According to the official record of the <a href="https://people.com/kate-middleton-quietly-returns-to-work-for-first-time-since-cancer-treatment-8714350">Royal family’s activities</a>, the Princess of Wales was present at a meeting at Windsor Castle with those from her Center for Early Childhood team and Kensington Palace staff.
“The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle,” the event entry, per The <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/09/17/princess-of-wales-returns-to-work-early-childhood-project/?ICID=continue_without_subscribing_reg_first">Telegraph</a>, read in the report on Tuesday.
It is the first time Princess Kate has returned to work in what appears to be the start of her return to royal engagements, <a href="https://people.com/kate-middleton-quietly-returns-to-work-for-first-time-since-cancer-treatment-8714350">People magazine</a> noted.

Earlier this month, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-middleton">Middleton</a> dropped some incredible news about her cancer battle after first sharing back on March 22 that she’d been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
In a post on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_s6SukNNne/?igsh=MWQ1ZGUxMzBkMA%3D%3D">Instagram</a> from the royal house of Kensington Palace, the Princess of Wales can be seen in the emotional video spending time with Prince William and their three kids as she opens up about the relief of finally completing chemo and what she’s learned about what matters most. 
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Middleton said. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.” 
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she added. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.” 
“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted,” Middleton continued. “Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.”

The Princess of Wales has been keeping a low profile since announcing her cancer treatment on March 22. 
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” she said at the time. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” the princess added.

Kate Middleton Drops Incredible News About Cancer Battle

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/models">Supermodel</a> Elle Macpherson is discussing a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cancer">cancer</a> diagnosis she received seven years ago and how she refused to do traditional treatments despite medical recommendations.
The 60-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">celebrity</a> is opening up about what happened in advance of her new book, “Elle,” which is being released in November.
&#8220;It was a shock, it was unexpected, it was confusing, it was daunting in so many ways,&#8221; Macpherson <a href="https://www.womensweekly.com.au/news/elle-macpherson-now/">told</a> The Australian Women&#8217;s Weekly of being diagnosed with breast cancer. &#8220;And it really gave me an opportunity to dig deep in my inner sense to find a solution that worked for me… I realized I was going to need my own truth, my belief system to support me through it. And that’s what I did.&#8221;
Despite the model’s doctor recommending a mastectomy with chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy, Macpherson opted for &#8220;an intuitive, heart-led, holistic approach” instead, which earned her mixed reactions from family members.
“I realized I was going to need my own truth, my belief system to support me through it,” she told the outlet. “And that’s what I did. So, it was a wonderful exercise in being true to myself, trusting myself and trusting the nature of my body and the course of action that I had chosen.”
“I chose a holistic approach. Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder,” she wrote in her book.
The model also talked about how in her opinion, not everyone should take the same approach to cancer treatment. “Sometimes an authentic choice from the heart makes no sense to others … but it doesn’t have to. People thought I was crazy but I knew I had to make a choice that truly resonated with  me. To me, that meant addressing emotional as well as physical factors associated with breast cancer. It  was time for deep, inner reflection. And that took courage.”

Her sons Flynn and Cy, who were 19 and 14 at the time, had different reactions, as did the boys’ father and her former partner Arki Busson.
Macpherson wrote in the book, “Cy simply thought that chemo kills you. And so he never wanted me to do it because he thought that was a kiss of death. Flynn, being more conventional, wasn’t comfortable with my choice at all. He is my son, though, and would support me through anything and love me through my choices, even if he didn’t agree with them. My children were extremely supportive in their different ways but I knew they felt very scared.”
“Arki was really supportive,” she continued. “He didn’t agree with what I was doing … Yet he wrote to me to tell me how proud he was of the courage I was showing. Of course he was scared because I’d decided not to take a conventional pharmaceutical route. He considered that extreme.  I, on the other hand, felt the chemo and surgery route was extreme.”
The Australian-born star also shared an update on her current health. &#8220;In traditional terms, they’d say I’m in clinical remission, but I would say I’m in utter wellness. And I am!&#8221; she said.
&#8220;Truly, from every perspective, every blood test, every scan, every imaging test … but also emotionally, spiritually and mentally – not only physically. It’s not only what your blood tests say, it’s how and why you are living your life on all levels.&#8221;

“Boy Meets World” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actress</a> Danielle Fishel, who played the character Topanga in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">series</a>, announced that she’s been diagnosed with early-stage breast <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cancer">cancer</a>.
The 43-year-old mother of two explained during Monday&#8217;s episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast that the cancer was discovered during a routine mammogram, per <a href="https://pagesix.com/2024/08/19/entertainment/boy-meets-world-alum-danielle-fishel-diagnosed-with-breast-cancer/">Page Six</a>.
“I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a form of breast cancer,” Fishel said. “It’s very very very early, it’s technically stage zero.”
The actress said she was diagnosed with “high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion” and will have surgery to remove it.

“I’m going to be on some follow-up treatment,” Fishel added, mentioning that she&#8217;d consulted with multiple medical professionals. “I’ve had to make a lot of decisions over the last couple of days.”
The “Boy Meets World” alum said the cancer was found early because she remained diligent about getting checked and urged her fans to do the same. 
“The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment,” she said during the podcast conversation. 
“They found it so, so, so early that I’m going to be fine. I hope it will encourage anyone to get in there. If it’s time for your appointment, if you’ve never had an appointment before, get in there. If you have to find out that you have cancer, find out when it’s at stage 0, if possible.”

Her former co-star and current podcast co-host Rider Strong said Fishel’s diagnosis was “mind-boggling.” 
“Right now, my wife and I know four people — four friends — who are dealing with breast cancer,” Strong said while reiterating that listeners should be screened often. 
Will Friedle, who also starred in the ABC sitcom in the 90s, echoed his message of support. “We love you, and you know that we’ve got you. Whatever you need, we’re here,” he said while addressing Fishel. “You are going to be fine, and you might have some sucky days coming up, but we’re here for you.”

Speaking to her fans in an 8-minute long video she posted on Thursday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C-qrPvfOxm9/">Instagram</a>, the 65-year-old comedian tried to sound upbeat as she shared the news that the cancer was back. She captioned the post, “Cancer Update: I have 34.8 months to live if I don’t get hit by a meteor &#8230; get Covid again or WWIII breaks out.”
&#8220;Update on the cancer: they cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest that is laying on my windpipe and eventually would suffocate me to death,&#8221; Jackson said with a little chuckle.
She sounded optimistic as she revealed that she’s been given a “magic pill” by doctors that contains a cancer growth blocker that she said will “hopefully” “shrink the marble,” <a href="https://pagesix.com/2024/08/16/entertainment/snl-alum-victoria-jacksons-cancer-returns-with-inoperable-tumor/">Page Six</a> noted.
Jackson Googled the medicine and said that people who take it have lived for &#8220;32.6 months” compared to those with the placebo, who “had 28 months to live.”
“I think that’s great. The “SNL” star appeared on the show during its great years from 1986 to 1992, NBC News noted. Jackson was on the show during the same time as superstars like Dennis Miller, Jon Lovitz, and Phil Hartman, just to name a few, per <a href="https://www.imdb.com/list/ls054334660/">IMDb</a>.
She is probably best remembered for her &#8220;Weekend Update&#8221; appearances on the show. She also appeared in various movies and TV shows at the time, IMDb noted.

After the men’s final, Middleton presented the champion’s trophy to Alcaraz for the second year in a row, part of the Princess of Wales’ duties as patron of the All England Club, which hosts the annual tournament, the outlet noted.
“You played so well,” Middleton told him while speaking to Alcaraz. “Enjoy the win.”

Before the royals left the court, she also spoke to both players and shook hands with some of the ball kids.
“It was, of course, a privilege to be in her presence again. I’ve said to her that it is very nice to see her in good health; she seems to be in good health,” Djokovic said at his post-match news conference. “That’s obviously very positive news for everyone in this country, but also for Wimbledon.”
Last month, the wife of Prince William made her first public appearance since announcing she was undergoing preventive cancer treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-makes-first-public-appearance-since-cancer-announcement">reported</a>.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/royal-family">royal</a> was photographed smiling and waving at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/united-kingdom">crowd</a> during the annual Trooping the Colour parade, which is held every year to celebrate the monarch’s birthday. She was joined by her daughter and her two other children, Prince George and Prince Louis, all whom she shares with the Prince of Wales.
The Princess of Wales has been keeping a low profile since announcing her cancer treatment on March 22. 
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” she said at the time. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” the princess added.
The Princess of Wales recently gave an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-shares-update-on-battle-against-cancer">update</a> about how she was doing and said she was “blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement” she’s received so far amid cancer treatments.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting,”Middleton said. “But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” Princess Kate added. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

Kate Middleton Makes Surprise Appearance At Wimbledon

A newly released study by scientists, mostly from Penn State University, outlines their technique of penetrating cancer cells and editing them to make them more vulnerable to cancer therapies.
The proof-of-concept study was published July 4 in <a style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;" href="https://doi.org/10.1038/s41587-024-02271-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-analytics-id="inline-link" data-url="https://doi.org/10.1038/s41587-024-02271-7" data-hl-processed="none" data-component-tracked="1" data-custom-tracking-id="1364405149715553536" data-hawk-tracked="hawklinks" data-google-interstitial="false" data-label="Nature Biotechnology">Nature Biotechnology</a>.
The scientists “devised an approach to edit cancer cells, delivering two new ‘switches’ into them. The first switch enables modified cells to outgrow the rest of the cancer cell population. Then, the second switch allows these cells to unleash a toxic drug onto the remaining tumor,” Kristel Tiandra wrote in <a href="https://www.livescience.com/health/lung-cancer/ive-never-seen-anything-like-this-scientists-hijack-cancer-genes-to-turn-tumors-against-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LiveScience.</a>
Tiandra explained that the scientists inserted two &#8220;suicide genes&#8221; into non-small cell lung cancer cells (NSCLC); one gene, aided by the cancer drug erlotinib — which usually stops a protein called EGFR from being activated — allowed the cancer cells to become resistant to erlotinib, thus permitting the team to control whether the cancer cells proliferated.
The modified cancer cells grew faster than the unmodified cells that resisted the drug. Once more of the modified cells were added, the scientists stopped using erlotinib, and the growing cells stopped.
“Once their trap was set, the scientists activated the second suicide gene using a harmless molecule called 5-FC. Cleverly, the second gene codes for an enzyme that helps cells transform 5-FC into a toxin, called 5-FU, that kills cancer. The 5-FU ultimately kills both the modified cancer cells and the cells surrounding them,” Tiandra explained.
The team found that after 20 days of treatment, the modified cancer cells had outgrown the unmodified cells; by roughly 14 weeks after the initial treatment, the tumor&#8217;s volume had dwindled to zero.
“We see this as something beyond the treatment of lung cancer,” lead study author Scott Leighow said. “We see this as a generalizable platform for delivering therapeutic genes in cancer and using those to create therapeutic opportunities that might lead to cures in the future.”
Aaron Goldman, a cancer pharmacologist at the Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital, told LiveScience, “I&#8217;ve not seen anything like this.”

