The State Department designated four European radical leftist groups as terrorist organizations as part of the Trump administration’s crackdown on Antifa.
The organizations designated included “anti-American” and “anti-Christian” entities located in Germany, Italy, and Greece, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday. The designated groups have been accused of carrying out or threatening to carry out violent attacks, including bombings.
“Today, building on [President Donald Trump’s] historic commitment to uproot Antifa’s campaign of political violence, the Department of State is designating four Antifa groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists,” Rubio said. “The United States will continue using all available tools to protect our nation from these anti-American, anti-capitalist, and anti-Christian terrorist groups.”

One group <a href="https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2025/11/designations-of-antifa-ost-and-three-other-violent-antifa-groups/">labeled</a> as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the State Department included Antifa Ost (also known as Antifa East and Hammerbande), a “militant” group based in Germany. The group has been accused of attacking right-wing figures in Germany between 2018 and 2023, and in Budapest in February 2023. Hungary labeled the group a terrorist network in September 2025.
Another group receiving the designation was the Italy-based Informal Anarchist Federation/International Revolutionary Front (FAI/FRI). The State Department noted that the group has claimed responsibility for “threats of violence, bombs, and letter bombs against political and economic institutions, including a courthouse and other ‘capitalist institutions,’” since 2003.
Two Greek organizations, Armed Proletarian Justice and Revolutionary Class Self-Defense, were also designated as terrorist organizations. These groups were described as anti-capitalist and have been implicated in a number of bombings. The Revolutionary Class Self-Defense has taken responsibility for improvised explosive device attacks targeting the Greek Ministry of Labor (February 3, 2024) and the Hellenic Train offices (April 11, 2025), the State Department said.
Individuals belonging to organizations designated as terrorist organizations lose access to the American financial system and can’t access any property they have in the United States.
Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), who has been outspoken about the threat of leftist violence, praised the move from the Trump administration.
“I’m grateful to Secretary Rubio and the Trump Administration for working with me on this critical issue – holding these radical groups who enable, fund, and support political violence in the United States and across the world accountable,” Schmitt said. “Each of these groups are violent cells in this transnational operation. Designating them as FTO’s is an important step to dismantling this subversive network of far-left extremism.”
Last month, Schmitt held a hearing on leftist violence, which featured the testimony of Daily Wire host Michael Knowles.
In September, Trump signed an executive order declaring Antifa a terrorist organization and directed his administration to take steps against any illegal activities being carried out in its name.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio ripped into European officials on Wednesday for criticizing U.S. strikes against drug boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean.
Rubio hit back at critics of U.S. foreign policy regarding drug trafficking in the Western hemisphere while speaking to reporters at a G-7 gathering.
“I don&#8217;t think that the European Union gets to determine what international law is. What they certainly don&#8217;t get to determine is how the United States defends its national security,” <a href="https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/1988744278831472895">said</a> Rubio when asked about criticisms from some in the EU. “The United States is under attack from organized, criminal narcoterrorists in our hemisphere, and the president is responding in the defense of our country.”
The Secretary of State suggested that the United States’ European critics are hypocrites as they try to balance their desire for American aid and armaments to help Ukraine in its war against Russia with their more conservative attitudes regarding Latin American cartels and drug trafficking.
“I do find it interesting that all these countries want us to send and supply, for example, nuclear-capable Tomahawk missiles to defend Europe, but when the United States positions aircraft carriers in our hemisphere, where we live, somehow that&#8217;s a problem?” Rubio asked rhetorically.
“I would say that the United States and this president has made very clear his job is to protect the United States from threats against the United States, and that is what he is doing in this operation,” he said.
The U.S. military has stationed several aircraft carriers with a fleet of warships and other war machinery in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela and in the Pacific Ocean to cut off water smuggling routes used by drug cartels. The United States has destroyed roughly 20 boats and submarines so far that the administration has said were being used to smuggle drugs such as fentanyl and cocaine in the United States.
Some officials of U.S. allies have expressed concern at the killings, claiming that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/does-the-president-have-the-authority-to-strike-venezuelan-drug-boats">strikes</a> violate “international law” and should be stopped. The United Kingdom has <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/11/politics/uk-suspends-caribbean-intelligence-sharing-us">reportedly</a> stopped sharing intelligence with the United States related to drug trafficking in South America to avoid involvement in the strikes.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot was more explicit in his criticism. He told reporters at the G-7 summit in Canada that the U.S. “military operations in the Caribbean region … violate international law” and could destabilize the region, according to <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/11/12/g-7-rubio-drug-boats-venezuela/">The Washington Post</a>.

The State Department said Thursday that it had revoked the visas of over 80,000 people for reasons ranging from drunk driving to support for terrorism.
The announcement put the pace of visa revocation at more than double the total last year, the Trump administration said.

Around 16,000 had their visas revoked for driving under the influence, 12,000 for assault incidents, and 8,000 for theft. Other reasons cited for the revocations include supporting terrorism, visa overstay, or being an “actual terrorist.”
The Washington Examiner <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/foreign-policy/3876259/trump-administration-state-department-revoked-80000-nonimmigrant-visas/">first reported</a> on the visa revocation. State Department principal deputy spokesman Tommy Pigott told the outlet that the Trump administration “will not hesitate to revoke visas from foreigners who undermine our laws or threaten our national security.”
“Our message is clear: Entry to America is a privilege, not a right, and we will always put the safety and interests of the American people first,” he added.
In September, the State Department <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-revokes-visas-of-foreigners-who-celebrated-charlie-kirks-assassination">revoked</a> the visas of foreign nationals who made celebratory remarks about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Individuals from Argentina, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, and Paraguay all lost their status over remarks on Kirk’s killing.
In one instance, an Argentine national said that Kirk “devoted his entire life spreading racist, xenophobic, misogynistic rhetoric” and deserved to burn in hell.
“The United States has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans. The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk,” a State Department official said at the time.
In May, Rubio was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-promises-to-aggesively-target-students-tied-to-chinese-communist-party">directed</a> by Trump to start aggressively revoking the visas of Chinese students with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in “critical fields.” Rubio said the department would be increasing scrutiny for approving future applications from China and Hong Kong.

The U.S. military took out another drug smuggling boat in the Caribbean with a kinetic strike on Thursday, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced. 
The strike was the 17th publicly reported action the Trump administration has taken against a suspected drug-running boat. Most strikes have occurred in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, but some have targeted boats in the Eastern Pacific. 
“Today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization,” Hegseth said. “The vessel was trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean and was struck in international waters. No U.S. forces were harmed in the strike, and three male narco-terrorists — who were aboard the vessel — were killed.”
Hegseth posted a 20-second video of the strike, showing a boat sailing before it was blown up. He did not identify which Designated Terrorist Organization was targeted in the strike.

Hegseth said the strikes will continue until &#8220;narco-terrorists&#8221; stop &#8220;poisoning&#8221; Americans.
“To all narco-terrorists who threaten our homeland: if you want to stay alive, stop trafficking drugs. If you keep trafficking deadly drugs—we will kill you,” Hegseth said. 
At least 69 suspected drug traffickers <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-drug-cartels-hegseth-boat-strikes-fb83b0f02efd32d595a12aa4f6dc1864#">have</a> been killed in the Trump-authorized strikes. Three people across two targeted boats have survived. Two were repatriated to their home countries, where the Trump administration asked them to be prosecuted for drug trafficking. 
Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/5592319-us-military-drug-trafficking-strikes/">briefed</a> top congressional leaders on Wednesday about the strikes. Democratic leaders criticized the action, arguing that President Trump lacks the legal authority to authorize such military operations.
“The notion of kinetic strikes without actually interdicting and demonstrating to the American public that these are carrying drugs and [are] full of bad guys, I think, is a huge mistake and undermines the confidence in the administration’s actions,” said Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA).
Republicans have generally supported the strikes.
“They’ve got good legal justification for what they’re doing,” said Idaho GOP Senator Jim Risch, the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “The president really ought to be congratulated for saving the lives of young American people. He should be thanked by the many parents who won’t even know that they won’t have to bury kids prematurely. They’re doing good work. They’re doing it lawfully, and I encourage them to keep it up.”
The Trump administration says it plans to keep up the strikes and has given at least 13 bipartisan briefings on the action.

A global tax on shipping emissions won’t take effect after pressure from the Trump administration to abandon the climate activist-fueled proposal.  
The International Maritime Organization had been set to vote on Friday on adopting a global carbon tax aimed at pushing the shipping industry to stop using fossil fuels. But that vote did not happen after President Donald Trump on Thursday <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115385308751129485">called</a> for other countries to oppose the tax, saying that the United States would not “tolerate” or “adhere” to the measure. 
Instead, the International Maritime Organization, an agency of the United Nations that regulates shipping, moved Friday to postpone the vote on the tax for a year. 
“Now you have one year, you will continue to work on several aspects of these amendments,” <a href="https://apnews.com/article/shipping-climate-change-carbon-fee-a5f854e7028d08035689db50814a6519">said</a> Arsenio Dominguez, the secretary general of the International Maritime Organization. “You have one year to negotiate and talk and come to consensus.”
The decision was praised by Trump administration officials who spent the week fighting the proposal.

Last month, Secretary of State Marco Rubio pledged to revoke and deny visas to foreigners who celebrate Kirk&#8217;s killing. Delivering on the promise, the State Department shared the alarming statements of some of those immigrants who were stripped of legal status.

A Mexican national said that Kirk “died being a racist, he died being a misogynist,&#8221; adding that “there are people who deserve to die. There are people who would make the world better off dead.”
A Brazilian national charged that “Charlie Kirk was the reason for a Nazi rally where they marched in homage to him” and that Kirk “DIED TOO LATE.”
A German national wrote of Kirk&#8217;s death that “when fascists die, democrats don’t complain.”
A Paraguayan national said that “Charlie Kirk was a son of a b**** and he died by his own rules.”

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot at a Turning Point USA event last month while hosting one of his open <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-promises-to-block-visas-of-foreigners-who-cheer-charlie-kirks-death">debates</a> on the campus of Utah Valley University.
President Donald Trump honored Kirk by posthumously awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday, which would have been his 32nd birthday.
Rubio’s State Department has sought to review and revoke visas for foreigners engaged in anti-American activity, including foreigners who have expressed support for terror groups or who have close <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-promises-to-aggesively-target-students-tied-to-chinese-communist-party" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ties</a> to the Chinese Communist Party.

Trump Admin Revokes Visas Of Foreigners Who Celebrated Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

The daughter of a Christian pastor detained by the Chinese Communist Party alongside nearly two dozen church leaders is warning of a coming “wave” of Christian persecution in China, she told The Daily Wire. 
Last week, the Chinese government rounded up prominent pastor Mingri “Ezra” Jin and at least 22 other church leaders and locked them up in a detention center in Guangxi, a region in southern China. Jin and the others detained are connected to the Zion Church, one of the largest underground church networks in China.
Grace, Jin’s daughter, told The Daily Wire that she fears that these detentions are only the beginning of a nationwide crackdown on Christianity. 
The detained Christians were from all across the country, including cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, she said. All of the detained pastors have been taken to a central location in Beihai, Guangxi — approximately 1,200 miles south of Shanghai and 1,500 miles from Beijing. 
The pastors have been clothed in prison garb and handcuffed, according to Grace.
Their crime? They are accused of illegally disseminating information online. Grace believes additional charges could follow because government officials have been probing the church&#8217;s structure and finances. 
“This is definitely orchestrated by a high-up central government level” because “they were rounding up people from all across China, and they were all bringing them to one location,” she told The Daily Wire. 
“It was almost simultaneous, it was orderly, and it was orchestrated all together at the same time,” she added, noting that the government appeared to be tracking the pastors&#8217; movements in order to track them down and detain them. 
On Monday morning, Grace said her grandmother attempted to bring her father a Bible and his diabetes medicine, but authorities would not allow her or other family members to visit their detained loved ones. She also said her father and many others weren&#8217;t allowed to speak to a lawyer. 
”We don&#8217;t really know how they are doing,” Grace said. 
She added it was tough to see men who only wanted to spread God’s love treated like criminals. 
“The fact that these folks who are just generally always so gentle, so peaceful, so happy to serve others, are seen as this criminal, and treated as criminals, and put into these shameful prison garments, and put into handcuffs and shackles [doesn’t make sense],&#8221; Grace said.

