The anti-fraud task force led by Vice President JD Vance took action on Tuesday to shut down hundreds of thousands of fraudulent Obamacare accounts costing taxpayers billions of dollars. 
The White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud will eliminate about 750,000 Obamacare enrollments identified as fraudulent, Vance said Tuesday. The action will also include a crackdown on insurance brokers and agents suspected of abusing the program. 
“We&#8217;re actually making sure that people receiving Obamacare subsidies are actually entitled to receive them,” Vance said at a press conference announcing the action. “Amazingly, we weren&#8217;t doing that before.”
The Wall Street Journal, which first <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/vance-led-task-force-set-to-remove-760-000-allegedly-fraudulent-obamacare-enrollments-0fbb72d7?st=hAB9kk">reported</a> on the action, noted that the accounts being removed include individuals who were enrolled in the program without their knowledge, have healthcare coverage through their work, or exceed the income limits set to be eligible for enrollment in Obamacare. 
Vance noted that additional verification was being conducted on another 400,000 enrollments to ensure legal residency and income.
The action from the task force will also include the removal of hundreds of insurance brokers suspected of abusing the system to make money off fake enrollments. Vance said that one brokerage ring of 40 people fraudulently funneled around 50,000 people into Obamacare enrollment. 
“Most of those people were not eligible. Either they didn&#8217;t meet the citizenship or the income requirements. Many of those people, quite literally, didn&#8217;t even exist,” Vance said. “We had a system in this country that rewarded brokers, that made people rich, for enrolling fake people in programs that are meant to ensure that our fellow citizens have healthcare.”
The Journal reported that 66 insurance agents have been blocked from the program already and another 469 are expected to be added to the list. 
Enrollment in Obamacare doubled under former President Joe Biden, rising from about 10 million people to 24 million. That came as the federal government eased eligibility requirements to be involved in the program. With the spike in enrollment has come an increase in fraud and abuse, according to federal investigators. 
The anti-fraud task force has so far identified over $245 billion in suspected fraud and taken over two dozen documented actions to crack down on rampant fraud, <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fraud/">according</a> to a White House website.

CNN said Friday that any attempt to shut its reporters out of the White House would be unconstitutional, after President Donald Trump declared he was banning the network, MS NOW, and Politico from the premises.
&#8220;CNN stands fully behind our White House team and their fair and accurate reporting,&#8221; the network said in a statement posted to X. &#8220;We have a right under the U.S. Constitution to do that reporting without hindrance or interference from the government. Should the ban which President Trump threatened go ahead, it would be an illegal assault on that fundamental and constitutionally-protected [sic] right.&#8221;

Trump announced the ban on Truth Social, calling for it to take effect immediately and promising that other outlets would &#8220;follow.&#8221; Asked in the Oval Office how the move squares with the First Amendment, he answered, &#8220;Because they&#8217;re fake news.&#8221; He said there was &#8220;no reason&#8221; for the timing and pointed instead to years of accumulated coverage he considers unfair.
The White House has not explained how the ban would be enforced. Reporters from all three outlets were still on the grounds as of 4:45 p.m. ET, <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-banning-cnn-ms-now-politico-white-house/">according</a> to CBS News, and CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2026/09/18/media/trump-claims-ban-cnn-msnow-politico-white-house">said</a> its staff remained at its workspace near the briefing room.
Politico and MS NOW had not publicly responded as of Friday afternoon, and the White House Correspondents&#8217; Association had not commented.
Trump&#8217;s post singled out Politico over federal subscription payments, a subject The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-to-cut-off-politico-from-federal-funds-press-sec-says">covered</a> when then-Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced in February 2025 that the government would end them.
ACLU attorney Arthur Spitzer <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/18/trump-white-house-ban-msnow-cnn-politico.html">called</a> the ban unconstitutional. Attorney Alan Dershowitz <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-cnn-banned-white-house-access-politico-12462184">told</a> Newsweek that presidents have long excluded outlets over viewpoints and that he sees no constitutional violation here.
The dispute follows earlier access fights. In 2018, the White House pulled the credentials of CNN&#8217;s Jim Acosta, and a federal judge ordered them restored after CNN sued. This year, the administration&#8217;s restrictions on the Associated Press remain in litigation, with an appeals court letting some limits stay in place for now.

