President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> said Thursday that he would release a report on the recent mystery drone sightings reported in New Jersey and other states once he takes office. 
Trump made the comments as he met with Republican governors at Mar-a-Lago, prompting several to chime in with their own reports of drone sightings. Last month, the FBI, FAA, and Pentagon said they identified no threats among the 500 drone sightings they had investigated based on public tips.
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to give you a report on drones about one day into the administration because I think it&#8217;s ridiculous that they&#8217;re not telling you about what&#8217;s going on with the drones,” Trump said, noting that drones had been spotted over his property in Bedminster, New Jersey. “It’s not only with me, [Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin] was telling me today that in Virginia they have drones all over the place too and nobody is reporting it.”

Trump said he would issue a report on the drones “shortly” after his inauguration on January 20. 
“They don’t want to talk about it and nobody knows why,” Trump said. “That could be us sending drones, I hope that’s the case, us doing it and doing research and maybe they don’t want to talk about it from that standpoint. I hope it&#8217;s not an enemy, but we’re going to find out on the 21st.”
Referencing how much of the U.S. military and intelligence infrastructure is in Virginia, Gov. Glenn Youngkin said that drones had been flying over secure air space for the last two years. 
“For two years running we have had drone incursion over secure air space and we still don’t know why. And I think that’s absolutely unacceptable,” Youngkin said. “And I think President Trump and the new leadership coming in will work diligently to understand who’s behind this and what we do in order to stop the digital surveillance of all our secure infrastructure.”
Louisiana Republican Governor Jeff Landry said that his state had recently seen drones flying over its nuclear reactors but that the FAA had done nothing after they brought it to their attention.

Wyoming Republican Governor Mark Gordon added that he had also struggled to deal with drones being flown over critical infrastructure. 
“We have drones in Wyoming flying over our infrastructure as well,” he said. “And it&#8217;s incredibly frustrating that we not only have no way of knowing what it is, but nobody knows how to deal with them.”

Two Congressional New Jersey Democrats who are vying to succeed Democrat Governor Phil Murphy <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/laken-riley-act-roils-nj-governors-race-2-dems-skip-roll-the-more-someone-campaigns-less-vote?intcmp=tw_fnc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">did not vote</a> on the Laken Riley Act that passed this week in the House.
Reps. Mikie Sherrill of Essex and Josh Gottheimer of Bergen County were recorded as &#8220;not voting&#8221; on the bill, which would require illegal immigrants convicted of theft to be detained by municipal and state authorities.
“We’ve been very focused on border security; the Laken Riley Act makes it clear, if you’re committing crimes in America against people, it’s not going to be tolerated,” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) stated.
Every Republican voted for the bill; only 438 Democrats did the same.

From November heading into December of 2024, mysterious &#8220;car-sized&#8221; drone sightings became a major news story.
While there had been suspected drones at night in places across the United States, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a> in particular became a focal point due to a high concentration of reported sightings in the state.
Here are six things to know about the situation:
What is going on?
Sightings of suspected drones have been reported in the night skies near military sites, critical infrastructure, President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>&#8216;s <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/news/new-jersey/drones-new-jersey-trump-bedminster-golf-course-fbi-20241206.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">golf club</a> in Bedminster, New Jersey, and elsewhere.
Videos of suspected drones posted all over social media and a lack of convincing answers fueled concerns.
Stranger things
Following a briefing on the situation at New Jersey State Police HQ, New Jersey Republican Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia <a href="https://x.com/DawnFantasia_NJ/status/1866896860578717994" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> a few stunning details.
The &#8220;large&#8221; drones were said to be 6 feet in diameter, operated in a coordinated manner, and appeared to avoid &#8220;traditional methods&#8221; of detection by helicopters and radio frequencies, Fantasias said.
Shoot them down?
Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-congressman-sources-claim-mystery-drones-over-new-jersey-come-from-mothership-sent-by-iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> “qualified sources” told him drones were coming from an Iranian “mothership” off the coast, suggested one should be shot down and studied.
Trump also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/let-the-public-know-and-now-trump-speaks-out-on-mystery-drone-sightings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> the idea of blasting one of the suspected drones out of the air if the government did not open up about what it knows to the American public.
Feds investigate
The FBI <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2024/12/14/background-press-call-on-the-ongoing-response-to-reported-drone-sightings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> it has received thousands of tips, though most were not deemed worthy of further investigation, and officials stressed how there are roughly 1 million drones <a href="https://www.13newsnow.com/article/news/national/military-news/department-of-defense-says-drones-flying-near-restricted-air-spaces-are-not-theirs/291-65fa9eb3-57ab-4cae-a1ea-d86ccf63538d" target="_blank" rel="noopener">registered</a> in the United States.
Federal authorities have insisted they have no evidence to suggest the sightings pose a threat or have a &#8220;foreign nexus.&#8221; They also said many of the sightings are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dhs-fbi-release-statement-about-drone-sightings-in-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">believed</a> to be manned aircraft operating lawfully.
Advanced tech deployed
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sent New Jersey State Police a &#8220;drone-specific radar that also cues a highly capable EO/IR, or electro-optical infrared camera system,&#8221; a DHS official <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2024/12/14/background-press-call-on-the-ongoing-response-to-reported-drone-sightings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters.
&#8220;If the radar detects a drone, the camera will be able to identify and track it,&#8221; the official said, adding, &#8220;This is extremely helpful for drones without a standard radio frequency signal.&#8221;
Flight restrictions
One week before Christmas, the Federal Aviation Administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/faa-imposes-restrictions-on-drones-over-parts-of-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">implemented</a> a new round of temporary restrictions on drone activity over &#8220;critical&#8221; infrastructure in parts of New Jersey.
According to DHS, the decision was made &#8220;out of an abundance of caution.&#8221;

