham called her position &#8220;common sense&#8221; and fair, a position that has received overwhelming public support. However, the WNBA has yet to come on board.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham&#8217;s comments defending women&#8217;s sports continued to reverberate across the WNBA on Sunday, as Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve appeared to protest the Fever star by wearing a &#8220;Trans Kids Belong&#8221; shirt during Minnesota&#8217;s 108-100 victory over Indiana.
Reeve&#8217;s shirt marked the latest public response to Cunningham, who has become one of the league&#8217;s most polarizing figures after saying biological males should not compete in girls&#8217; and women&#8217;s sports.
Before tipoff, Cunningham and Reeve met briefly at midcourt in what appeared to be a cordial conversation. Reeve later <a href="https://www.latimes.com/sports/sparks/story/2026-08-02/lynx-coach-wears-shirt-supporting-trans-kids-joining-protests">told reporters</a> the two discussed the responsibility that comes with having large public platforms but declined to elaborate on the specifics. &#8220;Both of us understand that we have platforms and we both talked about wanting to, more than anything, educate,&#8221; Reeve said after the game. &#8220;There are some things that we have in common, and maybe some things you differ on.&#8221;
The atmosphere inside Target Center reflected the controversy surrounding Cunningham&#8217;s remarks. She was loudly booed during player introductions and again nearly every time she touched the ball throughout the afternoon. Some fans inside the arena also wore shirts displaying the same &#8220;Trans Kids Belong&#8221; slogan as Reeve.
The tension spilled onto the court during the second quarter when Cunningham absorbed an elbow to the face while defending a Minnesota player. Despite appearing to take the contact, officials assessed Cunningham with a defensive foul instead. The ruling prompted confusion from the game&#8217;s broadcast crew and loud cheers from the home crowd after officials briefly reviewed the play and allowed the call to stand.

Outside the arena, supporters and opponents of Cunningham&#8217;s position staged competing demonstrations before the game.
Women&#8217;s sports advocates gathered wearing XX-XY Athletics apparel and carrying signs reading &#8220;Thank You Sophie,&#8221; &#8220;Pro-Women, Not Anti-Trans,&#8221; and &#8220;Trust the Science.&#8221; Nearby, pro-transgender activists assembled with signs supporting transgender athletes and used megaphones to challenge Cunningham&#8217;s supporters.
Video from the demonstrations showed heated verbal exchanges between the two groups, with security personnel intervening after at least one physical confrontation.

The demonstrations marked the third consecutive Fever road game to feature organized protests framed around Cunningham&#8217;s remarks. Similar rallies took place in Seattle and Portland after the Fever guard publicly stated that young female athletes &#8220;shouldn&#8217;t have to go against biological men.&#8221;
The Seattle demonstration ultimately resulted in disciplinary action from the WNBA after Storm minority owner Celeste Keaton <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sophie-cunningham-rips-wnba-team-co-owner-for-harassing-teens-girls-with-xx-xy-shirts?author=Amanda+Prestigiacomo&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Sophie+Cunningham+Rips+WNBA+Team+Co-Owner+For+Harassing+Teen+Girls+With+XX-XY+Shirts">confronted</a> two teenage girls wearing XX-XY Athletics shirts, cursing at them and leaving one in tears. The league later fined the Storm and suspended Keaton from attending the team&#8217;s next five home games.
Despite the backlash, Cunningham has repeatedly said she does not intend to back away from her position. &#8220;I&#8217;m here to play basketball, but I&#8217;m also here to be me,&#8221; Cunningham <a href="https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/49502120/sophie-cunningham-unconcerned-rallies-transgender-participation-women-sports-distraction-fever">said before</a> Friday&#8217;s game in Portland. &#8220;I&#8217;m not going to shadow that or hide or dim my light just because maybe people don&#8217;t agree with that.&#8221;
The controversy has increasingly overshadowed Indiana&#8217;s recent road trip, with organized protests, fan demonstrations and public responses from coaches and team officials following the Fever from city to city as Cunningham&#8217;s profile continues to grow off the court.

