New York Democratic congressional candidate Mondaire Jones violated federal law by failing to properly disclose income earned from CNN appearances and work with leftist organizations, according to a complaint filed by a government watchdog on Monday. 
The <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2024/10/65db76_c1cb92fce1384c93aac7899e22bbadc1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complaint</a> alleges that Jones, who is challenging Republican Rep. Mike Lawler in New York’s 17th Congressional District, omitted several sources of earned income on his <a href="https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/public_disc/financial-pdfs/2024/10061463.pdf">most recent</a> financial disclosure that he included in an <a href="https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/public_disc/financial-pdfs/2023/10055401.pdf">original</a> financial disclosure covering a similar time period. This income included payments for CNN appearances as well as work with Democrat-aligned PAC Future Forward USA Action and Demand Justice, a left-wing group that wants to drastically change the Supreme Court. 
The complaint was filed with the House Committee on Ethics by the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a nonprofit organization that promotes transparency in politics. 
In his first financial disclosure from August 4, 2023, Jones noted that he had earned $34,022 as a CNN contributor, a $123,237 salary from Future Forward USA Action, $10,000 in consulting fees for Demand Justice, and $150 article payment from The Nation. His second financial disclosure from May 15, 2024, which was supposed to cover the period beginning January 1, 2023, left out his income from CNN, Future Forward, The Nation, and Demand Justice.
The only income Jones included was $12,000 from Mondaire Jones for Congress for 2024.
Jones also omitted from his second disclosure that he was a member of the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), something that was included in the August 2023 filing.
“Unfortunately, two facts indicate that this was an intentional omission,&#8221; the complaint from FACT says. &#8220;First, the majority of information he omitted was related to political organizations or organizations that have positions with which voters may disagree. Second, in August and September 2024, Jones’ campaign was contacted by a reporter on three separate occasions asking about the information missing from his 2024 filing. Jones not only failed to respond, but he has yet to correct his filings.” 
The complaint says that the discrepancies were likely “a strategic political calculation,” and that Jones, a former congressman, likely understood how financial disclosures work. FACT asked for the House Ethics Committee to launch an investigation and impose any appropriate sanctions. 
Jones did not respond to requests for comment on the discrepancies.

FACT executive director Kendra Arnold told The Daily Wire that the discrepancies were a “clear” instance of something the House should investigate. 
&#8220;It is imperative financial disclosures represent the facts, not what the candidate wants the public to know—they are not political documents,” she said. “Any ethics violation is problematic, but violations committed for advantage in electoral politics should have an increased sting to the American people. The financial disclosure laws are of utmost importance and cannot be manipulated or disregarded for political gain.&#8221;

She swallowed the pill on a Thursday night. She immediately regretted it.
Mackenna was five weeks pregnant when she took mifepristone, the first of two drugs used in a chemical abortion. By the next day, rather than Googling “abortion pill” as she had done earlier, she was searching for information on whether she could reverse the effects of the drug.
Fortunately, Mackenna found the Abortion Pill Rescue Network, which connected her with Chelsea, a nurse practitioner who runs a medical clinic in Castle Rock, Colorado. Chelsea contacted Mackenna that evening and saw her the next morning.
Chelsea told Mackenna about a progesterone treatment called “abortion pill reversal.” Progesterone is a natural hormone that has been safely used for decades to <a href="https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a623013.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">support pregnancies</a>, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3604830/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prevent miscarriage</a>, and <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3934502/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">forestall pre-term labor</a>. If taken within 72 hours after mifepristone, supplemental progesterone can <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30831017/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">halt the chemical abortion process</a>.
Many women like Mackenna <a href="https://pregnancyhelpnews.com/we-celebrate-each-of-these-children-aprn-marks-5k-lives-saved" target="_blank" rel="noopener">change their minds</a> after taking the first abortion drug. For these women, abortion pill reversal offers a second chance to save their babies’ lives.
Mackenna opted for the treatment, and it worked. “My beautiful daughter was born this summer,” Mackenna said. “I can’t imagine life without her.”
Yet, across the country, government officials are trying to deprive mothers of that choice. APR and the stories of women who regret their abortions threaten those officials’ pro-abortion agenda. So they are suppressing information and pushing laws that compel women to finish their abortions, even when the mother changes her mind.
In many states, the government is trying to make it illegal for pro-life healthcare providers and pregnancy care centers to offer or even speak about this life-saving progesterone treatment, simply because of the personal and political views of politicians.
It should go without saying that medical professionals seek to save lives. But when healthcare providers like Chelsea seek to save an unborn life, that’s enough to draw scrutiny from pro-abortion officials.