Her father first became a Christian after the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre.
“When the country betrayed them in such a brutal way, it really was shocking, and they lost a sense of direction for my dad,” Grace said. “He then found the sense of purpose and direction in Christianity, and he turned to Christ, and he realized that was the firm foundation that he needed in order to build his life upon.”
After his conversion, Jin initially pastored one of the government-sanctioned churches approved by China, but he soon left after feeling his ministry was being held “hostage” to the whims of the government, Grace said. 
The government wanted Jin to use the pulpit to promote communism and the Chinese Communist Party. It prohibited discussions of fundamental Christian beliefs, including the second coming of Jesus, because officials declared that China was already a utopia. 
In 2017, Jin started Zion after years of theological training in the United States. By 2018, the government had cracked down on Zion by closing its physical location and freezing the church’s assets. 
Grace said that her father has been detained multiple times over the past few years, but never formally charged. Sometimes he has been taken to hotels and harassed, she said. This time, she believes the detention is more serious and they will face a lengthy prosecution. 
Jin’s detention last week captured the attention of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who called for him to be immediately released. 
“This crackdown further demonstrates how the CCP exercises hostility towards Christians who reject Party interference in their faith and choose to worship at unregistered house churches,” Rubio said. “We call on the CCP to immediately release the detained church leaders and to allow all people of faith, including members of house churches, to engage in religious activities without fear of retribution.”
Grace, who is an American, was grateful for Rubio’s swift condemnation and wants to spread awareness about her father’s detention. She said Rubio’s message had already been blocked in China. 
China, which is home to nearly 100 million Christians, is regularly ranked as one of the worst offenders when it comes to Christian persecution. WASHINGTON—The State Department fired a foreign service officer revealed to have had a romantic relationship with a Chinese citizen whose father was said to be looped in with the Chinese Communist Party.
During a hidden-camera encounter with an O’Keefe Media Group reporter, foreign service officer Daniel Choi mentioned the relationship several times, acknowledging that he was supposed to report information about her but did not.
“She could’ve been a spy, even,” Choi said. “I don’t know.”
“Her dad was either a provincial or a federal minister of education,” Choi said at one point regarding the woman he dated. “So he’s, like, straight-up Communist Party.”

State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in a Wednesday statement that the White House signed off on Choi’s firing after Secretary of State <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/see-it-photo-captures-what-was-on-the-note-rubio-handed-trump-ahead-of-peace-deal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marco Rubio</a> initiated the termination process.
“After Presidential review and approval, the State Department has officially terminated the employment of a foreign service officer who admitted to concealing a romantic relationship with a Chinese national with known ties to the Chinese Communist Party,” Pigott said.

“This termination is consistent with the executive order signed by President Trump affirming both his constitutional authority over our foreign policy and the State Department&#8217;s responsibility to carry out his directives. Under Secretary Rubio&#8217;s leadership, we will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any employee who is caught undermining our country&#8217;s national security,” he continued.
This is presumably the first termination as a result of Executive Order 14211, which says that those responsible for executing U.S. foreign policy are working “under the direction and authority of the president” and says employees could face “professional discipline” for not doing so, the department said on background.
Relations between<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senior-republican-senator-wants-to-boost-pressure-on-china-over-taiwan" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> China</a> and the United States have been a focal point for decades, and most recently, there have been concerns domestically about the CCP’s influence in American institutions, such as universities. Over the summer, a debate unfolded over visas for Chinese students in the United States amid trade talks with China.
Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to meet in South Korea at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation gathering toward the end of the month, according to<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/09/china-expands-rare-earth-export-restrictions-ahead-of-possible-trump-xi-meeting.html#:~:text=Bargaining%20leverages,U.S.%20at%20a%20later%20date." target="_blank" rel="noopener"> CNBC</a>.
The federal government announced in April that U.S. government employees in China cannot be in relationships with Chinese nationals, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/chinese-beijing-honeypot-spies-diplomat-agent-intelligence-c077ef57b0f7ae43dd0db41bea92238b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. The rule also applies to certain contractors and families of employees, the outlet added.
China has long been rumored to deploy “honeypot” traps in the United States. California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell <a href="https://www.axios.com/2020/12/08/china-spy-california-politicians" target="_blank" rel="noopener">infamously</a> came under fire for his relationship with alleged Chinese operative Christine Fang.
In 2023, the House Ethics Committee ultimately did not take further steps following an investigation, <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/4018047-house-ethics-concludes-swalwell-probe-into-link-to-chinese-spy-taking-no-action/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hill</a> reported at the time.
“The Committee has previously reviewed allegations of improper influence by foreign agents and in doing so, cautioned that Members should be conscious of the possibility that foreign governments may attempt to secure improper influence through gifts and other interactions,” committee Chairman Michael Guest and then-Rep. Susan Wild wrote in a letter to <a href="https://swalwell.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/swalwell-evo.house.gov/files/COE%20to%20swalwell.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Swalwell</a>. “We encourage you to contact the Office of House Security for any guidance on steps you can take to prevent or address such attempts.”

