Delta Airlines is offering $30,000 payments to all passengers from Flight 4819 that crash-landed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday.
This one-time payment &#8220;has no strings attached and does not affect rights,&#8221; a Delta spokesperson said, per <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/delta-offering-30000-passengers-plane-crash-landed-toronto-rcna192918">NBC News</a>. If all 76 passengers opted to take the offer, the airline would be forking over close to $2.3 million.
The flight had departed from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. There were no fatalities, but 21 passengers were hospitalized with injuries. As of Thursday morning, all of the injured passengers had been released from medical care, Delta shared on its <a href="https://news.delta.com/">website</a>. 
“The Delta and Endeavor families are grateful that all those injured Monday have been released from the hospital, and we extend our thanks to everyone who provided care to them over the past few days,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement. “We will continue to connect one-on-one with customers, employees and loved ones as we move forward to make sure their needs are met with care.”
The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. Videos show snow present on the runway and there were wind gusts up to 40 mph. Several outlets noted that it appears the pilot did not perform a common “flare” maneuver, which involves pulling up the nose of the plane before touchdown to slow the aircraft and ensure a smoother landing.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is leading the crash investigation with assistance from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In an interview with “CBS Mornings” on Wednesday, Bastian said the plane’s crew “performed heroically.”
“The fact that they were able to evacuate that plane as expeditiously as they did under extreme conditions coupled with the fact that all 80 people walked off the plane with limited physical injuries was really a testament to the safety that’s embedded in the systems,” the airline exec noted.
The flight was operated by Endeavor Air, a regional carrier that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/airline-operating-delta-flight-that-flipped-bragged-about-man-free-flight-crews">promoted</a> its female-led crews and “unmanned” (or male-free) flights.

New video footage surfaced on Tuesday morning showing the moment a Delta Air Lines flight crashed on the tarmac of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
On Monday, the inbound CRJ-900 flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) flipped over after the right rear landing gear on the passenger plane appeared to give out as the aircraft touched down.
With the landing gear snapped off, the plane&#8217;s right wing hit the ground and was torn off, causing the plane to roll and turn upside down.

Twenty-one of the 80 people on board the regional jet — 76 passengers and four crew members — were transported to hospitals after the accident, nineteen of whom have since been released. The flight was operated by Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air.
“Our most pressing priority remains taking care of all customers and Endeavor crew members who were involved,” <a href="https://x.com/DeltaNewsHub/status/1891860188094742559">said</a> Delta CEO Ed Bastian. “We’ll do everything we can to support them and their families in the days ahead, and I know the hearts, thoughts and prayers of the entire Delta community are with them. We are grateful for all the first responders and medical teams who have been caring for them.”
Passenger Pete Koukov <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/world/canada/toronto-plane-crash-delta.html">told</a> The New York Times that nothing seemed off during the flight and that all the problems occurred the moment &#8220;the wheels hit the ground.&#8221;
“The next thing I know, we’re sideways,” he said. “I unbuckled pretty fast and kind of lowered myself to the floor, which was the ceiling. People were panicking.”
The plane had to contend with wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour and drifting snow upon landing, although there is no indication that weather factors were the cause of the accident.
The Federal Aviation Administration said that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates.

More than a dozen people were hurt on Monday when a Delta Air Lines flight crashed in Canada while landing during difficult weather conditions.
Eighteen of the 80 people on board — 76 passengers and four crew members — were injured when the CRJ-900 aircraft flipped over at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), the company said in a statement.
The incoming flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) was landing when it encountered &#8220;strong winds and drifting snow,&#8221; The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/world/canada/delta-toronto-plane-crash.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
At least one of the passengers who was injured was listed in critical condition.
“The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. “I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site.&#8221;
The flight was operated by Endeavor Air, which the company noted is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said in a statement that investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration were already en route to Toronto.

FlightRadar24, a flight tracking website, said that the plane that crashed was Delta flight 4819 from Minneapolis to Toronto. The plane was a CRJ-900.

Videos of the accident showed that the plane was lying upside down on the tarmac and that at least part of the plane had caught on fire during the crash.
Fire crews were on scene extinguishing the fire and some passengers were seen climbing out of the plane.
Lawrence Saindon, a superintendent for Peel Regional Paramedic Services, said that at least eight people were injured during the accident, including one who was in critical condition.

Delta Air Lines Flight Crashes In Canada

A U.S. service member and several defense contractors were killed when a flight that was contracted by the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/department-of-defense" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department of Defense</a> crashed on Thursday in Asia.
U.S. Indo-Pacific Command said that the crash happened in the Philippine Province of Maguindanao del Sur.
&#8220;The aircraft was providing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance support at the request of our Philippine allies,&#8221; INDOPACOM said in a statement. &#8220;The incident occurred during a routine mission in support of U.S.-Philippine security cooperation activities.&#8221;
&#8220;We can confirm no survivors of the crash,&#8221; the statement added. &#8220;There were four personnel on board, including one U.S. military service member and three defense contractors. The names of the crew are being withheld pending next of kin notification.&#8221;
The military said that an investigation has already been launched into the cause of the accident and that updates will be released as they become available.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said that the plane that crashed was a smaller aircraft.
Officials in the area were notified of the crash after receiving reports that residents saw &#8220;smoke coming from the plane and heard an explosion before the aircraft plummeted to the ground less than a kilometer (about half a mile) from a cluster of farmhouses,&#8221; the Associated Press reported.
The U.S. military has been deployed in the Philippines for decades to help the Philippine military combat Islamic terrorists who are members of ISIS.

A Japan Airlines plane collided with a parked <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/air-travel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Delta Air Lines</a> flight that was waiting to take off at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday, according to videos that circulated online.
Delta said that it had 142 passengers on board at the time of the accident, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/05/us/delta-japan-airlines-collision-seattle-airport.html">The New York Times</a>. The plane was scheduled to fly to Mexico and was waiting for &#8220;de-icing&#8221; treatment when it was hit.
“There are no reports of injuries for crew or customers on the flight, and we apologize for the experience and delay in travels,” Delta said.
Japan Airlines did not release a statement.
The incidents comes after more than 60 people were killed when a helicopter collided midair with a passenger jet in Washington, D.C., last week, which was followed up several days later by a small plane slamming into a residential area in Philadelphia, killing all on board and wounding many on the ground.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that the Japan Airlines flight had just landed after an eight hour flight from Tokyo.
One of the passengers on the flight, Jackie Patton, told the Times that she felt a “violent shaking in the plane and a really loud crunching sound” when the collision happened.
“It was obvious right away something was wrong,” Patton said. “It was very scary.”

Vance continued his answer by responding to the media coverage of Trump&#8217;s remarks in the wake of the tragedy in which 67 people were killed.
&#8220;By the way, it&#8217;s so funny to me. The media has picked up on this &#8212; not you, of course, Maria &#8212; but others have picked up on this. The president made very clear that he wasn&#8217;t blaming anybody, but he was being very explicit about the fact that DEI policies have led our air traffic controllers to be short-staffed. The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/01/29/us/plane-crash-washington-dc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed</a> that an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-suggests-airport-tower-understaffed-at-time-of-collision-had-been-for-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">internal preliminary report</a> from the Federal Aviation Administration (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/federal-aviation-administration-faa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FAA</a>) said that staffing at the tower at the time of the collision was &#8220;not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic.&#8221; Also mentioned by the newspaper was that the controller who was dealing with helicopters around the airport was also instructing planes that were landing and departing, tasks typically assigned to multiple people.
Earlier in the interview, Vance explained how he believed DEI policies of the Obama and Biden administrations &#8220;contributed&#8221; to the current situation.
&#8220;We have a massive shortage of air traffic controllers. And, in fact, there have been a number of lawsuits from people who would like to become air traffic controllers against the Obama and Biden administration who basically said, we were told not even to apply because of the color of our skin, because they were white people who wanted to be air traffic controllers, and under the DEI regime of the Biden administration, they weren&#8217;t welcome.&#8221;
Vance said that means the &#8220;we don&#8217;t have the best and the brightest sometimes in these positions&#8221; and &#8220;even more importantly than that, even when we do get really good people, they&#8217;re going to be way overstressed because they&#8217;re working long hours, because air traffic controllers are short-staffed.&#8221;
Hearkening back to his time in the Senate, Vance noted that he served on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.
&#8220;We knew for years that we had a shortage at air traffic control,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;Well, part of the reason why we had a shortage at air traffic control is because we were telling our air traffic controllers not to hire people because of the color of their skin. That is a scandal, and it is a scandal, thankfully, that has stopped under the leadership of President Trump. It&#8217;s why I&#8217;m actually optimistic about aviation safety, but it&#8217;s also why we have had way too many near misses and unfortunately a fatal crash just a couple days ago.&#8221;