In <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/national-institute-family-and-life-advocates-v-clarkhttps:/adflegal.org/campaign/pregnancy-resource-centers?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vermont</a>, a law hinders the ability of pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise their services and robs women of options. And in <a href="https://adflegal.org/case/platkin-v-first-choice-womens-resource-centershttps:/adflegal.org/campaign/pregnancy-resource-centers?utm_source=dailywire&amp;utm_medium=oped" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a>, the attorney general has targeted a Christian pregnancy center network for its pro-life views and demanded that it identify its donors and produce up to 10 years of its confidential internal documents.
Government officials are actively seeking to undermine pregnancy centers and impede their efforts to serve their communities. It is baffling how anyone—regardless of one’s opinion on abortion—could oppose centers that do so much good.
Pregnancy centers provide material and emotional support to women facing unexpected pregnancies. For mothers who choose life, the centers provide items like diapers, car seats, and baby and maternity clothing—free of charge. Many centers also offer free pregnancy testing, counseling, parenting classes, and adoption referrals. Some have licensed medical staff and provide free medical services, including ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment, and abortion pill reversal.
These government officials say they’re “pro-choice.” But their actions force every regretful woman to follow the same path: to go through with her abortion. They’re robbing from women the freedom to change their minds and choose life for their unborn babies. ADF is standing up to their politically motivated attacks.
Women like Mackenna deserve to be empowered with information, options, and support, and that’s what pregnancy centers provide. These centers save lives and families, and they give vulnerable women the confidence to look toward the future with hope.
When Chelsea treated Mackenna in her clinic, she wrote the word “HOPE” on the ultrasound image of Mackenna’s unborn baby. By choosing abortion pill reversal under Chelsea’s loving and expert care, Mackenna saved her daughter’s life. Every woman, and child, deserves this same chance. And every healthcare professional and pregnancy center deserves the chance to fully support women and families without fear of government censorship, bullying, or harassment.

Rumors are swirling that ex-New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace three years ago, may run for mayor of New York City.
Cuomo has long told insiders he wouldn’t run for the position because he didn’t want to run against current NYC mayor Eric Adams, POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/09/26/cuomo-mayor-adams-indictment-00181288" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The two share a similar base of moderate, black Democrat voters.
But Adams was indicted this week, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nyc-democrat-mayor-eric-adams-charged-with-bribery-fraud-acting-as-foreign-agent" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, charged with bribery, fraud, and acting as a foreign agent. He faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
That indictment may have changed the game for Cuomo, who resigned in 2021 following allegations of sexual misconduct by nearly a dozen female staffers. But with Adams’s legal troubles, some insiders are suggesting Cuomo may run for mayor.
“I think he’s going to run,” Chris Coffey, a former adviser to ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Andrew Yang’s 2021 mayoral campaign, told POLITICO. “He was probably going to run no matter what, and a weakened, or out-of-the-race Eric Adams is a better bet for him.”
Cuomo also reached out to New York business and labor leaders last year to gauge interest in a potential mayoral run. But his spokesperson, Rich Azzopardi, says that’s not going to happen.
“Governor Cuomo has spent a lifetime in public service fighting and delivering for the people of New York — that said, the speculation is premature as Governor Cuomo believes Mayor Adams is entitled to due process,&#8221; Azzopardi told The Daily Wire.
But, POLITICO reported, Cuomo’s political team is trying to create an aura of inevitability, even after the ex-governor testified before Congress about his disastrous COVID policies, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andrew-cuomo-to-defend-nursing-home-covid-policy-as-congress-demands-accountability-for-13000-deaths" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Shortly before he testified, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released a report that found Cuomo “edited” a state report that minimized the deaths that occurred in New York nursing homes during the pandemic, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/andrew-cuomo-edited-report-that-minimized-covid-deaths-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“They [Cuomo and his then-staff] want to assert that that order is exactly the same as the federal CMS, which it is not,” Rep. Marc Molinaro <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/06/11/us-news/cuomo-grilled-by-house-panel-over-nys-covid-nursing-home-deaths-dont-see-a-lot-of-remorse/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “The state order says, ‘You shall take back individuals and you cannot deny them solely on the basis of COVID,’ which left them no option but to accept individuals that we knew would cause risk to the other patients.”

