While Ukraine Burns, Kamala Harris Tweets About Pushing LGBTQ Issues. She Gets Mocked.

While Russia was invading Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been putting his nuclear deterrent forces on alert, inflation is soaring, and Joe Biden’s administration saw about two million border apprehensions throughout 2021,  Vice President Kamala Harris took to Twitter on Thursday to press for Congress to deal with LGBTQ issues.

And she got pilloried.

Harris tweeted, “Let’s send the Equality Act to President Biden’s desk. We must increase protections for LGBTQ+ Americans across the country. The onslaught of state bills targeting transgender Americans and their families is wrong.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) fired, “America: inflation is screwing us, our border is lawless, and there’s a ground war in Europe. Kamala: we need to get men in women’s sports asap.”

Nile Gardiner, a former aide to iconic British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, tweeted, “Meanwhile Ukraine is burning and Putin’s army is rampaging across Europe. The Biden presidency is living in the Twilight Zone.”

Actor Derek Ray chimed in, “Every leader should be focusing solely on the potential triggering of article 5. There is a nuclear disaster unfolding in Europe. Hypersonic missiles do not discriminate. #Priorities.”

Former Miss Nevada Lisa Song Sutton commented succinctly, “What a luxury that we can be focused on pronouns during a time like this.”

On Monday, at a White House celebration of Black History Month, Harris, speaking of President Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to replace Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, who is retiring, insisted, “Because as we all know, elections matter. When folks vote they order what they want. And in this case, they got what they asked for.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) fired, “The American people didn’t ask for any of this: Record Inflation Record border crisis Closed schools A war on American energy Afghanistan disaster Russia invasion of Ukraine.”

North Dakota GOP Senator Kevin Cramer added, “Please tell me some talented impersonator dubbed audio over video of a funny thing she said.”

Arkansas GOP gubernatorial candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders echoed, “Yes, elections do matter! And in November, we’ll see that no one asked for the Democrats’ soaring inflation, closed schools & masked kids, record crime, or war on American energy. It’ll be a referendum on Biden’s complete and total failure.”

On Tuesday, Harris was mocked for her explanation of the war in Ukraine after she was asked, “If you’re watching any level of news, even social media, you’re seen everything that’s going on right now in the Ukraine. Break it down in layman’s terms for people who don’t understand what’s going on and how can this directly affect the people the United States.”

“So Ukraine is a country in Europe,” Harris said, with her vast knowledge of geography. “It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong.”

As The Daily Wire reported, these were some of the comments responding to Harris:

  • Seth Mandel, Washington Examiner: “Terrifying.”
  • Tyler Cardon, The Blaze: “I want to say we deserve better elites, but maybe we don’t.”
  • Chris Hartline, NRSC: “I’m glad to see that the Vice President’s staff printed out the Wikipedia entry for Ukraine to prep her for an interview, otherwise she would have sounded unprepared.”
  • Christopher White, reporter: “Apparently Harris was asked to dumb down the conflict. She rolled out this explanation in response, which I guess is good enough for folks who don’t know we are about as close to a hot nuke war as we’ve ever been.” He added, “Kind of like Ike explaining to constituents and commoners back in the day of yore why commie-nist Russia having access to thermo-nukes is a bad thing.”
  • Tammy Bruce, Fox News: “I thought this was a parody. With everything we know about the incompetence & absurdity of Kamala Harris this is remarkable.”
  • Meghan McCain, The Daily Mail: “This gives me so much anxiety. This is like how my 16 year old niece would answer this question.”
  • Geoffrey Ingersoll, The Daily Caller: “I’m assuming the audience for ‘The Morning Hustle’ is adult humans and not kindergarteners ….”
  • Ben Shapiro, The Daily Wire: “She is the Michael Scott of politics.”
  • Jesse Hunt, RGA: “This is one way to avoid another gaffe.”
