Kai Trump, the president&#8217;s 17-year-old granddaughter, could be one of the highest paid female athletes ever — and she hasn&#8217;t even started college yet.
According to the sports data site <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/kai-trump-247684/">On3</a>, Kai Trump&#8217;s name, image, and likeness (NIL) is valued at $1.2 million. That valuation places her behind only LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, LSU basketball player Flau’jae Johnson, and UConn basketball standout Paige Bueckers among top-earning female athletes.
NIL is the &#8220;leading index in the industry that determines the projected annual value for high school and college athletes.” Kai Trump also finalized an NIL deal with Dallas-based Leaf Trading Cards last month, which sells autographed cards at $20 a pack.
The high school senior expressed gratitude to her family when she announced her commitment to the University of Miami, writing that she was thankful for “my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”
Her social media following plays a significant role in that valuation. Kai Trump has “1.5 million followers on Instagram, 920,000 on X, and 2.9 million on TikTok,” The Independent <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/kai-trump-nil-valuation-golf-miami-b2695637.html">reported</a>. She also has a YouTube channel which, while primarily focused on golf, recently gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the inauguration.

Speaking at the Republican National Convention, she noted that the president, “calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me all about his. But then I have to remind him that I’m in school, and I’ll have to call him back later.&#8221;

Penny restrained Neely on the NYC subway last year, after Neely, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/04/jordan-neely-had-history-of-mental-health-issues-before-subway-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a troubled man</a> with a lengthy criminal record and a history of mental health issues, allegedly threatened passengers.

Penny was controversially charged by liberal District Attorney Alvin Bragg with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in Neely’s death. During jury deliberations on Friday, however, the second-degree manslaughter charge was dismissed by the judge at the state&#8217;s request.
If convicted on the remaining count, Penny could serve up to four years behind bars.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour has announced a major change to its eligibility rules for competition for transgender-identifying male players starting in 2025.
On Wednesday, the <a href="https://www.lpga.com/news/2024/lpga-updates-gender-policy-for-competition-eligibility">LPGA</a> released findings from its working group-which included experts “in medicine, science, sport physiology, golf performance and gender policy law” that found “the effects of male puberty confer competitive advantages in golf performance compared to players who have not undergone male puberty.”
“Under the new policy, athletes who are assigned female at birth are eligible to compete on the LPGA Tour, Epson Tour, Ladies European Tour, and in all other elite LPGA competitions,&#8221; the statement read. 
“Players assigned male at birth and who have gone through male puberty are not eligible to compete in the aforementioned events,” it added. “The policies governing the LPGA’s recreational programs and non-elite events utilize different criteria to provide opportunities for participation in the broader LPGA community.”

Notably, Davidson has taken aim at female athletes who criticize him. Photos emerged on Sunday of the moment law enforcement officials in Florida took a man into custody after he was allegedly preparing to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
Authorities arrested 58-year-old Ryan Routh — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alleged-would-be-assassin-was-democrat-donor-with-criminal-record?topStoryPosition=4">a Democrat donor with a criminal history</a> — after Secret Service noticed his AK-47-style rifle as he hid in shrubbery only a few hundred yards away from Trump at Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach. When he was engaged by federal law enforcement officials, he ran and got into a car and drove off. Fortunately, a witness captured a photo of the car and the license plate, allowing police to quickly locate and arrest him.

The FBI said it was investigating “what appears to be an attempted assassination of” the former president, at least the second time someone has tried to kill him. Former President Donald Trump challenged President Joe Biden to debate him again this week and separately challenged him to a televised golf match in which Trump offered to give Biden a 20-stroke advantage and said he would make a $1 million donation to Biden&#8217;s charity of choice if Biden manages to win.
Trump made the remarks while holding a rally in Doral, Florida, following his dominant debate performance against Biden two weeks ago that has spurred calls for Biden to drop out of the race because of his cognitive decline.

Several climate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/protesters" target="_blank" rel="noopener">protesters</a> briefly disrupted the PGA Tour&#8217;s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, on Sunday.
Video posted to social media showed the demonstrators run onto the 18th green and release a red or white powdery substance as players watched.
The Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/travelers-championship-intruders-18th-hole-police-bc3e9408e9417b8520fe866795761fe2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> the event was delayed for about five minutes as police intervened and the crowd heckled the activists.

A climate group called Extinction Rebellion took responsibility for the incident, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/23/sport/protesters-disrupt-travelers-championship/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> CNN.
Cromwell police said each protester was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass, and breach of peace.
ESPN <a href="https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/40415755/pga-tour-travelers-delayed-protesters-storm-18th-green" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that the protesters were released on a bond of $5,000 and are scheduled to appear in court on July 1.
The PGA Tour <a href="https://www.courant.com/2024/06/23/final-round-at-travelers-championship-disrupted-by-climate-protesters-on-18th-green/#:~:text=The%20PGA%20Tour%20released%20a,damage%20to%20the%2018th%20green." target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the powder was removed with no damage to the green and thanked Cromwell police for their &#8220;quick and decisive action.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.cbssports.com/golf/rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">First-ranked</a> golfer Scottie Scheffler, who ended up winning the event, said players were <a href="https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/40415755/pga-tour-travelers-delayed-protesters-storm-18th-green" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;grateful&#8221;</a> that law enforcement responded so fast.
&#8220;When something like that happens, you don&#8217;t really know what&#8217;s happening, so it can kind of rattle you a little bit,&#8221; he said.
Scheffler added that he and a fellow golfer, Tom Kim, &#8220;both tried to calm each other down so we could give it our best shot there on 18.&#8221;
Akshay Bhatia, another participant in the championship, <a href="https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/40415755/pga-tour-travelers-delayed-protesters-storm-18th-green" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he was &#8220;scared&#8221; for his life as he, too, did not know what was happening.
&#8220;But thankfully, the cops were there and kept us safe, because that&#8217;s, you know, that&#8217;s just weird stuff,&#8221; he said.
Climate activists have made headlines for vandalizing monuments, works of art, and more in places around the world.
Last week, protesters demonstrating against fossil fuels <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/climate-activists-vandalize-stonehenge-with-orange-paint" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spray-painted</a> Stonehenge in the United Kingdom with an orange substance.
Extinction Rebellion <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/23/sport/protesters-disrupt-travelers-championship/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement that the PGA protest was meant to highlight &#8220;the worldwide danger of climate breakdown.&#8221;
Noting golf is &#8220;heavily reliant on good weather,&#8221; the group said fans should &#8220;understand better than most the need for strong, immediate climate action.&#8221;