“Andrew Cuomo was attempting to shift blame for what was a clear directive,” Molinaro continued. “When they identified and knew that the order was causing great loss, they subsequently cooked the books to suggest that the numbers of those who died in nursing homes were much less than we knew.”
His handling of COVID is not the only baggage Cuomo would carry in a mayoral election. He ultimately resigned after multiple female staffers, including former adviser Lindsey Boylan, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woman-who-accused-andrew-cuomo-of-sexual-harassment-finally-details-allegations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> him of sexual harassment. Boylan claimed in 2021 that Cuomo sexually harassed her “for years” and that “many saw it, and watched” and that she “could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks.”
“Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman,” she continued. “I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.”
Boylan is now speaking out about a potential Cuomo mayor candidacy, saying, “There is no fight I will not take on if this monster thinks he can slime himself into power once again.”
“It already is retraumatuzing (sic),” she said in a post on X. “Frankly it never stopped being traumatizing legally because he never stops abusing. But he didn’t just abuse his women staffers. New Yorkers, Andrew Cuomo abused you too. He abused you with his constant lies, bullying, and self-promotion. For years.”

Former President Donald Trump sat down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Trump Tower in New York City on Friday, just one day after President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met with the European leader and announced an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-vows-to-send-billions-more-to-ukraine-after-zelensky-accused-of-election-interference" target="_blank" rel="noopener">additional $8 billion</a> in military assistance for Ukraine.
The meeting also comes days after Zelensky called Trump&#8217;s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), &#8220;too radical&#8221; and expressed doubt that Trump has a plan for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. The conflict is now in its 31st month as Russian and Ukrainian soldiers continue to fight over Ukraine&#8217;s southern and eastern territory.

Trump has promised to end the bloodbath in Ukraine if he becomes president. Before meeting with Zelensky, Trump told reporters, &#8220;We’re going to work very much with both parties to try and get this settled,&#8221; The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/international/4903365-zelensky-trump-ukraine-war/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“We have a very good relationship, and I also have a very good relationship, as you know, with President Putin. And I think if we win I think we’re going to get it resolved very quickly,” Trump added before Zelensky chimed in, saying, &#8220;I hope we have more good relations.&#8221;

Zelensky told <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-new-yorker-interview/volodymyr-zelensky-has-a-plan-for-ukraines-victory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New Yorker</a> earlier this week, &#8220;Trump doesn&#8217;t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how.&#8221;
&#8220;With this war, oftentimes, the deeper you look at it the less you understand,&#8221; Zelensky added. &#8220;I&#8217;ve seen many leaders who were convinced they knew how to end it tomorrow, and as they waded deeper into it, they realized it&#8217;s not that simple.&#8221;
The Ukrainian president also said Vance is &#8220;too radical,&#8221; arguing that the Republican vice presidential candidate&#8217;s message &#8220;seems to be that Ukraine must make a sacrifice.&#8221;

