Let’s just get right into it: if you clicked on this piece, we’re on the same page.
You don’t need me to explain that Hollywood keeps pumping out moralizing slop for blue hairs and wine moms. You don’t need me to explain why that’s both boring and dangerous. But if you’re here, you might need some suggestions for your next binge. I’m happy to help.
But first, a few caveats.
I’m not including classic TV shows like “The Waltons” or “Father Knows Best.” These shows are obviously not woke, so putting them on this list would be like putting a hospital chapel on a list of worst first date spots.
I’m also not including “24” or “Band of Brothers” because I know you’ve already seen them. Nor am I listing game shows or singing competitions or professional sports, all of which are inherently apolitical — although maybe not so much anymore with the NFL.
Finally, just because these shows are not woke doesn’t mean they are explicitly conservative. Some of them have jokes about Republicans, and pretty much all of their stars and creators are huge liberals — we’re talking about Hollywood, after all. I acknowledge that, but still think these shows are great. Consider yourself warned.
Landman
You had to know this would be on the list. Billy Bob Thornton stars as a Texas oilman battling Mexican cartels and environmental regulators while looking out for his wife and daughter and guzzling Dr. Pepper. His character, Tommy Norris, is proudly not politically correct, loves smoking cigarettes, and is vigilant about his sobriety — although Michelob Ultra doesn’t count. “Landman” is, like all properties in “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan’s ever-expanding universe, a show by, for, and about real Americans.
The Man In The High Castle
This Amazon Prime show imagines a world where the Axis Powers won World War II, and the Nazis and Imperial Japanese divide up the United States. Nothing reminds you of the essential role America has played in defending freedom more than imagining a world where Washington, D.C. is a nuclear crater, and Swastikas fly in Times Square. Rufus Sewell delivers the performance of a lifetime as Obergruppenführer John Smith, an all-American man turned high-ranking Nazi official, whose rejection of his heritage and embrace of fascism slowly eats away at his family and his conscience.
Frasier
The “Cheers” spinoff stars (prominent conservative!) Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane, a snobby but lovable psychiatrist putting his life back together after a divorce. Sophisticated and smart but never condescending or preachy, watching “Frasier” is like spending an evening in a more civilized time. And while vulgarity was not a dealbreaker for placement on this list — looking at you, Taylor Sheridan — ”Frasier” is refreshingly genteel, devoid of profanity and bluster.
30 Rock
Tina Fey’s sendup of “Saturday Night Live” is the greatest sitcom of the 21st century for a number of reasons, but two in particular landed it on this list. The first is Alec Baldwin’s scotch-swilling, hippie-hating, Republican-boosting titan of industry, Jack Donaghy. Is this character a liberal’s caricature of a conservative? Yes. Does that change the fact that he is the show’s indisputable moral compass? No.
This brings us to the second thing that makes this show borderline conservative: it’s a seven-season story of one woman’s quest to get married and have children. Liz Lemon (Fey) begins the show as a single, quirky artist who loves feminism and living alone in a crappy apartment. Ultimately, with Jack forcing her to be honest with herself, she finds love, has kids, and achieves financial success. It’s the best defense of bourgeois morality since “Democracy in America.”
Silo
Another dystopian drama that highlights the blessings of liberty by imagining a world where it has disappeared. “Silo” is, literally, about a silo: a massive underground bunker where the last remnants of humanity live under the thumb of a merciless surveillance state. Our protagonists don’t know why the silo was built or what happened to the world outside, only that they can’t leave. But even in this hermetically sealed environment, people yearn for truth and freedom — and that yearning has consequences.
An aside: if you, like Daily Wire editor-in-chief Brent Scher, find yourself “bored as hell” two episodes into “Silo,” try “Paradise.” Similar concept, way more action, and significantly less depressing.
Gilmore Girls
This isn’t the most conservative show of all time, but it’s definitely the most pro-life. The entire premise hinges on the notion that a freewheeling bad girl chooses not to abort her unplanned teenage pregnancy, and instead throws herself into becoming a mom. Having children is always portrayed as an unalloyed good in “Gilmore Girls,” and essentially every female character has a motherhood arc.
But “Gilmore Girls” is also about the value of classical education, the importance of local government, and the virtues of masculinity. The show’s universe also operates on a pretty old-school moral code: good deeds are rewarded, and bad deeds are punished. Bonus points because this show appeals to all ages and genders — something you can’t really say for “Band of Brothers.”
Derry Girls
That’s right, more girls! Set in Ireland in the 1990s, “Derry Girls” follows a group of high school friends working their way through adolescence in the midst of The Troubles. Though it’s clear that the girls’ lives are shaped by the turmoil of Northern Ireland, they never talk about politics — they’re just regular teenagers. They spend most of their time trying to pull one over on their parents or Sister Michael, the fantastically droll headmistress of their school. “Derry Girls” is funny and poignant, and maybe the best depiction of cultural Catholicism ever put on television.
The only downside is that it’s a BBC show, which means there are only 19 episodes across three seasons. The British really do ruin everything.
For All Mankind
What if the Russians beat us to the moon by just a few days? That’s the premise of “For All Mankind,” a sprawling alternate history of the United States from 1969 on. The first few seasons of this show are like “The Right Stuff” on steroids: riskier space missions, interstellar gunfights with the Soviets, you name it. As we get closer to the present, things get admittedly squishier: there’s a strong implication that increased government funding of science can end racism, for instance. But even as the generations change, the OG astronauts remain on the scene to warn about the dangers of “progress” and remind everyone that the Soviets are evil. You’ll want to watch this one with an ice-cold can of Schlitz.
The Righteous Gemstones
A profane parody of a megachurch pastor and his family may not seem like it belongs on this list, but bear with me. Creator Danny McBride, who also stars as the eldest Gemstone child, clearly knows and loves the type of people he’s poking fun at. And so while the Gemstones are greedy and selfish and over-the-top, deep down they’re good. More importantly, the patriarch pastor, Eli (played to perfection by John Goodman), is never suggested to be lying about his beliefs.
“The Righteous Gemstones” respects and takes the Christian faith seriously, even as it mocks it. And the characters grow over time, learning to become better parents, children, and, ultimately, Christians. That’s a pretty remarkable thing in today’s media landscape. Plus, Walton Goggins’s performance as the Gemstone kids’ uncle, Baby Billy Freeman, is one for the record books.