Heart <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/music">singer</a> Ann Wilson on Tuesday told fans she has cancer, and the band is postponing the remaining concerts on its Royal Flush Tour.
The 74-year-old singer shared the update on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C87feBGhegR/">social media</a>. &#8220;I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,&#8221; Wilson shared with her Instagram followers. 
“The operation was successful and I’m feeling great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I’ve decided to do it,” the post continued.
The Heart singer also noted that her doctors told her to “take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”
“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely do plan to be back on stage in 2025,” Wilson wrote. She continued by thanking her fans for their continuing support, then concluded by writing, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”
Wilson noted that she wouldn’t be commenting more publicly on the matter.
The rock band Heart formed in 1973 in British Columbia and is best known for commercial hits like &#8220;Magic Man,&#8221; &#8220;Crazy on You,&#8221; &#8220;Barracuda,&#8221; and &#8220;Alone.&#8221; Heart has been nominated for four Grammy Awards and has sold more than 50 million records worldwide, with about half of those sales coming from the United States.

A statement shared on Heart&#8217;s official Instagram page said of the tour postponement, &#8220;More information to be announced in the coming weeks.&#8221;
This announcement came several weeks after Wilson and her sister, Nancy, who is also a member of the band, announced that several of the June and July concerts in Europe were being canceled due to health reasons.
The two bandmates said at the time that Wilson would use the time to “undergo a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure” and would have at least six weeks of recovery, according to a report from <a href="https://people.com/heart-cancels-european-tour-ann-wilson-needs-medical-procedure-8655984">People magazine</a>.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) announced on social media late Sunday night that she was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The announcement comes after Lee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sheila-jackson-lee-suffers-blowout-defeat-in-houston-mayor-runoff-election">lost</a> her race last year to be the next mayor of Houston following the release of leaked audio tapes in which she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sheila-jackson-lee-addresses-leaked-audio-tape-of-her-viciously-berating-staff">berated</a> staffers.
&#8220;My doctors have confirmed my diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-middleton">Kate Middleton’</a>s health has reportedly “turned a corner” for the better amid her ongoing cancer battle after she announced her diagnosis on March 22.
A source close to the Princess of Wales said reports that Middleton is not likely to return to royal work-related duties at all this year are inaccurate and said she’s actually starting to do better with her cancer treatments, <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/style/story/kate-middleton-update">Vanity Fair reported.</a>
“It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better,” a family friend told the outlet. “It has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time. Everyone has rallied around her—William, her parents, and her sister and brother.”
And as far as when we can expect to see Middleton to return to her public engagements, a well-placed source told the outlet, “There is no timeline, and there is certainly no hurry.&#8221;

Kate Middleton’s Health Has ‘Turned A Corner’: Report

Kensington Palace has issued an update about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-middleton">Kate Middleton</a>, Princess of Wales, returning to her royal duties.
The 42-year-old wife of United Kingdom heir apparent Prince William announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cancer">cancer</a> and was going through treatments. Middleton originally stepped back from her role in public life in January as she was having abdominal surgery. Cancer was discovered at that time, royal reps said.
Most details about the Princess of Wales’s condition have been kept quiet, but the palace issued a rare update this week confirming that she won’t be returning to her public role anytime soon.
&#8220;The princess is not expected to return to work until it&#8217;s cleared by her medical team,&#8221; a spokesperson for Middleton said Monday, per <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/princess-kate-cancer-update-kensington-palace-1902896">Newsweek</a>. &#8220;Early childhood will continue to be central to her public work.&#8221;
Speculation about the royal’s return heated up recently after Princess Kate’s main cause, the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, published  a new report identifying a potential £45 billion ($57 billion) boost to the U.K. economy through investing in early childhood, the outlet noted. 
The report detailed  “Prioritizing early childhood for a happier, healthier society&#8221; but did not include a statement from Middleton or mention her involvement. 
The foundation is one of several ventures the Princess of Wales is involved in that deal with early childhood, which Kensington Palace confirmed is still the royal family member’s focus when she returns. 
Middleton broke her silence in March to reveal her cancer diagnosis after weeks of fan and media speculation about her health.