Trump <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-lashes-zelenskyy-after-ukraines-leader-questioned-claim/story?id=114115473" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> Zelensky at a campaign rally in North Carolina on Wednesday for &#8220;making little nasty aspersions&#8221; toward him. The former president also called Zelensky the &#8220;greatest salesman on Earth,&#8221; adding, &#8220;Those buildings are down. Those cities are gone. They&#8217;re gone. And we continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal.&#8221;
Some conservatives accused Zelensky of &#8220;election interference&#8221; after he appeared with Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) at a factory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania earlier this week. During their visit to the factory, Shapiro signed an artillery shell that was being shipped to Ukraine.
“The facility was in a politically contested battleground state, was led by a top political surrogate for Kamala Harris, and failed to include a single Republican because – on purpose – no Republicans were invited. The tour was clearly a partisan campaign event designed to help Democrats and is clearly election interference,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) wrote in a letter to Zelensky.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) made his first remarks in public on Thursday after the federal indictment against him was unsealed and law enforcement officials raided his home.
Adams, who faces decades behind bars if convicted, was charged in a sprawling corruption probe that alleged he acted as an official of a foreign power, accepted bribes, committed fraud, and conspired to commit all the crimes.
&#8220;I want to thank you for being here this morning, and I want to thank the supporters of all ethnic groups that are here, particularly the men and women of the clergy that&#8217;s here that have joined me here today,&#8221; he told a group of supporters at a press conference. &#8220;And we are not surprised. We expected this. This is not surprising to us at all. The actions that have unfolded over the last 10 months, the leaks, the commentary, the demonizing. This did not surprise us that we reached this day.&#8221;
He asked that New Yorkers wait to pass judgment until they have heard his side of the story.

And the 300,000 plus employees of our city government will continue to do their jobs, because this is what we do as New Yorkers.&#8221;
He said that it was an insult to the people of the city that people were claiming that he and his administration would be unable to do their jobs while the case moves forward.
&#8220;They are dedicated public servants, and I have been one of them for many years, and they are going to continue to do their job, moving the city forward every day,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It&#8217;s an unfortunate day and it&#8217;s a painful day.&#8221;

New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on multiple federal corruption charges in an indictment that was unsealed on Thursday.
Adams, whose residence was raided on Thursday morning, was indicted on one count of Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Federal Program Bribery, and to Receive Campaign Contributions By Foreign Nationals; one count of Wire Fraud; one count of Bribery, and two counts of Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National.
The indictment says that Adams began soliciting and accepting improper benefits as a public official dating back to 2014, including luxury international travel from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him.
Adams &#8220;not only accepted, but sought illegal campaign contributions to his 2021 mayoral campaign, as well as other things of value, from foreign nationals,&#8221; the indictment said.
Prosecutors said that those who had illegally donated to Adams&#8217; campaign sought to cash in on their investment and were rewarded with &#8220;favorable treatment.&#8221;

Adams &#8220;sought and accepted illegal campaign contributions in the form of &#8216;nominee&#8217; or &#8216;straw&#8217; contributions, meaning that the true contributors conveyed their money through nominal donors, who falsely certified they were contributing their own money,&#8221; the indictment said.
He allegedly compounded his corrupt gains by using them to defraud the city and steal from public funds.
&#8220;New York City has a matching funds program that matches small-dollar contributions from individual City residents with up to eight times their amount in public funds, to give New Yorkers a greater voice in elections,&#8221; the indictment said. &#8220;Adam&#8217;s campaigns applied for matching funds based on known straw donations, fraudulently obtaining as much as $2,000 in public funds for each illegal contribution.&#8221;
Adams sought and received improper benefits from some of the foreigners who were illegally funding his campaign, court documents alleged, including paying for numerous luxury travel benefits that totaled $100,000.
The mayor &#8220;and others working at his direction, repeatedly took steps to shield his solicitation and acceptance of these benefits from public scrutiny,&#8221; the indictment said. &#8220;Adams did not disclose the travel benefits he had obtained in annual financial disclosures he was required to file as a New York City employee. Sometimes, Adams agreed to pay a nominal fee to create the appearance of having paid for travel that was in fact heavily discounted. Other times, Adams created and instructed others to create fake paper trails, falsely suggesting that he had paid.&#8221;
One of the Turkish officials who gave to Adams told him in September 2021 that it was his turn to repay the illegal donations he received by &#8220;pressuring the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) to facilitate the opening of a new Turkish consular building &#8211; a 36-story skyscraper &#8211; without a fire inspection, in time for a high-profile visit by Turkey&#8217;s president.&#8221;
&#8220;At the time, the building would have failed an FDNY inspection,&#8221; the indictment said. &#8220;In exchange for free travel and other travel-related bribes in 2021 and 2022 arranged by the Turkish Official, Adams did as instructed. Because of Adams&#8217;s pressure on the FDNY, the FDNY official responsible for the FDNY&#8217;s assessment of the skyscraper&#8217;s fire safety was told that he would lose his job if he failed to acquiesce, and, after ADAMS intervened, the skyscraper opened as requested by the Turkish Official.&#8221;
If convicted on all charges, Adams faces up to 45 years in prison.