Protesters descended upon Madison, Wisconsin, on Wednesday after a video circulated on social media showing police as they shot and killed a black man who authorities say was armed with a knife and resisting arrest in the middle of a street.
On Wednesday evening and throughout the night, leftist protesters <a href="https://x.com/JTCestkowski/status/2080120130999095700">decried</a> &#8220;racist police.&#8221; Even mainstream Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Crowley <a href="https://x.com/DavidCCrowley/status/2080073675001282940">said</a> he was &#8220;horrified by the reports &#8230; about a man who was shot and killed in the street by police officers.&#8221;
The video and the official account from authorities of the deadly incident tell a different story, however, and suggest that some leftists are once again jumping to a racial narrative while ignoring the details around the shooting.
The graphic <a href="https://x.com/WISN12News/status/2080093956612767765">video footage</a>, which was captured by a bystander, begins as three Madison police officers wrestle a man in the street and try to detain him. A fourth officer jumped into the scuffle and drew her taser as an officer was heard yelling, &#8220;He&#8217;s got a knife, he&#8217;s got a knife!&#8221; as the suspect pulled out a fixed-blade knife and injured one of the officers during the scuffle, according to Madison Police Chief John Patterson in a <a href="https://www.wkow.com/news/crime/man-dies-after-madison-police-shooting-near-baldwin-and-williamson-streets/article_98f43f1f-cb53-435d-83c8-cbc82793f6cf.html">press briefing</a>.
The female officer then fired her taser at the suspect at least two times before he fell to the ground. The injured officer, who Patterson described as a veteran of the police force, drew his handgun and fired three shots after the suspect fell to the ground. The suspect, a black man believed to be in his 30s, later died at an area hospital after officers performed life-saving measures on him following the shooting.
Chief Patterson said that all four officers were placed on administrative leave as the department reviews the deadly shooting, but he added that the incident was inflamed because the suspect initially fled from officers and then pulled a knife on them during the arrest.
&#8220;When a knife is produced during officers&#8217; apprehension arrests, the overall situation is clearly elevated. It becomes incredibly dangerous, and it obviously increases risks for everyone there, for every officer, for the person as well,&#8221; Patterson said. &#8220;I think it severely narrows the scope of options and possible outcomes.&#8221;
&#8220;I&#8217;m grateful there were not more serious injuries inflicted to those officers,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But I again, convey my sympathies sincerely to [the victim&#8217;s] family.&#8221;
One other police officer was also injured in the incident, but authorities don&#8217;t believe the injury was caused by the suspect&#8217;s knife.
The suspect was pursued by officers after they received a call for a person who was allegedly looking at parked vehicles. When police found the man and attempted to talk to him, he fled on a bicycle and &#8220;traveled through some nearby backyards,&#8221; Patterson said. The suspect &#8220;either fell off or was taken off of the bicycle by officers&#8221; in the street before the officers grabbed him.
Just seconds after the shooting, anger erupted on Madison&#8217;s streets as a woman was heard on the video shouting at the police officers.
“I saw everything! You did not need to kill him!” the woman yelled.
The anger festered into the evening as protesters <a href="https://x.com/simonrl18/status/2080086435164483969">disrupted</a> a free outdoor concert put on by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. In another part of town, protesters <a href="https://x.com/SchulteLaura/status/2080056240252600567">chanted</a> &#8220;arrest that cop&#8221; as they stood next to a group of Madison police officers.
Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers suggested the protests were likely to continue in the coming days and <a href="https://x.com/GovEvers/status/2080124195657097643">said</a>, &#8220;There must be transparency and accountability&#8221; as investigations into the shooting move forward.
&#8220;We will continue to keep the loved ones and family of the individual who was killed in our hearts and prayers. His life mattered,&#8221; Evers <a href="https://x.com/GovEvers/status/2080124197087440939">added</a>. &#8220;As folks exercise their First Amendment rights tonight and in the days ahead, we urge them to do so peacefully and respectfully.&#8221;

