On Wednesday, President Joe Biden thanked a handful of bipartisan officials for putting together the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. During his acknowledgments, he asked, “Where’s Jackie?” confused as to why he did not see the woman he had just mentioned in his remarks.

The evidence indicates that he was likely referring to the deceased Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN). She passed away last month in an automobile accident.

“I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, Representative … Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? … I think she must not be here,” Biden said while searching for “Jackie.”

Walorski died on August 3, 2022, and was instrumental in creating this conference.

The White House Domestic Policy Council (DPC), which put on the event, thanked her in its official briefing strategy document. The reference sounds nearly identical to Biden’s remarks on Wednesday morning. Here’s the text:

“DPC greatly appreciates the bipartisan support of Chairman McGovern, Senator Booker, and Senator Braun for the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. DPC also recognizes and is grateful for the late Congresswoman Jackie Walorski for her unwavering commitment to ending hunger.”

There is no other reference to a “Jackie” in that document.

To make matters worse for Biden, the president even commemorated her passing by issuing a statement that thanked her in part for her work on the conference.

“Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana along with two members of her staff in a car accident today in Indiana,” Biden said at the time.

“We may have represented different parties and disagreed on many issues, but she was respected by members of both parties for her work on the House Ways and Means Committee on which she served,” he added. “She also served as co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus, and my team and I appreciated her partnership as we plan for a historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health this fall that will be marked by her deep care for the needs of rural America.”

As observed last week, we are not supposed to notice it and the media does not talk about it — but Biden is not quite all there. He walks around aimlessly, makes up stories, and now is asking for deceased members of Congress. Plus, anonymous aides constantly walk back his statements on important matters.

Those are just the “gaffes” that we see in front of the cameras.

That raises the question that nobody has truly figured out — who is really running the country?
