Good Good is in a bad bad news cycle.
The golf company’s latest ad campaign, a collaboration with industry giant Callaway, featured a man tackling a woman to stop her from touching his driver. Here’s the <a href="https://x.com/MarkPavelich/status/2093174945094447318?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">full ad</a>, which was taken down and is now only available through recordings on social media.

The joke didn’t land with a lot of people, myself included. Apparently the ad was spoofing “Obsession,” the popular, violent horror movie, which I haven’t seen.
So what we have here is a viral video attempt that didn’t land, which is pretty par for the course on the internet these days. But instead of just panning the spot, people lost their minds. Good Good, a rising star in the golf space, has been dropped by nearly all of its major partners. Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary Golf Galaxy yanked all of Good Good’s clubs and merchandise from their shelves.
Did I miss the time machine back into the height of cancel culture idiocy?
Worst of all, Callaway, a $3 billion company that approved the ad, disavowed its partner and pledged a million dollars to support organizations working to prevent violence against women in an effort to make right with the woke mob.
Stunning and brave.
If you came away from that ad thinking that Good Good and Callaway were advocating for violence against women, you are an idiot. The woman tackled in the ad is Alexis Miestowski, a golfer and influencer who works for Good Good. She was acting in the skit, not a random act of violence.
The response is completely unprecedented. Remember the Snickers commercial where the elderly Betty White gets tackled?

As our friend Robby Starbuck points out, nobody accused Snickers or Mars of elder abuse or violence against women. Want to know why? Because that was 2010 and society hadn’t lost its mind yet. It was around the same time that Reebok was busting out a Super Bowl commercial with Terry Tate, the “Office Linebacker,” who leveled both women and men.

Yeah, there were zero complaints.
Good Good is a great company. It’s one of the things making golf fun for the next generation of golfers, and it was being brought into the golf establishment. It was collaborating on a new driver with Callaway. The collab has been canceled. It was about to sponsor a major PGA Tour event. Good Good withdrew. It was about to bring Big Break, the golf competition reality show, back to television on the Golf Channel. That premiere has now been scrapped.
Good Good is being thrown under the bus by everyone, certainly based on advice from corporate public relations professionals. These are the same professionals who told every company they needed to put up black squares in place of their logos to support riots during Black Lives Matter, wall-to-wall Pride Month promotion to celebrate transgenderism in June, and put newly-hired DEI stooges in charge of all company decisions.
Many think the worst of cancel-culture is behind us now, and I tend to agree. It’s on all of us to keep it there. So let’s not cancel a great company for telling a joke just because some of us didn’t get it.

The YouTube channel Good Good issued an apology over the weekend for a since-deleted viral video depicting a man pushing a woman to the ground as part of an ad for Callaway Golf.
“We posted a video to our channels that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand,” the <a href="https://x.com/goodgood_golf/status/2091243669055574303">statement</a> from Good Good said. “We have since taken that content down. And sincerely apologize. Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission moving forward.”
A Callaway spokesperson said in a <a href="https://golf.com/news/good-good-apologizes-controversial-callaway-golf-video/">statement</a> to Golf.com, “We are disappointed by the content that was posted, and are appreciative of Good Good for addressing this. We look forward to working together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf.”
Good Good is a popular YouTube golf channel with more than 2 million subscribers.
The ad was meant to promote a driver made in a collaboration between Good Good and Callaway Golf. One 15-second clip that’s gone viral shows Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark shoving member Alexis Miestowski to the ground. In the video, Clark stands over her and says: “Do not touch my new driver.”
Longer versions of the original are also being shared, with followers saying it was meant to be a horror movie-esque bit about becoming obsessed with the driver. 
In the full version, after Clark pushes Miestowski, the scene continues. 
“I don’t get the big deal. It’s just a new driver,” another golfer says, to which Clark yells, “Johnny, no! Don’t do it!”
Everyone in the golf group begs Johnny not to touch the driver as ominous horror-style music plays in the background. Johnny ignores them, then turns around with a menacing smile on his face and heads to the tee, pushing past the group to tee off, as they ask, “Johnny, are you OK?” Johnny then begins swinging wildly as the camera cuts to Clark, who concludes, “It’s over. He’s gone.” 
The ad ends with a text overlay that says, “Consider yourself warned,” which echoes the original caption text.
Put into context, skeptics are wondering if the ad is more a comment on the addictive nature of the driver and less some kind of statement on using physical force to keep women out of golf. But most agree it’s a bad look either way.
“Somebody watched ‘Obsession’ and destroyed Good Good,” one commenter <a href="https://x.com/Welike2throw/status/2091748988378665175">wrote</a>, referencing the hit horror movie of the summer. 
“It is just bad all around. Bad premise. Bad acting,” <a href="https://x.com/UWMoose/status/2091710815061873081">echoed</a> another.
“Oh it’s a horror movie all right,” a third commenter <a href="https://x.com/erobbins/status/2091752469407941081">wrote</a>.