The North Carolina native died along with Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Eaves, 39, and 28-year-old crew member Staff Sergeant Ryan O&#8217;Hara. Dozens of others in the American Airlines plane, including children, also tragically perished.

Rebecca began her career in the United States Army as a distinguished military graduate in ROTC at the University of North Carolina, and was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide. She achieved the rank of Captain, having twice served as a Platoon Leader and as a Company Executive Officer in the 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. With more than 450 hours of flight time, she earned certification as a pilot-in-command after extensive testing by the most senior and experienced pilots in her battalion.
Rebecca was a warrior and would not hesitate to defend her country in battle. But she was as graceful as she was fierce: in addition to her duties as an Army aviator, Rebecca was honored to serve as a White House Military Social Aide, volunteering to support the President and First Lady in hosting countless White House events, including ceremonies awarding the Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Rebecca cared about people, and she extended to individuals the same fearless defense she gave to this nation. She was proud of the difference she made as a certified Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Victim Advocate and hoped to continue her education so she could serve this country as a physician when her time with the Army ended. She once said, &#8220;My experiences with SHARP have reinforced my resolve to serve others with compassion, understanding, and the resources necessary for healing.&#8221;
Rebecca was many things. She was a daughter, sister, partner, and friend. She was a servant, a caregiver, an advocate. Most of all, she loved and was loved. Her life was short, but she made a difference in the lives of all who knew her. Our hearts break for the other families who have lost loved ones in this national tragedy and we mourn with them. Name Of Third Black Hawk Pilot Involved In American Airlines Crash Released By U.S. Army

A plane crashed into a neighborhood in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/philadelphia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philadelphia</a> on Friday night, leaving multiple homes on fire.
ABC 6 Action News reported that the plane was a &#8220;small plane,&#8221; although no specifics were given about the number of people on board or the type of aircraft.
The crash happened in an area in the north-eastern part of the city just shortly after 6 p.m.
The report said that the plane appeared to hit &#8220;several buildings and cars in the area&#8221; and that multiple casualties have been reported.

The <a href="https://x.com/FAANews/status/1885490090878607836" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Federal Aviation Administration</a> and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy posted on X shortly after news of the crash broke, providing details: &#8220;A Learjet 55 crashed around 6:30 p.m. after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. There were reportedly 6 people on board. The plane was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.&#8221;
Those killed included two doctors, one patient, one family member, and two pilots.

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> mocked a reporter on Thursday for asking an absurd question about him visiting the crash scene of the passenger jet that went down in the Potomac River this week.
The exchange happened after Trump signed an executive order in the Oval Office and was answering a few questions from reporters.
&#8220;Do you have a plan to go visit the site or meet with any of the first responders?&#8221; the reporter asked.
&#8220;I have a plan to visit, not the site, because you tell me, what&#8217;s the site?&#8221; Trump responded. &#8220;The water?&#8221;
&#8220;You want me to go swimming?&#8221; Trump asked.

