A farmer in Harlan, Iowa, confronted far-left Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren on Thursday over her support for socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) “Green New Deal,” which has raised the prospect of eliminating cows to help fight climate change.
The farmer expressed his concern to Warren about changing the feed that cattle are given, warning that it could lead to more carbon dioxide production.
“I would say we shouldn’t get rid of, you know the ‘Green New Deal’ says we need to get rid of cows, I don’t agree with that,” the farmer said.
Warren responded: “Eh.”
The farmer then escalated his frustrations with Warren, saying louder: “My point is we have become so ignorant of the basic principles of biology in food production that we have said we answer them all through technology instead of letting mother earth and having respect.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s $93 trillion Green New Deal has been widely mocked across the political spectrum, including by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is the most powerful Democrat in the United States.

It calls for universal healthcare, free college education, the replacement of airplanes with high-speed trains, charging stations ‘everywhere’ (this is the sort of exactness the proposal contains), replacement of ‘every combustion-engine vehicle,’ government-provided jobs, family and medical leave, vacations, retirement security, and the abolition of ‘farting cows.’ It also calls for total ‘economic security’ for anyone ‘unable or unwilling to work.'”
