President Donald Trump took an apparent shot at Democrats during Friday night’s primary debate on ABC News by tweeting out a video of an elderly woman saying that the president was Superman.
“I think that we need to put a cape on his back, an ‘s’ on his chest and call him Superman,” the woman in the video said while she was answering a question from Fox News’ Pete Hegseth. “No mortal man could take what he took for the last three years and two, he has done what he said he would do, and he’s still doing it.”

Following the debate, the Republican National Committee (RNC) said in a statement: “Tonight’s debate was emblematic of the Democrats’ week: a total disaster and short on ideas that will actually help Americans,” said Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Meanwhile, the President had one of the winningest weeks of his presidency. Starting with a strong win in Iowa, an optimistic State of the Union address, an acquittal in the Senate and, to top it all off, January’s jobs report far exceeded expectations. This week only solidified that President Trump is the best choice in 2020.”
The Trump campaign also released a statement, saying, “Democrats were given multiple opportunities tonight to denounce socialism and none of them did. They also made clear that if they’d been in charge, they’d never have given the order to take out Qassem Soleimani, the notorious terrorist responsible for killing hundreds of Americans. As a major political party they are hopelessly out of touch with the majority of Americans. By contrast, President Trump has reinvigorated the American Dream, brought unemployment to generational lows, increased paychecks for low- and middle-income Americans, and lowered healthcare and prescription drug costs for people nationwide. President Trump will crush whichever Democrat is unlucky enough to face him in November.”