Federal officials have investigated several people in Adams&#8217;s orbit, including Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks and former NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban, who resigned from his post last week. Shortly thereafter, the FBI raided the home of Caban&#8217;s successor, interim Commissioner Thomas Donlon.
Adams said he would request an immediate trial so New Yorkers can &#8220;hear the truth&#8221; quickly and the city can get on with its business.
&#8220;I have been fighting injustice my entire life. That fight has continued as your mayor,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Despite our pleas, when the federal government did nothing as its broken immigration policies overloaded our shelter system with no relief, I put the people of New York before party and politics.&#8221;
&#8220;Now, if I am charged, many may say I should resign because I cannot manage the city while fighting the case,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;I can also understand how everyday New Yorkers will be concerned that I cannot do my job while I face accusation, but I have been facing these lies for months since I began to speak out for all of you and their investigation started, yet the city has continued to improve.&#8221;
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams is expected to announce the charges against Adams when the indictment is unsealed Thursday, according to the New York Post. Sources told the paper that Adams will turn himself in early next week.

A retired <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> judge, who was also a former prosecutor, allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday morning following a brief shootout with FBI agents trying to arrest him for bribery and corruption.
Sources <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/09/24/us-news/ex-nys-judge-prosecutor-apparently-kills-himself-as-fbi-arrives-to-arrest-him-on-corruption-rap/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the New York Post that Stewart Rosenwasser, 72, was the subject of an FBI investigation into bribery and corruption, and allegedly opened fire on federal agents when they approached his home in Orange County, New York. Sources <a href="https://abc7ny.com/post/retired-judge-stewart-rosenwasser-kills-campbell-hall-orange-county-home-fbi-arrive-arrest/15348982/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> ABC 7 that Rosenwasser pointed a gun at a federal agent, who then fired a shot.
Shortly after the shooting, Rosenwasser barricaded himself inside the home and allegedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 9:30 a.m., according to the Post’s law enforcement sources.
The FBI released a statement following the incident, saying the matter is under review.
&#8220;The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting that occurred [Tuesday] morning in Campbell Hall, NY,” the statement said, according to ABC 7. &#8220;The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI&#8217;s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide.&#8221;
Rossenwasser had been indicted by a federal grand jury on bribery charges, alleging that he had launched an investigation as a prosecutor in 2022 to help a longtime associate. That associate, Mout’z Soudani, had accused his sister and nephew of stealing about $2 million.

Rossenwasser allegedly pocketed $63,000 to rig the case against the nephew, the Post reported.
“Any progress iam [sic] anxious thanks,” Soudani, who was also named in the indictment, texted Rosenwasser on November 18, 2022, according to the 43-page indictment obtained by the Post.
“Waiting to talk to investigator,” Rosenwasser allegedly replied. “Should know something today.”
“Believe me. I’m putting maximum effort into this,” Rosenwasser also allegedly said. “We will utilize all available assets.”
On March 8, 2023, Rosenwasser charged Soudani’s family members with grand larceny for allegedly stealing the money. Arrest warrants were issued, and when the family members appeared in court, they asked Rosenwasser to recuse himself because of his previous representation of Soudani in the 1990s.
Rosenwasser denied their request.
In June 2023, however, the District Attorney’s office removed Rosenwasser from the case. By March 2024, the case against Soudani’s sister was dropped and the nephew pleaded guilty to grand larceny in exchanged for a reduced sentence, the Post reported.
The sister and nephew later filed a $22.5 million lawsuit claiming the case against them was tainted due to Rosenwasser’s involvement. The scandal exploded in July when the FBI raided Rosenwasser’s home. Rosenwasser was also forced to resign from the District Attorney’s office at that time.
Rosenwasser’s son, Jason, seemed to throw water on reports that his father committed suicide.
“The only thing I feel compelled to point out is that the local news headlines are reporting that my father fatally shot himself while also reporting in the same article that the FBI field office issued a statement calling it an agent-involved shooting,” he told the outlet.