Kai Trump, the golf star, Gen-Z internet personality, and eldest granddaughter of President Donald Trump, revealed her simple strategy to achieve a slim six-pack.
In an interview with Fox and Friends, she <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/health/kai-trump-reveals-diet-nutrition-secrets-created-six-pack-abs-post-surgery">attributed</a> her diet to the bulk of her progress: no gluten, no dairy, no sugar, but lots and lots of carbs and protein.
&#8220;I weigh 120 pounds and I probably eat around 150 grams of protein,&#8221; she said, adding that she also eats “a lot of sustainable carbs.”
Kai mentioned that she makes sure to get 40 grams of protein first thing in the morning through a shake or another reliable source “just so I have it in my system.”
&#8220;So, if I run or I&#8217;m doing something crazy, at least I had that. I got that protein in,&#8221; Kai declared.
Her favorite protein-packed dish is a humble ground beef bowl — Kai makes it with avocado, rice, and a dash of seasoning. She also downs some prosciutto with pesto when she craves a snack.
&#8220;I would be totally fine eating steak for the rest of my life, or just chicken and rice, which is weird to some people, but I like it,” Kai added.
For her workouts, Kai follows a traditional regimen that focuses on core exercises, squats, and some stair-climbing machine cardio. If she’s working towards a PGA tournament, she switches to a trainer-designed stretching routine.
Since Kai recently suffered from a wrist injury that put her out of the golf scene for seven months, she decided to focus more on her abs.
&#8220;I literally told [my friends], ‘I have seven months before I return to golf, we&#8217;re getting a six-pack,’&#8221; she said. &#8220;And I got a six-pack literally just by prioritizing the right foods and working out.&#8221;

Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson has been kicked out of his longtime California golf club after a female employee accused him of making inappropriate physical contact with her earlier this year.
Mickelson, 55, is no longer a member at The Farms Golf Club outside San Diego, where the three-time Masters champion has played and practiced for decades, according to <a href="https://www.golfdigest.com/story/phil-mickelson-inappropriate-contact-female-club-employee-the-farms">Golf Digest</a>.
The woman, who does not want to be identified, said the incident occurred this spring. She declined to speak with Golf Digest.
Sources familiar with the situation told Golf Digest that Mickelson approached the female employee inside the clubhouse and made nonconsensual, inappropriate physical contact. The employee rejected his advances and later reported the incident to a supervisor.
Club officials immediately began reviewing the accusation and launched an investigation. According to the report, investigators located Mickelson during his round, informed him of the accusation, and asked him to leave the property.
Mickelson, who has been away from professional golf since February while attending to a family medical issue, also declined to comment directly. His spokesperson provided a statement to the outlet.
&#8220;Any misunderstanding has been cleared up,&#8221; it said. &#8220;Phil continues to attend to a family health matter and is uncertain when he will be able to return to professional golf.&#8221;
The Farms Golf Club confirmed that Mickelson is &#8220;no longer a member.&#8221;
&#8220;The Farms Golf Club is committed to maintaining a golf club environment that is safe, respectful, and reflects the highest standards of conduct,&#8221; the club said in a statement.
The club added that it conducted an independent investigation, provided support to the employee, and took &#8220;decisive action.&#8221;

LIV Golf, the pro golf league backed by Saudi Arabia that was meant to rival the PGA Tour, is in limbo because the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund pulled financial backing after the 2026 season.
LIV was billed as the cool, modern, team-based, 54-hole golf league with a lot of cash from Saudi Arabia. At the time of its creation in 2021, it seemed too good to be true. Five years later, it&#8217;s on life support as tournaments have been postponed — and a scale-back effort is in place as the CEO tries to keep the business going for another year by looking for new investors.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O&#8217;Neil spoke publicly Tuesday at Trump National D.C. for the first time since the news broke that funding was going away. O&#8217;Neil kept his tone positive, saying he feels ready for the moment and is prepared to tackle the financial uncertainty behind his league.
&#8220;This moment for me &#8230; I understand uncertainty is difficult for some people, and I understand that not knowing what tomorrow brings can be a challenge,&#8221; O’Neil said. “This is 100 percent what I love to do, this moment. Everybody is meant for a certain thing in their life. I believe this is what I am meant for. I love this moment.&#8221;
The moment is intense, suddenly navigating without what seemed like an endless cash flow. O&#8217;Neil will have to restructure the business model for LIV, and that&#8217;s how the businessman is framing this next chapter — as a refresh, not a threat.
&#8220;First and foremost, we need to get the players settled, on board, and focusing on golf,&#8221; O’Neil said. &#8220;Secondly, we have to create a plan that&#8217;s a business plan, a business that works from a business standpoint, from a profit and loss standpoint, like every other business in the world, and we are well on our way to that.&#8221;
The league started with a lot of buzz after promising big checks and signing big names — including Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka, among other PGA stars.
But viewership didn&#8217;t match the energy. Per Awful Announcing, for the 17 telecasts on Fox last year, LIV Golf averaged just 338,000 viewers, compared to its PGA Tour competition that averaged 2.66 million.
Koepka is back with the PGA Tour, but DeChambeau remains with LIV through his contract that ends after the 2026 season. The golf and online personality said on Tuesday that he would focus on YouTube if LIV failed. The golf star was once involved in a lawsuit with the PGA and hinted that golf&#8217;s premier league might not welcome him back with open arms.
Other LIV stars, including Jon Rahm, don&#8217;t have expiring contracts. Rahm said the LIV CEO has a &#8220;lot of hard work to do&#8221; to find funding for the league&#8217;s future, per Golf.com.
The current season isn&#8217;t in complete shambles, although a tournament set for June in New Orleans has been postponed. The tour continues in the nation&#8217;s capital this weekend before heading internationally to Korea at the end of May.