Trump was hosting a public event with several independent journalists when he was approached by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. After whispering something in Trump’s ear, Rubio then handed the president a handwritten note, which, based on photographs, appeared to say that a deal was “very close.” It then said, “Need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce the deal first.”

As part of the first phase, Hamas plans to release the 20 living hostages this weekend, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/egypt-gaza-talks-kushner-witkoff-israel-hamas-news-10-08-2025-ac80d3ed50ff2a9b4106ab5e13156651" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. Hamas is responsible for the bodies of 28 dead hostages, though it is unclear whether the terror group can locate and retrieve them. Once the Israeli cabinet approves the agreement, the terror group has 72 hours to return the hostages.
Israel’s military has 24 hours from the time the Israeli cabinet approves the deal to withdraw from the heart of Gaza to a predetermined boundary.
<h2 style="text-align: center;">SCOTUS Hears Colorado &#8220;Conversion Therapy&#8221; Case</h2>

Topline: The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments this week in a case addressing the legality of so-called “conversion therapy.” Historically, the term referred to counseling or treatment aimed at changing a person’s sexual orientation from gay to straight. However, leftist activists now use the label more broadly, applying it to efforts that encourage transgender individuals to accept their biological sex.
The case: The plaintiff, a Christian counselor named Kaley Chiles, is challenging a law in Colorado that’s been dubbed the “Minor Conversion Therapy Law.” It was passed in 2019 by a Democrat-controlled legislature, and it bans counseling that “attempts or purports to change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” 
The plaintiff: Chiles’ legal team, Alliance Defending Freedom, says Chiles is currently under investigation by the state of Colorado over this law, and they’ve stressed that minors are being deprived of her services. 
The state of Colorado argues that this is not a free speech issue, but rather a matter of regulating conduct and medical treatment—even if that “medical treatment” is only speech, like talk therapy. The law is then constitutional, according to state attorneys. Colorado says that talk therapy that doesn&#8217;t affirm the gender-confused is harmful to children, which the state bases on “experts” and the so-called medical consensus.
SCOTUS watch: The justices appear to be leaning in favor of the plaintiff, and not just the conservatives. Liberal Justice Elena Kagan seemed to side with Justice Samuel Alito when he said the Colorado law seemed like, quote, “blatant viewpoint discrimination.”
A ruling is expected next summer. And if the tea leaves are being read correctly, an overturning of this Colorado law could influence similar laws in dozens of other states.

Topline: Authorities have arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who they say intentionally sparked the fire that destroyed Pacific Palisades, California, back in January.
The suspect: Rinderknecht is an Uber driver who now lives in Melbourne, Florida. Officials from the Justice Department and the Los Angeles Police Department held a joint press conference on Wednesday to announce the arrest. According to officials, Rinderknecht started the Lachman Fire on New Year’s Day. The Lachman Fire eventually became the Palisades Fire after it was rekindled by severe winds a week later.
What happened: According to U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, Rinderknecht was in Pacific Palisades late on New Year’s Eve after working throughout the evening. He drove toward Skull Rock trailhead, got out of his car, and walked up a trail to a nearby hilltop, where he recorded videos and listened to a rap song. According to Essayli, the song was accompanied by a music video showing objects being set on fire.
In addition to that, Rinderknecht’s phone had images he created with ChatGPT of people fleeing from burning forests. Another ChatGPT search made around the time he called 911 to report the fire said, “Are you at fault if a fire is lit [sic] because of your cigarettes?”
Firefighters were able to suppress the fire shortly after, but it continued to burn underground until strong winds revived it a week later, starting the Palisades Fire.
The blaze eventually became one of the worst in California history. It killed 12 people and destroyed nearly 7,000 structures, resulting in $150 billion in damage. The rebuilding process has been long and difficult. As of last month, the city of Los Angeles had <a href="https://www.carriermanagement.com/news/2025/09/30/279930.htm">approved</a> just over 600 permits to rebuild out of about 1,500 applications.
The charges: Rinderknecht is only charged with destruction of property by means of fire. But prosecutors may add more charges to the indictment later. They accused him of lying to authorities, with Essayli stating that Rinderknecht provided false information to police about the fire when officers interviewed him on January 24. But Essayli made no mention of a charge on that in the indictment. As is, Rinderknecht faces up to 20 years in prison.