WASHINGTON — The president&#8217;s cabinet has been criss-crossing the country over the summer, taking 500 domestic trips to talk directly to the American people about the administration&#8217;s achievements ahead of crucial midterm elections that could derail its agenda. 
President Donald Trump’s Cabinet members made a total 500 domestic trips to between Memorial Day and Labor Day, touting the victories of the administration. The goal is to communicate what the administration is doing to “everyday Americans” across the nation in the weeks leading up to the midterm elections, and for the trips to the heartland to “inform future policymaking,” White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Daily Wire. 
Cabinet secretaries went to Texas 46 times, to Pennsylvania 42 times, to New York 40 times, to Iowa 28 times, and to Michigan 25 times, a White House official shared. They also visited Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Wisconsin, and New Jersey — with at least 10 visits to each state. 
Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling and Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler had the most trips of the summer, a White House official shared. 
“President Trump has assembled the most talented Cabinet in history who work every day to implement his commonsense agenda and deliver wins for the American people,” said Wales, who added that their presence around the country provides &#8220;a strong contrast to the record of failure by radical Democrats on the border, inflation, and crime.”
“In nearly two years, the President has made our country stronger than ever before with the most secure border in history, the largest middle-class tax cut ever, trillions in investment commitments, more than a million jobs created, and the lowest level of violent crime in nearly a century.&#8221;
Trump has promised to hit the campaign trail for Republicans in 35 key races in the final weeks before Americans head to the polls, battling for the GOP in an election year in which history suggests the odds are against Republicans. 
“I’ll be with you 100%,” he vowed in early September during a White House Rose Garden dinner for lawmakers in competitive races. “We’re going to do something like I did for myself in the last presidential election. Four months out I said, ‘Ok. No days off.’ If I didn’t make four or five speeches a day, it was very bad. &#8230; All I’m gonna do is work, work, work, and fight, fight, fight, and win, win, win.&#8221;
The Cabinet travel comes with a flurry of announcements and new initiatives. Just this week, Vice President JD Vance, Attorney General Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel stopped in Kansas City, Missouri to announce major fraud victories. The same day, Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced that the United States <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/energy-and-environment/4725701/chris-wright-energy-department-refill-strategic-petroleum-reserve-prices-soar/">will start refilling</a> U.S. emergency crude reserves in only a few months. Last week, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy launched a new space body and then announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will deliver $1.1 billion in airport improvement grants across the nation. 
While critics and commentators suggested that Republican lawmakers in narrow races should stay far away from the president, Trump is making the case that Republicans should want this administration&#8217;s track record on the ballot with them.
At the Republican Midterm Convention last week in Texas, Republicans highlighted the administration&#8217;s successes, arguing that Americans should vote for lawmakers who can help the president carry out his agenda. Trump himself told voters to behave as if it were a Trump election once again.
&#8220;I&#8217;m asking you to pretend that I&#8217;m on the ballot,&#8221; the president told the convention on night one. And on the second night, he joked to the crowd, &#8220;You know what happens if you don&#8217;t vote? You go to hell.&#8221;
His supporters argue that he is the unequivocal leader of the Republican Party, committed to maintaining the Republican majority in Congress. A White House official predicted to The Daily Wire that with Republicans in control during the next two years, there will be major legislative wins that couldn&#8217;t be achieved with a divided government.
&#8220;There are some voters that only he can motivate to get to the polls,&#8221; the White House official said. &#8220;And any Republican candidate would agree with that reality.&#8221;

The White House posted an emotional tribute video honoring Charlie Kirk’s legacy on the anniversary of the conservative activist&#8217;s assassination.
The video <a href="https://x.com/WhiteHouse/status/2098019134411874305">posted</a> on Thursday morning comes exactly one year after Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University by a man investigators say was motivated by his far-Left views. Kirk, the founder of activist organization Turning Point USA, was a close ally of President Donald Trump and instrumental in Trump&#8217;s election victory in 2024. 
“One year ago, we tragically lost a fearless patriot. A champion for freedom and for our country,” the White House posted on social media. “Charlie Kirk changed the course of American history. His courage, conviction, and love of country will never be forgotten.”
The video posted by the White House included footage and audio from Kirk’s speeches across the country. 
“You know you are part of something bigger than yourself. You know that you are part of the most exciting, diverse, powerful movement in the history of this country. This movement is about the citizens versus the oligarchs,” Kirk is heard saying in the video. “This movement is about we the people versus the ruling class. This movement is about America versus the globalists. This movement is about all of us against them.”

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth focused on Kirk’s devout Christian faith.

President Donald Trump cleared up some confusion on Wednesday after an emergency slide deployed on his new presidential aircraft as it sat on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews.
Trump — who was headed to Dallas for the first-ever Republican National Committee Midterm Convention — was still aboard Marine One at the time. While the slide remained deployed, the president&#8217;s old plane also rolled up and parked a short distance away, prompting confusion about which plane Trump would take and why.
Trump quickly shrugged off concerns about the slide when he disembarked and spoke with reporters, saying it was just being checked out before his flight and assuring them nothing was wrong with his new plane.
&#8220;So they&#8217;re checking the slide over here, and I think it&#8217;s going to take 15 minutes. They were doing a check on the slide, you know, the emergency. So I think it takes about 15 minutes,&#8221; he told reporters. &#8220;They want to make sure everything works perfectly.&#8221;
When asked whether he was confident the plane was safe, Trump replied, &#8220;Yeah, I am, or I wouldn&#8217;t be on it.&#8221;
Crews removed the slide, and Trump departed aboard the new aircraft without further incident.
Questions regarding <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-pulled-off-secret-plane-swap-using-catering-truck-after-iran-threat-report">Trump&#8217;s safety</a> in the air have taken a different tone since July, when the president was quietly transferred to another plane as he left a NATO meeting in Turkey. According to a report from The Washington Post, Trump was taken away from the older Air Force One in a catering truck — apparently due to an assassination threat from Iran — while staffers and reporters remained on board.
Despite the threat and the apparent last-minute switch, the White House has said on several occasions that the Qatari-gifted plane has the &#8220;high-level security protocols&#8221; needed to protect the president.
&#8220;The new Air Force One is a state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the President and his staff,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement at the time. “As the President has said recently, there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him, and we use every tool at our disposal to address those threats.”

Trump Clears Up Mystery Behind Air Force One Emergency Slide

The White House ripped into Democrats after a near-unanimous vote Tuesday night in defense of socialism, calling the vote the latest illustration of &#8220;how extreme their party has become.&#8221;
The vote turned contentious, with only eight Democrat members of the House crossing the aisle to vote with Republicans on the resolution to denounce &#8220;socialism in all its forms.&#8221; It passed 220-192, with all the votes against the condemnation coming from Democrats. Two Democrats refused to pick a side and simply voted present.
The White House is using the vote to tear into Democrats, suggesting that the party has been lost to its most radical elements.
&#8220;Yet again, the Democrats prove how extreme their party has become,&#8221; White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told The Daily Wire. &#8220;They support radical socialism, defunding federal law enforcement, and non-citizens voting in American elections.&#8221;
The vote was far closer than last November, when a <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/11/21/congress/house-denounces-horrors-of-socialism-00664412">similar resolution</a> condemning the &#8220;horrors of socialism&#8221; passed with support from 86 Democrats. The shift comes as the Democrat Socialists of America <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/who-is-behind-the-rapid-rise-of-the-dsa">grows its influence</a> on the political Left, with many of the most prominent party figures in the country proudly embracing the socialist label.
Highlighting this radical shift will be central to the Republican strategy in the rapidly approaching midterm elections, which, especially in House elections, will play out with electorates far less open to socialism than the Democrat base. In some key elections that will determine control of the U.S. Senate, however, the Democrat candidates who prevailed in primaries are on the far-Left.
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, for example, <a href="https://texasscorecard.com/decisiontexas/talarico-said-capitalism-is-an-oppressive-system-that-must-be-dismantled/">called</a> capitalism an &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/talarico-attacked-capitalism-wait-until-you-see-who-was-helping-pay-his-bills">oppressive system</a>&#8221; that needs to be &#8220;dismantled.&#8221; Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Senate nominee in Michigan, has attempted to distance himself from the socialist but has regularly reached out to the far-Left wing of the party — including by campaigning with America-hating communist streamer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/el-sayed-defends-alliance-with-hasan-piker-in-newly-circulated-video">Hasan Piker</a>.
The White House is pledging that Republicans will continue to focus on President Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;commonsense agenda.&#8221;
&#8220;President Trump and Republicans will continue to deliver on his commonsense agenda that includes tax cuts for American families, border security, and record low prices for prescription drugs,&#8221; Bis told The Daily Wire.
Using resolutions to force Democrats to expose their radical positions has been part of the Republican strategy in Congress, and Democrats continue to step right into the trap. Earlier this year, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/53-dems-vote-against-declaring-iran-state-sponsor-terror?msockid=2ac6c3f27a1c60101941d5cb7b3161f3">53 Democrats voted against</a> declaring Iran a state-sponsor of terror — an undeniable fact, unless you don&#8217;t recognize groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis as terrorists.
Democrats, however, are fearful of repercussions from the radical base that doesn&#8217;t want to see it side with Republicans on anything. Two Democrats who crossed the aisle to help Republicans get the resolution to a final House vote were lambasted by party leadership for doing so.
&#8220;The decision by two of our colleagues to blindside the entire House Democratic Caucus and join with the Republican majority to pass a procedural rule on the brink of failing represents a significant breach of trust,&#8221; said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), in reference to Jared Golden of Maine and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, who both voted for the resolution.