It seems LIV Golf may be living on a prayer after reports claim Saudi Arabia&#8217;s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is considering pulling funding from the tour that lured the biggest names away from the PGA just over four years ago.
The Financial Times reported Wednesday that the PIF is &#8220;on the verge&#8221; of slashing financial support for the league, while other outlets suggested LIV could be facing &#8220;imminent closure.&#8221;
The fund has poured millions in LIV Golf to rival the PGA Tour, but <a href="https://www.wsj.com/sports/golf/liv-golf-saudi-funding-e7c19130?mod=Searchresults&amp;pos=2&amp;page=1">The Wall Street Journal</a> reported that financial support could end after the league struggled to attract a significant television audience in the United States.
Amid the dire reports, LIV Golf CEO Scott O&#8217;Neil told players and personnel Wednesday that the league is fully funded through the rest of the year and that reports of its imminent shutdown are &#8220;false,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.golfchannel.com/news/news/report-saudi-arabia-pif-on-the-verge-of-cutting-financial-support-for-liv-golf">Golf Channel.</a> O&#8217;Neil did not address funding beyond the 2026 season.
&#8220;Our season continues exactly as planned, uninterrupted and at full throttle,&#8221; O&#8217;Neil said.
The news comes as 50 players are teeing off for a LIV tournament outside Mexico City.
The potential timeline for any shutdown remains unclear, with The Journal reporting that Saudi officials are still weighing their decision. The outlet noted there is still a chance LIV could continue in some form depending on the outcome of those discussions.
The league&#8217;s undoing would be welcomed by some golf fans who have argued the rival tour has tarnished the game&#8217;s traditional reputation.
Since LIV&#8217;s launch, the league has faced government investigations, lawsuits, and other litigation, contributing to a lack of profitability on the world stage.
LIV lost nearly $600 million in 2024, according to The Journal, despite signing big names, including Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, and Phil Mickelson.
In 2o22, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan addressed the mass exodus of players from his league.
&#8220;The PGA Tour, an American institution, can’t compete with a foreign monarchy that is spending billions of dollars in an attempt to buy the game of golf,&#8221; Monahan said. &#8220;We welcome good, healthy competition. The LIV Saudi Golf League is not that. It’s an irrational threat.&#8221;
The tone shifted a year later when Monahan and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi Arabia’s PIF, appeared together to announce a framework agreement aimed at ending litigation and potentially reunifying the sport.
That effort ultimately stalled, leaving both tours operating independently, with the PGA now appearing to stand the test of time.

Prosecutors plan to issue a subpoena later this month to the Palm Beach, Florida, pharmacy used by Tiger Woods as they seek more information on the medications prescribed to the legendary golfer and whether they included any warnings about driving.
Prosecutors in Martin County, Florida, said in a court filing that they will issue a subpoena to Lewis Pharmacy on April 22 as they seek to find out if the drugs included a warning about “operating a motor vehicle while taking the prescription,” The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/04/08/sports/florida-prosecutors-subpoena-tiger-woods-for-all-medication-records-in-dui-case/">reported</a>. Two hydrocodone pills were found on Woods when he was arrested after crashing into a truck and trailer in South Florida in late March. He was subsequently charged with DUI and property damage.
The subpoena will seek records on Woods&#8217; medication from January 1 to March 27, the date of the crash. Prosecutors are seeking information on the “date and time prescription was filled, type of prescription, number of pills in each prescription, the dosage amount, and all special instructions,” according to the Post. The golfer&#8217;s defense team has 10 days to object to the subpoena.
A breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in Woods&#8217; system, but a deputy described him as “lethargic and slow,” with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and “extremely dilated” pupils, according to the arrest affidavit.
“So at this time, I do believe your normal faculties are impaired,” one of the deputies told Woods as she placed handcuffs on him, bodycam footage shows. “And you’re under the unknown substance, so at this time, you’re under arrest for DUI.”
Woods clipped the trailer of a truck as he attempted to pass it, flipping his SUV in a residential area in Jupiter, Florida. The golfing legend told deputies that he was distracted and had looked down at his phone before the crash. Woods also told deputies that he takes &#8220;a few&#8221; prescription medications.
Hydrocodone, which is typically taken to treat severe pain, is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance by the U.S. government. The drug is considered to be among “some of the most addictive and potentially dangerous prescription medications available.” Hydrocodone is also among the drugs that the Food and Drug Administration <a href="https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/some-medicines-and-driving-dont-mix#:~:text=Some%20medicines%20that%20could%20make%20driving%20dangerous,anxiety%20*%20Sleeping%20pills%20*%20Some%20antidepressants">warns</a> &#8220;could make driving dangerous.&#8221;
Woods has dealt with severe back injuries throughout his career and was involved in a serious single car crash in Los Angeles in 2021. Woods pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge and one count of refusing to submit to a lawful test after he told deputies he would not go along with a urine test.
Woods said last week that he is “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