A town in upstate New York voted to remove the LGBT &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag earlier this month, sparking outraged protests and an act of vandalism.
For the first time in the town&#8217;s history, Webster Town Supervisor Alex Scialdone on June 1 raised the gay flag at Town Hall and issued a &#8220;Pride Month&#8221; proclamation. After public comment from residents, Republicans elected to the town board voted to effectively remove the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag by adopting a policy that limits flags on town property to the U.S. and New York state flags. By June 5, the &#8220;Pride&#8221; flag was removed.
At the removal, protesters gathered outside Town Hall, and some LGBT activists screamed and yelled about the flag removal, which was captured on video taken by town supervisor candidate Kevin Lockhart. One woman wearing a rainbow sweater claimed she &#8220;nearly died five times in the last month,&#8221; supposedly over LGBT opposition. Another said &#8220;children will kill themselves for this.&#8221;
&#8220;We see, we hear, we will not live in fear,&#8221; was also chanted by protesters.

Days later, the American flag at Town Hall was moved to the bottom of the flagpole, and an LGBT flag was flown far above it. According to U.S. Flag Code, no other flag should be flown above the American flag when displayed together.
&#8220;I remain steadfast in my advocacy for the LGBT community; however, I do not condone any flag being placed above the American flag,&#8221; Scialdone <a href="https://www.rochesterfirst.com/webster/unauthorized-pride-flag-spotted-above-us-flag-at-webster-town-hall/">said</a> in a statement. &#8220;When Town personnel became aware of the unauthorized lowering of the American flag on Town Hall property, immediate action was taken to raise it back into place.”
It&#8217;s unclear if anyone has been held accountable for the unauthorized tampering. The Webster Police Department confirmed to The Daily Wire that an investigation into the matter was opened, but was recently closed. No other details were provided.
Lockhart, who&#8217;s running as the first independent candidate for Webster town supervisor, said he wants peace for all town residents and &#8220;will not hesitate to stand for the principles&#8221; important to Webster residents.
&#8220;As the town of Webster’s first independent candidate for town supervisor, I have spent countless hours listening to residents and hearing their concerns about preserving our town’s history, culture, and values,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire via email.
&#8220;As a Christian, I believe pride is a sin and that every person, myself included, is called to humility, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ. While I would rather avoid cultural and political conflicts over symbolic issues such as flag displays, I will not hesitate to stand for the principles I believe are important to our community,&#8221; Lockhart added. &#8220;Above all, my prayer is not for division but for reconciliation — that all people would come to know Jesus Christ, receive His gift of salvation, and experience the transforming power of His grace.&#8221;
Currently, the American flag is the only flag flying at Town Hall, and padlocks have been added to the flagpole.

Penfield, New York, another suburb of Rochester, garnered national attention last year too. <a href="https://www.penfield.edu/47280_2">School board members</a> representing Penfield Central School District alarmingly walked out on <a href="https://x.com/K_DeRosa_NY135/status/1889461199873446305">a packed house of parents</a> who were upset about an inappropriate book titled “The Rainbow Parade&#8221; by Emily Neilson that was on display at the elementary school library.
The book in question is about a young girl attending a pride parade with her lesbian parents. The illustrations show men in sexual BDSM gear holding hands, drag queens, and naked people.
Instead of taking on comments from concerned parents, the board’s president called a motion to adjourn and ended the meeting abruptly. Kimberly DeRosa, who attended the meeting, told The Daily Wire that it ended after “more than an hour of presentations celebrating &#8216;Black History Month&#8217; and the superintendent detailing the process of submitting objections to books in the school.”

Protesters staged a <a href="https://redstate.com/jenniferoo/2026/05/29/meet-the-group-behind-the-staged-homeless-encampments-in-front-of-nithya-raman-2m-silverlake-home-n2202828">satirical</a> demonstration outside far-Left Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman&#8217;s home this week, constructing a mock homeless encampment to highlight the city&#8217;s ongoing homeless problem. 
As seen in the viral videos circulating online, protesters erected tents, scattered trash and old tires, and even set up a barbecue in front of Raman’s multimillion-dollar home.
“This is happening all over the city and we brought it to her doorstep so she can see what other people are going through,” a masked man who said he helped organize the demonstration <a href="https://www.foxla.com/video/fmc-f9f4tav348s167c6">told</a> FOX 11. “We’re basically doing a parody ad for her.”