TOKYO — Conservative Sanae Takaichi was elected Japan&#8217;s first female prime minister on Tuesday, shattering a political glass ceiling for women and setting the country up for a decisive turn to the Right.
An acolyte of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and an admirer of Britain&#8217;s Margaret Thatcher, Takaichi is expected to return to Abe-style government stimulus as she attempts to jumpstart an economy struggling with slow growth and rising prices. Her victory marks a pivotal shift in a country where men hold overwhelming sway, yet she named just two women to her cabinet.
Takaichi is likely to make a sharp turn to the Right on immigration and defense, reflecting the broader rightward shift in global politics. In her first press conference, she promised to work tirelessly to restore Japan&#8217;s economic might, and deepen the relationship with the United States under President Donald Trump.
&#8220;I am determined to deliver results for the nation, to build a strong Japan and to never give up,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;I also plan to meet President Trump at an early date to elevate the Japan-U.S. relationship to new heights,&#8221; she said.
Her victory was secured after her Liberal Democratic Party, which has governed Japan for most of postwar history, agreed on Monday to form a coalition with the right-wing Japan Innovation Party, known as Ishin.
Together, the parties are two seats short of a majority in the lower house. For Takaichi to be successful, she will need to find ways to cooperate with opposition lawmakers, said Tadashi Mori, a professor of politics at Aichi Gakuin University.
“The two parties do not command a majority in either chamber and to ensure a stable government and gain control of key parliamentary committees, they will need to secure more than half the seats,” he said.
Takaichi named just two women to her cabinet: Fellow Abe disciple Satsuki Katayama becomes the country&#8217;s first female finance minister, while Kimi Onoda becomes economic security minister.
In her leadership campaign, she promised to boost the number of women in the cabinet to match socially progressive Nordic countries. But while the percentage of female ministers in Nordic governments ranges from Denmark&#8217;s 36% to Finland&#8217;s 61%, under Takaichi, women will make up only 16% of Japan&#8217;s cabinet, including her.
Takaichi takes over when Japanese politics appears more fractured than at almost any other time in recent memory, thanks in part to the rise of the smaller, hard-right Sanseito Party, which has siphoned voters away from the LDP.
Sanseito chief Sohei Kamiya said that both national politics and the LDP had been on a leftward drift since the assassination of former premier Abe in 2022. Takaichi, he told broadcaster NHK, could possibly reverse that.
&#8220;While we won’t hesitate to oppose her when necessary, we intend to maintain a friendly working relationship,” he said.
The LDP&#8217;s former coalition partner, the more moderate Komeito, broke up their 26-year-old alliance this month after the LDP chose the right-wing Takaichi as new leader.
Takaichi&#8217;s endorsement of Abe-style fiscal stimulus has prompted a so-called &#8220;Takaichi trade&#8221; in the stock market, sending the Nikkei share average to record highs, the most recent hit on Tuesday. However, it has also caused investor unease about the government&#8217;s ability to pay for increased spending when the debt load exceeds annual output. Both the yen and bond prices have weakened as a result.
Some analysts say Ishin, which has advocated for budget cuts, could restrain some of Takaichi&#8217;s spending ambitions.
Takaichi has said defense and national security would be core pillars of any administration she led.
A frequent visitor to the Yasukuni war shrine in Tokyo, which some Asian neighbours view as a symbol of wartime aggression, Takaichi has also called for a revision of Japan’s postwar pacifist constitution to recognize the existence of the nation’s military forces.
Rising political star Shinjiro Koizumi will serve as defense minister, while veteran lawmaker Toshimitsu Motegi will be foreign minister.
Takaichi was sworn in as Japan&#8217;s 104th prime minister on Tuesday evening, succeeding Shigeru Ishiba, who last month announced his resignation to take responsibility for election losses.

