Left-wing journalist Jorge Ramos repeatedly fact-checked Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden during an interview on Friday after Biden repeatedly lied about his record as vice president in the Obama administration.
“With the deportations, most of the people that you deported, they didn’t have a criminal record,” Ramos said. “Is that wrong? Because you haven’t, many are people are expecting you to apologize for that, to say that it was wrong.”
“I think it was a big mistake, took too long to get it right,” Biden said, adding, “it took too long to get it right, but to compare, look, you had the last two administrations deport twice as many people as we deported. Twice as many.”
“But your administration deported 3 million people, more than ever,” Ramos fired back.
“No, no, no, because you had more people deported in the W administration, the Bush and the Clinton administration,” Biden falsely claimed.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Vice President, but the numbers that I have from the Department of Homeland Security, you deported more than 3 million people, 1.7 million with no criminal records,” Ramos responded.
“But there were 5 million people deported in the Bush administration, and more than that in the administration of Clinton,” Biden falsely claimed.
A simple review of the number of people who were deported under each presidential administration shows that the Obama-Biden administration did deport more people than any other administration in American history. In fact, the Obama administration deported 42,946 more people than George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George H.W. Bush combined.
Biden eventually snapped at Ramos for continuing to bring up his record, saying, “You’ve said it 17 times, I get it already.”

At a different part in the interview, Biden said that immigrants, including illegal aliens, were a “gift” to the U.S. and that they were “the reason why our society is functioning, the reason why our economy is growing.”
Ramos also confronted Biden for lying on the campaign trail by falsely claiming that the Obama-Biden administration did not put children in cages.
“At the debate in Houston, you said that during the Obama-Biden administration, ‘We didn’t lock people in cages,’” Ramos stated. “But you actually did, not in the same numbers as in the Trump administration, but you did. We found a picture of an 8-year-old boy from Honduras. It was taken in 2014…”
Biden responded by claiming that the administration did what they did to keep the children “safe,” saying, “What happened was all the unaccompanied children were coming across the border, we tried to get them out, we kept them safe and get them out of that detention centers, essentially that center, that were run by Homeland Security and get them into communities as quickly as we can.”
“[Many] people would say they were cages. I mean –” Ramos responded before being cut off by Biden.
“Well look, you know you’re not telling the truth here about the comparison of the two things,” Biden falsely claimed.
After a brief back-and-forth, Biden continued: “Look how we didn’t engage in, we sought their relatives here. We sought to get them into safe communities, we sought to get them out of the control of Homeland Security, to get them safe, but they came unaccompanied, unaccompanied. And by the way, one of the things we should be doing, and you may recall I’m the only guy that got it done, was to provide for $750 million so people didn’t want to leave in the first place, by going down to Honduras, and Guatemala, and El Salvador, and making sure that we in fact change the circumstances which [is] causing them to flee to begin with. You may remember –”
“I remember that, but they kept on coming –” Ramos fired back.
“Well, no they didn’t,” Biden falsely claimed. “It dropped off extensively, extensively.”