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/federal-aviation-administration-faa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Federal Aviation Administration</a> (FAA) announced on Thursday that it was instituting new restrictions on drone activity over parts of New Jersey.
The announcement comes as the federal government has botched responding to news reports about public sightings of late-night drones that have spooked some local residents and caused a wide range of theories to be floated online about what was happening.
The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement, “In coordination with the FAA and our critical infrastructure partners who requested temporary flight restrictions over their facilities, out of an abundance of caution, the FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions over some critical infrastructure facilities in New Jersey.”
The agency published 22 Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) prohibiting drone flights over critical New Jersey infrastructure.
The restrictions were imposed on drones operating from ground-level up to 400 feet above ground — the maximum height that civilians are supposed to fly their drones.

The restrictions ban drones from being flown over power stations and other infrastructure, CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/19/us/faa-restricts-drones-power-locations-new-jersey?Date=20241219&amp;Profile=CNN&amp;utm_content=1734633335&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The power stations include the Cedar Grove Switching Station, Athenia Switching Station, Hudson Switching Station, PSE&amp;G Kearny Switching Station, and Bayonne Switching Station.
The ban only applies to drones and no other types of aircraft.
Drone flight restrictions were implemented late last month over Trump&#8217;s golf course in Bedminster and Picatinny Arsenal — a U.S. military research facility.

“Local commanders are actively engaged to ensure there are appropriate detection and mitigation measures in place,” the statement added.

FAA Imposes Restrictions On Drones Over Parts Of New Jersey

President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> said Tuesday that there was “apparently” nothing “nefarious” about the mystery drones spotted throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S., saying his administration was watching the situation closely. 
Biden spoke to reporters at the White House about the drones, suggesting that some were being flown by hobbyists. His comments come as lawmakers and the public demand answers about sightings reported over New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and other states. 
“Nothing nefarious, apparently, but they&#8217;re checking it all out,&#8221; he said, <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/18/us-news/biden-insists-drones-pose-no-sense-of-danger-in-first-comments-on-mysterious-sightings/">according</a> to the New York Post. &#8220;We’re following it closely. So far, no sense of danger.”
“There’s a lot of drones authorized up there,” Biden added. “I think one started it and they all — everybody wanted to get in the deal.&#8221;
Biden’s comments came after Major General Pat Ryder <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-12-18/mysterious-drone-flights-have-no-pentagon-connection-us-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters that the drones were not part of a government test, as some have speculated. Ryder said there were many legitimate reasons for drones to be in the air. 
“Is it possible that some of those drones could be up to malign activity? It’s entirely possible, but the vast majority, that is not the case,” Ryder added, according to Bloomberg.

Federal authorities and the U.S. military released a detailed statement on Monday night saying that after an extensive investigation, the mysterious drone sightings that people have seen on the East Coast do not amount to anything nefarious, nor is there any threat to the public.
The statement comes from the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, FAA, and Department of Defense. It follows weeks of speculation and widespread news coverage of the sightings, many of which have occurred in New Jersey.