The exchange came after Trump signed two executive orders on Thursday following the tragic plane and helicopter collision at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Trump’s first executive order appointed Chris Rochelau as deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. Rochelau will serve as the acting administrator since the administrator seat is currently vacant, the president’s staff secretary, Will Scharf, said at the signing.
The president’s second executive action is titled: “Immediate Assessment of Aviation Safety.” It orders the Secretary of Transportation and the FAA administrator to “review all hiring decisions and changes to safety protocols made during the prior 4 years, and to take such corrective action as necessary to achieve uncompromised aviation safety, including the replacement of any individuals who do not meet qualification standards.”
“This review shall include a systematic assessment of any deterioration in hiring standards and aviation safety standards and protocols during the Biden Administration,” the order notes.
Trump stressed to reporters on Thursday that though it is unclear what role DEI measures played in the tragic plane crash, it is extremely important to his administration that employees be chosen on merit and competency.
“We want the most competent people,” he said. “We don’t care what race they are. We want the most competent people, especially in those positions. You’re talking about extremely complex things, and if they don’t have a great brain, a great power of the brain, they’re not going to be very good at what they do, and bad things will happen.”

Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan broke down in tears over the tragic <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airplane-crash">plane crash</a> near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport involving an Army helicopter and American Airlines Flight 5342 on Wednesday night.
Speaking to <a href="https://x.com/MSNBC/status/1885067494538219837">reporters</a> outside the Skating Club of Boston, as an alumna member of the club, Kerrigan joined with fellow members and opened up about trying to process the loss following news that six of the victims &#8212; two teenage figure skaters, two coaches, and their mothers &#8212; who were killed in the plane crash, were from the Boston club, <a href="https://www.wcvb.com/article/nancy-kerrigan-skaters-washington-crash/63622801">WCVB</a> reported.
“Not sure how to process it,” Kerrigan said through the tears. “Which is why I’m here. I just wanted to be here and be part of our community.”

&#8220;I just feel for the athletes, the skaters and their families &#8230; anyone that was on that plane, not just the skaters, because it&#8217;s just such a tragic event and we&#8217;ve been through tragedies before as Americans, as people, and we are strong,&#8221; Kerrigan continued. “Even when it&#8217;s hard, you get back up. Even when you&#8217;re crying, hurt, pain, you get back up and move forward. It&#8217;s not easy. But that&#8217;s what we all have to do now together.”
U.S. Figure Skating announced that there were “several” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sports">athletes</a> and coaches aboard the passenger flight when it crashed into the Potomac River after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/airplane-crash">colliding</a> with the helicopter on Wednesday night, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-figure-skating-confirms-several-skaters-and-coaches-were-in-american-airlines-crash">reported</a>. The organization provided a <a href="https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/special-reports/dc-plane-crash/washington-dca-dc-reagan-national-airport-us-figure-skating-american-airlines/65-6b954cb8-4db9-4fa8-ad19-430829843262">statement</a> to news outlet WUSA9 on Thursday morning.
“U.S. Figure Skating can confirm that several members of our skating community were sadly aboard American Airlines Flight 5342, which collided with a helicopter yesterday evening in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/washington-d-c">Washington, D.C.,</a>” the statement read. “These athletes, coaches and family members were returning home from National Development Camp held in conjunction with the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas.”
On Thursday morning, D.C. Fire Chief John Donnelly said that rescue efforts were now switching to recovery efforts with no survivors expected in Wednesday night&#8217;s crash, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/authorities-believe-there-are-no-survivors-after-american-airlines-crash-with-army-helicopter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. He said first responders had already recovered the bodies of 27 of the 64 people onboard the passenger plane and one body from the Black Hawk helicopter.
“We wish we were gathering for different purposes today,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said at a press conference. “We will not rest until we have answers for the families and for the flying public. You should be assured that when you fly you are safe.”