The man requested anonymity, citing concerns about potential backlash. He said he supports Republican Spencer Pratt in Tuesday&#8217;s primary but is not affiliated with his campaign.
In an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfQpp6gwscU">interview</a> with comedian Adam Conover, Raman said she was shocked to find a homeless encampment outside of her house and relieved that her two children did not witness the demonstration.
“This has gone far beyond what I was expecting the campaign to be about,&#8221; she said.
Raman, who represents Los Angeles City Council District 4 and serves as chair of the council&#8217;s Housing and Homelessness Committee, has made homelessness a central issue of her campaign. 
Her campaign <a href="https://www.nithyaforthecity.com/homelessness">promises</a> to cut the number of people living in encampments by half by the 2028 Olympic Games and to develop solutions to eliminate encampments altogether. 
“The most painful crisis facing Los Angeles right now is homelessness,” Raman <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DX9n9POuYyy/">said</a> in a campaign ad. “It’s the reason I first decided to run for office. My young children were seeing the crisis on the streets every day. It’s not okay for anyone to be sleeping on the sidewalk in the world’s richest country.”
Critics, however, say that Raman’s record on homelessness has fallen short of her rhetoric. She has <a href="https://cd4.lacity.gov/initiative/homelessness/">highlighted</a> efforts that helped take 500 people off the streets and into interim housing, which is only 0.7% of Los Angeles’s <a href="https://www.lahsa.org/news?article=1051-lahsa-releases-finalized-2025-homeless-count-results-after-hud-review">homeless population</a>. 
She has also faced criticism over more than <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/05/27/us-news/nithya-raman-abandons-4m-for-homeless-encampment-cleanup-during-run-for-la-mayor/">$4 million</a> in funding for homeless-related efforts that went unspent while campaigning for mayor.

The latest UC Berkeley-Los Angeles Times poll shows a tightly contested mayoral race, with incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass polling at 26%, Raman at 25%, and Pratt at 22% among likely voters. The primary is June 2. The top two finishers will advance to the general election if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote.

The Department of Justice has released a <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1436006/dl">report</a> documenting how the Biden administration weaponized the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act against pro-life Americans. More than 95% of its 882 pages are actual documentary evidence: emails and texts, memos, you name it. But even that does not tell the whole sordid story.
President Bill Clinton signed the FACE Act into law in May 1994. Attorney General Janet Reno told a Senate committee that it was needed to combat a nationwide campaign by pro-life activists to shut down abortion clinics through “blockades, sabotage … stalking … arson, bombings, and finally …murder.” One senator at that hearing accused pro-lifers of “terrorism.”xxxxx
Rahm Emanuel, Clinton’s political director in 1993, would later famously counsel not to let a crisis go to waste. The abortion zealots used the controversy over some activities to create a weapon they would aggressively use to target and suppress the entire pro-life movement. <a href="https://www.heritage.org/sites/default/files/2025-03/LM373_0.pdf">Here’s how they did it</a>.
The first version of the FACE Act, introduced by then-Rep. Charles Schumer (D-NY) in February 1993, focused specifically on what the bill’s title said, protecting access to abortion clinics. It prohibited physical obstruction of facilities with the intent of preventing individuals from obtaining “reproductive health services.” It allowed civil suits only by private plaintiffs who had been concretely affected by such obstruction and did not permit punitive damages.
The House Judiciary Committee, without holding any hearing, began the process of radicalizing the Schumer bill. Physically obstructing a building became intimidating or interfering with any person or class of persons who were obtaining or providing reproductive health services. The bill neither defined intimidation nor interference nor limited where, how, or when it may have occurred. It allowed civil suits not only by anyone “aggrieved” by this undefined activity, but by any attorney general (federal or state) who believed that a “group of persons” had been so aggrieved. Oh, and the House Judiciary Committee added punitive damages to the plaintiffs’ arsenal.
Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) introduced the FACE Act in the Senate in March 1993, merging into this radicalizing traffic. His version even had language that would specifically exclude pro-life pregnancy centers from the act’s coverage. As if allowing both private and public plaintiffs to sue over being “aggrieved” was not vague enough, the Kennedy bill would allow suits whenever the attorney general believed that a person or group “is being, has been, or may be” aggrieved by pro-life activities. Before you ask, no, the bill put no time limit on a past grievance nor did it provide any way of determining whether or how a group “may be” aggrieved.
The FACE Act that Clinton signed into law bore no resemblance to the bill Schumer had first introduced, but, then, that was the plan all along. Put something – anything – in the legislative hopper that could be morphed and twisted into a weapon that is so vague, and carries such draconian potential penalties, that it can be used to target and suppress ordinary pro-life expression and activities.
The new DOJ report documents that abortion radicals got exactly what they wanted, detailing several ways in which the Biden administration weaponized the FACE Act. These include biased enforcement, collaboration with pro-abortion groups to track and monitor pro-life activity, blatant anti-religious bias by prosecutors, treating peaceful pro-life activists much more harshly than violent pro-abortion activists, and even helping funnel money to pro-abortion groups.
Weaponizing the FACE Act happened by design, not by chance. And to top it all off, Congress did not have authority to enact it in 1993 and certainly lacks any authority to maintain it now. Reno testified back then that the FACE Act was “crucial to ensuring that women have an unobstructed opportunity to choose whether or not to have an abortion.” The so-called “right to abortion,” in fact, is by far the most frequently cited basis for Congress’s authority to enact the FACE Act. 
In 2022, however, the Supreme Court told us what we really knew all along, that the Constitution does not, and never did, confer any right to abortion. Congress has no authority to enforce a right that does not exist or to fashion weapons to suppress rights that do.
The FACE Act was an abuse of power when it was enacted, and the Justice Department has now documented the fruit of that poisonous tree. Congress should repeal this unconstitutional fraud.

