House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested on Friday that she doesn’t care about claims from top members of the Democratic Party that Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) rigged the 2016 primaries against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
Pelosi was asked to respond to allegations made by former DNC interim chairwoman Donna Brazile, who claimed in an article published by Politico on Thursday that she had obtained evidence that showed the DNC intentionally tilted things in favor of Clinton as early as 2015.
“My focus is on the next election,” Pelosi said. “I don’t have a spare second to be thinking about comments that went on within the DNC.”
Pelosi boasted that she is the Democrat’s biggest fundraiser and she doesn’t have the time or the interest to care about things that didn’t involve her.
“I have responsibility for what I have responsibility for,” Pelosi continued. “I don’t have any interest in what I don’t have any responsibility for when it comes to other campaigns.”
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday that she believed the DNC and the Clinton campaign rigged the primaries against Bernie Sanders.
Tapper asked Warren, “Do you agree with the notion that it was rigged?”
Warren replied, “Yes.”