“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">Brady Bunch</a>” cast alum <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Susan Olsen</a>, who played Cindy on the classic sitcom, said a reboot of the show was ultimately scrapped because of her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/conservatives">political beliefs</a>.
The 63-year-old actress <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Y-nPdg-NE">discussed</a> what happened during a newly published episode of the WalkAway Campaign podcast this week. Olsen mentioned how producers concocted a follow-up version of the show where all the Brady kids were adults with different political leanings. She said it would have resembled the “Roseanne” reboot from 2018 that had &#8220;a family with completely different political opinions, and in the end, they all love and respect each other.&#8221;
Olsen said Greg Brady (Barry Williams) would have been &#8220;a Reagan Republican,&#8221; Jan Brady would be a liberal, and Cindy would be a libertarian podcaster with views similar to the actress’s real beliefs.
&#8220;I am what I was going to portray, so what kind of show would this be if I can&#8217;t say anything that&#8217;s controversial?&#8221; Olsen said. &#8220;I did have a phone call with my [TV] siblings calling me and my agent. Everybody was saying, &#8216;We&#8217;re sorry, but they just won&#8217;t budge. They just will not have you in this.&#8217; I&#8217;m like wow, I&#8217;ve been canceled. A role that I&#8217;ve played for over 50 years, I can&#8217;t play it now because I&#8217;m too dangerous. So I was like &#8216;Well, okay guys, good luck, I hope you can sell it.'&#8221;
Olsen was fired from her Los Angeles talk radio show “Two Chicks Talkin&#8217; Politics” in 2016 after getting into an argument with guest Leon Acord-Whiting, who called her &#8220;a Trump fanatic&#8221; and accused her of spreading &#8220;outrageous misinformation.&#8221; 
Acord-Whiting posted a screenshot of a private message Olsen had allegedly sent him on Facebook containing “hateful speech,” which prompted LA Talk Radio to cut ties.
Olsen said CBS had a 50-page dossier of past comments that could be considered controversial, including her questioning of the COVID vaccine and her saying that “gender affirming” surgeries for minors were causing “irreparable damage.” 
The actress agreed to the network’s suggestion that she take a course on “political correctness” if needed.

Olsen said as they kept trying to make the project work, she had a Zoom meeting resembling an &#8220;inquisition&#8221; with the showrunner, producer, and her agent. During the call, she was asked about her current stance on all the hot-button issues. 
The actress said her agent mentioned trying to “circumvent” CBS, but she decided to let it go. &#8220;No, I&#8217;m done. At this point, you&#8217;re going to have a woke Brady Bunch, and I want no part of it,” Olsen said at the time.

Conservatives are making a play for the Amish vote in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state both former President Donald Trump and VP Kamala Harris are desperately trying to capture. 
Amish Americans generally stay out of mainstream politics despite recent efforts from Republicans, who see the conservative and religious residents as allies and an untapped voting bloc. When Amish people do vote, they <a href="https://lancasteronline.com/news/local/amish-voter-turnout-increased-in-lancaster-county-in-2020-research-shows/article_aecdd306-6b54-11ed-8c58-df9c5ac311e3.html">overwhelmingly</a> register as Republicans.
“I want you to know, we are courting the Amish vote,&#8221; conservative activist Scott Presler <a href="https://x.com/ScottPresler/status/1837585681935487338">said</a> at a political conference. &#8220;The Amish, if they are mobilized, could literally save Western civilization.” 
Presler is leading this stronger, renewed effort to capture the Amish vote this election cycle — especially in Pennsylvania, where 87,000 Amish reside. He says the Amish people he&#8217;s spoken to are receptive to mail-in ballots.
“When I go to the Amish and I tell them that they can have a private secret ballot that is sent to their homes, and they don&#8217;t have to drive their buggy to town and go to a polling location and have that stigma from their community: they love the idea of mail-in ballots,&#8221; Presler <a href="https://x.com/ScottPresler/status/1837585681935487338">said</a>. &#8220;And how epic would it be if a tool of the Democrats was used in order to get out the Amish vote and win and elect Donald J. Trump?” 
It&#8217;s not just the relatively new draw of mail-in ballots. Conservatives say the Amish are under threat from big government policies in PA, specifically when it comes to farming. Earlier this year, an <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/health/2024/03/amish-raw-milk-farmer-loses-bid-to-stay-in-business-without-permits.html">Amish farmer</a> named Amos Miller in Lancaster County had his farm raided by the state and was banned from selling raw milk products. Pennsylvania outright bans the sale of some raw milk products, like butter and yogurt, and mandates permits for others. The high-profile case that got the attention and support of both <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-jr-sick-after-amish-farm-raided-eggnog-1858257">Donald Trump Jr.</a> and RFK Jr., who is now a surrogate for Trump.

There are nearly 400,000 Amish nationwide, predominantly residing in rural areas in Ohio, Indiana, and, of course, Pennsylvania. The state&#8217;s Lancaster County holds the largest Amish community in the U.S. with about 44,000 Amish residents. 
In 2016, there were about <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2019/10/09/famously-secluded-amish-are-target-republican-campaign-drum-up-pennsylvania-votes-trump/">15,000 eligible Amish voters</a> in Lancaster County, but only about 1,000 of them voted in the presidential election. By 2020, though, <a href="https://lancasteronline.com/news/local/amish-voter-turnout-increased-in-lancaster-county-in-2020-research-shows/article_aecdd306-6b54-11ed-8c58-df9c5ac311e3.html">that number tripled</a>, to about 3,000 votes. A significant increase, likely due to some GOP efforts, but still a relatively low voter turnout. 
Presler, leading a PAC called Early Vote Action, is trying to change that. He and his team have been in the battleground state since last week, and plan to stay there and register voters for a total of 40 days.

Presler is a highly effective grassroots <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/scott-presler-conspiracy-theories-lara-trump-rnc-job-rcna144144">activist</a>. He’s not working directly for the Republican National Committee (RNC), since he has his own PAC now, but RNC co-Chair Lara Trump has praised Presler and said he’s registered more voters than anyone else she knows of. Presler also has support from <a href="https://x.com/DonaldJTrumpJr/status/1762508959234113711">Donald Trump Jr.</a>, who spoke to Presler earlier this year and advocated for efforts to register the Amish to vote. 
While Presler and his team still have weeks left in PA, the activist says their efforts in Pennsylvania more broadly have already helped to flip Luzerne County Red, with respect to voter registration. There are now 87,415 registered Republican voters, which is a razor thin 83-person lead over Democrats. Luzerne County was considered a Democrat stronghold.

Poilievre pushed back again, asking, &#8220;What are you talking about? What page? What page? Can you give me a page? Give me the page. You keep saying that —&#8221;
&#8220;In terms of turning things quite dramatically in terms of Trudeau and the left-wing and all of this, I mean, you make quite a — you know — it&#8217;s quite a play that you make on it, so —&#8221; the reporter appeared to struggle to find his question.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not sure — I don&#8217;t know what your question is,&#8221; Poilievre replied, appearing confused.
&#8220;Then forget that,&#8221; the reporter gave up, opting to strip the question down to its simplest form: &#8220;Why should Canadians trust you with their vote?&#8221;
Poilievre delivered a simple answer: &#8220;Common sense. Common sense. For a change, we&#8217;re going to make common sense common in this country. We don&#8217;t have any common sense in the current government.&#8221;
Poilievre went on to turn his attention to current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, explaining why he believed the liberals had failed at their chance to govern.

“Better Call Saul” and “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/breaking-bad">Breaking Bad</a>” actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Bob Odenkirk</a> acknowledged that he ignored the advice of a “cranky conservative” doctor and later had a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/heart-attack">heart attack</a>. 
The 60-year-old discussed what happened during a recent episode of the <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bob-erin-odenkirk/id1523507379?i=1000627705798">podcast</a> “Don’t Ask Tig.” 
&#8220;When I was 50, I went in, he was a heart doctor, Cedar-Sinai, and he had signs up all around his office at this point [saying] &#8216;We do not accept Obamacare,&#8217; and I hated this side of him that I only learned over time,&#8221; Odenkirk said.
The actor went on to say how the doctor, who he&#8217;d been seeing for 20 years, recommended taking statins to help lower his cholesterol. &#8220;And I said, &#8216;Well, I don&#8217;t know. I don&#8217;t have heart disease in my family.&#8217; He goes, &#8216;Just take &#8217;em,&#8221;&#8216; he went on. 
The “Nobody” star said he ended up getting a second opinion, and that doctor said he did not need medication. 
Odenkirk endured a near-fatal heart attack in 2021 while filming the award-winning series “Better Call Saul.” Per <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/07/25/1112731181/better-call-saul-breaking-bad-bob-odenkirk-peter-gould-heart-attack">NPR</a>, the actor&#8217;s heart stopped beating for 18 minutes.
The &#8220;Breaking Bad&#8221; alum said he should have listened to the first doctor despite disagreeing with his conservative political leanings.

&#8220;And I had a heart attack. And I think the first doctor was right,&#8221; Odenkirk said. &#8220;The cranky conservative jackass was right, because he was a good doctor. His political point of view doesn&#8217;t have anything to do with his ability to judge your health and your health choices and needs.&#8221;
The actor said he returned to work after five weeks of recovery and felt more energized than ever. 
&#8220;I came out of it with a strangely fresh energy towards my whole life, like I was born again,&#8221; he explained, per NPR. &#8220;Like, &#8216;Hey, everybody!.. Let&#8217;s go back to work and make stuff!'&#8221;
During a 2017 <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2017/02/15/bob-odenkirk-on-better-call-saul-s-future-and-unstable-president-trump">interview</a> with the Daily Beast, Odenkirk described himself as “obviously more of a liberal than I am a conservative” but also said, “you might be surprised at some of the positions I hold.”

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kevin-sorbo-says-he-doesnt-want-to-hear-about-gun-control-after-biden-willingly-freed-an-incredibly-dangerous-arms-dealer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">64-year-old actor</a> said his book centers on a lion cub, who through a series of events, must face his own fears and accept a quest that &#8220;leads him to courage and strength&#8221; to save his sister. He said the reason he decided to do a kids’ book rather than one geared towards an older group is that kids today need to hear the message &#8220;let boys be boys and let girls be girls.&#8221;
&#8220;Look what we are doing to kids today from our public education system, through television and movies, this whole thing about toxic masculinity,&#8221; the &#8220;Hercules&#8221; star told us. &#8220;For decades now we have been trying to make men more feminine and we&#8217;re trying to make women more masculine.&#8221;

&#8220;We need our boys to become strong men who can lead their families, communities, in a more positive direction,&#8221; he added. &#8220;The Bible calls for us [men] to be providers. For men to be providers and that takes nothing away from women.”
The &#8220;Andromeda&#8221; star said it&#8217;s clear the &#8220;family unit is under attack,&#8221; especially fatherhood, not just in entertainment, but in every aspect of our lives.
&#8220;The Bible teaches us to honor the father, sitcoms teach us to dishonor the father,&#8221; he added. &#8220;For a confused generation of men, which we have now, it&#8217;s much easier for public schools, universities, TV, movies, government, to control that.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s a total opposite of a generation of men that are seeking the truth,&#8221; Sorbo continued. &#8220;Which is why I think they reject people like me who stand up for Conservative values and christian values.&#8221;
However, the superstar said he does see a sign of hope that people are getting tired of the woke agenda coming out of Hollywood, noting the success of the independent film &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actor-jim-caviezel-sends-message-to-fans-as-sound-of-freedom-surpasses-150-million-mark" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sound of Freedom</a>,&#8221; which did better at the domestic box office than Disney&#8217;s latest &#8220;Indiana Jones&#8221; movie.
&#8220;I think people are getting sick of the crap Hollywood&#8217;s doing,&#8221; Sorbo said. &#8220;Case in point Hollywood, Hollywood&#8217;s about to be on its way to lose well over one billion dollars in theaters this year.&#8221;
&#8220;What does that show you,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It shows you people are sick of this woke stuff &#8230; People are tired of the woke stuff from Hollywood and they are tired of the woke message.&#8221;
The actor, who has a new movie coming out of his Sorbo Studios in October called &#8220;Miracle In East Texas,&#8221; admitted &#8220;we got a culture battle on our hands. Hollywood&#8217;s winning it, but tied is turning. People are sick of it and the lions out there are waking up.&#8221;

The 64-year-old actor told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/hercules-actor-kevin-sorbo-hollywood-canceled-christian-beliefs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> that he was &#8220;blackballed&#8221; in the entertainment industry, and his agent and manager told him his religious and political beliefs were to blame for why the offers for work dried up.
&#8220;It was sad to me, you know, my manager and agent for so many years said that we can&#8217;t get you jobs anymore, work with you because of you being a Christian, being a conservative,&#8221; Sorbo said.
&#8220;And I almost had to laugh at that because it&#8217;s an industry that screams for tolerance, and yet it&#8217;s a one-way street,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It screams for freedom of speech. But Hollywood&#8217;s a one-way street as well. And that&#8217;s just too bad, you know. But I love the industry. I love the movies and TV.&#8221;

Kevin&#8217;s wife, Sam Sorbo, told the outlet that her husband was even kicked off LinkedIn and Facebook for his beliefs.
&#8220;Even LinkedIn took me down,&#8221; Sorbo said with a laugh. &#8220;They don&#8217;t like the truth. I say on [X, formerly Twitter], I said, &#8216;I need more conspiracy theories because all of mine came true.&#8217; But did Facebook apologize for taking me down even though I was right? No, because they don&#8217;t like the truth. The truth is too difficult for some people to take.&#8221;
The comments came as Sorbo and his wife promoted their upcoming movie &#8220;<a href="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8531464/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_8_nm_0_q_Miracle%2520In%2520" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miracle in East Texas</a>,&#8221; coming out of the couple&#8217;s <a href="https://www.sorbostudios.com/miracle-in-east-texas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sorbo Studios</a> in October. He said it&#8217;s a movie based on a true story &#8220;about love and hope and faith and laughter.&#8221;

“I was shocked by that because it’s an immoral and egregious act for an employer to pay for an employee to terminate their children,” PublicSq. Founder and CEO Michael Seifert told The Daily Signal. “That’s my opinion. But on top of that, it was also a very blatantly obvious move for just more productivity out of their employees. And it was a stifling of [employees’] potential desires to have families.”
The companies travel expenses offer was a reaction to the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision last year to overturn Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 landmark case that legalized abortion nationwide. After it was overturned, Republican legislatures across the country enacted abortion bans on a state level, meaning women in some states must travel to a different state to obtain an abortion.

The rulings have been monumental and have shifted the country to the Right. Decades of liberal jurisprudence have been rolled back. Conservatives are celebrating. These are some sweet, sweet legal victories. Liberals are certainly doing everything that they can to smear the court as illegitimate. It seems the court is now a conservative powerhouse — and ideally, it&#8217;s just getting started.
Now, on paper, a review of how judges voted in this most recent term shows that Democrat-appointed and Republican-appointed judges aren&#8217;t necessarily voting strictly along ideology lines in most cases.
Per <a href="https://twitter.com/whignewtons/status/1674800421985038336?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC News&#8217; Sarah Isgur</a>, there has been a unanimous decision 50% of the time this term, at least one liberal justice has been in the majority 89% of the time, and there has been a 6-3 decision with all Republican appointees on the same side a mere 8% of the time.
&#8220;Voting blocs weren&#8217;t that different. If you only look at the non-unanimous cases, the 3 Democratic appointees voted together 24% of the time and the 6 Republican appointees voted together 17% of the time,&#8221; she added.
Obviously, some court cases are bigger than others. So those stats don&#8217;t tell the whole story.
This week alone, affirmative action was rolled back, free speech was protected, and the Biden administration&#8217;s student loan plan was stuck down. Justices in the majority systematically dismantled the three liberal dissenters in each case.
Indeed, the liberal dissenters seemed as if they were looking at another case altogether — to paraphrase Justice Neil Gorsuch&#8217;s rebuke in the majority opinion in the case of 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis. In that decision, the high court cited the First Amendment in ruling that Lorie Smith could not be forced by state civil rights law to design websites that run counter to her sincerely-held religious beliefs.

&#8220;The dissent abandons what this court&#8217;s cases have recognized time and time again: A commitment to speech for only some persons and some messages is no commitment at all,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-sides-with-christian-graphic-designer-who-refused-to-work-on-same-sex-weddings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.
Of the decision, Law Professor Jonathan Turley said, &#8220;This will go down as one of the most important free speech cases in the history of the court.&#8221;
On affirmative action, Justice Clarence Thomas spent his time dismantling Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson&#8217;s entire worldview.
&#8220;Make no mistake: Her dissent is not a vanguard of the innocent and helpless,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;It is instead a call to empower privileged elites, who will ‘tell us [what] is required to level the playing field’ among castes and classifications that they alone can divine…&#8221;
The student loan decision, while not upending the sort of wrongly decided precedent found in affirmative action or free speech, is still a gigantic deal.
Here too, the majority opinion and the dissenting opinion show how different the conservative vs. the liberal view of the Constitution truly is. It seems abundantly obvious that President Joe Biden and the Democrats forced the loan forgiveness through while knowing it was illegal.
To that extent, Chief Justice John Roberts even cited former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s observations that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-quoted-pelosi-in-decision-that-killed-bidens-student-debt-cancellation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">president can&#8217;t cancel student debt</a>.
As described by conservative <a href="https://twitter.com/jasonrantz/status/1674792698086293505?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commentator</a> Jason Rantz, &#8220;Biden and the Democrats knew what they were doing was overreach. And the Liberal SCOTUS judges who chose ideology over the law should feel abject shame for their dissent, which is meant to divide.&#8221;
One could rebut that liberal judges tend to always choose ideology over the law — which is how you get judicial activism. Conservative justices haven&#8217;t always put up the best fight against those efforts. Readers should remember that it wasn&#8217;t too long ago that Roberts was delivering victories for President Barack Obama — so much so that he even developed a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/30/us/politics/supreme-court-abortion-roberts.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reputation as a liberal</a>.
Now though, the court is beginning to undo decades of bad decisions, while at the same exposing the nonsensical ideology that has guided it.
So perhaps the reason for the freakout over the court this week is two-fold: The first reason is that Leftists can&#8217;t stand when things don&#8217;t go their way. The second is that after so many years of the court siding with a liberal interpretation of the Constitution, including when it had the votes to stave off the leftward lurch, the court&#8217;s move to the right now feels like a massive whiplash.
That has to hurt.

Hollywood star Gary Sinise knows being a conservative in Tinseltown isn&#8217;t easy, but acknowledged that he&#8217;s had a great career despite being outspoken about his political beliefs.
During Friday&#8217;s episode of CNN&#8217;s &#8220;Who&#8217;s Talking to Chris Wallace?,&#8221; the host asked the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gary-sinise">67-year-old actor</a> about his decision to start the conservative group, Friends of Abe, for right-leaning Hollywood figures in 2004 and not just sticking to acting, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politics-news/gary-sinise-conservative-hollywood-political-beliefs-1235312439/">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported.
Sinise, who is best known for his role as Lt. Dan, the wounded veteran in the hit movie &#8220;Forrest Gump,&#8221; said the group started &#8220;during the early days of the Iraq War,&#8221; because he and his friends wanted to make sure soldiers never suffered for their service like Vietnam veterans did.
&#8220;I think so much was motivated by … what happened to our Vietnam veterans and the lack of support that they got and the way they were treated, and then we regretted it later on,&#8221; Sinise said.
&#8220;I didn’t want our Iraq War and Afghanistan veterans to fall prey to any of that kind of stuff,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I just wanted to get in there and support them. So, I started looking for people that were just in the same camp as me on that subject. And I found other folks in the movie and television business who enjoyed getting together.&#8221;

&#8220;I&#8217;ve had a blessed career in the movie and television and theater business,&#8221; Sinise shared. &#8220;I&#8217;ve done amazing things, I&#8217;ve worked with amazing people, and it really played a major role, if not the key element, in what I&#8217;m doing today on the service side.&#8221;
The star said he got to a point in his career where he could &#8220;pick and choose&#8221; roles that were &#8220;very specifically&#8221; based on the issues that matter to him, like &#8220;giving back and trying to serve our veteran community and our first responder community.&#8221;
In 2011, the &#8220;CSI:NY&#8221; star took his role as Lt. Dan one step further and founded the Gary Sinise Foundation, which offers a variety of programs and services for wounded veterans of all military branches.