The White House complex&#8217;s historic bowling alley is next in line for an upgrade as President Donald Trump continues to leave his mark on Washington. 
The General Services Administration awarded a contract worth more than $250,000 to renovate the lighting at the two-lane Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley, Politico <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/08/31/white-house-bowling-alley-gets-a-250k-glow-up-01057880">reported</a> Monday. 
The July 28 contract went to Charles Mann Enterprises, a Washington-based construction firm that later received an additional $8,800 contract to escort workers through secure areas during the project. 
The company was founded by former NFL defensive end Charles Mann, who played for the Washington Redskins and the San Francisco 49ers. During his career, Mann was selected to four Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls during his pro football career.
A West Wing basement bowling alley was first constructed in 1947 under President Harry Truman before the lanes were transferred to the Old Executive Office Building in the 1950s, <a href="https://www.whitehousehistory.org/sports-recreation">according</a> to the White House Historical Association. President Richard Nixon later added a bowling alley to the White House residential complex in 1973, as he enjoyed bowling with his wife.

A previous project to revamp the bowling alley under President Barack Obama in 2014 was scrapped after Republican objections. The Republican-controlled House later approved an amendment prohibiting federal funding for the renovation.
During Trump’s first term, first lady Melania Trump <a href="https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/press-release-first-lady-melania-trump-celebrates-completion-the-newly-renovated-bowling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oversaw</a> the restoration of the Nixon-era alley that restored its original wooden lane and updated its electrical wiring, machinery, and interior. The Bowling Proprietors&#8217; Association of America funded that project.
Throughout his second term, Trump has transformed parts of the White House complex through multiple construction projects. He remade the Rose Garden with a white stone patio and statues honoring America&#8217;s founders, oversaw construction of a granite helipad on the South Lawn, and renovated the historic Lincoln Bedroom bathroom. 
Trump has also pushed for the construction of a new White House ballroom and military complex, which he has argued is necessary for national security. The project has faced opposition from preservation groups but won a significant legal victory Monday when the Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-drops-5-4-ruling-in-trump-ballroom-fight?author=Jacob+Wheeler&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Supreme+Court+Drops+5-4+Ruling+In+Trump+Ballroom+Fight">cleared</a> the way for construction to continue while litigation proceeds. 
The court&#8217;s 5-4 majority did not decide whether the project is legal, ruling only that the National Trust for Historic Preservation was unlikely to establish that it had standing to challenge the construction.

WASHINGTON — White House Director of Legislative Affairs James Braid will depart the administration in September, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday.
Braid acts as the administration&#8217;s liaison with Congress, ensuring that lawmakers are aligned with the president&#8217;s agenda and pushing his policy through. Braid, who most recently served as a policy aide to then-Senator JD Vance, was close to both the vice president and the president.
He notably played a massive role in getting the &#8220;One Big Beautiful Bill&#8221; across the finish line and also was a major player in the recent housing bill and the &#8220;GENIUS Act,&#8221; which establishes guidelines for stablecoins. While his departure is notable, given his standing in the administration and his impact on Capitol Hill, Braid has been with the Trump administration since the beginning of the president&#8217;s second term in January 2025 and is choosing to depart ahead of the midterms like several other officials.

Braid is the youngest legislative affairs director in history, a White House official told The Daily Wire, as well as the longest-serving legislative affairs director for Donald Trump. The official said Braid &#8220;defeated two Democrat shutdowns&#8221; and &#8220;notched more war power votes for President Trump than any POTUS combined.&#8221;
Additionally, Braid speedily helped the president confirm his Cabinet and never lost a Senate Cabinet confirmation vote.
Vance, Braid&#8217;s former boss, praised the departing official in a statement on Thursday.
&#8220;James Braid had one of the toughest jobs in the entire Administration as White House Legislative Director and delivered for President Trump at every turn,&#8221; Vance said. &#8220;He played a critical role in all of the administration’s achievements in Congress: largest tax cut ever, resources to carry out President Trump&#8217;s historic immigration agenda and finish the border wall, defeating two Democratic shutdowns, a landmark first crypto bill, the fastest confirmation of the cabinet in decades and much more.&#8221;

News of Braid&#8217;s departure comes amid a number of high-profile figures leaving the administration ahead of the midterm elections this fall. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced she would be stepping back from her role to spend more time with her children. She plans to depart the administration by the end of the month.
James Blair, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, announced earlier this year that he would take a temporary leave of absence to head the president&#8217;s political operation from the outside of the administration ahead of the midterm elections.