Federal law enforcement officials warned the public on Monday to not shine high-powered lasers at flying objects at night as the public increasingly looks for drone activity following recent media reporting.
FBI Newark and New Jersey State Police said that there has been &#8220;an increase in pilots of manned aircraft being hit in the eyes with lasers because people on the ground think they see an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).&#8221;
Authorities also said that there has been increased concerns about people firing weapons at what they believe are UAS but, in reality, are manned aircraft.
&#8220;There could be dangerous and possibly deadly consequences if manned aircraft are targeted mistakenly as UAS,&#8221; the statement said.
&#8220;To improve accuracy and prevent false sightings, a variety of tools and techniques can be used to assist with the visual identification of suspected UAS,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;Accurate identification is critical for maintaining safety and ensuring appropriate responses to UAS activity.&#8221;

The statement said federal, state, and local law enforcement officials were monitoring drone activity every night in the area in response to the drone sightings and that they would &#8220;track down operators acting illegally or with nefarious intent and using every available tool and piece of equipment to find the answers the public is seeking.&#8221;
Authorities encouraged the public to also use publicly available websites and apps that show live flight patterns, satellite movement, and more to hopefully avoid misidentifying objects.

Drone Fears Cause New Problem: People Shining Lasers At Manned Aircraft

There are, apparently, numerous strange drones flying around America, particularly the East Coast and military bases.
And we keep hearing from the government that it&#8217;s not a big deal.
They&#8217;re not sure what they are, they say. They&#8217;re not sure what to do about it, but it&#8217;s no big deal.
But here is my problem. 15 years ago, I might have believed the government was honest. I would have been more apt to think, “Hey, they know what they&#8217;re doing because no way in hell this government would allow, say, foreign drones or even domestic drones to simply hover around military facilities en masse for weeks on end. There&#8217;s no way they would do that.”
Then, Joe Biden became president and allowed a Chinese spy balloon to cross the entire continental United States without shooting it down. Only after he got called on it did he proceed to shoot down several balloons by using Hellfire missiles.
So, yes, I&#8217;m skeptical.

That doesn&#8217;t mean these are Chinese drones, Iranian drones, aliens, or anything similar. Perhaps it&#8217;s just people who are mistaking airplanes for drones. That&#8217;s quite possible.
But I don&#8217;t trust the members of our government to tell us the truth — even if they know the truth — because they have not in the past.
In a piece titled, “What We Know About Mysterious Drone Sightings,” CNN <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2024/12/15/us/drone-sightings-east-coast/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>:
<blockquote>Mysterious flying objects overhead. Concern and confusion. And calls for military intervention. This isn’t the plot of “War of the Worlds,” but rather the result of numerous possible drone sightings in recent weeks. The flying objects have been spotted over residential neighborhoods, restricted sites and critical infrastructure.</blockquote>
If they&#8217;re floating above residential sites, I tend to think these are probably simply domestic drones, people who are hobbyists or something of that sort. But when reports of large swarms of drones apparently flying near military bases in Virginia or New Jersey surface, I start to have some questions.
CNN continued:
<blockquote>Reported drone activity prompted at least one airport – New York’s Stewart International Airport – to temporarily close its runways for about an hour on Friday night. 
At around the same time, airspace above Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio was restricted because of drone activity while authorities monitored the situation, base spokesperson Bob Purtiman told CNN affiliate WHIO. …
“This has gone too far,” said New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Saturday, adding last month she “directed the New York State Intelligence Center to actively investigate drone sightings and coordinate with federal law enforcement to address this issue.” … 
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he’s asking the DHS to deploy special detection systems that use 360-degree technology to detect drones.</blockquote>
The reality is it&#8217;s actually quite difficult to track drones in the same way that a missile is tracked. This has been a problem in Israel, for example, where the Houthis have launched several drones.
The American government does not have a sufficient response to this as of yet. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said: 
<blockquote>There’s no question that people are seeing drones. And I want to assure the American public that we, in the federal government, have deployed additional resources, personnel, technology to assist the New Jersey State Police in addressing the drone sightings. … We know of no threat or nefarious activity. If we learn of any cause for concern, we will be transparent in our communication of it. </blockquote>
Some of those drone sightings are drones. Some are manned aircraft that are commonly mistaken for drones. Drone sightings apparently have been reported in at least six states: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, as well as Virginia.
But there are drones elsewhere. I know because I saw one on the southern border. When we filmed “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/invasion-on-the-southern-border" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Divided States of Biden</a>,” I was with Border Patrol. It was fairly early in the evening, and suddenly, I looked up and saw a drone. I asked Border Patrol what it was, and they told me it was a drone.
I said, “Well, I assume that that&#8217;s our drone from our side monitoring the border.” They said, “No, that is a drug cartel drone.”
There are foreign drones flying over American soil. That is a fact.
I asked Border Patrol why they didn&#8217;t just shoot down the drone, and they said they would need explicit permission from Mayorkas.
It is possible that people are attributing planes to drones or they are experiencing a camera error. Any of that is possible.
But I have very little trust in the federal government that they are doing the job that they were designated to do.
I do not believe members of the Biden administration when they say that they are giving the American people all of the information.

