Hollywood celebrities, who know as much about the byzantine world of politics and the letter of the law as they do about nuclear physics, are using the opportunity of the President Trump/James Comey political tornado to weigh in with advice for Congress and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein: create an independent commission and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate possible collusion between Russia and President Trump’s presidential campaign.
In a letter to Rosenstein, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Alec Baldwin, Zoe Saldana, Julianne Moore, Sally Field, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Moore, Patti Lupone, Lee Daniels, Paul Haggis, Dustin Lance Black, Melissa Etheridge, Jane Fonda, Josh Gad, Chris Evans and Marisa Tomei expressed their highly-informed opinion that Congress should appoint a special prosecutor, writing:
