A federal judge in Washington said the Biden administration engaged in gamesmanship last week by extending an eviction moratorium in areas hit hard by Covid-19 even after the Supreme Court indicated that only Congress could do so.

UPDATE: Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley said Thursday that Paul Pelosi has agreed to a court date of Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Napa County Superior Court, Fox News reported.

It still remains unclear if Paul will be charged.

“If criminal charges are filed, he will be arraigned at that time,” the report added. “Haley said her office is currently reviewing charges stemming from the DUI arrest of Paul Pelosi on May 29 in Napa County, California.”

Original story:

The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was arrested and reportedly charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher on May 29.

But what’s happened since?

On Wednesday, rumors circulated that Paul’s charges were dropped, sparking outrage online over the Pelosis’ perceived privilege.

“Serious question,” Donald Trump Jr. posted. “Did anyone really believe that Paul Pelosi would face any consequence at all for his DUI crash? Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that the rules don’t apply to Dems they just want you to abide by what they say not what they do. Recurring theme!”

It’s unclear if the charges have been dropped, though.

The Daily Wire first reached out to the Napa County District Attorney’s office for more information on the matter but did not immediately receive a response. The Napa County Sheriff’s office did respond to an inquiry but directed us back to the DA’s office since the department does not prosecute cases.

We will update this report with any additional information as it comes in.

The only information available, thus far, has been reporting from Edmund DeMarche, cited by Left-wing “fact-checking” site Snopes.

“Napa DA’s office just told the Trends Journal that Paul Pelosi’s DUI charge is ‘under review,'” DeMarche reported on Wednesday. “Reports that they were dropped are false.”

Paul was arrested and charged on May 29, reports said. According to the Associated Press, the 82-year-old was “driving a 2021 Porsche into an intersection near the town of Yountville and was hit by a 2014 Jeep.”

There were no reported injuries.

The speaker refused to comment on the matter, except to tell the press she wouldn’t be commenting.

“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” spokesman Drew Hammill said at the time.

Paul, though, has responded via an attorney, The Daily Wire reported.

“Several news reports about Saturday night’s traffic incident involving Paul Pelosi have included incorrect information,” the attorney said via a statement. “Mr. Pelosi was attending a dinner party at the home of friends near Oakville.”

“He left that party at 10:15 PM Saturday, to drive to his home a short distance away. He was alone in his car,” the attorney continued. “After stopping at the intersection of Walnut Drive and Highway 29, and proceeding across Highway 29 to Oakville Cross Road, his car was hit on the back fender by a Jeep heading southbound on Highway 29.”

The Daily Wire will update this post as more information becomes available.