A Senate Armed Services Committee hearing went sideways on Wednesday when an anti-war protester and Green Party candidate attempted to disrupt the proceedings, shouting, &#8220;No one wants to fight for Israel!&#8221;
The protester, identified as Brian McGinnis, a Marine Corps veteran and Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, had to be dragged from the hearing by Capitol Police — and when he grabbed onto a door to prevent them from removing him, Senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) jumped into action as well.

The initial confrontation showed McGinnis, wearing his Marine Corps dress uniform as he resisted, flailing and attempting to use his body weight against the officers who were trying to get him out of the room. When Capitol Police were finally able to get him to the door, he could be seen grabbing the door, wedging his arm between the door and the frame.
Sheehy, a retired Navy SEAL, assisted the officers in their efforts, pausing only briefly to help pry McGinnis&#8217;s hand from the door.

&#8220;No one wants to fight for Israel!&#8221; McGinnis shouted, apparently referencing Operation Epic Fury, the joint campaign with Israel against the Iranian regime.
Another protester could be heard shouting as Sheehy tried — with no luck — to pull McGinnis&#8217;s hand away from the door, claiming that Sheehy had broken the candidate&#8217;s hand: &#8220;A U.S. Senator just broke the hand of a Marine!&#8221;
Back on his feet, McGinnis complained that his hand was stuck, and several Capitol Police officers continued to attempt to free him from the door.
Sheehy responded to the incident in a post on X, saying, &#8220;Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.&#8221;
Capitol Police also released a statement following the altercation, telling <a href="https://dailymontanan.com/2026/03/04/montana-sen-sheehy-gets-in-altercation-with-anti-war-protester/">The Daily Montanan</a>, &#8220;This afternoon, an unruly man who started to illegally protest during a hearing, put everyone in a dangerous position by violently resisting and fighting our officer’s attempts to remove him from the room.&#8221;
The statement also said that McGinnis was treated for an unspecified injury — but that three of the Capitol Police officers also had to be treated for injuries as a result of his actions.
McGinnis faces three counts of  &#8220;resisting arrest and crowding, obstructing, and incommoding for the unlawful demonstration&#8221; as well as three counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
&#8220;Protests are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings. There are plenty of other spots on Capitol Grounds, outside, where demonstrations are allowed,&#8221; the statement added.