President Joe Biden defended his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan in his final speech to the United Nations as president.
Biden addressed the United Nations for his final time as president on Tuesday as his administration has seen multiple international crises erupt. The president touted his record on international relations, specifically pointing to his decision to pull U.S. forces out of Afghanistan.
“When I came to office as president, Afghanistan had replaced Vietnam as America’s longest war,” Biden said, according to <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/the-right-decision-biden-defends-botched-afghanistan-withdrawal-in-final-speech-to-u-n/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Review</a>. “I was determined to end it, and I did. It was a hard decision but the right decision.”

U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan effectively turned the country over to the Taliban, who swept behind withdrawing U.S. forces to take the country over almost immediately. The withdrawal also saw the deaths of 13 U.S. service members who were killed in a terror attack on the Hamid Karzai International Airport.
“It was a decision accompanied by tragedy,” Biden said. “13 brave Americans lost their lives along with hundreds of Afghans in a suicide bomb. I think about those lost lives every day.”

Biden appeared to check the time while the bodies of the 13 soldiers killed were returned to the United States.
Along with the 13 soldiers killed, dozens of Afghans were killed in the attack carried out by an ISIS-K terrorist. The attacker had been <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/06/politics/kabul-airport-attacker-prison/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> from the Parwan prison at Bagram air base days before the attack after U.S. troops evacuated the base. Taliban militants took it over in the absence of American troops.
The U.S. left billions of dollars-worth of equipment behind in Afghanistan. Some of that equipment, almost entirely left to the Taliban, has begun to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/us-weapons-afghanistan-taliban-kashmir-rcna67134" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appear</a> in other conflicts.
The president in his UN speech called for a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and in the growing conflict against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“Full-scale war is not in anyone’s interest,” Biden said, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/09/24/bidens-final-un-address-00180685" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Politico</a>. “Diplomatic solution is still possible. It’s the only path.”
On the war between Russia and Ukraine, Biden reasserted his support for Ukraine.
“The good news is that Putin’s war has failed in its core aim. But we can not let up,” Biden said. “The world has another choice to make: Will we sustain or support? Or walk away and let a nation be destroyed. We can not grow weary. We can not look away.”

Weill Cornell Medicine is distancing itself from New York City&#8217;s former senior health advisor Jay Varma after the COVID czar was caught on tape discussing the &#8220;drug-fueled sex parties&#8221; he hosted while preaching COVID social-distancing practices.
The Daily Wire reviewed Varma&#8217;s public Cornell profiles on Monday, and discovered that the institution had scrubbed his name from the site. Archived webpages show that his <a href="https://pandemics.cornell.edu/people/jay-k-varma/">biography page</a> — which was <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240919145241/https://pandemics.cornell.edu/people/jay-k-varma/">online as recently as six days ago</a> — as well as his <a href="https://directory.weill.cornell.edu/person/profile/jav4003">contact information page</a>, have both been removed.
In response to an inquiry on the website changes, Weill Cornell Medicine confirmed to The Daily Wire that Varma is no longer affiliated with the institution.
&#8220;Jay Varma was a full-time employee from September 2021 to August 2023 after which he continued as an unpaid advisor,&#8221; a Weill Cornell Medicine spokeswoman told The Daily Wire. &#8220;We were not aware of the alleged unethical behavior that occurred prior to his employment with us, and he is no longer affiliated with our organization.&#8221;
&#8220;As an institution that was on the frontlines during the pandemic, we firmly upheld all safety regulations to protect public health,&#8221; the spokeswoman added.
Varma&#8217;s sex parties were first revealed by conservative podcaster Steven Crowder, who <a href="https://x.com/scrowder/status/1836737026281836727">released video</a> last week showing Varma discussing how he violated city rules that he was publicly pushing by privately hosting orgies and dance parties with his wife. Crowder says an undercover operative recorded the videos between July 27 and August 14 in New York.
&#8220;I had to be kind of sneaky about it … because I was running the entire COVID response in the city,&#8221; Varma says in one of the clips.
“We went to some, like, underground dance party … underneath a bank on Wall Street … We were all rolling, we’re all taking molly [MDMA] and everybody’s high. And I was so happy because I hadn’t done that in like a year and a half,” he shares in another clip.
“But I was looking around being like, ‘F–k, I wonder if anybody sees me, they’re gonna be pissed.’ Because this was not COVID-friendly,” he adds.
Varma did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Daily Wire. He has <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/dr-jay-varma-nyc-health-advisor-sex-parties-pandemic/">admitted</a> that what he said in the recordings was true, and that he takes responsibility &#8220;for not using the best judgment at the time.&#8221;
The New York City Council Common-Sense Caucus has called on the City Council to hold a hearing addressing Varma&#8217;s &#8220;blatant hypocrisy&#8221; and &#8220;recklessness.&#8221;
&#8220;The public deserves answers,&#8221; the caucus said in a letter published Sept. 20.