Trump was in the middle of a roundtable discussion about Antifa, the violent group agitating protests and riots in places like Portland, Oregon, when Rubio stepped in and briefly interrupted. Trump quickly informed those seated around the table that he might be needed shortly.

Trump did announce the deal a short time later, saying via his Truth Social platform, &#8220;BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!&#8221;

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also issued a statement immediately after the deal was reached.

The deal, according to a White House official with knowledge of the situation, &#8220;goes to the Israeli cabinet tomorrow. Once they vote yes, Israel has to withdraw to the line which should take under 24 hours. Then the 72 hour clock begins, and Hamas will try to go earlier if possible. Our assessment is that hostages will begin getting released on Monday.&#8221;

The Trump administration reflected on October 7, 2023, on Tuesday, acknowledging Hamas’ “brutal terrorist attack” on Israel and reaffirming that the United States is committed to “its unwavering support for Israel’s right to exist, to defend itself, and to ensure the safety of its people.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a <a href="https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2025/10/two-year-anniversary-of-october-7th-attack/">statement</a> on the anniversary of the attack, saying, “Today marks two years since the attacks of October 7, when Hamas murdered more than 1,200 innocent men, women, and children — including 46 Americans — in the most brutal terrorist attack in Israel’s history.”
“As the United States marks this tragic anniversary and honors the victims, we renew our resolve to prevent such evil from ever taking place again,” Rubio pledged.
Vice President JD Vance also remembered the massive terrorist attack on Israel, <a href="https://x.com/JDVance/status/1975544380435169422">posting</a> on X on Tuesday, “On this second anniversary of the terrible terrorist attacks of October 7, we remember all of the innocent people brutally murdered by Hamas. And we continue to work towards President Trump’s plan to bring the remaining hostages home and build a lasting peace for all.”
President Donald Trump is scheduled to <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/10/07/us-news/trump-to-host-edan-alexander-american-who-spent-584-days-in-hamas-captivity-at-white-house/">host</a> Eden Alexander, an American who was held hostage by Hamas for nearly 600 days, at the White House on Tuesday afternoon. Alexander was freed by Hamas in May and is believed to have been the last surviving American taken hostage by the terror group during its October 7, 2023, attack.
The second anniversary comes as President Donald Trump seeks to close out a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. Last Friday, Hamas <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hamas-says-it-will-release-all-hostages-but-does-not-agree-to-other-details-of-trumps-peace-plan">said</a> it would release the rest of the remaining hostages, but added that it wanted to continue negotiating Trump’s 20-point peace plan. In a statement on Friday, the terror group did not agree to disarm, a major point in the plan laid out by Trump. The group also did not address Trump’s offer to give terrorists amnesty to live in Gaza or the option to be given safe passage elsewhere if they lay down their weapons.

Trump remains optimistic that a peace deal will be secured between Israel and Hamas to bring an end to the two-year war. If the terrorists don’t agree to Trump’s plan, the president warned on Sunday that they would face “complete obliteration.” Trump initially gave Hamas a 6:00 p.m. ET deadline on Sunday to agree to the peace deal.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, America is leading the effort to secure the release of all hostages, end Hamas’s rule in Gaza, and advance a durable peace that ensures not only Israel’s security, but generational peace and prosperity for the region. The Secretary of State also addressed the “troubling surge in antisemitism” that has plagued the United States and other nations since the attack on Israel.