A professional protester known for harassing worshippers at Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s church in Washington, D.C., has emerged as a key figure in the disruption of Sunday’s service at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
William Kelly, a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DSWQf_PDVsE/?hl=en">self-described</a> combat veteran, was <a href="https://x.com/Rightanglenews/status/2013003075389124755?s=20">captured on video</a> storming into the sanctuary with a mob of other activists associated with Black Lives Matter and the Racial Justice Network. The demonstrators <a href="https://x.com/DennyBurk/status/2013060811669885235?s=20">chanted</a> “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” and screamed at congregants, labeling them &#8220;fake Christians&#8221; because one of the church’s pastors also serves as an ICE field director. Jonathan Parnell, lead pastor of the Southern Baptist church, called the protestors “shameful” and eventually chose to end the service after some of the children started crying. 
Kevin Ezell, head of the Southern Baptists’ mission board, said <a href="https://x.com/kevezell/status/2013000560388067721?s=20">on X</a> that he had spoken to Cities Church staff members who reported that “the kids in the worship service were terrified.” In a later post he added, “These intimidating tactics are not only illegal but cowardly. No cause justifies traumatizing families as they worship and desecrate a sacred space.”
Many on social media, including Deputy Undersecretary of War Justin Overbaugh, immediately <a href="https://x.com/JustinOverbaugh/status/2013011311584522411?s=20">identified</a> Kelly as the same man regularly posted outside Hegseth’s church in Washington. Joe Rigney, a founding pastor of Cities Church in St. Paul who also helped plant Christ Church in D.C., said Kelly and his fellow protestors have regularly disrupted their D.C. worship services for the past six months.
“They&#8217;ll play music or yell and scream and use bullhorns and loud sound amplification to try to prevent us from singing psalms and hearing the Word preached,” he told The Daily Wire. One member was transported to the hospital after a protester screaming into a bullhorn shattered his eardrum. Rigney said Kelly&#8217;s tactics have also included screaming obscenities at minors as families are entering the sanctuary, forcing a need for police escorts. &#8220;They&#8217;ve sought to disrupt Christian worship gatherings now in multiple places.&#8221; 
Kelly and his fellow activists are allegedly protesting an ICE agent fatally shooting Renee Good during a raid in Minneapolis earlier this month. But Rigney, who pastored Cities Church and lived in Minneapolis for seven years before he joined Christ Church, notes that he has no connection to Kelly’s ostensible reasons for harassing his new congregation, which Kelly has targeted for being “Christian nationalist.” Rigney believes the cause isn’t important to Kelly or his compatriots, who he accuses of being part of a network of paid activists who wait for an opportune opening to wreak havoc.
“I think Minneapolis, because of the George Floyd riots, the Black Lives Matter organizations were already sort of there but had just kind of been latent and inactive,” Rigney said. “And now there&#8217;s a new thing that has kind of triggered them … So I think that the same groups that were agitating about that then have found a kind of a new cause of the moment to allow them to protest.”
Rigney says he hopes the Trump administration will prosecute everyone involved in disrupting these church services to “send a message that that&#8217;s unacceptable.” And the Department of Justice has already announced that it is investigating the protest for violations of federal civil rights laws and the FACE Act, which protects religious worshippers from intimidation or obstruction based on ideological differences. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon called the protest “UnAmerican and outrageous.”
Local Minneapolis law enforcement does not look likely to act. The police department monitored the service but made no immediate arrests as demonstrators left the building after the service had been stopped. Police officials said they were working to balance respect for both free speech and the right of congregations to worship without disruption.
Asked how he responds to charges from Kelly and the other protestors that it is not Christian to support ICE’s work, Rigney, who published a<a href="https://a.co/d/hJFPLGd"> 2025 book</a> on the misuse of empathy, said he doubts they have much understanding of Christianity.
“I think that kind of rhetoric is an attempt to steer,” he said. “Particularly coming from people who likely aren&#8217;t Christians or at least aren&#8217;t Bible-believing Christians … It is an attempt to steer and sabotage Christians so that they won&#8217;t resist the lawlessness that the left is seeking to impose.”
Rigney believes the Christian response to such attacks is greater boldness. “In the book of Acts, you saw precisely this kind of lawlessness,” he said. “You had mobs, you had shouting false accusations. You had government officials encouraging it in the way that the Democrats are doing right now. And in that day, Christians gathered together, and they prayed for boldness.&#8221;
“That&#8217;s what Christians ought to meet this with.”