During the rally, chants of “USA, USA, USA” broke out after Trump announced that he’s going to win New York, which would be a first for a Republican since <a href="https://ballotpedia.org/Presidential_voting_trends_in_New_York">1984</a>, and vowed to “fix up our country.”
The former president was targeted in another apparent assassination attempt on Sunday when a 58-year-old man hid out for 12 hours near Trump’s golf course in Florida, allegedly to take a shot at him. Sunday’s assassination attempt came just two months after Trump was shot in the ear during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
During a town hall event on Tuesday, the former president talked about his economic policies and suggested that his “consequential” agenda could be the reason he’s been “shot at,” as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-only-consequential-presidents-get-shot-at">reported</a>.
Trump spoke with Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders in front of a large crowd in Flint, Michigan, and the former president said he has been saddened to see the decline of the automotive industry in the Detroit and Flint area — what was known as the car manufacturing capital of the world.
The Republican nominee said the U.S. needs to manufacture more vehicles in the country instead of in Mexico and China. He then promised the crowd of Michiganders that his administration would put a 200% tariff on vehicles manufactured outside of the U.S.

An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/illegal-immigration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">illegal immigrant</a> from the Dominican Republic entered the U.S. undeterred despite being already wanted for murder in his home country — only to horrifically stab to death a family of four, including two toddlers, in upstate New York, authorities said.
Police in Irondequoit, a Rochester suburb, said <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/criminal-illegal-charged-in-brutal-murder-of-family-including-2-and-4-year-old" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano</a> was arrested earlier this month. On August 31 at 5 a.m., authorities responded to a house fire and found that the family had been killed and the home set on fire.
Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters said that in 32 years on the job, he had never seen anyone commit such a heinous crime in the town.
The police said Soriano is 34 years old and was wanted in Dominican Republic for a 2019 murder; entered Puerto Rico illegally and obtained a fraudulent New York ID, then came to New York. They said they are also looking for another individual in relation to the deaths.
Despite being a black-skinned Hispanic illegal immigrant, Soriano was listed in the Monroe County Jail <a href="https://www.monroecounty.gov/files/inmate/census.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">roster with a race of white</a>.

Deputy Brendan Hurley, a spokesman for the Monroe County Sheriff, told The Daily Wire that the arresting police filled out the race report, and, “The New York State Division of Criminal Justice provides guidance on Racial Designations,” which say that “White” is “A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, North Africa, or the Middle East,” and “Black” is “A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.”
There is no flag for Hispanic status in the census, meaning Soriano appears indistinguishable from a white American in the demographic statistics.
Democrats have often been accused of manipulating statistics to undercount illegal immigrant crime and claim that “white supremacy domestic terrorism” is the biggest threat to the country. In one case, the FBI <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-satanist-pedophile-gang-is-torturing-kids-the-fbi-didnt-seem-to-care-unless-it-could-blame-white-supremacy">suggested</a> a Hispanic man who called a judge a “cracker” was a white supremacist.
Asked if there is an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detainer request on Soriano, he said, “There is a detainer on file. Per NYS case law, we can only enforce detainers signed by a judge.”