Soon, when you flip on AT&amp;T&#8217;s DirectTV, you&#8217;ll be able to find tens of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/legacy-media" target="_blank" rel="noopener">liberal news</a> networks, but only two conservative-leaning channels — Fox News and The First.
Are those the only two conservative news stations in existence? No. In fact, there&#8217;s an even more popular channel than The First that DirectTV has elected not to carry: Newsmax.
Newsmax, the fourth highest-rated cable news network, just got the boot from DirectTV despite its success and popularity. Another Right-leaning network, OAN, was kicked off of DirecTV last spring.
The decision to cut ties with Newsmax, according to the company&#8217;s founder &amp; CEO Chris Ruddy, is a &#8220;blatant act of political discrimination and censorship.&#8221;
Indeed, Ruddy appears to be correct.
AT&amp;T&#8217;s decision to nix both OAN and Newsmax came after Representatives Jerry McNerney (D-CA) and Anna Eshoo (D-CA) <a href="https://eshoo.house.gov/sites/eshoo.house.gov/files/Eshoo-McNerney-TV-Misinfo%20Letters-2.22.21.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent a letter</a> in 2021 to the company demanding information as to what &#8220;action&#8221; it was taking to counter the usual allegations of misinformation and disinformation on conservative channels — Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN.
The two alleged that that trio of channels served as &#8220;hotbeds that produce content that leads to real harm.&#8221;
To back up their claims, McNerney and Eshoo cited a bevy of Left-wing outlets and watchdogs that all push Democratic propaganda around the clock.
Absent in the two&#8217;s concerns was anything about the Russia collusion hoax narrative, global warming falsehoods, myths about police violence, or any other leftist narrative that is based on lies. More alarmingly at the time, hardly any other cable channel seemed concerned that the government was, in effect, pressuring a private company to silence a media company.
Eshoo insisted she eschewed any direct violations of the First Amendment by claiming the letter was just &#8220;asking questions&#8221; and not explicitly asking for the networks to be dropped.
Of course, there&#8217;s the old saying: Never write if you can speak; never speak if you can nod; never nod if you can wink.
Perhaps the silent signal was sent to AT&amp;T loud and clear to toe the leftist line.
Per Newsmax, the idea that it was a financial decision doesn&#8217;t make any sense.
&#8220;DirecTV pays cable license fees to all top 75 cable channels and to all 22 liberal news and information channels it carries,&#8221; Newsmax <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/newsmax-at-t-directv/2023/01/24/id/1105756/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in an editorial. &#8220;Almost all of these channels are paid hefty license fees significantly more than Newsmax was seeking — and despite the fact that most of the channels have much lower ratings than Newsmax.&#8221;
Republicans on Capitol Hill are promising to get to the bottom of it. Congressman James Comer (R-KY), chair of the powerful House Oversight and Reform Committee, told Newsmax that he is &#8220;very concerned&#8221; by it and will use his power to investigate.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve had several people from AT&amp;T reach out to me,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/james-comer-directv-newsmax/2023/01/27/id/1106175/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. &#8220;We&#8217;re going to have a meeting with them and, hopefully, we can get this resolved.&#8221;
Now, politicians such as Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), former President Donald J. Trump, and more are encouraging millions of Americans to dump AT&amp;T to send a message loud and clear message with their hard-earned dollars.
AT&amp;T&#8217;s decision comes amidst the backdrop of various corporations pushing the woke agenda. Evidence abounds that Big Tech has been in bed with the FBI and other actors to put the kibosh on Right-leaning media and speech that goes against the government-media complex agenda. Conservatives, it seems, are outnumbered in every sector of society.
Newsmax reels in &#8220;25 million Americans on cable alone&#8221; according to the company. They are now all being funneled to Fox News or the upstart First TV. But, for those who think it&#8217;s no big deal that liberal networks outnumber conservative channels 22:2 on AT&amp;T, they should remember that the censorship might not end there.
As Congressman Eli Crane (R-AZ) explained, &#8220;First @OANN, now @NEWSMAX… This is an unacceptable attack on free speech, and every American should be outraged.&#8221;

Given DirecTV&#8217;s alleged political bias, it seems that conservative media is being blocked out on cable, thus allowing legacy media and the liberal TV industry to control the narrative even tighter. That stranglehold isn&#8217;t enough for anti-free speech actors. Leftists want to have complete dominance over the flow of information and the news so that they can dictate the direction of the country.
The antidote to that propaganda is the truth, which is why conservative outlets — such as Newsmax and others — are silenced by their opponents.