The Louisville police officer who arrested Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the world, earlier this month released a statement after charges against Scheffler were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/charges-dropped-against-scottie-scheffler-prosecutor-says-golfers-characterization-corroborated-by-the-evidence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> on Wednesday, standing by the version of events he described in his police report while praising the golfer for his &#8220;respect.&#8221;
The four criminal charges, including a felony assault charge, against Scheffler were dropped after Jefferson County (KY) Attorney Mike O’Connell said on Wednesday that Scheffler’s version of the incident “is corroborated by the evidence.” Louisville Metro Police Department Detective Bryan Gillis released a statement shortly after the charges were dropped, saying he wants to move past the bizarre incident as &#8220;there are more important things in the world right now,&#8221; Wave 3 News <a href="https://x.com/wardjolles/status/1795934865088528512/photo/1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. In a postscript, he also mentioned his $80 pants which he said were ruined during the incident.
&#8220;Mr. Scheffler and I agree that there will be no ill will over this going forward. Instead of giving a negative public reaction, he chose to speak with dignity, humility, and respect. My family and I appreciate that,&#8221; Gillis said.
The detective then blasted Scheffler&#8217;s attorney Steve Romines for calling Scheffler&#8217;s detainment a &#8220;false arrest.&#8221;
&#8220;It was unfortunate and disturbing to hear Steve Romines’ commentary today claiming that a ‘false arrest’ was made and for him to challenge my honesty and integrity. I’d be surprised and disappointed if Mr. Scheffler actually had any part in making those statements,&#8221; Gillis said.
&#8220;To be clear, I was drug by the car, I went to the ground, and I received visible injuries to my knees and wrist,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I’m going to recover from it, and it will be OK. This is the extent of my commentary on the incident. The reality is that there are more important things in the world right now than a back-and-forth over this. A person lost his life that day, and a family lost a loved one.&#8221;

A fatal accident involving a pedestrian stopped traffic on May 17 as Scheffler and other golfers attempted to get to the golf club for the second round of the PGA Championship. Scheffler said he was told by a police officer to drive “the opposite way with the traffic” to get into the golf club, but moments later, Gillis reportedly told Scheffler to stop his vehicle.
The golfer was accused of failing to obey Gillis&#8217; order, which allegedly resulted in the officer being dragged by Scheffler&#8217;s car. After Scheffler stopped his car, the golfer was arrested and taken to jail where he was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.

The four criminal charges against Scheffler, including a felony assault charge, were all dropped after Jefferson County (KY) Attorney Mike O’Connell said that his office cannot move forward with the prosecution and that Scheffler&#8217;s account of the incident — that it was a &#8220;big misunderstanding&#8221; — was &#8220;corroborated by the evidence.&#8221;
The 27-year-old golfer was arrested on May 17 after he attempted to drive into the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, to prepare for the second round of the PGA Championship. A fatal accident involving a pedestrian had stopped traffic, preventing Scheffler and other golfers from getting to the golf club’s entrance, but Scheffler said he was told by a police officer to drive “the opposite way with the traffic” to get into the golf club.
Moments later, another officer with the Louisville Police Department, Detective Bryan Gillis, reportedly told Scheffler to stop his vehicle. Scheffler was accused of failing to come to a stop, and police claimed the golfer “dragged” Gillis when he continued to drive forward. After Scheffler stopped his car, the golfer was arrested and taken to jail where he was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.
Scheffler responded to the news in a statement saying that it was a &#8220;misfortunate understanding&#8221; and that he held no ill will toward the arresting officer.
&#8220;I wish to put this incident behind me and move on, and I hope he will do the same,&#8221; Scheffler said. &#8220;Police officers have a difficult job and I hold them in high regard. This was a severe miscommunication in a chaotic situation.&#8221;

Scheffler said that while he appreciated all the support he&#8217;s received during this time, he wants everyone to remember &#8220;the real tragedy of May 17,&#8221; which was the death of John Mills.
&#8220;My thoughts and prayers continue to be with John Mills and his family,&#8221; he added.
Scheffler&#8217;s attorney Steve Romines said that he was happy with the outcome of the case and that there were grounds to file a lawsuit, but Scheffler did not want to escalate matters and did not want Louisville taxpayers to pay him if he won.
&#8220;I think everybody sees something like this happen and realizes they&#8217;re one wrong turn or running into the wrong person away from going to jail themselves,&#8221; Romines said. &#8220;That&#8217;s why you don&#8217;t talk to the police because they are going to try and put words in your mouth and that&#8217;s exactly what they did.&#8221;