It was another totally normal Sunday in Portland — if your idea of normal involves spandex-clad lefty activists grapevining in front of a federal detention center.
Roughly two dozen self-described freedom fighters <a href="https://www.portlandmercury.com/photo-essay/2025/11/11/48117439/sweating-out-the-fascism-with-anti-ice-aerobics?utm_source=chatgpt.com">gathered outside the ICE facility</a> in the city’s South Waterfront earlier this week for what they called “Sweatin’ Out the Fascists.” Their chosen form of resistance? Aerobics.
Yes, the neon-leotard, Jane-Fonda-in-1983 kind.
The group, organized by a local gym called Fulcrum Fitness, claimed they were standing up for democracy and due process. Apparently, nothing says “down with authoritarianism” like synchronized lunges to Depeche Mode. Participants sported animal-print tights, leg warmers, and righteous indignation, all while doing their best to out-woo each other in time to new-wave beats from the 1980s. One instructor yelled, “It’s time to sweat out the fascists!” into a microphone — a sentence that surely made future historians put down their pens in despair.
In a city where past protests have involved tear gas and federal agents, this one had a different energy: part political statement, part flash-mob nostalgia trip, part very public cardio session. The organizers framed it as a “playful, creative” approach to dissent, as some demonstrators have been using absurd visuals to mock the Trump administration’s <a href="https://time.com/7321220/trump-portland-troops-antifa-deploy/">assessment</a> that a Portland ICE facility was “under siege from attack by Antifa” as exaggerated. Others might call it performance art for people who still own a VHS copy of Flashdance.
Halfway through the spectacle, ICE officers appeared on the roof with pepper-ball guns at the ready — a surreal juxtaposition of federal muscle and fluorescent spandex. Nearby campers got a few rounds of pepper balls for their trouble, while the aerobics crowd kept “vibing,” to use one participant’s word, apparently believing fascism could be burned off like extra calories.

The protest’s vibe of cheery absurdity fits into a local trend: previous anti-ICE events at the same facility have featured inflatable frogs, Latin dance classes, and crochet circles. It’s less Les Misérables and more Portlandia: The Resistance Edition.
One participant declared the goal was to show Portland isn’t “a war-torn city on fire” but a “fun-loving city” — because nothing says civic stability like mock-jogging in front of federal law enforcement. Another insisted that synchronized movement and community spirit were ways to “defy the fascist government.”
In the end, the protesters declared victory, having successfully demonstrated that revolution can, in fact, come in Day-Glo spandex and high-impact step routines. Whether ICE felt the burn remains unclear, but one thing’s certain: Portland has officially turned resistance into a workout plan.

WASHINGTON—Hundreds of protestors convened in DuPont Circle Saturday to denounce what they called President Donald Trump’s fascist takeover of Washington, D.C.
“What we see happening in front of us with a Trump fascist takeover of D.C. is launching to a whole other league of a Trump fascist takeover of society,” Sam Goldman, one of the event’s organizers, said at the opening rally.
These protestors are seething over Trump’s federalization of the metropolitan police and activation of the National Guard to quell the crime that the president has called “totally out of control.”
One of the rallying cries was against Trump’s use of law enforcement to remove homeless people from encampments in the streets, which the protest organizers have called a “Nazi Cleansing of The Homeless!”
When asked whether Trump had any reason to federalize the city’s police, one middle-aged man at the protest replied, “Abso-fu***ing-lutely not. Not a f***ing reason. The hypocrisy of it all.”
As the protest went on, an older gentleman sitting on a bench said a group that provides free meals to homeless people in DuPont Circle was forced to relocate across the street to accommodate the hundreds of demonstrators in the park. About a dozen homeless men and women gathered to receive meals there across the street from the protestors.

In the park, an elderly black woman rocked back and forth on a bench near the rally organizer’s stage. A group of young men sat as far from the noisy rally as they could, smoking joints or cigarettes.
DuPont Circle sits squarely on Connecticut Avenue, which runs right into the White House and falls on what is considered to be the “good side” of the nation’s capital. But it’s also where a well-known DOGE employee was recently beaten bloody by about 10 teenagers who wanted the staffer’s vehicle.
Despite events of that nature, the protestors who gathered over the weekend denied that D.C. had a crime problem.
As they gathered and began chanting, D.C. police officers assembled at the outskirts of the park on bicycles and in cruisers. Once the hundreds of protestors began filing down Connecticut Avenue towards the White House, the police ensured that none of the  First Amendment fighters were mowed down by the city’s notoriously bad drivers.