Bodycam <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6392513281112">footage</a> showed police officers at the scene talking to the golfer&#8217;s manager, Rob McNamara, who stressed that Woods did not want to leave his clubs behind.
One officer at the scene told McNamara, &#8220;I understand,&#8221; and added that the clubs were &#8220;worth more than my house.&#8221;
&#8220;The putter is worth more than all of our houses,&#8221; McNamara said, standing next to the police vehicle where Woods was in the backseat, the door open.
&#8220;Other than the clubs is there anything in there that you absolutely need at the moment?&#8221; the deputy asked.
&#8220;No, just the sticks,&#8221; Woods replied. &#8220;The sticks in the golf bag.&#8221;
He acknowledged that there were other golf clubs in the vehicle, but repeated that the only ones he needed were the ones inside the bag.
The deputy asked him about the putter then, and Woods explained, &#8220;I&#8217;ve won 14 majors with it.&#8221;
&#8220;They don&#8217;t call you the GOAT for nothing, man,&#8221; the deputy laughed.
The golfer&#8217;s Range Rover was turned from its side to an upright position, and upon realizing that the trunk could not be opened, someone from the fire department stepped in and shattered the back windshield. Police were then able to reach into the trunk and pull out the golf bag with the clubs inside — one of which sported a tiger head cover.
After failing several sobriety tests — and refusing a urine test — Woods was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/body-cam-shows-tiger-woods-undergoing-sobriety-test-after-rollover-crash">charged with DUI</a> with property damage and refusal to submit to a test.
As The Daily Wire previously reported, a judge granted the golfer&#8217;s request to travel outside of the United States after the golfer’s attorney cited his need to get into an “intensive, highly individualized and medically integrated program.” Woods <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tiger-woods-breaks-silence-after-dui-arrest-pga-tour-also-issues-statement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Tuesday that he would be “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

Tiger Woods says he will step away “for a period of time” to seek treatment after pleading not guilty in his DUI case tied to a Florida rollover crash, acknowledging the “seriousness” of the situation.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.
“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
The PGA Tour also released a statement following Woods’ announcement: 
“Tiger Woods is a legend of our sport whose impact extends far beyond his achievements on the course. But above all else, Tiger is a person, and our focus is on his health and well-being. Tiger continues to have our full support as he takes this important step.”
It comes just hours after Woods entered a not guilty plea in his latest DUI case, according to court records. He’s once again turned to prominent Florida defense attorney Douglas Duncan — the same lawyer who represented him after his 2017 arrest.
On Friday afternoon, Woods crashed his Range Rover near his Jupiter Island home while attempting to pass a truck towing a pressure cleaner. The vehicle flipped. He managed to crawl out, but responding officers said he appeared “lethargic” and possibly under the influence of medication or drugs.
He was charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test, and spent roughly eight hours in jail.
“DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment. They did several tests on him. Of course, he did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had. We did take that into account, but they did do some in-depth roadside tests,” Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said.
Deputies said Woods showed signs of impairment at the scene. A breath test later showed no alcohol in his system, shifting attention to whether another substance may have been involved.
“We really weren’t suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case, and that proved to be true at the jail. … But when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused. And, so, he’s been charged with DUI, with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test,” Budensiek added.
President Donald Trump weighed in Tuesday, saying Woods is “doing great” despite suffering “a lot of pain.”
“He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments, you know, the back and the leg,” Trump told The New York Post. “He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain.”
Trump has previously spoken about his close relationship with the 15-time major champion, who is dating Trump’s former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump. Vanessa is the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. and the mother of the president’s granddaughter, Kai, who committed to the University of Miami to play golf.

Penny restrained Neely on the NYC subway last year, after Neely, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/04/jordan-neely-had-history-of-mental-health-issues-before-subway-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a troubled man</a> with a lengthy criminal record and a history of mental health issues, allegedly threatened passengers.

Penny was controversially charged by liberal District Attorney Alvin Bragg with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in Neely’s death. During jury deliberations on Friday, however, the second-degree manslaughter charge was dismissed by the judge at the state&#8217;s request.
If convicted on the remaining count, Penny could serve up to four years behind bars.
