<p>MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd grilled Vice President <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/chuck-todd-is-clearly-not-buying-kamala-harris-claim-the-border-is-secure/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kamala Harris</a> over an apparent midterm strategy being embraced by some left-wing organizations and even some Democrats.</p>
<p>Todd spoke with <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/joe-scarborough-floats-questionable-theory-on-why-people-like-ron-desantis-better-than-kamala-harris/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harris</a> in a wide-ranging interview that aired on Sunday morning&#8217;s broadcast of &#8220;Meet the Press,&#8221; and he asked her whether it &#8220;reflected poorly&#8221; on Democrats as a whole to see members of the party elevating hard-right candidates in primaries — some of whom they had labeled a threat to democracy — in the hopes that they would be easier for Democrats to defeat in the general election.</p>

<p>&#8220;I’m curious, when you see the Democratic Party and some parts of the party funding ads to promote election deniers whether it’s Michigan, the high-profile race there, Illinois, Colorado, New Hampshire, it looks like a cynical — you know, a little bit cynical,&#8221; Todd began. &#8220;The president went out of his way to say there are good Republicans here. Should you leave the good Republicans alone in a primary? Is the Democratic Party making a mistake here? Those people could win if you’re not careful.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Listen. I’m not going to tell people how to run their campaigns,&#8221; Harris replied.</p>
<p>&#8220;Would you have done this? Would you have done this?&#8221; Todd continued. &#8220;Is this something you’d be comfortable doing?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I’m not going to tell people how to run their campaigns, Chuck,&#8221; Harris said, noting that she had run for statewide office more than once and believed the business of strategy should be left to the candidates themselves and their teams of advisors. &#8220;Let them make the decision based on what they believe is in the best interest of their state. I’m not going to tell people what to do.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;You’re not worried that this reflects poorly on the Democrats?&#8221; Todd pressed.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think what we have to focus on is that within 60 days of this interview, in less than two months, we are looking at a midterm election in which so much is on the line,&#8221; Harris responded, pivoting to abortion rights and arguing that in the wake of the Supreme Court&#8217;s recent decision in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization</em> — which resulted in the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade</em> — meant that everything was on the line going into November&#8217;s midterm elections.</p>