Whoopi Goldberg added to the already rampant conspiracy theories about recent drone sightings over the East Coast, suggesting that they would soon span the entire nation&#8217;s airspace in preparation for a large New Year&#8217;s Eve party.
Goldberg shared her take on Monday&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;The View&#8221; on ABC, following days of sightings that seem to have centered over northern New Jersey — and multiple accounts from local officials who say they can&#8217;t identify what they are or where they&#8217;ve come from.

&#8220;I think they know what it is,&#8221; Goldberg said, referencing the federal government. &#8220;I think they&#8217;re not going to be able to say it.&#8221;
She then pivoted to offer a different theory, adding, &#8220;We&#8217;re going to get a really hell of a big party for New Year&#8217;s Eve. It&#8217;s going to be like a dome over all 50 states of these drones.&#8221;
Her suggestion prompted laughs from around the table, and she continued, &#8220;Well, why not? Stranger things have happened.&#8221;
Goldberg&#8217;s comments come after a series of Biden administration officials have addressed the situation, all suggesting that they <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mayorkas-claims-americans-have-nothing-to-worry-about-over-drone-sightings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">do not know</a> for certain what people are seeing but nevertheless insisting that there is no risk to the general public.

&#8220;We’ve deployed personnel, technology, and if there is any reason for concern, if we identify any foreign involvement or criminal activity, we will communicate with the American public accordingly,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos. “Right now, we are not aware of any. If we become aware of any, we will communicate accordingly and take appropriate action.&#8221;
The White House Press Corps received a similar statement from retired Admiral <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-feds-cannot-corroborate-mysterious-drone-sightings-over-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Kirby</a>, who is currently serving as communications adviser for the National Security Council.

The Port Authority said a New York airport <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/14/us-news/mysterious-drones-shut-down-runways-of-ny-airport-causing-hochul-to-demand-feds-step-in-gone-too-far/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closed</a> runways on Friday night for about an hour following a report from the FAA about a &#8220;drone sighting,&#8221; according to The New York Post.
In a letter to Mayorkas, Schumer suggested &#8220;drone-specific radar like the ROBIN&#8221; given how there have been sightings near &#8220;vulnerable sites such as airports and critical infrastructure.&#8221;

The agency sent New Jersey State Police a &#8220;drone-specific radar that also cues a highly capable EO/IR, or electro-optical infrared camera system,&#8221; a DHS official <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2024/12/14/background-press-call-on-the-ongoing-response-to-reported-drone-sightings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> reporters in a call.
&#8220;If the radar detects a drone, the camera will be able to identify and track it,&#8221; the official said, adding, &#8220;This is extremely helpful for drones without a standard radio frequency signal.&#8221;
On Wednesday, New Jersey Republican Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia <a href="https://x.com/DawnFantasia_NJ/status/1866896860578717994" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> to X details from a briefing about the suspected drones that have been spotted over the past several weeks.
She said the &#8220;large&#8221; drones were 6 feet in diameter, operated in a coordinated manner, and appeared to avoid &#8220;traditional methods&#8221; of detection by helicopters and radio frequencies.
White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-feds-cannot-corroborate-mysterious-drone-sightings-over-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> last week that &#8220;sophisticated electronic detection technologies&#8221; had not been able to corroborate visual sightings.
&#8220;To the contrary,” Kirby added, &#8220;upon review of available imagery it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.&#8221;
New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, <a href="https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/statement-governor-kathy-hochul-43" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement on Sunday that her calls for &#8220;additional resources&#8221; to assist in solving the drone mystery had been answered.
&#8220;[O]ur federal partners are deploying a state-of-the-art drone detection system to New York State. This system will support state and federal law enforcement in their investigations,&#8221; she said.
Hochul, Kirby, and Mayorkas also called on Congress to pass legislation to boost the authorities and resources afforded to state and local law enforcement agencies to counter drones.
The <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/8610" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Counter-UAS Authority Security, Safety, and Reauthorization Act</a> will give states &#8220;the authority and resources required to respond to circumstances like we face today,&#8221; Hochul said.
In his post to X on Sunday, Schumer declared that he is &#8220;working to pass a bill in the Senate to give local law enforcement more tools for drone detection.&#8221;

Embattled Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who became only the second cabinet official in U.S. history to ever be impeached over his disastrous handling of the border crisis, claimed during an interview over the weekend that Americans had nothing to worry about when it came to recent reports of drones flying at night.
Mayorkas made the comments during a Sunday interview on ABC News&#8217; &#8220;This Week&#8221; with George Stephanopoulos when asked about recent drone sightings at night on the East Coast, in particular New Jersey.
&#8220;There&#8217;s no question that people are seeing drones,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And I want to assure the American public that we, in the federal government, have deployed additional resources, personnel, technology, to assist the New Jersey State Police in addressing the drone sightings.&#8221;
&#8220;Some of those drone sightings are, in fact, drones,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Some are manned aircraft that are commonly mistaken for drones. And we do see duplicative reporting. But there&#8217;s no question that drones are being sighted.&#8221;
He said that part of the reason that this is happening is because the Federal Aviation Administration changed rules around flying drones late last year allowing them to be flown at night.

Mayorkas Claims Americans Have Nothing To Worry About Over Drone Sightings

A little more than five weeks before he begins his second term in the White House, President-elect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> joined calls for more answers regarding what are being described as <a href="https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/2024/12/10/what-are-the-car-sized-drones-flying-over-new-jersey-pennsylvania/76859459007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;car-sized&#8221;</a> drones that have put Americans on edge.
&#8220;Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,&#8221; Trump said in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113647906240301335" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> to Truth Social on Friday. &#8220;Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT.&#8221;
Images of suspected drones have flooded social media over the past several days as sightings have been reported in the night skies over <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a> and elsewhere, including near military sites and President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/news/new-jersey/drones-new-jersey-trump-bedminster-golf-course-fbi-20241206.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">golf club</a> in Bedminster.
Federal authorities <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dhs-fbi-release-statement-about-drone-sightings-in-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">insist</a> they have no evidence of a threat to the public or national security. In fact, the FBI and Homeland Security Department said &#8220;electronic detection&#8221; have failed to corroborate any of the sightings.
&#8220;To the contrary, upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft, operating lawfully,&#8221; the two U.S. agencies emphasized in a joint statement released on Thursday.
One U.S. congressman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-congressman-sources-claim-mystery-drones-over-new-jersey-come-from-mothership-sent-by-iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> &#8220;qualified sources&#8221; told him drones were coming from an Iranian &#8220;mothership&#8221; off the East Coast, but the Pentagon claimed to have no proof of a foreign link and denied the sightings were of U.S. military drones.

Still, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/amateur-hour-gop-rep-calls-bs-on-pentagons-response-to-mystery-drones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawmakers</a> and <a href="https://x.com/HeyLukOverThere/status/1867613013588488417" target="_blank" rel="noopener">others</a> contended they do not believe the Department of Defense has been completely forthcoming. Yet more have flatly <a href="https://x.com/RepNicole/status/1867629808005657015" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disagreed</a> with assertions that the suspects drones do not pose a safety risk.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who has said the White House is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-feds-cannot-corroborate-mysterious-drone-sightings-over-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urging</a> Congress to &#8220;pass important legislation that will extend and expand existing counter-drone authorities,&#8221; appeared exasperated on Friday.

Some have questioned why the United States has not shot down one of the suspected drones for study. Kirby dismissed the idea as being premature and dangerous when pressed by anchor Martha MacCallum.
&#8220;We don&#8217;t have enough conclusions to take that kind of a policy action,&#8221; Kirby said. &#8220;But let&#8217;s just assume for a minute that we did, you&#8217;re not going to want to shoot something down where it can hit somebody&#8217;s house or hurt somebody.&#8221;