One of the protestors shouted in the fray that she hated the police, a consistent rallying cry heard throughout the day. Another rally goer humorously commented, “But these ones” — the police escorting the demonstrators towards the White House — “are alright: they’re protesting with us.”
Days before the protest, the D.C. Police Union, which represents roughly 90% of the capital’s officers, endorsed Trump’s move to crack down on crime in the city. The union said it agrees “that crime is spiraling out of control, and immediate action is necessary to restore public safety.”
As the protestors marched down the city streets with the police escorting them and protecting their First Amendment, one man commented that “The rule of law is gone at this point because anything Trump does is against the law and he doesn’t care.”
The protesters themselves did not always match the seriousness of their rhetoric. One protester brandished a baguette, while another held a poster of Princess Leia holding a sub sandwich instead of a gun.

Both of these rally goers had apparently adopted the weapon of 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn, a former Justice Department employee who slapped a federal agent across the chest with a sub sandwich while calling them “fascists” and yelling, “F*** you!”
In response to the video of the incident,  Jeanine Pirro, who oversees the federal court for the D.C. area, said, “We’re going to back the police to the hilt, so there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else.”
The protestors took a route in front of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and the Washington Monument, where a National Guard convoy was parked. The bicycle police had to restrain the protestors from accosting the guardsmen.
One woman, who lives in Warrenton, Virginia, and came into the city for the protest, said there was no crime problem in D.C. at all.
“I don’t live in D.C. — I live outside — but when I come in, I have never been frightened.
“There’s no emergency here,” the woman, who lives an hour outside D.C., told The Daily Wire. “It’s made up.”
Upon arriving at the White House fence, the protesters continued to shout and blow their whistles.

After the protest began to disband, this reporter went to find some water and had to step around a homeless man sleeping in front of a Peet’s Coffee across the street from the White House.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon was interrupted during an appearance at a conservative event on Wednesday by protestors blasting circus music and audio insults played over nearly a dozen Bluetooth speakers spread throughout the room.
The incident occurred during McMahon’s appearance at the 47th National Conservative Student Conference in Washington, D.C., hosted by Young America’s Foundation.
As McMahon attempted during a sit-down interview with YAF president and former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, McMahon was interrupted mid-sentence by loud audio of a man who, among other things, accused the secretary of being a “corrupt billionaire.”
In response, Walker quipped that “apparently, the [Chinese Communist Party]” didn’t like her remarks, and that “they’re cutting into our technology.”
The audience laughed, and Walker and McMahon attempted to move on. But the interruptions did not end there.
Later, a recording of a woman ranting about “fat geriatric[s]” elicited an audible gasp from the audience. Students began to whisper to one another as the interruptions, which threatened to drown out the secretary’s comments, continued seemingly at random and from different corners of the auditorium.
Nevertheless, Walker and McMahon plowed ahead with their scheduled discussion, speaking over the chaos as YAF staffers scrambled to find and confiscate the personal audio devices.
“This is so weird,” one attendee whispered.
Event organizers collected an estimated eight Bluetooth speakers found under tables and chairs.
“This afternoon, a joyless, sore-loser leftist sought to silence the 13th Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, during her fireside chat with YAF President Governor Scott Walker at our National Conservative Student Conference,” YAF spokesman Spencer Brown told The Daily Wire.
Brendon Poteet of the University of Missouri, Columbia, told The Daily Wire that, &#8220;The first time it happened, I thought it was just a silly little YAF thing … and then it kept on happening again, and then it happened at my table.”
“I was just sitting, second row, and we noticed the Secret Service Agent inching closer and closer towards us,” he added. “That&#8217;s when I was like, &#8216;this is kind of ominous.&#8217; And one of the people found a note attached to one of the speakers.&#8221;
The Post-it note the student says he found bears the Latin phrase “Vox clamantis,” which translates to “a voice crying out.”
